I, do not though believe in gay marriage. I believe that...well how can I PG rate this....God made us like puzzle pieces for a reason. :3
This is a fair point, who's to say God (or possibly evolution/natural selection but lets not get into that one here) didn't design gay people as a form of population control? The more people are born, the higher the gay:straight ratio gets so the birth rate doesn't take a sharp incline. The planet has a finite amount of space and maybe homosexuality is one way of making sure we don't fill it up. It's a far more peaceful way that war and far less brutal than making the odd random person sterile.
I do not believe that there is a gay gene, and that people choose to be gay by themselves. I do, though, hold LGBT(s) in the same respect as anyone else, but I do not respect their sexual standings and choices.
I don't claim to know what causes people to be gay, because I don't. For all I know it could be a gene, brain chemistry, nature, nurture, random selection. Anything. What I do know is this: It, in no way, shape, or form is a choice.
Quick question: When did you choose to be straight? Did you just wake up on morning and decide that being gay was 'bad' and you shouldn't do it?
I can assure you, I did
not choose to be gay. I spent the best part of four years of my life trying to hide my sexuality from myself and those around me. I did not want to be gay, if I had the choice to be straight don't you think I would have taken it? Sexuality is as much of a choice as is the colour of your skin.
On the topic of a straight community (topic)...I don't think it works that way honestly. It's unfair because minorities skyrocket to the top, and we let them do it. Sure, there's an African-American month, African American Magazine, African American ONLY Colleges. Do you see any months dedicated to whites, any magazines, any colleges? (This is only an example, and the same thing goes for LGBT. I'm not trying to spark any racist thoughts.) As a side note, when I bring up this, people bring up the fact that we enslaved them. This makes me go: >.< They don't know personally the effects of slavery. That was, what, 150 years ago? Seriously. If they want to be equal, they have to push, too.
This, I kind of agree with, I see your point and it does raise some issues. Minorities have power because majorities give them power and are scared to offend them so let them abuse it and try to be nice and "PC" about everything, which in a way, is kind of patronising.
Anyway, for the record, apologises if I sounded harsh or anything at any point, wasn't intentional, just would like you to expand on a couple of your points.
