The Pineapple
Part 4

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Witthoefft watched discouragingly at Adelle as she walked away back into Route Twenty-Nine. She didn't like the nicknames and didn't want to hang out? What a prize she was. That Togepi would've been a great playmate for Vici. The Eevee in his arms, on the other hand, watched them leave curiously, but was otherwise fine. She didn't really comprehend what was going on, but was rather indifferent to the situation as a whole.

The teen glimpsed as Adelle stopped right outside of the terminal. Witthoefft turned away with a huff of defeat and took one step towards Route forty-Six.

"What, you wanted to play with them?" said the girl's familiar voice from behind him. If Witthoefft had been an Eevee himself, his ears would've perked as high as they could go to that statement. He quickly spun around and took a stance in the doorway that Adelle had left through.

Cracking a silly grin, he beamed at Adelle and her defiant Togepi. "Does Pythagoras think the lady doth protest too much?" he said charmingly at her. "Come on, please? Who knows what we could find! What do you have to lose?"

Chapter 1: Part 3- The Wing, The Things, The... Plushie!?

Cy's soft footsteps had finally brought him to Cherrygrove City, the City of New Beginnings as it was mentioned on the sign that he passed by upon entering, with Eri still tiredly asleep. He began to quickly scour through the small city in hopes of finding a Pokemon Center for Eri, however, over a couple of long minutes of searching, Cy found that there wasn't a Pokemon Center anywhere, save for the large hospital situated in the northern section of the town. With no other alternative, Cy could only hope that the hospital had some kind of Pokemon wing or anything for that matter.

A pair of double sliding doors could be heard parting when Cy's feet heavily stepped onto the black floor mat. The hospital's reception area was more enormous than Cy had first imagined, and he made his way towards the counter. A green haired young lady wearing a pair of curved, rectangular glasses, was working the opposite of the counter, and Cy flinched slightly as he tried to keep his emotion under wraps before facing the young lady.

"...U-Uh... W-Where... I mean... I-Is there... a place where I... c-can get some help for my P-Pokemon?" Cy's nervous voice couldn't hide his shyness. He felt awkward but waited patiently for the lady's reply. Leaning forward, she looked down at the injured but sleeping Cleffa and then back at Cy with an interested eye. She returned to her normal standing posture and rummaged through some papers.

"There is a minor wing, here," she spoke pointing at the map she now held in her hands, "that is designed for the treatment of Pokemon like it would at any other Pokemon Center. They would gladly take a look at your Pokemon." She finished with a soft smile. Cy relaxed to a great degree upon hearing of the wing for Pokemon.

"T-Thank you for your help." Cy gave a bow to show his appreciation.

"Don't worry about it. Just let me see that cute, little Cleffa's face when she's better, okay?" Her nodding head made her green hair dance in the air before it fell back down beside her head from the invisible gravity, and Cy agreed before proceeding through a corridor.

The hospital was quite large and without the aid of signs, Cy most probably would had been lost. He navigated through corners and larger connected rooms where countless doctors and their aids briskly walked about until he found the sign that read "Minor Wing" to the side of a closed door. Cy reached for the doorknob with a free arm while the other cupped around under Eri, and twisted the metallic object to let himself in. Looking inside, the word "Minor" wasn't what it should be called. The size of the room and facility could match the single floor of a large house, more or less. There was a shop of some sort with a sign reading, "Gift Shoppe" to the side but Cy's attention was more focused on the front counter where it read, "Pokemon Center". Swiftly walking towards the counter, no one could be seen save for the small ringing bell that stood atop the wooden object. Cy brought his hand over the bell and tapped it slightly. A small ring echoed in the room and no later than it rang, a familiar pink haired nurse appeared from one of the corridors.

"Welcome. How may I help you?" She asked while looking at Cy and down at his Cleffa. Cy returned a look at Nurse Joy and then back to his Cleffa, Eri.

"W-Well... I was wondering if you could... Check up on my Cleffa, please." Cy asked as he offered up his sleeping Pokemon and her Pokeball. Nurse Joy giggled before taking hold of Cleffa.

"We most certainly can do that. You will have to wait a few minutes as we give it a thorough check-up. Might I ask you to have a look at our Gift Shoppe? You might find some essentials there." Nurse Joy reassured Cy with a smile before she took Cy's belongings and entered through a connecting corridor. Cy sighed with relief and took up Nurse Joy's offer. Turning around, Cy strode over to the shop that he saw earlier when he entered and strangely enough, another female was working the counter while reading a magazine.

'Oh hell...' Cy thought to himself as he browsed through some of their selections. They were stocked with a great deal of Pokeballs, potions, and some kind of medicinal powder. Cy looked intently at the powder before he decided to ask the clerk.

"...Um... W-What's that powder?" Cy asked pointing at their stock of the powder. The brown haired clerk looked up at the powder and then back at Cy.

"That there is a medicinal powder for Pokemon. It's not as fast acting like a potion, but you could say it restores and rejuvenates a Pokemon more than a regular potion if you give it time. If you ask me, I think it's much better than a potion." She knowledgeably answered Cy before returning to reading her magazine. Taking her information, Cy began thinking. He took out the contents of his money pouch that was in his backpack and began counting his coins. Cy didn't want to overspend and thought maybe getting five items would be best but... what to choose. Glancing back and forth between the three items, Cy began making multiple combinations with his fingers as he tried to decided.

"Okay... I'm ready." Cy slowly said as he finally decided what to buy. The clerk placed her magazine to the side and got off her ebony colored stool that she sat on. "Can I get one Pokeball, one potion, and three medicinal powder, please." Cy ran through his list in his memory and the young girl swiftly picked up the noted items. Returning to the counter in seconds, she rang up the price and Cy paid her accordingly.

"Thanks for the business." She said with a hint of boredom as she grabbed her magazine and continued with what she was reading. Cy placed all the items into his bag and then noticed something off to the side on a rack. It was... plushies. Cy couldn't believe his eyes and his body unconditionally waltzed over towards the cute little dolls that sat upon the towering racks. Cy stared blankly at them as his eyes scanned each and ever piece of toy that was before him. A tingle began to zip across his fingers as they readied to grab the toys, but Cy tried to resist the temptation to take hold of the cute little plushies. There was one, however, that caught his eye and it was a small plushie of Eri... a Cleffa. The small Cleffa plushie caused his hand to uncontrollably poke it, before Cy retracted his hand.

"...N-No... Must... go back..." Cy forced himself to leave the rack as he walked back towards the Pokemon Center's waiting area, and waited for Nurse Joy and the return of his Eri as he attempted to avoid looking at the plushie rack.

Tyler smiled at his two pokemon. Cyclonis simply stared at him, but Isa was ignoring him. She was chasing around a butterfly. Tyler shook his head.
"Ok you two. Time to train. Isa, use Static Zap on Cyclonis. Cyclonis, use Gust to push her back," Tyler said. Isadora listened now that it was time for battle. She set one paw to sparking mode and charged at the bird, only to be shoved back by the wind being whipped up from his wings. She tumbled to the ground and got up, growling angrily at Cyclonis, who ignored her.
"Isa, use growl. Cyclonis, use Tackle!" Tyler said, his mind already jumping upon inventive ways he could use Gust in a battle or a contest. That would be incredibly helpful in a lot of situations. Isa stopped and growled cutely, her bright face making Cyclonis hesitate a little before flying at her as hard as he could. Isa used the extra second to leap out of the way.
"Isa, Static Zap. Cyc, use Tackle again!" Tyler ordered. Cyclonis whirled around and flew right at Isa again, who set her paw alive with lightning and tapped Cyc on the beak as he flew at her. The two of them tumbled to the ground, with Cyc lying on top of Isa.

"Pichu!" Isa yelled as she crawled out from under the large bird on top of her. Cyc squawked angrily and ruffled his wings.
"Good job you two. Let's keep going. Isa, use Static Zap again. Cyc, go with Gust. Try to get her in the air and follow up with Tackle," Tyler said. Cyc gave him an agreeing look and flapped his wings at Isa as hard as he could. She was pushed back. Tyler was disappointed. Then he saw grass moving under the wind. Grass that should not be moving. He tried to work out why. He heard Isa cry out as she couldn't dodge Cyc's Tackle. He had the answer when he spotted a large rock on the battlefield. This gave him an idea.
"Ok guys!" Tyler began.
"Pichu!" Isa scolded.
"Sheesh, touchy. I was being general. Fine, guy and girl. How is that, better?" Tyler said. Isa looked at him, and he smiled at her.
"Chu!" she said. Tyler sighed. His mind was more focused on calculating angles and such. He picked up Isa and set her down in a spot.
"Don't move from there," Tyler said. He walked over and sheperded Cyc to a different spot. He picked up a stick and marked a spot between the two of them.
"Cyc, use Gust right here and see what happens," Tyler said pointing at the spot. cyc looked at him like he was crazy, but did as he was asked. The resulting wind bounced off the ground and lifted Isa up several feet in the air and threw her.
"PIICCCHHUUUUU!" she yelled in delight as she flew through the air, right into Tyler's waiting arms. Hah! He hadn't graduated early for no reason!
"Great job Cyclonis! That's exactly what I'm talking about! Now, let's get back to training! Isa, use Static Zap! Cyc, use Tackle!" Tyler said happily. That had worked perfectly! He was glad he could correctly calculate it down to the last detail! He watched as his two pokemon continued to battle, calling out commands as they were needed, still showing Cyclonis about different angles to cause different things to happen with his Gust. Such as reflecting it off of the ground to throw Isa forward into his Tackle, causing some damage to him, but even more to her. Of course, if his opponent was too heavy to be moved like that, then he would need different plans. But as Cyclonis got stronger his attacks would pick up in power.

"Pichu..." Isa said as she fell to the ground. Opps. Tyler had become so focused on their training that he had forgotten about how hurt his pokemon were getting. His heart raced and he felt guilty about training them until Isa fainted. Lucky she was only fainted and nothing more serious. But he was prepared. He opened his bag and found... Where the heck were his medical supplies!? He had painstakingly ordered and catalogged all kinds of Hyper Potions, Max Revives, Max Elixers and Full Heals! Where the heck were they!?
"Damn! I swear that fool is getting fired for being so incompetent! I give him one task, and he forgets the most important thing!" Tyler said angrily. Zachary, the household maid, had been asked to pack everything Tyler had set out into his bag. But he hadn't put the bundle of medical supplies in. That fool! They were probably still sitting in his desk in the penthouse... Oh well, Tyler would go buy some more... Son of a *****! He didn't have his bank card! He counted the money he did have. Thankfully, there was still plenty. He would simply go back to the minor wing, get Isa and Cyc healed, and look around the gift shop. There should be plenty of medicine there. After all, it was a hospital gift shop. Cyc looked at him. He was proud of the bird, and also of himself. For it had been his little trick with using Gust to throw Isa into the Tackle head on that had won that.
"Good job Cyc. Return," Tyler said. He picked up the knocked out pichu and walked back to the hospital.

He entered the minor's wing. The first thing he was aware of was that the weird kid from before was standing at the counter. Tyler walked over. The nurse was not here. Tyler groaned and dinged on the bell. When he didn't get a prompt response, he dinged it again. She finally came out.
"Here, heal Isa and Cyc. I'll be right back," Tyler said. He handed the fainted pichu and Cyc's ball to her and walked into te gift shop. He picked out three potions and two pokeballs. He didn't know what that medicinal powder was, nor did he care. He walked over and paid the attendent and walked back to the counter. What the heck was taking them so long? He stood there, drumming his fingers impatiently on the counter. He was Tyler F. Morgan! The heir to one of the most powerful families in Kanto! Why the heck was he reduced to this? Because he didn't want to rely on his families reputation for anything. So he would wait, but he wasn't very happy about it.

29 Simple Rules.

Route 29 wasn't as big as he thought it would be. Chris had left his mother in tears, but after one last good-bye hug, she had calmed down. He stepped into the forest, searching rapidly for any sign of Pokemon. A Rattata. A Hoothoot. They were all good. The excitement did nothing to bring him a smile. Reggie had probably gone ahead and destroyed any chances of capturing a great Pokemon. All of them would have been taken by...by him. Disgusting boy. It was only then that he saw the small bug crawl up the tree. He watched it move slowly up the tree, its legs pulling it forward. A Spinerak. How...nice. Good for that dumb Wooper of Reggie's. He pulled out the bright red PokeGear and checked out any data on this bug.

It sets a trap by spinning a web with thin but strong silk. It waits motionlessly for prey to arrive.

It wouldn't be super-effective, but it would work. He gripped the small Pokeball that held his Magby, Firen. He had named him that after a "mysterious" run-in with a certain fire alarm in his house. It would take months to rebuild that dumb hole. He pushed the small button in the center and watched the bright red light come forth. With a BANG, the small red humanoid landed on the ground. It danced a short jig before looking at the Spinerak. He was so optimistic, something Chris really didn't mind. Then, the attacks began.

"Magby, use Smog!" he blurted out, a little too loudly. Ugh, Rule Number 7 at the New Bark Town Academy, never alert the Pokemon you are attempting to catch of your presence. The Spinerak looked at him before hurrying up the tree. Not before he could catch a bit of smog and fall a bit. It sent out a String Shot to wrap the Magby in sticky string.

"Firen, use your beak to cut out of it, and then hit with another Smog!"

The Magby looked at the string and began to cut, but the Spinerak was fast. It let loose an array of Poison Sting. Some of it aided in his attempt to get rid of the sring. He watched the Spinerak attempt to escape, but Magby jumped at it. He heard his master yell for another Smog, but instead, it found itself wrapped again.

"Firen, turn! Turn and hit the Spinerak into the tree behind you! Then use Flame Body to tackle it. Go!"

Firen did as he was told and swung the Spinerak to a nearby tree. The Spinerak managed to stand up, but couldn't miss the body of fire hurling itself towards it. It was launched into the air and fell, its legs still squirming. Chris could see the persistence in its eyes. It wasn't going to stop easily. He watched it spin and unleash a Poison Sting tornado. The purple hit Magby and he fell back as Spinerak went in for a Tackle of sorts.

"Go, Firen, use Flame Body, and you spin this time. Try to keep your head up!"

The Magby managed to turn on the temperature and stop Spinerak in its tracks. Then, the tornado started. The Fire began to whirl around the forest, sending trees up in flames. Rules 26, Combinations. The leaves fell with fire, trapping the Spinerak and burning it into sumbission. Magby rushed forward, baring its teeth, and rammed into it. It fell back. As the fire around him began to slow, Chris pulled a Pokeball and threw it. The red light captured the Pokemon and he watched it began to shake.

Chapter 1: A Swampy Start!

Danielle exited the lab, feeling the soft breeze on her face. She did not feel it was very fitting, however, as she was furious. Today had definitely not been her day so far. Being back in the town where she had lived for the first half of her life was awkward, and her recent experience with her new Pokemon hadn't gone down so well.

In short, the Pokemon she had actually wanted had punched her in the face. Hard. So instead, she had received a wimpy little pink thing that was about as fierce as a dog toy. It even squeaked occasionally, too. She had stuffed it away in its pokeball as she stalked towards the exit of New Bark Town. She hoped she never came back here again, even though she knew it was pretty likely she would. She was lucky she hadn't run into her parents yet; they hadn't seen her in so long.

She shoved her hands in her pockets as she left the breezy town, her face still red where the Tyrouge had punched her. Her left hand brushed over the Pokegear she had quickly stuffed in her pocket. She ran her fingers along its side, fingering the buttons as she did so. Her other hand held a spherical object firmly – a pokeball, of course. The ground beneath Dani's feet seemed to squish a bit as she walked further and further away from the lab, and a gross smell was beginning to fill the air. 'Great, just what I need at the beginning of my journey. A friggin'swamp,' she thought, rolling her eyes. It was kind of creepy, really, being all alone in the swampy area. Occasionally a bush rattled or a pebble rolled, but other than that, it was mostly silent.

She was beginning to really wish she was somewhere else when she fell, flat on her face. Danielle swore as she turned herself over and sat up. At first, she didn't see anything. But she knew she had tripped on…. There it was! It was almost invisible, but when the sun hit it just right Danielle could see a long silver thread, stretching from one side of the path to the other.

"Who the heck put that there?" she asked to nobody in particular. Standing up, she snatched the thread away from the path and flicked it off her fingers. "There, all fixed," she said smugly, turning to continue down the path. She didn't get very far before something promptly attached itself to her face.
Danielle screamed in terror, throwing her hands up to pry the thing from her head. She gripped it on both sides and pulled with all her might. Eventually, the thing tore off, beginning to flail about in her hands. Dani gasped and stared in bewilderment when she found a giant spider squirming about between her fingers. Immediately she tossed the thing onto the path, backing away from where it landed. A buzz from her left pocket notified her that her Pokegear wanted to tell her something. What did the stupid machine want at a time like this? Sighing, she snapped it out of her pocket and glared at the screen. On it showed a picture very similar to the bug in front of her, with a caption underneath: SPINARAK.

As she pocketed the Pokegear once more, an idea popped into her head. This Pokemon clearly wasn't as useless as the pink thing. If it could latch onto people's faces, it had to be worth something, right? "I'll catch it, then!" Dani exclaimed, pulling an empty pokeball from her pocket as the spider came at her once more. "Take this, you little dirtbag!" she yelled, throwing the pokeball at the Spinarak. The ball popped open when it made contact with the spider, and in a flash of bright light, it was gone. Danielle cheered. She bent over to pick the ball up when she noticed it had started to wobble.

A memory from her past came to her. She was sitting in a classroom, trying to get some sleep while the teacher blabbed on about something. When the teacher had asked Danielle a question, she hadn't been able to answer. But it was something about how idiots sometimes threw pokeballs at a Pokemon before they should, or something.

Danielle was trying hard to recall just what it was that the teacher had asked, when, in another flash of bright light, the Spinarak escaped. "Crap!" Danielle said, her hand stuffing into her pocket once more. Apparently, she needed to fight it first. Pulling out her new Pokemon's ball, she tossed it into the air. "Let's see if you aren't as useless as I thought, Igglebarf! " Danielle called. The pink blob popped out of its pokeball and turned to Danielle, giving her a tiny death-stare. "Oh, get over it. I don't know your name, who cares? Now help me catch this thing." She nodded towards the Spinarak, who was staring at them, confused.

"Iggly-buff!" Dani's Pokemon shouted, stomping its foot and attempting to cross its tiny arms. Reluctantly, it turned back towards the Spinarak. Both Pokemon took on ready positions – but before either of them moved, Igglybuff glanced back at Danielle. "Iggly?" it asked, wondering what to do. Danielle slapped her face with her hand.

"Go…hit it, or something? Come on, you can't be THAT bad at this!" Dani ordered, gesturing to the Spinarak. Igglybuff turned back around, just as the Spinarak lunged. Not knowing what to do, the tiny pink Pokemon wagged its tiny stub arms in front of it, trying to fend off the spider Pokemon. Nonetheless, Spinarak attached itself to Igglybuff, sending them both backwards onto the ground. Igglybuff – being spherical in shape – kept rolling on, the spider still attached to it. The pair rolled back along the path, towards the way Danielle had come. "No! That's the wrong way, dummy!" she shrieked, running after the two and tackling them.

She ripped the Pokemon apart, holding them each as far away from each other – and herself – as she could. Tears had started to roll down Igglybuff's face. The Spinarak bit Danielle, who dropped the spider, shocked. "Oh that's it you little beast!" Setting Igglybuff quickly on the ground, Danielle spun around to find the Spinarak staring at her, ready for more. Angrily, she lashed out with her foot – kicking the spider square in the face and sending it flying into the air. "Take that, jerk!" she shouted at the Spinarak. It landed on the ground, dazed for a moment, before quickly jumping up again, ready for more.

Before Danielle could hit it again, the Pokemon was in the air, somehow floating as if something had pulled it magically upwards. Danielle charged forward again, but before she could grab it, Spinarak was too high. How was it doing that? Something pulling it…pulling…that was it! The thread! Dani smirked, looking around for something on the ground.

"Don't think you've escaped, yet, you little bugger," she told the spider. Finally, her eyes met the perfect thing to throw. "It's time to play ball," she continued, scooping up Igglybuff without even a second thought. "Alright, Iggly. As soon as I throw you, you grab on to the Spinarak and pull it down," she whispered. Before the small fluff could protest, however, Danielle aimed, pulled her arm back, and flung the Pokemon.

Surprisingly, Igglybuff hit its mark – slamming into Spinarak with such force that the two of them came crashing down onto the ground. "Aha!" Danielle exclaimed excitedly, jogging over to where the two Pokemon lay on the ground, unmoving. Pulling a second pokeball from her pocket, she dropped it on top of the Spinarak, hoping for the best.

Adelaide Thomas

1.5 First Strike

"What do you have to lose?" Adelle rubbed at her temples and exhaled. Damn Py and his adorable mug. Who could say no to a baby Pokémon?

"Oh my god, I can't believe I'm doing this," she breathed, spun around and trudged back over to the Police Terminal, this Witt kid and his Eevee. "Fine, fine, fine, whatever."

Pythagoras whistled happily and bounced around in Adelaide's arms. Well, at least he was happy. A Pokémon's happiness was a trainers top priority, right? Oh, and safety too. Adelle had better keep that in mind, since as far as she knew, baby Pokémon were more susceptible to damage and she couldn't see the Togepi's evolution coming anytime soon. And Adelle didn't even know what it evolved into. It did evolve, right?

The pushed the door open, completely ignored the guy at the counter (as he did to her as well) and stepped into Route 46, or so her PokéGear said. Well, it was still a dead end. But Pythagoras needed some training and perhaps playing with this guy's Eevee would help the experience go up. She turned around to the boy and folded her arms, the Togepi moving up to her head.

"What exactly were you planning on doing in this dead end?"

"What exactly were you planning on doing in this dead end?" she asked.

"Uh," Witthoefft stammered. There were plenty things to do, but, what to do first? They could let the Pokémon just play, but Adelle had this "this better be important for wasting my time" mug on her face. The girl would probably stop out in protest regardless of her cute little Togepi's pleads. Or so thought Witthoefft, at least.

Just as searched his head, Vici jumped out of her parent's arms and landed perfectly on the ground. The feline ran over and starting pulling on Adelle's pants with her teeth, signaling that she wanted to play with the girl. Or Togepi. Whatever came first. I suppose that first idea will have to do, if that's what Vici wants.

"I guess when can let our Pokémon roam around and play while we talk, Adelle-lady." Witthoefft suggested, playing off Adelle's full name of Adelaide. He thought that was pretty damn clever on his part.

(OOC: They would get done with Cy's Cleffa first as Tyler came in later.(

Tyler tapped his foot impatiently, ignoring the nurse that walked out with a Cleffa and called someone else. The other nurse soon emerged with a very irritated Isadora.
"Pichu! Pichupi!" she shouted angrily. She leapt out of the nurse's arms and on to the counter. Tyler picked her up and glared at the nurse, who handed him Cyclonis's pokeball.
"Now, don't be so rough with your training," the nurse admonished.
"Don't tell me what to do. I know that already!" Tyler said as he walked out. The nerve of those people! They actually thought they could tell him what to do?! Well, if he hadn't needed to use them, he would have gone ahead and had them fired. But... He didn't know what it was they did to heal his pokemon like that. So, he supposed he'd have to put up with the disrespect they showed. Oh well, it wasn't his problem. But seeing Isa unhappy with that nurse had put him in a foul mood. He absently pet Isadora on her head.

"Pichu!" she said angrily and jumped out of his arms.
"Great, what did I do this time?" Tyler asked. She glared at him. He looked at her, trying to figure out what she was so upset about.
"Pichu! Pichupi!" she said angrily. She glared at Cyc's pokeball.
"What? Are you mad that I was working more with him while we were training?" tyler asked. She glared angrily at him and waved her arms in the air.
"Pichupi! Pichu! Pi!?" she said. Tyler sighed. She was jealous of the bird.
"Look Isa. You don't need any special training like that right now. Cyc did. And I'm going to spend a lot of time working with you for your contest debut, ok?" Tyler said as the ideas for her and her moves and attitude formed in his mind. There was really only one way he could go with her for the maximum appeal in contests. He decided to start training her for those right now, as her battle skills were in top form. But where to train without attracting a lot of attention. He made his way around behind several houses. She followed him with an irritated expression.

"Alright Isa. I'm going to train you for something only you can do," Tyler said. True enough, only she would be in contests until Cyc became at least a Pidgeotto. Pidgeys were simply too bland. Cyc had a talent and a flare about him, but a bird can't change his feathers. No matter what Tyler did to him, unless he evolved, Cyc would simply be just another Pidgey.
"Now, let's see what happens when you hold Static Zap, but don't use it on anything. Try it now," Tyler instructed. Isa looked a little mollified, but she did as she was asked. She stood there with a bored expression on her face, her brown eyes looking up at Tyler. Her paw was held out in front of her and it sparked mildly. After a few moments, the static buildup was a little too great, and a rather large bolt of electricity jumped to the most conductive thing in the area. Unfortunately, that was Tyler. He fell to the ground.

"Pichu! Pichu pichupi!" Isa shouted as she poked him with her paw. He sat bolt upright when she bit his hand.
"Ouch! That was awesome Isa! I knew that would happen!" Tyler said. He took several steps back and had her do it again, carefully keeping track of the rate the static built up. He had her do it again, and carefully timed how long it took. Always the same amount of time. Her static built up rather fast. It was a mark of how strong she was. Unfortunately, she couldn't control it. Tyler would have to find some good things in the props to make up for that. He had another idea now.
"Try using Static Zap with both paws," Tyler instructed. He knew she could do it, for she had zapped him several times with each paw. But, would she be able to do it at the same time? In a word, yes she could! But, it took longer for each Static Zap to get poweful enough to use. Best not to try this in battle. It would take too long to be useful. But... In a contest, it would be amazing.
"Now, combine what we just went over. Use Static Zap in both paws until the bolt jumps through the air!" Tyler instructed, taking his spot behind the metal sign he had been using to take the discharged electricity instead of him. He had no idea how long that first zap had kncked him out, but he didn't want to get zapped again. She built the Static Zap up in both paws, until finally, two arcs of electricity jemped from her paws to the sign. Tyler's eyes lit up. That was amazing! It looked like the bolts met in midair to become one! That was amazing!
"Wow! You're a natural at this! Do it again!" Tyler said happily. Isa looked up at him, pleased she had gotten him to train with her like he had Cyclonis. She did it again. Tyler carefully kept track of the time it took for the static to build up to the level where it would jump. Always the same amount of time. These techniques would be perfect for contests with what he had planned. And that static build up was strong, if he could come up with a way to use it in battle. It was so slow! How could he use it? He'd think of something if the opportunity presented itself. After he was sure that he wasn't imagining things, he jotted everything he had learned in his note pad. Ah, the power of science. He was going to blow everyone away at the first contest!
"Alright Isa, here's what we're going to do next..." Tyler said. He and Isadora began working on the routine he had come up with for her.

(OOC: I'm not going to enlighten you on the routine until I actually use it in a contest. :P )

On the Road of Cherries.

Reggie saw Chris before he could leave the fiery spot. The Spinerak had been buried deep inside the Earth. He felt terrible for what he had done, but it had been an accident. At NBHS they had nevr told him anything about Pokemon dying. Nevertheless, he would skip any other Pokemon in this route out of...respect. But, Reggie bared his teeth again as he walked up to him. He pushed him and looked at the spot. He looked at the Magby, saw that it had grown, and took another look at Chris.

"Yo, Pig. How about a battle, huh?" he sneered. Woops, his Wooper jumped out of his bag and looked at Magby. They smiled and began to jump around with each other. Chris didn't smile. Reggie laughed.

"Fine. Wooper 'gainst my Firen?" inside he was deeply worried. Temperature against Fluid? That would never work.

"No way. Your Magby against my latest Pokemon. Woops is too good for your dumb Firen. Spear, let's get 'em."

The Spearow came out with a cry and landed in a nearby tree. It cawed and Chris took out his PokeGear. It was a Colorless and Wind Pokemon. The small red machine beeped and the picture of the bird showed up.

It flaps its small wings busily to fly. Using its beak, it searches in grass for prey.

Reggie had the first move. Fury Attack. Its beak glowed and it began coming back and forth. Firen narrowly missed the attack. But, the second time around, it felt the attack. As Spear came down for the third hit, Magby's body began to glow a bright redand the bird fell back, its beak burned. Then, the Magby let out a Smog attack. The gas filled the air but the bird just flapped its wings right back.

"Firen, spin fast so that the smoke whirls around you instead of towards you."

The vortex of gas swirled around the red Pokemon. The poison gas vanished and the Spearow came forth for another peck. This time, Firen unleashed another Flame Tornado just like the one with the Spinerak, but this time, a bit lighter. The Spearow came out slightly singed, but not cooked or burnt. The Spearow came forth for one final attack.

"Firen, jump and hit it down into the ground."

The Spearow fell into the ground and the small bird was hurt. Reggie ran up to it and hugged it in his arm. He pulled out a tiny yellow diamond and fed it to the Spearow who instantly felt better. Then, he sprayed a small Potion on the bird and it healed. Perfectly fine. Chris noticed how good Reggie was at healing Pokemon. But, nevertheless, he was a rival. Then again, rivals should be thanked.

"Good battle. Bye Reggie." Chris walked on, leaving him behind. This day had been a failure other than the victory. Cherrygrove City was so close, he could almost smell the ocean. Wait a second, he could. He could smell the water! The city was right there. So beautiful, so amazing. He had made it.

"Okay, okay, hang on," Adelle nodded at the Eevee tugging on her jeans. She went to place down Pythagoras on the ground though the Togepi pretty much leapt out of her hands when Adelle lowered her arms. Pythagoras made a squealing noise then trod off into the small grass with the Eevee, playing however Pokémon played. The two should be okay together in the grass. And maybe this playing would help strengthen Py up. Hopefully. Maybe? Who knew anyway?

She turned back to Witt, frowning slightly. What was with this kid anyway? Was he purposely being persistently annoying or what? What was talking even going to accomplish? She could learn about something she really did not want to hear about? Wait, step back and calm down. This kid was just a kid. Ugh. Be nice.

"Hah, funny," she said, sarcasm licking off her tone. "What did you want to talk about then, Witt?" His full name was way too hard to remember.

The Pineapple
Part 6

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hm," Witthoefft said in a slightly high-pitched tone and placing his finger on his chin; cuteness oozing off of the gesture. The boy looked around and found a nice tree to sit under. "Why don't we go sit down first? We can talk about each other and swap PokeGear numbers and such!" he beamed.

Once they were nestled under the tree, Witthoefft rubbed his hands together; face locked in a thinking position. "Okay, so, you know I'm Witthoefft. But my last name is Evans, too. Witthoefft Evans. I want to be a coordinator slash breeder, and I really love Pokémon. I mean they're like my favorite thing. Ever. And I guess you can call me an animal welfare nut, because I'm always the one to speak up against injustice towards Pocket Monsters. To tell you the truth, I'm a coordinator because I don't really like the idea of just getting my Pokémon hurt all the time." He smiled throughout the entire monologue, shifting his view from Adelle's eyes to the field around them. Vici and Pythagoras instantly were hitting it off, giggling and chasing each other. Although, it seemed Vici was more into roughhousing then the Togepi almost to the point where it looked like the Eevee was hunting the egg-creature. But, like that would ever happen. Vici wouldn't do that. Also, there seemed to be two male teenagers a ways from them, shifting through the grass. Maybe they lost something?

"How about you, sweetie? What's your brief summary?" Witthoefft asked with a huge smile and a hum in his voice.

Tyler walked back around the building. That had been an excellent contest training session. He glanced down at Isa, who was looking very worn out. Was he pushing her too hard? No, probably not. She looked up at him with a happy expression on her face.
"Pichu! Pi!" she said happily, if a little tiredly. Tyler reached down and picked her up. Sge didn't even protest as he held her in his arms.
"Well, let's go see what kind of trouble we can get into!" Tyler said as he walked back toward the ocean. He saw a fisherman sitting on the shore, if you could call it that. Tyler walked past him and was called out to.
"Hey, kid! Come here a minute!" the fisherman said. Tyler was a little irritated at being addressed so crudely, but he let it go.
"Yes? I am Tyler," Tyler said politely. This man was older than him, and even though Tyler didn't know him and didn't care to, he still needed to be afforded the respect he hadn't really shown Tyler.
"Hey kid. I'm Tully! You are clearly a pokemon trainer. I got a favor I want to ask you! I need you to catch a Magikarp for me!"
"Pichu!" Isa said as she glared at Tully. Tyler was shocked into silence for a moment. One, this guy was a fisherman. Why couldn't he just catch his own Magikarp? Did he really suck that much? And Two, why ask Tyler? He didn't even know the boy! So why him? It was as if he expected Tyler to actually want to help him! He finally recovered his voice.
"Er... That's nice and all, bu why can't you just catch your own? Why should I help you?" Tyler asked. Tully shook his head at the boy.
"I, well, I don't have to tell you. And I'll make it worth your while! What do you say?" Tully asked. Tyler sighed and nodded. Tully handed him the fishing rod and walked away before Tyler could even speak. Tyler looked at the rod in his hands. What the hell? How the crap was he supposed to use this? A more thorough examination told him. You just hold this button and swing like you've seen them do it on TV! Tyler cast the rod, and the hook landed on the rocks. He frowned and reeled it back in. He cast again, this time throwing it as hard as he could, and it went way out into the ocean. Perfect! Now, time to wait.

10 minutes later.

"God this is boring!" Tyler said angrily. He paced around. Isa was now holding the rod. She glacned up at him with a sullen expression.
"Pichu..." she said. Tyler sat down. He hated fishing already.

20 minutes later.

Tyler felt a tug on the line. He smiled at Isa, who was now sleeping in the sun and began reeling whatever he had caught in. His boredom was gone, replaced with excitement as he fought with the rod.
"Come on you little piece of ****! Stop fighting me!" Tyler said as he reeled it in. A small, ugly, red magikarp was thrust into the air and landed on the ground near Isa, who jumped and ran behind Tyler. Tyler was about to hurl a pokeball at it when he remembered that even worthless pieces of crap like this had to be weakened before being caught. So, he deftly moved his hand and grabbed Cyc's pokeball.
"Cyclonis! Come on out!" Tyler cried as he tossed the pokeball. Isa looked at the bird before yawning and going back to sleep.
"Karp! Karp!" the fish said as it flopped around. Tyler groaned and shook his head.
"Tackle attack now!" Tyler said. Cyc flew right at the fish and slammed into it as hard as he could. The fish flopped around weakliy and did nothing else. This thing wasn't even going to fight back? What a piece of trash! No wonder no one liked Magikarp! Tyler wondered why Tully needed one.
"Tackle again!" Tyler said as the fish flopped around. Cyc slammed into it and it went down. Tyler tossed the pokeball. He watched as the fish was sucked into the small red and white sphere. It soon began to shake. Tyler hoped it would stop moving. He had to give the dumb fisherman his prize and his rod back. Tyler waited for the ball to stop moving impatiently, tapping his foot and glaring at it. This so wasn't worth his time.

A Rocky Start for the Both of Us.

"Now, Bellsprout, use Vine Whip!" Max yelled as the small plant hobbled over towards Firen. It let loose two vines from it small body and wrapped them around the Magby that quickly glowed a bright red. It retracted the vines with a squeal and Magby charged towards the Pokemon, effectively pushing it into a tree. Max the trainer looked at Chris' serious expression. He smiled and continued to battle hard. It was on Route 46 that the two had met. After a squabble or two, they had agreed to a battle. But, Bellsprout had taken an early lead.

It prefers hot and humid environments. It is quick at capturing prey with its vines.

The Bell Pokemon shot out two leaves that circled Firen. It used its Smog to fog his eye sight, stopping the attack from causing too much damage. Bell, the Bellsprout, moved forth and leaped over the Magby's Flaming Body. The, it used its leg to quickly trip it, but not before sustainging a slight burn. Firen watched as the Bellsprout pushed it into the air and he began to spin. Dizziness overtook the Pokemon, but Chris held on strong. He looked around for anything to help. Those rocks could be effective.
The monolith was on the other side. It had three sturdy rocks that would be enough to stop the Pokemon. The Magby came down on its feet only to be tripped again by Bell who charged towards it. Firen had other plans who quickly burned through the ground beneath him and pushed him forward where he bumped into the rocks and fell over. It had fainted.

"Good battle, Max. Thank you." Chris was about to walk away when something hit him. A hole in his stomach. He couldn't just leave the two there alone. He turned and sat the Bellsprout upright. It looked as if it was hurt really bad. The only thing he had was a Grillo Acorn. He looked at Firen who also looked pretty beat up. He bit down on his lip, trying to decide whether to use it. Max looked worried about his Bellsprout. He wished he had just stayed in Cherrygrove City. But, of course he had heard of Route 46 and the other Pokemon here. His mother's voice rang in his mind and he grunted.

"Is there anything you can do? He looks really bad, I'm scared for him." Max asked him. It was only then that he realized how young the boy was. Maybe four or five years younger than him. He would be scared.

"Ugh...yes. Here." he snapped the Grillo Acorn in half and gave one piece to the Bellsprout who sat up straight at once and smiled. Max hugged Bell and thanked Firen and Chris for the battle. Firen looked at Chris with that, what have you done, face.

"There will be other Acorns. Don't worry." Chris smiled. He popped the other half into Firen's mouth and they were about to go on their way when they heard it. The grumble from behind them. The rocky sound. They turned to see the monolith smashed open and a Geodude in front them. It was clearly angry from the battle. Maybe the noise had upset it, or maybe it was when Bell smashed against the rock. Either way, it was angry, and the Mineral/Ground Pokemon was ready to battle. Firen looked nervously at Chris. He didn't want this one to die. "Firen, light damage. We'll wear it down slowly."

At rest, it looks just like a rock. Carelessly stepping on it will make it swing its fists angrily.

The Geodude rolled itself into a ball before charging towards Firen. Firen jumped only to be hit by it coming back. Another attack did the same. Chris thought back. During the battle with Reggie, Spearow had done the same thing. With its Fury Attack it had constantly attacked until Firen had been able to use Flame Body. But, Flame Body wouldn't do much against a Mineral type. So, maybe he could trap it. The hole! The hole in the monolith. Firen used a slight Flame Body only to stun the Pokemon. Little by little, Firen continued to push the Geodude. It kept rolling back.

Firen was getting tired, but slowly moved towards the monolith. Then, the Geodude looked at him sharply and rammed Firen. Or, at least, it was about to when he kneeled down and made a ramp for the Geodude.

"Great job, Firen!" Chris stammered as the Geodude flew into the hole. Dazed, the Geodude was stuck. As it tried to get out, it grew weaker. "Mow, Firen, tap it out with Flame Body. And be careful." Firen followed and the Geodude rolled out and Chris threw the Pokeball. He held his breath as the ball slowly moved.

Exchange numbers. Right. Adelle joined Witt over by the tree and sat down, exhaling. Oh boy, talking about ourselves. No doubt this boy had some silly little sob story that would take forever to explain and Adelaide would probably sleep right through it. Or just not listen. Whatever.

At least the boy said his name again. Witthoefft Evans... Nope, still to hard to remember. Witt would be good enough. If he could give her an assortment of nicknames, at least she could shorten his so it was easier to say. Or maybe just call him Evans, though that seemed a little too impersonal. They were two trainers, not vicious rivals. Then he began to explain what he liked. Oh, great. Adelle leant on her hand as he went on a little about how much he liked Pokémon and stuff. Well, at least she was wrong about the sob story. Her eyes moved over to two other boys battling in the grass, one with a Magby and one with a Bellsprout. She zoned out from Witt's story, getting the general gist of it, as a Magby took out a Bellsprout. Wait, fire? Would that burn the grass that Py and the Eevee were playing in? She scanned the area and... nope, they were fine.

"How about you, sweetie? What's your brief summary?" Adelle's eyes shifted back to Witt as the conversation moved over to her. Oh great. Now she had to talk about herself? That was never fun, there was nothing to talk about. Though Witt's smile meant there was no no for an answer.

"Well," she exhaled again, "my name is Adelaide Thomas and I'm a Pokémon Trainer." She smiled at how she toned it, like she was a member from an Alcoholics Anonymous session. "Uh, I'm from Olivine and I like Pokémon too, I guess." That was really it. She had a motive but she wasn't going to explain herself to this guy she had known for like ten minutes. She had family, but who seriously cared about that? She scratched her neck and coughed a little. There wasn't much else to talk about. Her eyes went back to the boy with the Magby and she flicked out her PokéGear as he was confronted by a rock Pokémon.

Magby, the Live Coal, the screen read. It naturally spits an 1100-degree flame. It is said when many appear, it heralds a volcanic eruption. She then flicked it over to the other one. Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Proud of their sturdy bodies, they bash against each other in a contest to prove whose is harder.

The trainer threw a PokéBall at it and the ball began to shake. Adelaide stared at it. This was really the first time she had seen a Pokémon being caught other than by her father or on TV.

No Miranda Warning

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Witthoefft listened attentively at the vague description of her character Adelle provided for him. It wasn't much, but hey, it was something! As the girl pulled out her PokeGear and looked over at the trainer that was battling just previously, Witthoefft shifted his view to the two playing Pokémon. Everything was all fine and dandy but there was this one mean looking boy coming near them. He was mumbling something, but it couldn't be made out.

The boy walked straight into the playing critters beneath him and tripped. Witthoefft immediately stood up in response. Getting up slowly, the boy was furious.

"You stupid ****ers!" he swore as he stood up. He took his leg and swung it at the two, kicking Pythagoras square in the face. The tiny egg monster cried out in pain as the foot made contact, and continued to cry as it held its face in anguish. That was enough for Witthoefft to see.

Marching over, he grabbed the boy by the back of his throat and pulled him away from the two. Stumbling backwards, he looked up at Witthoefft, who was glaring at him as angrily as possible.

"What's your problem, douchebag?" the boy asked rudely.

"What's my problem?" Witthoefft sarcastically repeated. "What's my problem?!" and this time, with a little more anger, making the boy lean back a bit. "You think you can just waltz over and hurt a Pokémon, hm?!" he interrogated, walking towards him with loud stomps.

"I- I just tripped and got angry, okay? I mean, Pokémon get hurt all the time-"

"Oh, so it's just okay to kick them, hm? Make 'em cry? You sick little-"Witthoefft's words grew with intensity as they went on and the boy's eyes grew with fear.

Witthoefft pushed him to the ground, and the helpless boy whimpered a bit. "If I ever catch you doing that again to any other Pokémon...."He clenched his teeth as thousands of violent words filled his head. But, he couldn't beat the kid up. He wasn't like that.

"Get out," he finally said. The boy scurried off and cried for his mother as he headed for the police terminal. What a punk.

Tyler walked back toward the town and spotted Tully. He shoved the Magikarp's pokeball into his hands and handed him his rod back.
"Thanks kid. I guess you want to know why-" Tully said.
"Not really. I just want my reward so I can get moving," Tyler said. Tully frowned a bit and pulled out a Thunderstone.
"Here you go," he said simply. Scott looked at the stone in wonder. Why was he getting such a rare gem for such a simple task? On second thought, he didn't much care. He shoved the stone into his pocket and smiled at Tully.
"Thank you sir," he said politely.
"No, thank you," Tully replied as he walked back to his fishing spot. Tyler shook his head after Tully had left.
"Dumbass. This stone is easily worth ten times that stupid fish. Ah, well, the sheep are here to fleece, as father would say. Heh, I still can't believe my luck. Time to go see what this rock is worth, because you don't need it Isa," Tyler said to the sleeping Pichu in his arms. Isa woke up at the sound of her name and glared at him. So, now he had another problem. What was he going to do until the workers that were blocking the path moved? He had to get through, but he wasn't about to trespass in a work zone until everyone was gone. He wandered around the city, trying to think of something. Maybe he should challenge a trainer to a pokemon battle? Nah, not right now. He sat down on a bench in front of the hospital and tried to think of something.

1.8 First Strike

Adelle was kind of absorbed in her PokéGear but couldn't help but notice the disgruntled boy. What was up with him? He was muttering furiously and was heading straight for Py and Vici. By the look on his face and the direction he was headed, Adelle did not like where it was going. He tripped, screamed a profanity the proceeded to punt Pythagoras in the face. Adelle stood up with Witt, her mouth open to yell something at the kid though Witt beat her to the punch.

He strode over, grabbed the kid by the shirt and looked like he was going to punch him. Though, after a quick exchange of angry words, let the kid go and told him to leave. What the hell just happened? She wasn't sure what Witt said, but Adelle was hell mad and wanted her say in this.

"Wait just a second there," she yelled at the boy as he approached the police terminal. He turned around, only to get squarely punched in the face by Adelle. She wasn't strong, she knew that. She just hoped it hurt. Witt may not have the balls to hit the kid, but she certainly did. It was her Pokémon he hurt anyway. The boy was flung back to the ground, caught off guard. "How does it feel, huh?! You stupid, moronic, loser of an asshat. NOW you can go cry to your mummy. Maybe she'll teach you how to not be a colossal douchebag." The kid whimpered and ran off. Adelle glared at him as he passed through the terminal. What a douchebag. She turned around and ran back to Py, picking him up from the ground.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" she slowly stroked his forehead. He was crying and started to let up, sobbing silently and shaking his head. Adelle hugged him gently and turned back to Witt.

"Hey, uh, thanks for that, man," she nodded at him.

Weasel Words

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey, uh, thanks for that, man." Adelle said, nodding. Witthoefft sighed. He still had the huge amount of rage going through him, and it didn't let up. But he couldn't hurt that kid. What would've have proved? Although, seeing Adelle give him a good punch in the face did satisfy him.

"You're welcome, anytime." Witthoefft bent down a bit to be face-to-face with Pythagoras. "You okay, sweetheart?" he said, rubbing the bruise gently on the Pokémon's forehead with his hands, The Togepi sniffled, but looked up towards Witthoefft in appreciation. "T'oh, it's gonna be alright."

He stood firmly back up and crossed his arms. His face was still locked like he was furious, and he was hankering to just beat something into submission. But he restrained himself. "There is a PokémonHospital in Cherrygrove that'll heal up the bruise. Sorry I dragged you here only to have your Togepi to get hurt." He said, and then he snatched her PokeGear and typed something into it. His number was simple and he made a catchy tune for it: Five-five-five-five~nine-nine! ....Sigh. Nope, that didn't cheer him up.

"Here," he said, almost shoving it back to her. "I put my number in there if you ever want to talk. I apologize again.... so, so much."

Vici, who had walked over to his feet, was picked up and cuddled into Witthoefft's arms. She squealed with delight, but her parent's expression didn't move a muscle even though he'd normally melt from the cuteness.

The teen ran towards the terminal without another word, and ventured back into Route Twenty-Nine. And he continued to run, never losing momentum until he reached Cherrygrove. ....And then he kept running some more.

He was still angry. Especially with himself.

1.9 First Strike

"Hey, that's okay, it wasn't your..." but Witt had already run off and out of Route 46, "fault." She frowned. For a kid that was so intent on being friendly, he seemed awful keen on running off. Whatever. Pythagoras seemed alright now, he stopped crying and his breathing was back to normal. He was gonna be just fine. Still, it wouldn't hurt to get some help or something. As she stepped back through the terminal, she remembered about the police guy. He may have been a bit of a jerk later, but he may be able to help.

"Hey," she said to him, which easily caught his attention. He looked up from his magazine again. "Have you got a berry or something to help my Togepi?" The guard frowned back at her.

"Do I look like a walking hospital to you?" his eyes returned to his magazine.

"You're sitting," she corrected him. She looked down at his desk. The magazine was some kind of monthly trainer themed one. To his left was a half eaten sandwich and a mug stained with leftover coffee. "Can I have your sandwich?"

"What?" he looked back up then over at his lunch, then back at her. "What, no, why?!"

"For Pythagoras," she exhaled. She was getting a little annoyed with this guy and his lack of intelligence. She didn't care if he was having a bad day or something, it was his job to watch this terminal over. And watching over it meant talking to people too. The guard picked up his sandwich and took a bite out of it, so only a mouthful and a half remained. Adelle shook her head slowly at him. "C'mon, some trainer just kicked him in the face. Surely as a guard you should sort that out? He ran through here before."

The guard looked over at Py and sighed. "If I give it to you, will you leave me alone?"

"Why else would I stick around?" Adelle raised her eyebrows. The guard sighed again and passed the rest of his sandwich over (though his face looked rather reluctant about it). Adelle passed it to Py, who proceeded to scoff it down. That would probably make him feel better. "Thanks." And with that, she left the terminal, back into Route 29.

She looked back the way she came and saw a small figure running back towards New Bark Town. Stupid kid. Adelle flared her nostrils and began to walk towards the next town, Cherrygrove as far as she knew. In this direction, she saw another figure running. Was that Witt? He seemed in an awful hurry. Though, nothing could really tear her mind away from that stupid asshat from before.

"What a douchebag!" she growled, kicking a nearby tree as hard as she could before letting out a short yelp. Ow, that hurt. Probably not a great idea, but it let out her feelings and stuff. Though, she was met with another sharp pain as a pile of fluff landed directly on her head, sending her back a step. A small owl lay on the ground, a little dazed. She looked at it in disbelief. Had she really kicked the tree that hard? Or perhaps she shocked the poor thing. She quickly pulled out her PokéGear, noticing it was still on Witt's contact details. Nice number. She canceled out of it and went back to the PokéDex screen.

Hoothoot, the owl Pokémon. It begins to hoot at the same time every day. Some trainers use them in place of clocks. Oh. So it was a Hoothoot. She bent down and inspected it. Yep, still dazed. Was it okay to catch it? Did this count? Whatever. She pulled out a PokéBall from her bag and pressed it on the owl, sealing it in the capsule. It fell out of her hands and onto the ground and began to shake. Oh, the suspense. /sarcasm

Amanda Bel, Route 29 - I hate walking sometimes.

Amanda, with her new starter pokemon, Smoochum, managed to reach the Route 29 forest. Of course, Amanda wasn't exactly chipper to begin her journey. She glanced at her Smoochum with a bland look on her face, but as Smoochum looked back towards her, she stuck her tounge out. Like the lil' brat that she is. Amanda could only sigh in embarrassment as she then took a break from walking, and sat on a flat rock. She gazed upon her Smoochum...almost with disgust.

"Someone sure likes their Raspberries..." she said. "You know what? That's what I outta nickname you. Raspberry."

"Smooooooooochum! Smooch!" (Well its a hell of a lot better than your name, fool.)

"So...what do you like eating anyway?" Amanda then asked. "I don't wanna be your babysitter, but, I also don't want you to throw a fit when your hungry.

"Smoochum Smooch Smooch!" (Don't worry! All the food I need is the saaaaaatisssssfaction of put downing others.)

"And...I suppose you like eating that while singing the alphabet backwards?" Amanda groaned.

"Smoochum!" (Well... I can kick ass backwards?)

"Augh, what am I doing; I honestly have no idea what the hell you're saying." Amanda stated. "Honestly...can you say any other language; something OTHER than Smoochum?"

"Smoochum! Smoooch!" (Well, that depends. Can ya'll say a language that's not IDIOT? Cause I'm not fluent in that.)

But, Amanda just shook her head in disappointment. "I'll take that as a 'no'." she shuddered as she rose up. "Well...the note said we should start catching pokemon; which there outta be some in this forest, right?"

"Smoochum!" (Don't ask me.)

Amanda surveyed the area left and right. They'd hope to catch a pokemon for their team before sun down at least. Or else this could be a loooooong day filled with insults.
