  • A hyper beam heading straight at Ampharos. No way to dodge it now, there's really only one thing to do...

"brace for impact Ampharos, now cotton guard!" The yellow pokémon began summoning puffs of cotton that surrounded the pokémon, raising it's defence drastically. The beam of light hit Ampharos soon after and made him move back by about a metre, no dramatic damage done, as most of the attack was absorbed by the cotton. The pokémons defence boost had worn away now, and a few scratches here and there could be seen as Ampharos was worn down by the attack.

Yuki quickly called for the 'signal beam' attack, and Ampharos obeyed after a second of a breather. A huge bug type move headed straight for Flygon who was currently in the air recharging after it's hyper beam. Surely this couldn't miss?

Flygon huffed after the powerful move, however Ampharos only took slight damage. Skylar gritted her teeth as Yuki called for Signal Beam. A wild light shot towards Flygon, who was just about recovered from Hyper Beam. "Flygon, use Dragon Tail on the Signal Beam!"
Flygon's tail glowed again, though not as powerfully as it previously had. His tail smashed into the beam, and though he was still hurt by the move, the damage wasnt nearly as much as it could've been. Flygon flew back after the move and awaited Skylar's next command.
"Aerial Ace now!" Skylar called, and Flygon turned and dove toward Ampharos.

  • A quick recovery allowed Flygon to deflect the beam with it's sturdy tail, although it probably still took a bit of damage. Now comes the aerial ace, although Ampharos could definately withstand it. Aerial ace is a move that is extremely difficult to dodge, although some moves can deflect it.

"Now, Ampharos use your echoed voice strength 1!" The echoed voice slightly damaged Flygon, still the attack came down knocking Ampharos to the floor. He quickly got up.

"Again! Echoed voice, strength 2!" The echoed voice definitely caused a bit of a backfire as the move pushed back Flygon by about a metre.

"Haha, once he goes, you can't stop him, you come close, he'll strike you again with echoed voice. You've shown me all your moves, dragon tail, hyper beam, aerial ace, earthquake. All of these moves can easily be deflected with echoed voice," Yuki teased Skylar. Yuki was pleased that he got the timing right, otherwise the move could have been easily deflected, plus with Flygon's hearing it would have been detected quicker if he had done it was recovering.

"I don't know," the man sighed, before etching back into the darkness of his cell. He huddled in a corner. "Probably the same as you," he said quietly, but just enough for Tabris to hear.

"Tick tock, your time is up!" Another person, a girls voice, dismal, yet healthier. Tabris couldn't see her, but there was definitely a voice.

"The old man's right. Kanto just wants us to fight a war with the rest of the world. That's what the leagues about. the best of the best. Surely you figured that out earlier right?" Oh and this boat isn't headed for the resort island anymore, not since the commotion up top. Heard the guards talk about it. Oh and don't talk to the guy in the cell to the right of the old man. Completely brainwashed." The girl sighed. "That's all I know, sorry."

  • Tabris- Trapped Part 3

Cursing silently to himself as the man pressed further back into his cell, Tabris was about to do the same when another voice came from the darkness of the brig, a girl's. "Kanto just wants us to fight a war with the rest of the world. That's what the leagues about. the best of the best. Surely you figured that out earlier, right?" The girl spoke hidden from view. 'Don't tell anybody this, but a war is comming.' Tabris reflected upon his short conversation with Alder before he had headed for Olivine. The female's voice continued informing Tabris that they were not heading for the Resort Island, and to avoid conversation with the brainwashed man to the right of the first.

Tabris didn't really have a response to the girl's statements, as she declared that was all she knew. Didn't seem like they got much visitation from the guards, given the lack of information of the two. Slightly helpful, but not nearly enough to figure out what exactly was going on. Tabris moved back into his cell as the older man had done. He balled his blanket up and used it as a pillow. Closing his eyes, he didn't start sleeping but rather meditation.

The battle raged on, both trainer's continued to do well against one another, however it seemed as though Yuki had a slightly better strategy. Tsuya looked up to where Justin was leaning over the rail to also be viewing the fight and waved. Quickly before turning back towards Ampharos and Flygon were still battling. "Surely their both in a pretty weakend state by now, hmm Eevee?" Eevee looked up to her trainer and shrugged. The Pokemon could tell that determination was in both the combantants and that niether one would give up so easily.

Skylar clenched her fists as Flygon took damage from Echoed Voice. Yuki's good, she thought, but I won't give up just yet. Flygon's hearing is good, perhaps that'll be in his favor... Flygon stood in front of her, breathing heavily. He was tired, but not yet beaten.
"Flygon, Earthquake! And watch out for those Echoed Voices!"
Her Pokemon nodded, and his antenna pricked up as Earthquake began. He listened closely to Ampharos' movements, ready to dodge quickly to the skies if another Echoed Voice was fired out. He was much quicker on the air than on the ground, and he used this to his advantage.
Skylar frowned slightly however. What if Yuki decided a different move at the last moment? Well, Flygon was listening, so hopefully he could dodge it, but she began planning ahead.
If I use any offensive move, Cotton Spore will take the damage...Unless...Flygon blows it away? she didn't know if it would work, but it was worth a try if the move came up again.

  • Another eartquake. She was attempting to catch Ampharos off guard and then dodge his attack. Clever, but she doesn't know physics well. Yes a flygon can levitate but it's not exactly flying, so the wings only help it glide. So, all Ampharos ad to do was to lose it concentration.

"Thuinderbolt on Flygon." A bolt of lightning, a move that was surely to be unexpected, caused no effect but there was definitely a feeling that the Flygon got hit, if anything it might have cringed, hopefully. Before he could stop to see the reults he called out is next attack.

"Echoed voice strength 3!" This time the attack would be as strong as a STAB attack hitting a pokémon with normal effect. Next time it would be STAB super effective, then stab super effective critical hit. If the Flygon doesn't faint now,it's got to next turn, or the turn after.

Flygon was stunned by the lightning bolt, though he took no effect from it. He struggled to keep on listening thorough the move. "C'mon...C'mon..." Skylar knew Yuki would shoot off another Echoed Voice, but if Flygon kept listening, perhaps he could dodge it.
And there it was. Ampharos let out Echoed Voice strength 3, and the move blasted toward Flygon. "Get outta there! Dragon Tail!" she yelled desperately. Flygon shot upwards before the attack hit, and hovered above Ampharos. Skylar could tell he was exhausted, but they weren't giving up just yet.
"Now!" came the command, and Flygon flipped his tail straight toward Ampharos, his wings flapping desperately to gain speed to avoid a counter attack.

  • "Ampharos!" Yuki shouted as the unstunned Flygon charged head first into Ampharos. Haha perfect. It was exactly like before with the aerial ace, even better the flygon's got speed.

"And release!" Yuki shouted in realization of how close the flygon was. A burst of energy came from Ampharos, strength 4, and projected loudly against Flygon's earlobes. Hopefully the pokémon will lose concentration and crash, especially with all that damage.

"How about we just have a two on two Skylar?" Yuki yelled across the field.

"After all, this one has taken a while, and I wouldn't be to surprised by the next one."

"This one is definately about to come to an end!" Yuki teased.

  • Tsuya- Observer of Battle Part 2

As the first portion of the battle looked as though it were coming to a close Tsuya noted, Yuki's mention about lowering the Pokemon count of the battle by one, making the match a 2 on 2. She couldn't however tell if he was serious or joking to rub it into Skylar's weakend Flygon. With the Echoed Voice getting stronger and stronger Eevee even flinched as the strength 4 move was released. Tsuya quickly sheilded her Pokemon's long ears and continued to watch. "Ohhh, I can't wait!" She thought outloud, rather audibly. Eevee sighed, obviously recognizing the other Pokemon to be far out of her league, by appearance, at least.

"Fight against it!" Skylar yelled, as Flygon's tail connected with Echoed Voice inches from Ampharos' face. Flygon gritted his teeth and pushed harder, though he could feel his energy quickly draining. The move was taking effect, and Flygon fought to hold his concentration.
Yuki called across the field, offering a two-on-two battle instead. "Sounds good," Skylar called back, not keeping her eyes off of the two Pokemon. Suddenly, there was an explosion as the moves reached their full intensity and couldn't take it anymore. Flygon went tumbling back into the smoke. He was hurt badly, and Skylar knew the result before the smoke lifted. When it finally did, Flygon was on his back, fainted.

  • "Yes! One down one to go, unless of course it's a draw," Yuki said whilst laughing.

"Ampharos return!" The familiar red light signified that Ampharos was once again going back to it's pokéball. "Get some rest."

Yuki then tipped his fingers over two pokéballs in particular. He didn't want to use gallade quite yet due to it's long experience, it might even ignore Yuki, which is mainly what went through his mind. He then pulled out his net pokéball.

"Riolu, you can do this!" Yuki released te riolu from it's pokéball. This was riolu's first actual trainer battle, and Yuki could tell by the look on his face he was nervous but confident.

Yuki hoped that Skylar would notice he wasn't trying to be competitive this time, he was in this one for the training, but with Skylar's pokémon, the weakest she had was... Combusken maybe?

Yuki quickly refreshed himself on riolu's moves - force palm, pursuit, quick attack... and aura sphere, his most powerful move, be saving that one for later on.

"Flygon, return," Skylar held out his pokeball and he was engulfed by a beam of red light. "You did great. I'm so proud of you," she smulrd down at the capsule, then returned it to her bag. She looked up as Yuki sent out a Riolu after he returned his Ampharos. We could battle with our Riolus... she thought with a smirk. but she wanted to try out a different Pokemon.
"C'mon out Combusken!" her hands shook as she released him from his pokeball. She wasnt exactly confident in him, but now was a good of a time as ever. Her Pokemon appeared with a stretch, and he looked around curiously.
"Now Combusken," she called to him. "We're in a battle with Yuki, and I need you to try your hardest ok?" Combusken have her a blank look, then turned to eyeball the competition. He narrowed his eyes at Riolu, then shrugged and stuck his beak in the air. Skylar groaned. "Well, this'll be interesting. You have the first move Yuki."

  • Yuki got the first move, but he took a few seconds consideration. Whatever attack he threw at that combusken could easily be avoided or reflected, so all of his attacks would surely have to be combos, or what if he continued to use quick attack but used a move when close, that way quick attack would sort of work like a small agility before going in and attacking.

"Ok riolu, quick attack." Riolu turned it's head and shared gaze with it's trainer, and knew what was going through his mind.

The riolu charge towards Combusken, changing course every few seconds before leaping into the air.

"Now pursuit!" The pokémon vanished from the air and appeared behind combusken, ready to strike at it's back.

Yuki started off the battle with quick attack, which stuck Skylar as odd. She figured that he would use a move that have distance between his Pokemon and hers, which is what he had done with Ampharos. Oh well, if Yuki fights head on then we'll hit him right back! she thought, then snapped back to attention as her opponent called for Pursuit.
"Turn quickly and use Sky Uppercut!" Skylar was surprised when Combusken obeyed her. It seemed like battling was the one thing he enjoyed, and she was relieved at this. With a quick spin - and boy, was he quick - Combusken's arm shot upwards, shattering the move and colliding with Riolu, which sent him flying backwards from the force. "Now use Flamethrower!"
The wild fire-beam shot straight for Riolu, and Skylar wondered what Yuki would do to counter it.

  • Tsuya- Observer of Battle Part 3

With the second and final match of the battle underway Tsuya tilted her head sideways a little confused. 'Doesn't seem like an even match up.' She internally monologued, she didn't really know much about either of the combating Pokemon and therefore her thought didn't hold much meaning. "The only way this battle can be finished is either a tie or a shut out by Yuki, Eevee." She informed her Pokemon, who simply rolled it's eyes, already having that part figured out once they declared a 2 on 2. There was a spark of determination and readiness in Eevee's eyes though, being that she figured a match against a Pokemon like Riolu was more acceptable to her than say a Flygon or Ampharos. "Vee, Veh, Eeevee!" The Pokemon cheered for her old teammate, Combusken.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tabris opened his eyes and lifted himself up moving over to his holding cell's bars once again. "Hey you!" He called, still pretty quiet to the man who apparently had his brainwashed. "How you holding up?" He asked kindly, waiting for a response first before continueing any type of conversation with the man. He had been warned about the second man, by the unseen girl in the room, but Tabris was interested in just how far gone he really was, and who knew? The guy might actually ramble on something crypticly useful.

  • Drat, riolu was completely overpowered here. The best he could do was deflect attacks that came from Skylar. Hm.

"Riolu duck and dive, force palm go!" With that and tricky air movements, riolu managed to situate itself under the spot where he suspected flamethrower to it. As it came closer, he charged up force palm and when colliding with the fire it acted as a sort of sonic boom. Now Skylar definitely knows not to use flamethrower again, but Yuki knew she probably would to trick him. Riolu landed and stumbled. He was already badly hurt from the super effective attack, damn, and combusken hadn't even been hit yet. Yuki gritted his teeth and anxiously flicked through his options. Reveal now, or later? He wanted to surprise Combusken first and to do that he would probably have to pull of more physical attacks, then surely Skylar would think the next attack would be physical, then WHAM right in the face as combusken is confused as to why the attack is a special. Hang opn, Yuki had already used three moves, pursuit, force palm, quick attack. Obviously these needed a bit more exaggeration.

"Okay riolu, erm, quick attack." Riolu charged at Combusken, whos first reaction was to block, and headed into a punch attack, ready for hand to hand combat.

Combusken was pushed back slightly from the boom, but no real damage was taken. Yuki called for another quick attack, and Skylar grinned. What are you up to? Didnt you know that didnt work the last time? she thought, trying to figure out what the opposite trainer had up his sleeve.

"Alright Combusken, Sky Uppercut once more!" if it was head to head combat Yuki wanted, then he would get it. Both Pokemon were quick and skilled fighters, though it seemed Combusken had more experience as he kept his eyes on Riolu, waiting until he got close enough for the perfect time to strike.

  • "Riolu dodge!" Too late. Riolu was it by yet another sky uppercut, sending it reeling into the air, although it was still moving.

"Now let the heavens RAIN!" Yuki called forth, knowing that this was code for aura sphere.

Riolu who was till in the air did a quick twirl to regain balance, then pulled both arms out and started simultaneously firing aura spheres at the unsuspecting combusken.

"What the-?" Skylar was confused by Yuki's command, and suddenly Riolu sent Aura Spheres raining down on Combusken. "Combusken, use quick attack to dodge those aura spheres, then use flamethrower!" she called out, clenching her fists as an aura sphere exploded in front of him. Combusken ran out from the smoke, only slightly damaged, and Skylar breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly shot out from the raining aura spheres, being grazed by a few of them, but not taking any direct hits. Once he was in the clear, his trainer shouted out "Now!" and Combusken let loose flamethrower towards Riolu's back.

  • Tabris- Trapped! Part 4

"You there! Say something?!" Tabris called again. Perhaps the man truly was gone in a sense, but any little bit of information at this point would help out. He held his bars and waited paitently for any sign of reply from the brainwashed man. If he didn't get an ansewer soon, he'd have to try a different method. The other two that he knew of being held captive as well. Was the man who abandoned Kanto, and the girl who was out of sight. 'Damn that Alder, a war is comming. And he's the instigator. What does he have planned for us?' Tabris thought looking down the hall toward his Pokeballs hanging on a belt. 'Wonder how Snease is holding up?' A delayed thought, but it finally made it's way into Tabris' mind.
