Valorie had had her pokemon do various exercises whilst Selene's were training. Mostly aerobics, though in Dragonair's case she had Dragonair telekinetically lifting objects, occasionally including other pokemon. During this she found out that Dragonair seemed to have difficulty keeping things stable whilst lifting them. Well that was a problem. Being able to keep something stable was a key part of restraining pokemon with psychic powers. Perhaps she could work around this problem though... She abruptly found herself yawning. Perhaps she would try again later. She was tired.

Valorie had gone and tucked herself under the blanket, curling up against one side so that there was plenty of room when Selene had come.

Yet... she was not destined for sleeping well that night. In the middle of the night Valorie got up. She was able to crawl out from under the blanket without disturbing it too much so as not to disturb a sleeping Selene. She was of course, not actually awake. Once again her mind thought she was at home, but in this case there were no walls for her to run into. She proceeded to sleepily wander off. After a bit though, her brain failed to realize she was still on flat ground and she mistepped, tripping waking up to find the ground rushing at her. At this point she was quite a fair distance away from Selene, so much so that Selene wouldn't have been able to hear her even if she had been awake. She let out a light yelp as she fell face first, able to catch herself with her knees but not her hands. She quickly pushed herself up and groaned. Ugh. This again? Her body definitely did not appreciate being awake, so then why was she? She of course was not aware how serious a thing sleep walking was, being rather young and uninformed.

She had sighed, shivering in the frigid night air as she stood up. She had apparently remembered to grab her satchel in her sleep. Sometimes the things she did impressed her. She reached in and pulled out her phone, checking the time. It was only a few hours until morning. Ugh. What was the point of going back to sleep /now/? There was none, of course.

She supposed she might as well train. A normal person probably would've thought about how little her pokemon would appreciate training at this time of night, but not Valorie. Her pokemon were pretty much used to her absurd sleeping tendencies. As she stood there alone in the frigid night air holding a pokeball in her hand she couldn't help but experience deja vu. It was just like back at home, when she had been training to challenge the Iccirus city gym. She frowned at this reminiscing. She had been destroyed upon entering that gym in more ways than one. Both in a battle, and in her self-confidence. It was pretty much the sole reason she was so angsty about being the best. Because of that incident, her self confidence had been dashed to the point that she compensated for it by being so hard on herself and, to an extent, her pokemon.

She still remembered how upset she had been. Perhaps she had been naive, thinking she could just stroll in there after a bit of training, try her best, and win. At the time though, it had felt like her dreams had been crushed. She then reminisced a bit more recently, to her first battle at the academy with Selene. She remembered how it had felt like deja vu. Somehow, she had gotten it into her mind that she was going to be the best trainer ever, and facing the facts that maybe she wasn't was very hard on her. In fact, as it stood, she couldn't handle it. As the thought dawned on her that perhaps she wasn't the best, that perhaps she was just a sore loser, she became angry. She was angry at herself, angry at the conclusion she had reached, and part of her anger just wasn't directed anywhere at all. She was left to seethe. Even that wound up making her angry, however. Her bottled up emotions had sprung a leak. She was getting pretty upset She had nothing to take it out on either. Nothing she was /willing/ to take it out on anyway. She certainly had her pokemon, but she was not that type of person. She could've had a random stranger in front of her and still she would've preferred not to take her anger out on them.

Valorie was somewhat startled as a burst of white light emerged from one of her pokeballs, Dragonair emerging. Valorie looked up at her pokemon, who looked back down at her with an expression of concern. Dragonair seemed to be aware of the emotions Valorie was experiencing. For a brief moment this took Valorie off guard. Dragonair proceeded to lower her head down towards Valorie, and Valorie would feel rather indignant because of her anger. Yet, in Dragonair's presence the leak in her bottled emotions was plugged. She urged herself to calm down. Dragonair didn't deserve her anger. She wasn't just training Dragonair, she was raising her. She didn't want to be a horrible parent. Thus, she actually did manage to calm herself down, proceeding to hug Dragonair's nose. This lasted for a couple of moments before Valorie let go. The hug did her good, but training would help her feel better.

Valorie pulled out her other pokeballs and let her pokemon out. Axew and Frillish seemed less than amused. They weren't used to her sleep schedule. Yet, neither of them were annoyed enough to do anything about it.

"Alright you guys... How about some early morning training."

Charmeleon smarled, which is something between a snarl and a smile for those pokemon that have physical difficulty actually smiling. She was definitely up for it. The rest were more neutral.

Valorie first had her pokemon battling eachother. Seeing as she had an odd number of pokemon she simply had them have a free for all. Obviously, Axew and Frillish were at a disadvantage, and so she had to pull them out a bit earlier. In the end, Dragonair won. Valorie was not surprised. It was pretty much the most likely scenario by quite a bit.

Taking out a potion, she applied it to pokemon who needed it. Yet, perhaps she should tone down the training a bit for now. If she had them battle consecuitively, they'd probably be burnt out pretty quickly. She checked the time again. She still had plenty of time left. Abruptly a bright white light assaulted her eyes. She was momentarily blinded. What was going on?! After a moment though, she got enough focus to be able to see it was one of her pokemon. Which one though? It pained her eyes to look into the light. Whoever it was was short. Was that Axew? No, Axew was nearby, starring in awe. That must be Trapinch! After a moment the glow faded to reveal a Vibrava in Trapinch's place. Needless to say, Valorie was pretty happy.

Valorie then had her pokemon training their strength with some more aerobics, whilst Dragonair was left to train her telekinetic powers. She took a step back to watch, only to step on something that wasn't the ground. This was immediately followed by a pretty angry snort which startled Valorie so bad that she promptly made a rather pathetic squeak sound, quickly moving away. She turned around to see what in the world she had accidentally stepped on to find a Swinub there. The little furball had apparently been attracted by the smell of food coming from her satchel and had come on over to see if it couldn't help itself. Of course, it hadn't expected to find a human. Valorie blinked. It didn't look all that threatening, but it was a pokemon. Even the weakest pokemon could potentially kill a human being. She needed to take caution in approaching.

"Hey there..!"

The swinub snorted in response. It then promptly used a Powder Snow attack on Valorie, blasting her with a strong wind filled with, well, powdery snow. Valorie held up her arms to protect herself and was blown over and covered with snow. She shivered and immediately started to brush some of the snow off her. It didn't feel very good, and she knew her body heat would soon melt it, soaking her if she couldn't get most of it off. Dragonair promptly stopped what she was doing and floated on over, getting right in Swinub's face with a fierce expression on her face. All Valorie could figure is she must've hurt Swinub when she had stepped on it. It had felt like she had stepped on a foot anyway. Swinub didn't look like a predatory pokemon. That was for sure, which was why she suspected it must have some exceptional reason for attacking her.

Swinub made a warning snort sound which did not seem to phase Dragonair before blasting her in the face with a Powder Snow attack. Dragonair drew back a bit, the snow irritating her skin. She then cried out and promptly lit Swinub up with a Dragon Rage attack. That was all it took. Swinub was down for the count. Valorie walked over and kneeled down beside the twitching pokemon. Huh. She decided to take a chance by reaching down and touching one of Swinub's hind legs. Swinub promptly made a rather pained squeal. Valorie removed her hand and reached into her satchel, taking out a potion and promptly spraying it on Swinub. She sprayed most of it on Swinub's foot, but some of it was just sprayed all around. Swinub stopped shuddered momentarily before it stopped twitching and looked up at her. Valorie just sort of stayed crouched down next to the Swinub. Abruptly it pounced her like a dog who hadn't seen it's master in days. Valorie fell back with a Swinub on top of her, licking her face ... like a dog who hadn't seen it's master in days. She just sort of tried to turn her head away all like 'Blegh! Swinub kisses!'. Meanwhile, Dragonair hovered around them, a bit weirded out and frantically trying to decide whether to do something. After a bit, Valorie managed to reach into her satchel and pull out a pokeball, which she promptly put in the way of Swinub's affection and activated. Perhaps surprisingly, she actually captured Swinub doing this.

Valorie sat up and wiped at her face with her sleeve. Ick. Then she gazed at the pokeball, which was still.

"...Huh."

She then let Swinub back out.

"Go join the others exercising, alright?"

Swinub seemed hesitant at first, but then ran off after the others. Valorie placed her hands on her hips and watched. Meanwhile, Dragonair just sort of leaned in, kind of freaked out, and nudged Valorie lightly whilst staring into the distance at Swinub. Valorie just sort of glanced at Dragonair. What was with her? Then it occurred to her.

"Oh no. No way. No. /No/."

She made several different universal signs for saying no as she spoke. Regardless of the actual intent, kisses only meant one thing to Dragonair and Valorie wasn't going to have it. There was no way that she was going to have to explain this to other people. She could hear them laughing hysterically now.

Dragonair seemed to become confused and concerned. Valorie just sort of smiled awkwardly at her pokemon. Bless Dragonair's naive heart.

The sun was starting to rise. Valorie gazed at the sunrise for a few moments. She still had time for another battle, she supposed. Calling back her pokemon, she gathered them all around and introduced them to Swinub. Charmeleon just sort of looked over at the ice pokemon and growled, intimidating her. Valorie felt the abrupt urge to facepalm. Way to be a bully, Charmeleon. At least she wasn't outright fighting though. Valorie sighed. She was supposed to have gotten some training with the local fire specialist by now, but that seemed to have been postponed indefinitely. She vowed to get to it sooner or later.

This time, she split her pokemon up into groups for three seperate individual battles. Seeing as the pokemon would learn more from fighting foes around their own strength, and would last longer at that, she paired them up stragetically. Vibrava against Dragonair, Frillish against Charmeleon, and Axew against Swinub. She hoped that the Frillish and Swinub would be able to use their type advantage to make up for the fact that they weren't as experienced as their opponents.

Later, she wasn't surprised to find that Dragonair had beaten Vibrava. Dragonair was simply in a league of her own, even against Vibrava. The battle had gone pretty quickly because they had both had a type advantage against eachother. She did however notice that Vibrava didn't seem as strong as she had been as a Trapinch. That was odd. Meanwhile, Charmeleon didn't seem to care that Frillish had a type advantage. She was flamethrowing the heck out of that Jellyfish. Now, to be brutally honest. Frillish was not a very bright pokemon. Not every pokemon cold be gifted with incredible intelligence, but Frillish had been cursed with exceptionally low intelligence. Seeing as Valorie wasn't commanding her pokemon, Frillish basically just went nuts when attacked and flung random attacks at Charmeleon, rather than taking advantage of her water attacks and using those a lot. Thus, Charmeleon managed to beat her. It was really a rather pathetic battle. Neither of them really operated all that well without Valorie's guidance. She supposed not all pokemon could though. After all, that was why they had trainers! Swinub and Axew were having a stare down Neither could seem to get leveredge over the other. Axew took a powdered snow to the face the first time she had tried to attack and had quickly learned that hose kind of hurt, a lot. She was now doing a great deal of work to dodge attacks, even if it meant not getting attacks of her own in. Thus, they were both playing defensively, though they had been going at it just as long as the others, and had been working quite hard. It was clear to Valorie that Swinub actually had this one in the bag, seeing as Axew couldn't really get an attack in without getting hit. She decided to call them off, seeing as they'd both been trying plenty hard.

"Alright... you guys did good. Swinub, I'm really impressed!"

She reached down and patted Swinub on what she was pretty sure was his head. Swinub snorted cheerily. Axew seemed a bit let down though. Valorie promptly rubbed Axew on the head.

"You worked hard Axew. Good job."

At this point, the sun was up and people were starting to wake. Valorie yawned. It was a good thing she had built up a slight tolerance to being deprived of sleep. Otherwise she would be a wreck. Then her phone rang. Huh? Who could that be? Was that her Mom or Dad perhaps? It had only rang once though. Oh. Text message. Valorie was slightly let down until she oppened her phone. Oh hey it was Mark! And... he... had her hat?! Valorie flushed pink in the face reading his message. What were the odds of that?? After a few moments she sent a message back telling him that she was fine and that it had only been stolen from her. She then included an extra tidbit that read 'Miss you guys!'*

She closed her phone and stood there with her pokemon, bright and early, staring at the sunset... Charmeleon certainly seemed to enjoy it. She was almost glowing with--oh, wait. She /was/ glowing... with evolution. Valorie was suddenly alarmed. Crud! If this was anything like last time, Charmeleon's new form would come with an even worse attitude. What if she attacked someone?! She was /not/ looking forward to having another episode like last time. Charmeleon's size increased pretty radically. She was now finally taller than Valorie, though only by about a foot.

Valorie's eyes grew wide as the glow faded. She was starring at a Charizard. What she became aware of almost immediately was the wings. /Those wings!/ Charizard resembled a dragon much more than her previous forms. Valorie couldn't help but become awestruck. When had her pokemon become so /cool/?! This was quickly overshadowed by the fact that Charizard might have an attitude that could kill.

She cautiously approached, rather nervous, stopping when Charizard turned to look at Valorie. The look was mostly expressionless. Valorie felt herself immediately get anxious. What would happen?

Charizard proceeded to lift her arms and stretch her wings, yawning out loud. She then scratched her belly and regarded Valorie cheerily and without any sign of irritation, aggressiveness, or otherwise angst, the sort of things she would've already have expected from Charmeleon.

Valorie's mind just sort of blanked. Excuse me, what? Charizard was acting more like she had as a Charmander! Only, assumedly less naive. That was totally not what she had been expecting at all. She relaxed after a moment and let out a sigh of relief. Little did she realize that Charmander's evolutionary line was perfect symbolism for the aging of humans. Kids were normal enough. Then you had angsty teens, and then respectable adults. Course, Valorie was too young to actually pick up on that symbolism, but it was totally there anyway.

Valorie herself stretched, deciding that they had had enough for the time being and that she should wait for Selene to wake. She proceeded to head back on over with her pokemon, stopping not all that far away from where Selene was sleeping and turning to her pokemon. She pressed a finger to her lips, telling them to be silent so that the would not wake Selene. She then proceeded to turn and just watch the sunrise again. She wasn't sure why, but watching said sunrise somehow felt comforting.

Brian

Brian was waiting for an answer when Blitz suddenly lifted Vince off the ground and flew around, throwing him into the air. Bri watched the awesome aerial display with a worried look on his face. Then the two of them landed. Mark immediately volunteered to go next, but Bri was a little hesistant.

"Er..." he mumbled. Duster looked at him. She snickered a little.
"What, are you afraid of heights too Bri?" she asked.
"No, just of falling from them. I'm going to have to pass on that Vince. And you never really answered my question, but that's alright," Bri replied. He looked at Mark when he asked if Snype could go visit Thyme. Duster started laughing a lot at this. Those two...

"Uh, I don't see why not. But, she may have gone back to sleep, so be careful," Bri said. He had no problem with Snype hanging out with Thyme. Maybe he could cheer her up a little.

Snype smiled happily and ran on off to the Pokemon Center to go and visit Thyme. Mark let off a small laugh. "Geez, Snype is sure fond of Thyme eh? Though I guess we did say we would check on both of you in the first place eh?" Mark said. He then felt his Pokegear vibrate. It was Val. She was alright thankfully and said that the hat was stolen from her. Sheesh... that must have been an experience. Mark texted back to her.

"Heh, your lucky that Tauros didn't get you too badly. We miss you too!" Mark typed. He still had feelings for Val... maybe when she came back he would have a chance to hang out with her more. He felt bad about missing their planned adventure to the Volcano yesterday and hoped to make it up to her.
----

Snype wandered around the Pokemon center until reaching Thyme's room. He crept in quietly incase Thyme was asleep. "Hey Thyme, you awake over there?" Snype whispered.

Vincent:

<You're the human that can talk to pokemon correct?> Blitz asked Bri in a deeper and more mature voice than he had as a Charmeleon. <If you are then I must tell you that my trainer no my friend doesn't want to tell because it would just worry you more and he doesn't want that> The Charizard said letting out some flames from his nose.

"Alright Bri but you're missing out!" Vince said laughing a bit. "Mark you can come of course," He added as Blitz then glared to Mark. The Charizard then without warning and with great speed ran at Mark with Vince on his back. He then grabbed Mark and flipped him over on his back right behind Vincent and kept running. The Charizard's wings the began to spread as he was getting ready to take off.

"Wow here we go Mark!" Xack exclaimed as he looked back to Mark and then watched as his Charizard's wings stretched all the way out. His wings looked even bigger and wider that Vince! Blitz then began to flap his wings and Xack could feel the powerful winds being blown around under Blitz's wings. He then looked back to the two boys on his back and smirked as he then took off into the air incredible fast. As they flew up into the air Vince's gripped onto his Charizard a little tight as the elevated so he wouldn't fall off. He laughed as he saw a Pidgey freak out at the sight of a huge Charizard caring two people.

"Man this is great!" The black and white trainer exclaimed as Blitz began to cruise through the air with ease. "Mark how are you feeling?" He asked looking back to his friend.

Brian

"Blitz, I'm afraid that it's too late for that. I got worried when I saw him on crutches. And trying to keep it a secret will worry me even more than telling me will," Bri said, shaking his head at the Charizard. Duster Hopped down and climbed up onto Blitz foot.

"What are you doing Duster?" Bri asked.
"I want to fly too!" she said excitedly. Bri shook his head and turned to Mark.

"Mark, you should have seen how worried Thyme was when you guys left!" Bri said with a grin. Blitz then took off, which scared the **** out of Bri, and grabbed Mark and took off into the air. Bri leaned himself against the side of the building and watched them flying through the air.

Thyme

Thyme yawned and looked around. Meh, now that Brian was gone for a few hours, she had nothing to do. No one to talk to. Bah! She knew he had to get to class. She also knew he'd be right back in to see her when he was done! But still, she wished Brian was here, now. Or, rather, that she wasn't stuck in this blasted bed! Her thoughts turned to Snype. He had promised to come and see her. So, where was he? As if someoned by her thoughts, he appeared in the doorway, trying to be quiet incase she was asleep.

"No, but I talk in my sleep. Of course I'm awake. Mornings with Brian are not exactly quiet, especially when he's not feeling well," Thyme said. She sat up on the bed and looked at Snype. She vaguely wondered what he was thinking. To be more precise, what he was thinking about her. She smile at him. Probably the only person other than Brian that she ever smiled at. Not a smirk, but a real, warm, genuine smile.

Mark

"Worried eh? Heh, Well with Snype around I..WOAH!" Mark yelled as Blitz put him onto his back. Immediately Blitz began flying to the sky. Mark of course held on tightly. He could see the whole academy from the sky... and more! This was great! It made Mark want a Pokemon like this!

"A bit surprised but otherwise, yeah I'm pretty fine." Mark said. This was a hell of a ride...

Snype

Snype returned his smile and scratched his head nervously. He jumped up onto the bed with Thyme and sat down in front of her. "So uh... How are you feeling? It can't be fun being in a bed for such a long time. I doubt I'd do well in your state. Heh..." Snype said.

Selene
Ahhh it was so close now...in a moment, Ri would become a Raichu and finally, finally, their ambitions would be realised. Hold on. That wasn't right...Ri was her Lucario, he had already evolved! Why was he holding the Thunderstone?! Why was he glowing! This wasn't right! Selene didn't want HIM to turn into a Raichu, that was RYAN's destiny! As if in slow motion, Selene leapt forward with her arm outstretched as the light began to subside...she was too late! Ri had evolved into a-

Opening her eyes with a loud, shuddering breath, Selene placed a hand over her heart as it's racing slowed down eventually. She looked round and noticed Valorie was sat near to her with...hold on, Charizard?! Charmeleon had evolved? Valorie must have trained whilst she was sleeping, she was devastated that she had missed Charmeleon's evolution, but she was happy for her friend. That was so amazing! She rubbed her eyes and grinned at her friend, sitting upright she propped herself up on her hands and nodded towards Charizard.

"Good going Val! She's sure an impressive one! Look at that wingspan, I can just imagine that she wa-" she trailed off as a boy walked past them, stopping in his tracks and looking at Selene and Valorie. He checked his watch and looked up at them again, his expression quizzical before he folded his arms and raised an eyebrow at them.

"You two slept out here all night? Aren't you even going to the Port?" he asked and Selene stood up, straightening out her shirt and frowning at the boy, Blu landing on her shoulder.

"Why on earth would we go there?" she asked in an equally obnoxious tone as she reached up to pet Blu, scowling deeper as the boy scoffed at her dismissively.

"Haven't checked your messages? Okay. Well before you run and check your PokeGear, how's about a battle to make it up to me for telling you?" he asked with a smirk, taking a PokeBall off his belt in a challenging manner and staring at Selene. Sel glanced at Valorie before shrugging, if they had to be at the Port then she couldn't take too long about this...but the boy didn't seem all too smart to begin with, so she would cast him aside quite easily she figured, taking a Pokeball from her own belt.

"Sure. Just a quick one though," she grinned as they took their positions opposite each other, throwing them out at the same time. Sharpay...versus a Manectric. Oh man...that couldn't be good. The boy looked up at Selene and laughed out loud before ordering the Manectric to use a Spark attack, leading to Selene's smirk growing over her face this time. Brilliant, an attack that require physical contact...Sharpay had just the attack for that. "Sharpay, use your Octazooka!" she cried, watching as the black ink flew straight towards the electricity-covered Manectric, who was charging towards Seadra. Dodging the first Octazooka, Sharpay fired another one at the Manectric that hit with increased force due to his close proximity, sending the Manectric flying to the floor. "Okay Sharpay, don't let up! Aurora Beam!" she instructed, watching as the rainbow coloured beam flew towards the crumpled Manectric, hitting it's back legs as it hurried to it's feet and leapt out of the way. Realising that Physical attacks would be difficult with Sharpay's Octazooka, the trainer ordered the Manectric to use a Discharge, which made Selene gasp - the attack was very broad and was bound to hit Sharpay. "Focus Energy, Sharpay!" she ordered, hoping that if Sharpay drew her focus inwards enough then the damage would be limited somewhat. Sharpay's eyes were closed as the attack hit her, and her focus was broken as she couldn't help but utter a pained cry as the electricity coursed over her. That was a bad hit...Selene watched, stunned, as Sharpay's eyes snapped open and suddenly the winds began to race around her in a circular motion...hold on, this was Twister! She remembered Dratini using it before! Mouth slightly agape, she watched as the Twister tore towards the Manectric, who was caught up in the violent winds that thrashed and pummeled it before stopping instantly, the Manectric falling to the ground and pushing itself shakily to it's feet, firing one last Discharge at Sharpay before it fainted. Surely...but no. Selene's frowned deepened as Sharpay failed to dodge the electric attack and was hit full-on. It was a weaker attack, but combined with the damage from the last one it was enough to make Sharpay faint. Returning Sharpay, she smiled at the PokeBall. "Good job Sharpay, I'm so proud of you. You did brilliantly."

Watching as the boy returned his Manectric, she glanced up at Blu before nodding. It was her little blue bird's turn now. Blu flew out to the field as the boy sent out a...Nidorino. Huh. A Nidoking now a Nidorino? An interesting turn of events.

"Nidorino, use Poison Sting!" shouted the trainer, and Selene rememebered Nidorino's Poison Point - she would have to keep Blu away from the other Pokemon, lest he should fall victim to poisoning. "Ice Beam, Blu!" instructed Selene, watching as Blu swiftly dodged the Poison Sting and flew above Nidorino, firing her Ice Beam directly down onto Nidorino's head...Ha! His horn was frozen! That would prove bad for the Nidorino, Selene knew that they often used their horn in attacks. "Darn it! Okay Nidorino, use Horn Attack!" the other trainer ordered, and Selene paused briefly confused. How would Nidorino use Horn Attack when his Horn was frozen and Blu was up in the air? Was the kid hoping that a frozen horn would do more damage? Her question was answered as Nidorino leapt ridiculously high into the air - woah...how could that Pokemon jump so high? - and dove towards Blu, who obviously hadn't been expecting this and was caught in the wing. "Fly, Blu!" shouted Selene, and Blu capitalised on Nidorino being in the air to smash into him aerially, flying towards the ground at massive speed and eventually slamming Nidorino down into the ground. "Finish him with Ice Beam!" she ordered, Blu flying backwards and opening his beak, sending a huge Ice Beam directly at the Nidorino...who was frozen solid. The boy merely raised an eyebrow before returning his Nidorino and looked at Selene as she whooped and ran forward to hug Blu.

"I think that's enough for now," he said finally, walking forwards and holding his hand out to Selene. "That was a great battle, but we need to get to the Port. You should check your PokeGear too. See you around." he said finally before nodding to Valorie and running off. Selene watched him leave after shaking his hand and frowned towards Valorie. "Check our PokeGear...for what?"

Before she could find out for herself, however, she noticed a bright, very pale blue shimmering light and instantly knew what was happening...but unlike last night she wasn't sure what she felt about it. She turned around with a shocked face as Blu was engulfed in the light, and a small tear trailed down her face. Blu had been her Swablu for so long now...she had never dreamt about evolving him like she had with Ryan, and as far as she knew Blu had never been particularly fussed about evolving either way...but before she could think any more on the issue, it was done. Her Altaria stretched out his long graceful neck and unfolded his thick, cottony wide wings and looked down at her. His eyes spoke of the uncertainty Selene was feeling herself on the inside, and he floated down to her as she reached out for him, hand brushing against his wing. He felt just like he did before...he nuzzled into her hand with his cheek and she smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck in a tight hug.

"You look amazing, Blu. But you'll always be my Blu, okay?" she smiled at him as she stepped back, wiping the tear away and sniffing to herself. She smiled weakly round at Valorie and moved over to her bag, pulling out her PokeGear and reading a message she'd received from an unknown number...what?! What was this?!

Snapped out of her post-Blu-evolution daydream, Selene straightened up and frowned, holding her PokeGear towards Valorie. "Did you get this?" she asked, re-reading the message another time:

((Please note - everyone has gotten this message))

"Dear Student, Please ensure you are at the Academy Port at 10am sharp. The entire Academy is going on a compulsory field trip. As such, all regular timetables have been cancelled. If you are late and miss the boat, you will be disciplined on the Senior staff's return."

"Is this a joke?" asked Selene, hurriedly checking the time...ah. They still had time to go get changed...so much for her exile to the mountains to train...

Brogan
Pulling the sweatband off her wrist and forehead, Brogan checked her stopwatch. Ha, an hour...that would do for now. She had woken up especially early to complete her exercise regime, given that today was THE day of the year - the HoTa Corp annual Expo at Saffron City. Stepping into the shower, she smiled to herself. Today she would return back home...granted, along with all the other cretins in this school, but hopefully she could persuade her father to let her remain at home and take her rightful place at HoTa Corp by his side. It was about time he realised she and Jenna were miles apart, and she, Brogan, knew exactly what was right for her to do with her life an - ah dang, an extension weft had worn loose...she would have to text Pedro to get here ASAP - and that she would very well go ahead and do it. She had no interest in training Pokemon. She hated being here.

Stepping out of the shower, Brogan snatched up her Xtransciever and dismissed the message she had received about the trip - yeah, she knew about it already, why on earth were they sending HER reminder messages?! - before texting Pedro:

"P, extension EMERGENCY. Need you here NOW. Bring your blow drying brush. B x"

With a sigh she set down her Xtransciever and pulled on her white linen shorts and a pale pink cashmere V neck fitted jumper, sticking on her favourite Manolos given that they were her favourite pair for a special occassion. Sitting at her dressing table, she carefully applied and blended her make-up in the wide mirror whilst she thought about returning to HoTa. She felt oddly anxious about the whole thing...what if everything had changed? What if her Father had taken on new people who were better at their jobs than she was?

Scoffing to herself, she called 'Enter' as Pedro's distinctive triple-knock sounded at the door, and glanced at the hair expert in her mirror whilst inwardly laughing at herself. As if anyone would be better than her, Brogan, at anything to do with HoTa Corp...or just generally anything.

"Okay Prrrrincess! Let's get this job done and done you beeeautiful thing you!" he practically sang, reaching into his box of miracles and fixing up Brogan's hair. A classic soft, straight thorough blow-dry would be fantastic for this - elegant, sophisticated, and of course Pedro would be there before the ball tonight to sort her hair and the hair of her "friends" out with his team of fabulously flamboyant stylists. Brogan watched as her gorgeous hair was teased into shape and thought about the various arrangements she had made with the Expo organisation team regarding her classmates and the evening's entertainments...she had gone more than beyond the expectations of anybody, including herself, but mainly because she just knew these people wouldn't know 'Evening dress' if it danced nude in front of them. She didn't want to be shown up on her home territory.

Skye

Skye heard his X-Transceiver ding softly and sighed, reading the message. A field trip huh? Great... back on that boat. He wondered if he could just take his Lapras, Rei, instead. It might have been too far of a distance for her though... darn, that idea just went to pot. Pala was deeply asleep again, still dripping nose poked out of his backpack. Cubchoo were so strange, what with their permanent cold and all. Oh well, they were interesting, and that was more important than anything else.

His phone beeped again and he read. Why was Lenora texting him? Heck, he didn't even know she could. Oh... the info he had sent her yesterday... ah great. He had to update the meteor page. He wondered what trainer in Unova brought a Clefairy. Seriously, the GTS... He made a mental note to get right on it when they got back, if they didn't drown first. Rama peered up at him and Skye sighed.

"Huh-Human tuh-truh-trouble," he explained and Rama snorted, the fox cackling afterward. At least he understood that much. Skye walked away from the others, heading toward the port. If he got on the boat now, maybe he could sleep on the way there. Skye liked sleep. It was good to chill people out. Maybe that was why some people were so high-strung. THey didn't get enough sleep. Yeah, that could be it.

Ciel

Ciel weaved his way through the crowds. He heard some kid shouting about Team Rocket and hurried on. That was scary. Team Rocket had been in his home region, had defiled the place he had hid in as a child. He instinctively disliked them and the very possibility of them being around. His response to even a hint of them would be merciless attack. Because naturally, like any bad humans, they would attack first. Ciel knew that well; his psychic powers didn't need to tell him that.

He hurried on to the port, noticing some dust falling over his eyes. "Chika," he whispered. "Stop it..." He was trying not to laugh as his Togetic spun in the air and laughed. Silly happy bird.

Brian

Brian leaned up against the wall and stared at the sky. A few kids ran past and one stopped and looked at him.

"Hey, what are you doing kid? You need to get to the docks! We have a field trip today!" he said quickl;y before dashing away. Bri smiled happily. He loved field trips! But, where were they going? When would they get back? He called out Leena and Frost.

"Leena, would you fly up there and tell Vince and Mark that I'll be waiting at the docks as fast as I can get over there? Frost, would you go tell Thyme and Snype that I probably won't be back for a while? Then you two should come meet me at the docks," Bri said. Frost nodded and dashed into the pokemon center. Leena floated upward until she was out of sight. Bri shifted himself in his crutches and began walking toward the docks as fast as he could, but stopped when he spotted Skye.

"Skye! I didn't think they'd let you out this early! I guess you're feeling better now, huh? Anyways, I'm heading for the docks. Seems we have a field trip today! Isn't that awesome! I'd best get going, or I might not make it in time! I'll see ya there!" Bri said happily. He began heading for the docks again.

Leena

Leena floated up, up, up until she was infront of the Charizard.

"Boo!" she shouted happily. She whirled around him, barely keeping up with his relaxed pace.

"Bri told me to tell you guys that he'll be waiting at the docks! We get to go on a field trip today!" she said in human, so that the two boys would understand her. She whirled around happily and floated off toward Bri.

Thyme

"Well, I hate it! Hate hate hate! I hate being trapped here! But... I can't exactly go anywhere. The nurses are worried about my internal injuries," Thyme said. Then she sighed and looked at the ground. She had barely stopped herself from ranting at him about these stupid nurses. She settled down as best she could.

"So... Um... About yesterday... I'm sorry about what I did. Are... Are you ok?" she said. She didn't know how to ask what she really wanted too. She didn't even know the words to articulate it. She really wanted to ask if that had been his real feelings, because she didn't know anymore. She hoped so. She looked at the blanket and started blushing a little. If Duster ever saw her like this she'd have a field day! Then, Frost popped his head in the room.

"Hey! Loverbirds! I just wanted to let you two know your trainers are heading for the docks. They have a field trip today. Probably won't be back for a while. Have fun!" Frost said, ending his speech with a snicker. He ducked out of the room, barely dodging the Bullet Seed Thyme aimed at his head. He stuck his head back in and stuck his tongue out at them. Then he set off down the hall and out the pokemon center. Thyme leaned back. Odds were high that Snype would rather go out with his trainer than hang around here all day. Not that she blamed him. She wouldn't want to stay here either. She sighed.

"I guess I'll see you later... Um... You know, the field trip and all... But... Uh... There's something I'd like to ask. Um... Would you like... Er, never mind," Thyme said. Her nerve had dropped again. What was wrong with her? She'd never been this nervous before! Even when she went after Brian all those years ago. Her resolve then had gotten her through. She shook her head and got to her feet.

Why the heck was she so nervous? Either he liked her or he didn't. Worrying about it would solve nothing. But when she opened her mouth to speak, nothing came out. She shook her head and began pacing around, growing more irritated at herself by the minute. Maybe if he started to talk about it. She doubted that would happen. He was probably worried too. After all, she wasn't very good at projecting calmness.

(OOC: Bri doesn't have a phone or anything like that. :3)

Vincent:

"Blitz you're incridble!" Xack exclaimed raising his arms in the sky as he looked over the entire island. Blitz smiled to his trainer, he was happy to see him so proud and excited that he had finally evolved. The Charizard then spotted Valorie and Sel and figured the two boys are his back wouldn't mind talking to him. He was mainly doing this to talk to the other Charizard. Blitz then began to nose dive for the ground which increased his speed by a lot.

"B..Blitz!" Vince cried as the speed was causing him to fall back a bit. He got even more worried as they were getting close to the ground it didn't look like Blitz was going to pull up. In the seconds before the hit the ground Blitz expanded his wings and pushed the back to act like a parachute floating them safelty to the ground next to Sel and Val. The Charizard then let out a very loud roar and shot a Flamethrower into the sky.

"Hey guys," Vince said to Val and Sel. laughingly as he regained his balance and his train of thought.

Mark

Blitz was flying extremely fast. The wind was blowing right into Mark's face at high speeds... While flying, Mark got a message on his Pokegear. It had mentioned a field trip around 10 am. Well so much for classes... the field trip ought to be interesting though. Leena soom flew up to let the two of them know the same thing. He figured Vince would already get the message so Mark simply thanked Leena.

Blitz then nosedives straight down to where he saw Val and Sel. Mark didn't expect to see those two during the trip but it was convenient at least. "Hey you two!" Mark said happily as he jumped off of Blitz. "Did you two get the message? Field trip around 10... heh. So how's your adventure going?" He asked. He then looked at Val and gave off a smile.

"Hey val, I got your hat. It's a bit... um... messed up and kinda smells like Tauros but at least its sorta intact." Mark said as he pulled out Valorie's beanie.

Snype

"Um... yeah! I'm alright... hey don't worry about it! It was kinda on me for scaring Bri anyways!" Snype said cheerfully. He noticed Thyme was actually blushing for a moment. Geez... she really did like Snype. He was almost tempted to ask her why exactly she liked him... maybe at a later time. She seemed to be worried at the moment. Frost then popped into the room and told the both of them about the field trip.

"Tsk. Field trip eh? Wonder where they're going..." Snype thought out loud. Thyme was about to ask Snype something but then stopped in the middle of it.

"Hmm? What's up? Don't worry I got time!" Snype said happily, curious as to what Thyme wanted to ask.

Duster

Wow! That had been quite a ride! She hopped on the ground and was shocked at the cold. She didn't know they had flown into the icy plains! That was incredible! She wondered if anyone other than Bri had noticed her climbing on Blitz. Probably not. She ran out into the middle of them all. She was about to say hello, but she noticed the terribly filthy hat. Her eye twitched. She leapt into the air and yanked it out of Mark's hand and ran a few feet. She set it down and began cleaning it with her tail. No way she was gonna let this one fly!

Thyme

Thyme thought fast. Snype had called her out on what she had been going to ask, and she really didn't want to ask it. So, she had to think of something. After a moment she smirked. That would be perfect, if Snype would go along with it.

"Er... I was going to ask if... If you would like me to come with you and Mark on the field trip. You know, sneak out of here for the day. I mean, it's not like they can do anything for me here, and I'm so terribly bored. But Brian is already gone, and he has a full team already. From what I could tell, Mark only has four pokemon. So... How about it? I... I will admit, I just want to spend the day out of here, and with you," Thyme said. She regretted saying that as soon as she finished. What if he didn't want to?

"Oh, and don't worry about me! I'm tougher than I let on. I've only been exagerating because, well, I like it when Brian acts like that. So, err, do you want to? Have me come too? I'm going nuts in here, and Brian would nevver let me leave! He's too worried I'll push myself too hard and get hurt again," Thyme said, trying to cover the last few words from her previous speech up.

Zaraneth

Zara sighed. These people were still saying he and Quin were nuts. Quin, of course, was almost enjoying all the attention. He stepped down and walked toward some Suicune student. Zara smirked inside.

"Quin, let me handle this. I'll get stronger and prove your point at the same time," Zara asked. He was desperate for a fight!

"Hm... Alright Zara, just don't hurt him too bad," Quin said. Zara took over as the student began openly laughing at him.

"Who you talking too? You got an imaginary friend there? Isn't that just adorable!" he said mockingly. Zara slapped him across the face and he fell to the ground. Zara gave him a small, innocent smile. The kind of smile that seemed to chill the air around him. The student got scared and backed away.

"Send out your pokemon. Let's have a battle. I'll show you I'm right," Zara said. His tone was level and Icy. Even a little evil. He had this amused and sinster look on his face. The student was now trembling. Several of the others were laughing at his misfortune. Then his phone rang. Zara checked the message. It told him to head for the docks. Zara shruggeed and walked away.

"Freaking Nutter!" the student said. Zara turned and threw a rock at the boy, hitting him in the head and knocking him back to the ground. Before anyone could do anything Zara was gone. Zara laughed at that. He had made the boy bleed. That was awesome! Quin sighed inside. Zara ignored him.

Skye

Skye gave Bri a cheeky smile as he followed the hobbling boy. Rama was cackling derisively. He didn't notice his leg was bleeding slightly through the bandage as he walked. "Theh-hey didn't," he replied innocently. "I deh-heh-cided tuh-to luh-leave eh-early." He scratched his arm and chuckled at the sound of Pala yawning and poking her black eyes out of his backpack. Pala squeaked her greeting at Bri, puffing out excited puffs of snow. Skye laughed. He loved his little living air conditioner. His Cubchoo was too cute. As if knowing his thoughts, Pala growled cutely, staring innocently at the clouds.

"We jumped out the window," Rama told Bri cheerfully, grinning like a fool. "And then Skye nearly drowned at the beach! A Lapras saved the reckless idiot. Skye needs a leash! Do you have one in your room so I can drag him everywhere?" Skye snorted and shook his head. More like Rama needed the leash. Of course he wouldn't say that aloud. That was a waste of time and witty banter. Ha ha. Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw the odd dark boy from the Suicune dorm. He almost called out to him but in the end Skye decided against it. The kid was shy. There was no need to freak him out more than he possibly permanently was. He did wonder who the kid was though.

Snype

"Hmm... so what your saying is... you want me... to sneak you out of here, thus giving me the burden of taking care of you and looking after you, as well as making Mark mostly responsible if anything were to happen to you...?" Snype said. After a long pause he gave off a cheerful laugh and gave Thyme a light pat on the back.

"Kehehe! Why not? You aren't the only one that's bored! I'll gladly sneak you out of here! But Just to be safe, I gotta make sure your strong enough to at least walk. Hey if Bri spots us, we'll have to come up with a convincing excuse then eh?" Snype said.

Brian

Bri gasped at Skye, then started laughing a little.
"You shouldn't do stuff like that Skye! What if that Lapras hadn't been there!" Bri said astonishedly. Skye was even more reckless than most of the rest of his friends! Seriously, with friends like them who needs enemies. His thoughts turned to what he and Mark had talked about last night, about trying to discover the cause of all the problems at the academy. He knew he was just as reckless as the rest of them. And that is why he was laughing.

"Rama, I don't think a leash would do any good. He'd likely end up dragging you around, not the other way around!" Bri said as he took notice of someone else following them. Or, was he just imagining things. He decided not to bring it up. Skye would probably think he was seeing things.

Thyme

Thyme frowned at Snype as he spoke. Her heart sank. She picked herself up off the bed and walked over to the window when he laughed and patted her on the back. Needless to say, she was not amused by his sense of humor.

"See if I can walk? My arm and chest were hurt, not my legs! I'm very weak right now, but I'm sure I can keep up! This place is so boring! And if anything happens, I've read through some of what Brian wrote as notes. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to handle myself, so long as I don't have to battle anyone. And as for Brian, I'll talk to him if he does see me. He'll be disappointed in me, but everyone else seems to be leaving the hospital early. And besides, it'll only be for the field trip. After that I'll come right back here, I promise!" Thyme said. She snaked her vines up and opened the lock on the window. Then, she grasped it with her one good hand and tried to pull it open. All the she accomplished was to make herself a little dizzy. She shook it off and grabbed the window again, and pushed on it with her vines at the same time. Still, it wouldn';t open. She cursed that boy again. If he hadn't hurt her like this she'd have the strength to open it no problem!

"Gah! I can't open this stupid window!" Thyme huffed. She sat down again. Well, it looks like Snype's concerns were right. Why did she have to make everything like this? She sighed, and tried to think what to do next. Did she stay here? Well, Snype had to leave soon. She didn't want to be alone. She wanted to be with him. She looked pleadingly at him, the most weakness she's ever shown except to Brian and his pokemon. And that boy. She needed help, and she oddly didn't mind asking Snype. It was like she trusted him.

"Hey relax Thyme. Here lemme get that for you." Snype said as he pushed open the window. Snype appreciated the cold breeze that blew in. He then looked back at Thyme and sat next to her. "Hey Thyme, Promise me you won't get too worked up out there? I'd feel terrible if you got hurt again... Hmm, wonder where they're going? If everybody in the school has to go then it must be important. Important field trips don't exactly sound too fun to me personally. Hehe. Then again, I always try to find ways to make any kind of experience fun! I mean, with you around it oughta be fun anyways!" Snype said cheerfully. He noticed beforehand that Thyme frowned at his previous joke.

"Heh... Sorry. I'm kind of a sucker for trouble. Sorry again for scaring Bri before. I kinda did get a little carried away.

Skye

"Yeah it wouldn't," Rama laughed. "Besides, he doesn't chain me I won't chain him!"

Skye hummed. "I huh-hate hoh-hoh-hoh-hospitals," he said cheerfully, unabashed. "Beh-heh-sides, I-I-I cuh-houldn't miss thih-his!" The last part had a flicker of sarcasm in it. "I wah-hanted a swuh-swuh-swim. I dh-hidn't muh-muh-mean to go-ho that fuh-fuh-far. Beh-heh-sides," He held up Rei's Pokeball. "I cuh-cuh-caught her."

"Only because she couldn't follow you around class," Rama whined. Skye almost pouted. Almost. That wasn't his style though he agreed with Rama's emotions. Rama knew someone was behind them but didn't call the boy out. The quiet boy was scared. As if to prove it, the boy rushed past with his Togetic, suddenly looking startled. The Togetic was looking confused and worried.

Ciel

Ciel hated when he got premonitions, especially in public. Normally they didn't happen, not without a Psychic Pokemon nearby. But of course, knowing his luck, he got one. IT was a minor one but they always scared him, especially when he was not at home to have an interpreter. IT was because at that crazy kid talking about the Rockets. He knew it was. That sick feeling... there was no denying it.

FInally he slowed down a little, trying to relax. It would be okay right? It had to be. Ciel was afraid of humans. It didn't mean he wanted them to get hurt. That was the last thing he wanted. He tuned the image of a rock slide out of his mind and relaxed, CHika fluttering gently over his head.

Valorie's Post

Valorie greeted Selene with a wave of her hand. It was the time of morning where her body had stopped trying to get her to sleep. However, she would probably pay for it later in the day. The responsiveness of one's brain simply got slower and slower until they slept. Ironically coffee was extremely effective at countering this effect, though it could only stop the condition from getting worse, not improve it.

"Morning Selene!~ Isn't she awesome??"

Valorie couldn't help but wonder if he had known about this when he had given her Charmander. That would've been one heck of an elaborate scheme. Meanwhile, Charizard seemed to notice that she was being admired and closed her eyes, spreading her wings and striking a pose. Her eyes then opened when she became aware of someone else. Meanwhile, Dragonair was eyeing Swinub in the same way one would eye a criminal. Swinub didn't seem to notice... probably because Swinub had fur covering most of his eyes.

Valorie noticed that a boy was stealing Selene's attention and stopped to watch. Huh. A battle to start off the morning. Valorie crossed her arms under her chest and leaned back against Charizard to watch. Charizard didn't seem to mind this. It was a comfortable position, mainly because Charizard radiated quite a lot of warmth. Dragonair diverted her attention from Swinub and moved on over near Charizard to peer at Valorie. Of note was that Dragonair was still much larger than Charizard, mainly due to her length. Charizard regarded Dragonair blankly before returning her attention back to the fight. Back when Charizard was a Charmeleon, Dragonair tended to irritate her with her presence. Valorie was pretty happy with the changes, needless to say.

After the battle, Valorie was asked if she'd gotten a message about the field trip. She pulled out her phone and checked it. Sure enough, there was a message.

"Yeah..."

Abruptly as she was checking her phone for other things she heard the sound of something flying nearby. She looked up to spot a Charizard with two familiar boys riding it. Holy crud it was raining men! Jokes aside, Valorie cromged a bit as the others' charizard landed and shot off a freaking flamethrower. Charizard was not amused by this, as she felt obligated to protect her squishy little human from possible danger. Charizard snorted, a bit of smoke drifting out of her nostrils.

Valorie glanced between Vincent and Mark. Mark was holding something familiar. Oh god it was her hat. She just sort of flushed a light pink, rather embarrassed. Her hair was currently hanging freely, nearly obstructing her eyes almost constantly. Though one could've probably deducted it from before, her hair was very long and wavy, and seeing it hanging freely was a whole different visage.

"Hey Mark! Oh... thanks!"

Mark might be able to notice she had a nice cut on her cheek from the whole Tauros incident.

Then the hat was grabbed by Duster and Valorie just sort of stared awkwardly, concerned. She really didn't want to wear it. Talk about gross. She'd totally take it though. I mean, it /was/ hers, after all.

"..."

MacKenzie's Post

Meanwhile, MacKenzie had a thermos full of coffee. She was enjoying it at the port. She was of course early, which was totally unlike her. Yet, irony. She could basically try to make anything look cool. Perhaps one might have wondered why she wasn't eating anything to go with it. She had of course stopped earlier, and was currently just allowing herself to assimilate breakfast.

After a bit she pulled out her tablet to check the time before idly cruising the web. She was of course plenty willing to come along on the field trip, which would probably manage to annoy her at some point.

Duster

Duster ignored everyone staring at her as she worked. Finally the hat, well, it didn't look good as new, but it was much better looking than before. And it was covered in slime anymore. And it now smelled like her tail, which she had been using perfume on ever since that lady had given her a sample in the store in the pokemon center. She picked up the hat and walked over to the girl it belonged to. She grinned at her and held it up. She almot lost her balnce. Her tail was now covered in the nasty goo that had been on the hat. Great.

Thyme

Thyme waved thanks to Snype as he opened the window. In truth, she had been planning to leave through there. After all, they wouldn't let her out the front door, would they? She felt the chilling breeze and it felt good on her skin. She thought about what Snype had said.

"It doesn't matter where we go. And if it really is important, then I definately need to get there. You know how Brian is, he'd forget all about whatever they wanted to share. And I'm sure we can find something fun to do," Thyme said. She shrugged at him.

"Don't worry about it. He's already forgotten about it. Besides, I got you back for that. Though I'll bet you loved it," she said with a sly smile. She had certainly enjoyed that, until she confused herself. Then she had been confused, and still a little excited. She smiled him. What to do now...

Brian

Brian looked happily at Skye when he said he caught the Lapras.
"Congradulations! I'm glad that you caught her!" Bri said happily. Then a boy ran past, followed by a Togetic. They looked distressed. Bri wanted to chase after them, but his leg was too injured. He could not move fast enough to catch up, nor did he try.

"I wonder what that was all about?" Bri said quietly. He shook his head quietly at the fleeing pair.

Skye

The elder smiled at Bri's praise then watched the other boy go. "Heh-he suh-suh-saved meh-me wih-hith his Togetic yeh-yesterday," Skye commented. He reclipped Rei to his belt and took a slow, easy breath. He smiled to himself and then frowned. "Suh-heemed shy." He scratched his head. The kid could have had a bad experience with people. He seemed absolutely terrified of then. Or maybe it was just large groups. Skye could understand that one.

"Maybe you humans have screwed up one of your fellow man," Rama offered jokingly. He didn't mean it but the possibility was high. Many things people did could mess with others. It was how things could happen.

Pala squeaked at Bri. "Play?" she asked the boy, oblivious to the crutches.
