Ok, so leik, I haven't played in liek, forEVAR, and I need to dust off the ol' coochie cobwebs. I'll need help creating a team. No, not a hardcoar team or anything, although viable for compettitive play.

u no, a team that's usable, even if it isn't gonna win any tourneys any time soon.

A few pokes I wanted to use was Vileplume (of course), Swampert, and possibly Flygon, either Venasaur or Sceptile, maybe Magnezone, and...

    ...

Well, I'm not sure. I'm not asking for the team to be made for me, but can I be compettitive using those pokes? Any ideas?

Swampert, Magnezone, and Flygon definitely. They're all good OU Pokemon. Venusuar/Sceptile *maybe*....they tend to get outclassed by better Pokemon. Vileplume probably not..it's slow, has a poor movepool, and Sunny Day sweeping isn't very viable in OU due to Sandstorm/Heatran being everywhere.

Well I always make Vileplume work in my teams, so that isn't *too* much of a problem, but I don't particularly mind if they're outclassed, as long as they aren't so bad they're unplayable, like, oh, Wigglytuff.

But those 4 (minus plume, and only using Vena or Tile), could work together in a team?

Well, you'd need 2 more Pokemon, but yeah, that would make a pretty decent team. Between Venusaur and Sceptile I would go with Venusaur because Sleep Powder, Fighting resist, and Toxic immunity are all really useful.

SD Saur/Tile might work well with Magnezone trapping things that wall them such as Skarm. And the drop in Scizor usage helps grass types somewhat too.

Latias and Mence got banned so grass types are actually alot better now. Venu also walls Breloom pretty well actually.

Okay, any Choice Specs Dragonite sets that might work? I was going for Rash @ Fire Blast / Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor / Surf or Hydro Pump, but I dunno.

Also, my latest team is this, I have some breloom problems.

    Azelf @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
    Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Fire Blast
    - Explosion
    - Taunt
    ---
    Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Band
    Ability: Sand Stream
    EVs: 160 HP/252 Atk/96 Spd
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stone Edge
    - Crunch
    - Pursuit
    - Aqua Tail
    ---
    Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Magnet Pull
    EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
    Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Hidden Power [Fire]
    - Flash Cannon
    - Explosion
    - Thunderbolt
    ---
    Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Inner Focus
    EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Swords Dance
    - Close Combat
    - Extremespeed
    - Crunch
    ---
    Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Inner Focus
    EVs: 252 Atk/204 Spd/4 SDef
    Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Dragon Dance
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Punch
    ---
    Starmie @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 136 HP/156 Def/216 Spd
    Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Rapid Spin
    - Surf
    - Thunderbolt
    - Recover
    ---

Things I was considering are Ice Beam > Recover on Starmie, because I don't get too much chance to use it and Brelooms seems to switch in on this. Ice Punch > Aqua Tail on TTar, because it hits Breloom too so it won't wall the whole set, it gets me almost the same coverage too. Hippo is still 2HKO'd with rocks up I think.
I'm not too sure about Lucario and I wanted a good grass on my team, SD Venusaur seems to be a good choice. I already had magnezone support too.

    Any other suggestions?

    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stone Edge
    - Crunch
    - Pursuit
    - Aqua Tail
Choice band TTar isn't that good.use this-
    Tyranitar@babiri berry/Life orb
    Adamant
    Dragon dance
    Fire punch(if u take babiri)/Aqua tail(depends which type you want 2 counter)
    Stone edge
    Crunch

    ---
    Magnezone @ Choice Scarf

    - Rapid Spin
    - Surf
    - Thunderbolt
    - Recover
No need for rapid spin-azelf resists sr with taunt. And,yeah,u hav HUGE fightin type wkness.

    Use this set on starmie-
    Starmie@life orb
    Thunderbolt
    Psychic
    Surf
    Ice beam

A modest nature helps this set.

    Suggestions in bold.Hope i helped.

    1. No, I don't want dual screen azelf since I had 2 choiced and it's waste of screens.

    2. I need extra power and pursuit support is super nice against random bad scarved revengers. Instant power of CB is super strong. It's pretty unexpected since tar is usually scarf today.

    3. Starmie is my only tiny defensive one. Modest also makes me die to other starmie and worse of anything to gengar =/ The set is supposed to outspeed gengar. and other base 115

    Any other suggestions?

    quick simple question:
how do i get pokemon to inheirit their egg moves?
Only Male Pokemon can pass down Egg moves. Breed male Pokemon with female of the same egg group or male Pokemon with a Ditto.

Ok so I want a very good competitive team I had these Pokemon in mind:
    Infernape/Blaziken
    Spiritomb
    Gallade
    Garchomp
    Lanturn
dunno what I want for the 6th one
Also idk what movesets, items, etc. to put on them so I'd like advice on all of that please!
Garchomp is banned so you can't use it.
Go to Smogon.com to find movesets for all Pokemon.

I'm lookin for a solid UU Rock/Steel/Ground wall for platinum, which could also do some damage, other than rhiperior(coz i can't trade on ROM)& bronzong(coz my team is too weak to fire)..

Which of these would be best-

    Bastiodon,Steelix,Registeel,Regirock,Ramphardos....??

    or is there any other?
    Movesets are also welcome.
Bastiodon sucks, Rampardos isn't a wall. Regirock is okay, but Steelix/Registeel are best.

    Steelix @Leftovers
    Careful Nature
    252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpDef

    -Stealth Rock
    -Roar
    -Earthquake
    -Toxic/Stone Edge

    Registeel @Leftovers
    Careful Nature
    252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 SpDef

    -Stealth Rock
    -Thunder Wave
    -Earthquake
    -Iron Head

Would CM Bronzong be viable at all, not really for competitive, but mostly for battle facilities.

It might work if you pair it up with a TrickScarf Lead and a Fire resist.

KanadeTenshi: Why don't you post your team as a RMT? It will work better that way.

    @ KanadeTenshi

Well you could make Dragonite bulky with Roost, that should handle Breloom easily and he also has Maggy to support him, it can also Heal Bell away Brelooms Spores.

    Dragonite@Lefties
    nature: Careful
    evs: 252 HP / 216 SpD / 40 Spe
    - Dragon Dance
    - Dragon Claw
    - Heal Bell
    - Roost

If i got the evs right, this beats Lucario after DD. Basically DD on Ice Beams and then Roost Heal Belling if anything tries to status you.

Id try Scizor over Tyranitar because it can U-Turn out of Loom so if it Spores you, you can just Heal Bell it away with Draggy later. Priority is good for this team as it is very slow, he can also still Pursuit.

Scarf Flygon/DDnite/DDTar is a problem for this team, because nothing can really touch them. Swampert might work over Azelf to counter them and does more in general for your team.

So you'd go on pursuiting with cb,ONLY WAITIN FOR SCIZOR/BRELOOM TO KICK YOUR ASS???
True,CB TTAR is a vicious brute, but it restricts TTAR's abilities as a sweeper.
AND if u STILL GO ON WITH CB,Get a jolly one,&use STONE EDGE/EQ,or even Crunch,so that u can hit HARD.

Get an azelf eith psychic if u don't want barriers.
    @Sir 1337 :
"Scarf Flygon/DDnite/DDTar is a problem for this team, because nothing can really touch them. Swampert might work over Azelf to counter them and does more in general for your team."

Yeah, a swampert would help, but a breloom would lol at you EVEN more. And an ice beam starmie KOs that lot.

DDtar outspeeds Gengar aftr a DDboost,or 2,and you can keep pursuit in that case>crunch.
AND starmie isn't that good a wall.
Get a timid starmie,if u want it that way,so that it outspeeds most of them.
AND use the RMTs next time.

I'm designing a team and I'm stuck on whether to use celebi or Shaymin.
    Here's the team:
    Azlef
    Gengar
    Milotic
    Celebi/Shaymin
    Dragonite
    Lucario

    Should I use:
    Celebi @ Leftovers/Bold Nature
    252 HP, 220 Def, 36 Spd
    -Grass Knot
    -Recover
    -ThunderWave
    -Earth Power

    ----or----

    Shaymin @ Leftovers/Calm Nature
    252 HP, 220 Sp.Def, 36 Spd
    -Seed Flare
    -Aromatherapy/Leech Seed/ HP-Fire
    -Earth Power
    -Rest/Synthesis

I think Shaymin is better, because I won't have a 3 dark/ghost weaknesses, but I want to see what you guys think.

Umm, 1. Sir 1337 clearly remedied the Breloom problem.

And 2. "yeah because starmie totally beats DDTar/SCARF Flygon and DDNite" -.-

    Please dont post rubbish.

    @ Above user :

Dont use Earth Power on shaymin. HP Fire hits everything that will and stops you being Scizor/Forry/Skarm bait and Shaymin hasnt got responsibilities beating Heatran anyway since you have Milotic. :/

Don't worry about level 100, Wifi does that for you. Or you can use Shoddy Battle or Pokemon Online to create your team.

Speaking of which, we don't create teams, we rate and improve. We can't do anything with this, we don't know any weaknesses you might have, don't know if you have a more offensive or defensive play style. Head on over to Smogon to get some ideal movesets for UU pokemon.
