It's important to have your team focus around doing a specific thing, otherwise it just falls apart. You can't have half stall and half sweeping, basically you can't pull of either one with a team like that. Basically there are a few different types of teams:
Heavy Offense - 6 sweepers, rely on resistances / sacrifices to get pokemon in
Bulky Offense - A few sweepers (most of the time there are one or more setup sweepers) and a few tanks. Focuses on opening up a sweep for the few sweepers but not getting swept yourself
Stall - 6 walls, occasionally 5 + cleanup pokemon. Uses entry hazards, spinning, spin blocking shuffling and walling to stop sweeps and win.
The rest of the teams are less used because they aren't as effective, such as Weather teams, Sunny Day teams, Baton Pass teams and the like.
You don't need to stick to such a rigid setup, try out stuff and see if they work. Bulky Offense is a good starting point, it is the most reliable setup (unless you're ginger, in which case it is stall)
