  • I guess so.... But really? I don't like using up one move slot just for One specific pokemon. I'd rather have coverage for a few pokemon.

Anyway, Zapdos is severely outmatched to Swampert, I would just switch out. Don't be afraid to switch, you know.

  • But hey, when you switch in back you take 25% damage. Also, HP Grass hits (the rare) Hippowdon as well.

It's pretty useful as I've seen many Swampert's switch into my Zapdos and I laugh off when Hidden Power OHKO'es them.

how to best utilize volt tackle?

Working on forming a NU team and Raichu is a great candidate. I happen to have a pikachu with volt tackle which I will evolve to a raichu and hope to include in my NU team.

Volt tackle is surely an amazing move, but the recoil can be a nightmare on a pikachu's low hp!

I was wondering if there is a strategy for how to best utilize volt tackle. How to fire off volt tackles while still staying alive? All I can think of so far is equipping it with leftovers...but there are many better items I'd rather my raichu hold.

    suggestions?

  • Need some help on this moveset

    Sharpedo@Choice Scarf
    Rash(+Sp.attk/-Sp.Def)
    176 Spe/96 Attk/236 SP.attk
    Surf
    Crunch
    Ice beam
    Poison Jab/Earthquake

^^^I like poison Jab for Messing up Sceptile..But is EQ a better choice?

  • Poison Jab creates very bad coverage, and Ice Beam already takes care of Sceptile. EQ gets a lot better coverage. Also, instead of Surf, I would recommend Waterfall or Hydro Pump (not Aqua Jet, it's scarfed).

This set is really good imo,

    Jirachi
    Nature: Jolly
    EV's: 164 HP / 168 Atk / 176 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Moves:
    Iron Head
    Fire Punch/Zen Headbutt
    Thunder Wave
    Substitute/Zen Headbutt

Comments on the set copied from smogon analysis V

  • Also, Is this a Decent Lead?

    Claydol@Leftovers/Light Clay
    Careful(+Sp.Def/-Sp.attk)
    252 HP/16 Def/240 Sp.Def
    Stealth Rock
    Rapid Spin
    Explosion
    Light Screen/Reflect

I prefer Light Screen becuase my team in constrution currently lacks Sp. Bulk. Same reson i chose Careful Nature. Anyway, Do you think he makes a Good lead? I'm a little scared of Taunt But worse case Scenario I can still get rid of Rocks or Explode.(mismagius would suck though because they do have access to Taunt)

    Scizor Move-Set Help !

I am really stuck on my Scizor

This is its move set right now,

    Bullet Punch
    Swords Dance
    Bug Bite
    Brick Break

I am considering Roost in replace of a move , but I am not sure if I should use Roost at all

To Scizor users and experts, what is your opinion?

Smogon has a set just like this, I think its there second set. You would probably get more out of the one on there

For a pokemon with Volt Tackle.

You have to max out speed, and have a speed increasing nature.

    Here is the set.

    Jolly
252 ATK/252 SPD/4 HP (I would play with substitute, try to get at least 5)
    -Substitue
    -Endevour
    -Agility
    -Volt Tackle

You can take out Agility for Grass Knot, but I hope your using this in the lower teirs. Because, a lot of things would outspeed this thing instantly in OU or Ubers.

May I get some moveset stuff for an ElectaBUZZ please?

    No, normally.

    Electabuzz@Life Orb
    Naive/Hasty Nature
    4 Att / 252 Sp.Att / 252 speed
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Grass
    - Cross Chop
    - Psychic

T-Bolt + Hidden Powers for Stab and coverage, Cross Chop for special walls and Psychic for Nidoqueen, Nidoking and Venusaur.

Still kind of an inferior Luxray/Amparos imo.

    Wasn't expecting Psychic...

My Shinx hatches: Ice fang, Night slash, Return, tackle. Should I follow smogon suggestions when evolving to/for Luxray, factoring in Night Slash instead of Crunch? Does having IceFang/NightSlash "change" Luxray "somehow"?

Hidden Power Ice can be replaced with Ice Punch as well.

Also, if you want. A good Luxray set....

Crunch/Thunder fang or Spark/Superpower/Ice Fang make good use for a physical electric pokemon.

    Blissey @ Leftovers
Nature: (+Def -Atk) (Whichever this is :P)
    EV: 252 Def, 252 Spe, 6 SpD
    Moves:
    Counter
    Thunder Wave
    Seismic Toss
    Wish/Softboiled

    Any Ideas/Thoughts?

  • Um, if you're gonna give it counter you need more HP evs... Counter relies on the amount of HP you lose, replace all the speed with HP. Blissey isn't able to outspeed anything anyway. Other than that it's fine.

Blissey has enough HP, defense ev's are more important for me I think

You have T-Wave and speed evs dont help Blissey what so ever, period. :/

Put them in HP seriously, if you're gonna be countering physical blows with base 10 def you frikking need all the help you can get. @_@
