Oh, wow, it looks like I haven't posted here in months; sorry about that. D= I should change it.
What was your reaction to the initial announcement of the Fairy-type?
I actually liked it, to be honest. Personally, I've wanted to see them introduce another type for a while, and it was a nice feeling to finally see them doing such a thing. Many of knew that they were going to be announcing a new typing for X and Y, but couldn't put our finger on what it could possibly be; speculations ranged from sound, light, all the way to alien. As for fairy, not many people had actually seen it coming.
One, major thing about this type-group is, they're super-effective against dragon. Dragon Pokémon don't have much weaknesses aside from dragon-type itself (as well as ice), and since most dragons were powerful, bulky, and so forth, this made seem a little overpowering; thanks to fairy, however, they are now more or less balanced, which I'm sure a majority of fans are appreciating.
My most favorite fairy-type thus far would be Togekiss; although it's not a new Pokémon, generally, I still find it to be quite nice-looking, and when it comes to battling, it's able to perform very, very well.
