    ...lolsiggy.

How do you get people to look away from your computer screen when they are unwanted?

The only time when this really annoys me is... well, when Nan and Pop say "what are you doing?" and I say "getting music", and then they go away. However, when I was in high school, I'd have to pretend to be finding a difficult to find file on the computer. Although it's obviously a coverup, but it's an attempt. :D

I dunno. I don't usually. Maybe switch to Google?

I use a laptop, I could just close the lid or....simply walk somewhere else XD

I rudely tell them to get the hell away from me and close my computer, it depends on the person if I walk away... xD

I have 4 siblings... I'm allowed to do that you know... xD

I have this problem so I usually just lock the door to my room.

However, when desperate, I will not hesitate to pull out a long article on Wikipedia so the other person will just get bored and go away.

I minimize whatever window I've got up and then close my laptop lid. Fortunately, this problem doesn't come up often. Random people in the student union aren't as nosy as family XD

My mother and my brother always like to come in and look at my screen.

I always have a google tab up. Just in case they burst in!

I don't spy on them, why should they get to spy on me? :<

I minimise whatever I'm on and just sit there and wait for them to go away. XD Sometimes I can get away with opening a new tab and looking at random stuff on Google...

If it's my brother, then I simply play a song of mine that he hates. :D That makes him go away. <3

Either I open up a new tab, minimize my window, or just shut off my monitor. I haven't had to do any of these lately since my computer's in a room no one really visits. d("d)

I don't get people to look away. If I don't want anyone to see something, I'll lock my messenger (since I don't really care if people see what I'm browsing) but my family are starting to realize that windows randomly disappear when I press a few keys so... I must find another way.

I usually just turn around and stare at them, staring at my screen. It becomes just as awkward a situation for them as for me, and they eventually turn face and mind their own business. This is assuming I don't want them to look at the screen, of course.

My roommate has a habit of looking over my shoulder, but it doesn't really bother me too much when he does it. I guess he must be really bored if he wants to stand there and watch me type. Poor guy.

I switch to a different website. Google is my number one decoy. Everyone walks away. :)

    I don't usually have that issue anymore but often times tabbing over or switching programs will work. I learnt early on that it was very suspicious to minimize everything to the desktop so for years I always made sure to have an arbitrary folder maximized behind my active window in case I needed to switch quickly. XD;

Now I rarely even bother doing anything. If I'm looking at something questionable, I'll just close the tab if I hear someone approaching and otherwise I just don't care what people see.

It's so effing annoying when my grandmother walks around suspiciously staring at my computer screen, I think she knows I watch porn. I just open NotePad until she leaves. :/

For the most part, I don't bother anymore. If I have MSN or Skype open, I do mimize them quickly, as I hate when people read my conversations on there. My brother is especially bad at doing this. I'm getting to the point where I don't care if anyone knows I browse PC, so I just usually don't bother minimizing or switching tabs if all I have open is PC. If they try watching me while I type, that's a different story. I hate that, so I'll usually just stop what I was typing and switch to a different tab. I usually have two or three PC tabs open, so it's no big deal.

For the PC in my room, I don't even need to care because I always lock the doors as long as I am in my room. There's only my brother inside the room except me, and I don't mind him at all.
When I'm away from my room for a while, I will just log off, and the account is password protected.

But for the other PC, I just had to do something. It's not needed anymore because things have changed, but in the past I normally kept another tab open - easy as that.
When I was even younger, I just was too good at these (not that I am not anymore), because then I would actually have the need for these.
