THE POKEMON GAMES: A POKEMON HUNGER GAMES CROSS OVER ROLEPLAY

The Pokemon World is in turmoil.
The Story:

Team Rocket has finally taken over the entire Pokemon Universe. They are too strong to be overthrown, and they have such a stronghold in every region it is impossible to even think of trying to rebel. Yet. They have brought all of the Pokemon Regions into poverty.Families are barely able to survive. It is not uncommon to see people starved to death.

The regions, once being mass and filled with people and pokemon, are now desolate wastelands in most parts. Now only 5 cities remain. Saffron City, Goldenrod City, Slateport City, Jubilife City, and Castelia City. The regions have now become specialized to cater to what Team Rocket needs. Kanto is used for the Guards, the people who keep others in check. They are the toughest, their tribute almost always wins, and somehow they like participating in The Games, Johto is used for Textiles, Hoenn is used for the Sea and Sea Products, Sinnoh is used for mining, and Unova is used for Technology.

Team Rocket, feeling like starving and killing people and pokemon wasn't enough, devised a competition like no other. The Pokemon Hunger Games. 2 Child Tributes from each region, one male and one female, are chosen randomly from their region to go compete. The Entralink in Unova has been rewired, becoming an Ultimate Stadium, and a nightmare. The Tributes train for 1 week, are paraded and evaluated, and then compete. This competition sounds simple enough, but it isn't in the slightest. They have to use Pokemon to kill each other.

How you fit in to all of this:

You are a child, ranging from the ages of 12 to 18, living in one of the regions. It is the 67th Hunger Games and the tension is high in your region. You and your family, if you have one, stay close together because you might be leaving ,and they might not see you again. Everywhere you go you see children in the nicest clothes they own, huddled with their families crying, and saying goodbye. The whole region gathers in the town area and watches other reapings, but mainly waiting for theirs.

You decide whether you are poor or rich, whether you are hungry or if you use the black market to survive. Maybe you hunt. Maybe you have a Pokemon or a family that you have to leave behind. Maybe you are an orphan. All of you will only have one thing in common. You are all tributes in the 67th Pokemon Hunger Games. Do you enjoy being at The Games, are you terrified? What do you do in the Games? Do you start a rebellion? Do you team up with someone? Throughout the RP I will give opportunities to do all of these. What will you decide to do? There are so many options. All you have to know is, are you going to survive?

You all have the choice to be a bigger person and in the games stand up for what you think is right. Team rocket does have faults, but you just have to find them and use them to your advantage. You can team up with other tributes and make a huge plan to take down Team Rocket, or you could put into action a stealthy solo mission. Or, just don't stand up to them at all. Kill everyone else until you win.Throughout the RP I will give you subtle hints and opportunities to cause a small rebellion. If you pass on them, however, the ending will become completely different. The possibilities are endless, the consequences eternal.

The Mechanics of the RP:

Unlike the Hunger Games, instead of weapons, the Pokemon will be used. You will still find supplies like backpacks with blankets and kindling, but instead of finding a sword or a bow and arrow you will find Poke balls, maybe even a TM if you're lucky. I will serve as the GM, but I will also play non playable characters if they are needed in the story, which is doubtful. We will decide in the beginning of the Role Play who dies in order, who wins, or if there is a rebellion. If you decide to have one victor, you will PM your one vote for every round to me and I will post the order of who dies in what chapters in the roleplay, and who the victor is.

I want this Roleplay to be fair and fun, and you will have a special and fun role if you die, but its a secret for now. The pokemon that can be found are Bidoof, Magikarp, Abra (Its only knows teleport), Caterpie, Weedle, Spinda, Zubat, and Rattata. BUT there is one special instance.One of you can receive one of any of the starter pokemon from every region, BUT it comes with a serious price. You decide whether or not you want to take that chance. Every chapter I will choose one person to receive a TM based on their writing. You decide what type of move it is, and depending on my mood I will choose a TM for you.

RULES:

1. As Game Master, I have the final say in every dispute.
2. Please don't complain about the Pokemon Choices. These pokemon are under estimated, and if used correctly, can be incredibly effective.
3. This is a chaptered RPG. Pokemon will not have levels, instead they can advance and evolve depending on the number of battles/scenarios they are involved in and, again, the quality of your posts. The more creative you are, the more likely it is that your Pokemon will be one step closer to evolving.
4. Don't complain about dying soon. No one will die for at least 3 to 4 chapters in and Tributes who die have a very fun job.
5. There is going to be a rough order of who dies, BUT is someone decides to sneak attack on someone else and kill them, I may or may not accept it. But remember, I call the shots.
6. Instead of fainting, Pokemon will die.
7. USE YOUR SURROUNDINGS. BE SMART. Use moves in creative ways that haven't been thought about because they have never been used in this situation. If you're Pokemon is hurt, use your surroundings in a creative way. CHANCES ARE I WILL REWARD YOU FOR YOUR CREATIVITY.
8. The death of the tributes will almost be like a murder mystery, I decide who murders who. BUT I also decide if they die in this encounter between the two of them. If the attackers skills aren't very polished, their victim can get away. If a person masterfully escapes death 2 times they don't die. But I decide if someone dies in an encounter between two people. Remember, the tribute who could be chosen to get murdered could always kill the murderer if their will is high enough.
9. If you murder someone, you can steal their Pokemon. I, however, decide how they act towards you.
10. Remember to be active and post.
11. All PC Rules apply

About time a Hunger Games based RP starts.


Name: Stella Equaine


Gender: Female


Age: 17


Region: Hoenn


History: When she was born, her father was very sick with an illness of an unknown source. Her family were on the low chain, poor people who barely had anything to eat or strive for. Her mother did all the job to gain the necessary food for her family. Being the oldest of the siblings, she had three sisters and two brothers. She was very nice and obedient back then , yet her personality changed when her father had died from the illness. She was only 6. Her two sisters then took the illness, which was now considered contagious. For the sake of the city and the village, they had to exile those who had it. Luckily, only a few had it: 8. However, her three sisters and mother were taken since they showed symptoms of the disease. At the time, she believed what the officials had said about them returning them, yet once she grew up, she realized what had happened. It was when she was 13 that she realized they weren't coming back. Instead of doing what other ordinary children did, they took their old home and the three left started to work to help themselves out. Stella became a fisherman, along with her two brothers.


When she turned 15, she had found a wounded Delibird on the barren streets one night as she came from her night shift of work as a fisherman. Adopting the poor thing, they took care of it and kept it a secret for only them three to know. She decided to leave her two brothers not work, who were only 13 and 9 years old at the time, since the Delibird would enlighten their life from all the horror outside. It was until she turned 17 that everything happened however.


Appearance: Stella has light blue hair as well as light blue eyes. Her hair reaches to her waist. It is very thin and silky, so she ties it to a very loose ponytail. Quite messy though, and broken, there are still loose strands and bangs that hang loose, or are simply hanging there. She has pale skin, due to her mother being so pale to the extent of being considered a "vamp". Her father, on the other hand, is very tan. They balanced out, and made a pale child. She has a beauty mark over the top left side of her upper lip. Quite skinny, she has the necessary muscle and is very light. Her height is 5 feet and 6 inches.


She wears a tight black with dark blue lines that run verticaly undershirt underneath her small jacket. Her dark blue jacket is cut to reveal her belly, yet has long sleeves that reach up to her elbow, where it is folded. Stella wears denim shorts and a simple black belt to prevent her shorts from falling off. Her style of shoes are "VAN" shoes, which are skateboarding shoes most likely. They're wide, dark blue, and have a big tongue. Her black socks are barely visible under her shoes, since they are quite small. On her hands she wears black gloves. The gloves are thick and pretty firm, since she doesn't really like harming her hands as she climbs and such.


Personality: At first glance, she may seem laid-back and irreverent, yet her interior hides a brutal, stubborn, short-tempered, and dark person. She's very sarcastic, revealing a psychotic grin whenever she becomes excited however, for her to be that excited is very rare. She is very open-minded, saying what is on her mind regardless if it is appropriate or not. She displays some respect to her elders, yet when somebody doesn't agree to her beliefs or ideas, she will contradict them and stick to them. Stella is quite dark and doesn't use manners that much at all. She doesn't respect most when it comes to bowing and using correct terms (like miss, friend, best friend, etc.) unless they are very, but very dear to her. When it comes to battles however, she has some code of honor. She fights fair and doesn't like to fight an injured unless they insist and fight back. Even though she is quite brutal and cruel, she is quite cunning. She uses any opportunity and opening her opponent gives.


She is very negative and silent. If spoken to, she will only reply with as few words as possible. If an argument starts with her in it, she will explode and try to prove her view right. It is very hard for her to accept defeat though, and refuses unless somebody forces her to see that she's wrong. Rarely does she grow a bond with anybody, but with those she does, she is loyal. With friends, which is only very few, she protects them as if they were her sibling. Her friends are the only people she seems to respect most of all, and even changes her cruel, negative personality to a positive, caring one for the sake of their friendship. In order to do this though, not many can put up with her short temper and tantrums. She loves to climb, and is very athletic. Being very light, she can run very fast and jump pretty high. However, she is not good with accuracy, and depends too much on speed and her attack strength.

6 Days before the Reaping
She missed her shift today, yet her boss was able to understand from what she was going to do today anyway. Leaving her fishermen clothing and her brothers take care of the Delibird. The bird was a beauty to watch, carrying the bag and food it would esily steals from others. From what she concluded, she may not need to put any tesserae at all from what they were doing....yet she needed it anyway.


"Hey....Nico. Take care of Delbird, kay? You too Sergio," she told them, starting to walk out the door.


"Why?" they asked, only playing with her to tease her a bit. She sighed.


"I'm leaving to put some Tesserae in. You stay. I go. Bye," she waved them a goodbye before she slammed the door shut. Covering their ears, they took care of the bird that has been with them for 2 years. Stella walked over, and eventually reached the place she had to be. Waiting in line, she wondered about what would happen in a few days. Who will be picked? Who will be chosen? As long as its not her brothers, she was fine with them. Forget others if they were picked, she didn't even care. Standing in line, it was finally her turn. All she put in was two tesserae, getting the necessary oil and grain for her small family. Returning with it all to her small hut, she broke open the door and placed everything inside. The Delibird and her brothers were horrified.


"What? I'll fix the door later, you just chow down on the food," she told them , going back to fix the door she just broke down. It was weak anyway though, she had to replace it one way or another. The day was ending by the time she had fixed the door, her brothers with full stomachs. The Delibird didn't seem to eat, saving it for another day. Instead, the bird stuffed the grain on its pouch, protecting it from her greedy brothers. She onlu chuckled as she went to her room and went to bed.


4 Days Before the Reaping
"Umm...I'm scared," Nico told her, the youngest of her brothers as he woke her up. She tried to push him away, yet her sisterly instincts made her sit up. She yawned and glared at him. "For the reaping day I mean....I don't want to go," he suddenly started to tear up.


"Oh Nico...don't cry. If you go, I would always go for you. I would never want to see you two go, who would play and feed Delibird?" she told him, trying to cheer him up.


"Sergio," he simply stated, looking down. She grabbed his shoulders, gazing into his eyes and smiling that rare, beautiful smile of her's.


"You know I would never let anything happen to you. Just believe that it would be some other dum person that's going to be picked. Besides...they only pick one girl and one boy from every region. If they didn't call out the boys, you wouldbe able to breathe," she said, finally able to cheer him up. His grin brightened her day.


"You're right! Thanks Sis!" he ran off her room towards his room. She only smiled and went back to sleep. She too was worried about the Reaping day. Waking up an hour later, she ate breakfast and gulped down a few drinks along the way toher work. It went by fast though, often snoozing or spacing out just by thinking about the Reaping day. She would get yelled by her boss or woken up by a partner of the workplace, yet it never got off her mind. Once she did get home, that question and wonder haunted her. She couldn't wait for the Reaping. Unlike others, she was actually looking foward to it. If she was picked, she wouldn't mind. Her brothers already knew how to take care of themselves. If somebody else was picked, she didn't give any pity or care for them whatsoever. Coming late from work to earn some extra, she slept right away.


Reaping Day
Finally, the day has come. Everybody was in a crowd, waiting for the rest to come out of their dens and join them. Stella and Sergio were on of the very last few. It took her a long while to get Sergio out of the house by force, yet Delibird stayed inside since he was still a secret. By the time they arrived, they saw the huge bowl that had all the names of the citizens of Hoenn. Slateport City was a dump, just like always. Before the spokesperson could say anything, Nico had run after them.


"Stella!" he yelled out, waving his arms.


"Nico! Stay in the house!" she warned him. He suddenly bear hugged her, crying. "Nico! I mean it!" she growled.


"Okay...but before I go...give a name to Delibird at least. It would be a memory in case any of you two go," he told them both, Sergio and Stella saddened and touched.


"What about Scooter?" Sergio asked.


"No...lame...use Jojo. He was our favorite imaginary friend, remember?" she reminded him, Nico starting to tear up once more.


"Y-yeah...he was....well.....bye! I might not see you or Sergio again!" he hugs them both this time. Huddled up, Sergio broke the embrace.


"We have to go...or you do. Now go before Stella makes you," he warned him, Nico nodding and running off. "I promise we'll come back!" he yelled out before he disappeared. Stella didn't reply. "Why aren't you helping?" he turned to face her, yet the spokesperson started speaking. he was from the Capitol, two Reaping spheres in front of him. She hated the fact it was just like lottery. It was then they rolled the spheres and the speaker placed one arm in the male's reapings. Rummaging, he grabbed a whole bunch and eventually got rid of all until he remained with one. It was at this moment when Sergio clasped her hand, scared. Then something amazing happened.


"Archer. Archer Fitliano."


Relief was spread over the two of them, Stella already knowing that there was no way she was going to get picked if some guy she didn't know get picked. "You're so lucky....see how it works out?" she helped with his inner cheering. Walking away, it was then her heart skipped a beat when the spokesperson took out one female name and announced it. Her face was in horror.


"Stella. Stella Equaine."


Everybody stopped moving. Most of the town was made up of fishermen, and they knew her well. Some broke out crying, others simply didn't care. However, Sergio was filled with anger. Before he could turn and curse at the representative of the capitol, Stella extended one arm in front of him. He obeyed, cursing silently.


"It's okay. I didn't expect it but....," she paused, a wicked smile crossing her face. "but watch me mop the floor with the others, you hear me?" she told him in a sinister voice, now walking up to the stage as the crowd opened a trail for her as if she was Moses. Once their, she turned to see a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was taller than her, yet looked somewhat younger than the age she thinks he was. All she could do is wait. Sergio was running away and sobbing along the way, her heart breaking into pieces as she imagines how Nico would suck all of this in. "Nico.....sorry."

History:

Zorya was born into a family that wasn't exactly rich, but wasn't poor either. She was born in Castelia City of Unova, an only child and one lucky enough to have both her parents alive and healthy. Both her parents worked constantly with the Technology Industry of Unova. Her father was also an expert hacker, a trait that he was careful not to flaunt, and she did pick up a few tricks from him over the years.

While growing up in school, Zorya could be considered "middle class," meaning that she wasn't exactly popular, but she also wasn't a loner. She left the duty of being popular to kids like Krystal Kollyns, whom was a friend of one of her best friends, and she left the curse of being an outcast to people like Shun Sorukei. Zorya;s best friend was Luna Krescent, and she was also friends with Luna's twin sister, Solissa. Thanks to the fact that Solissa and Luna were friends with Krystal Kollyns, Zorya occassionally hung out with her and other "popular" kids.

As her family wasn't quite poor, they managed to keep a pet Persian around the house. Zorya spent most of her spare time hanging out with the Persian, whom they named Jojo, and found it quite enjoyable. As wild Pok[FONT=edca086fca6a8f6e1059d6b0#a40e00]é[/FONT]mon were a bit of an oddity, she never really got to see too many more Pok[FONT=edca086fca6a8f6e1059d6b0#a40e00]é[/FONT]mon besides Jojo, but she occassionally saw one or two when she went out into Pinwheel forest to forage for fruits and other plants.

Sometime around ninth grade, by some ironic twist of fate, Zorya started dating the most popular guy in school; Daren Grey. After they started dating, Zorya found that almost all of her time was spent with her boyfriend, which she didn't really mind, other than the fact that it left less time to hang out with her other friends, Jojo, and her parents. Daren was a strong guy, and after they dated for a while and he found out about Zorya's little excursions into Pinwheel Forest, he actually started to tag along, rather than get her into some serious trouble.

Zorya never really worried too much about being picked on Reaping Day, as she never got any tesserae, paired with the fact that there were so many other girls in Castelia to be picked. The same went for Daren, so they both figured that they could make it long enough to get to the point where their names were no longer available to be picked. They were nearly there, Daren now being seventeen and Zorya not far behind, they only had a bit more than a year to go. Of course, it all just had to go downhill at the Reaping this year.

Zorya is Caucasian [white], stands at about five feet ten inches and weighs about one hundred and twenty five pounds. She has dark brown hair that goes just past her shoulders along with rather long bangs that tend to hang in her face. She has bright green eyes that never seem to stay still, unless, of course, she is zoning out, in which case her eyes hardly move and seem very distant. As Zorya relies more on speed than strength, her muscles aren't too apparent and so she tends to be mistaken is weak, which she most certainly is not. Zorya is incredibly fast, probably one of the fastest runner that you'll ever see, and once she starts running it's very near impossible to keep up with her.

Zorya wears a dark purple turtle-neck dress, which is fastened at the waist with a dark green sash. She wears fingerless gloves with stripes that are colored dark purple and dark green, and she wears dark purple boots with a dark green trim that, rather than hindering her speed, actually boost it. She wears a necklace with a silver star attached to the end[Not Pictured] and she carries a black shoulder bag with a light grey Pokéball design on the flap.

Personality:

Zorya is a bit flighty and a bit of a klutz. She tends to trip over herself, drop things, and tends to mess most things up. She isn't very good at staying still, she can be a bit hasty and sometimes has a hard time paying attention. She isn't too confident in her own abilities and sometimes stutters a bit. She's a horrible liar and when she gets nervous or panicked, she will usually speak rather fast and tremble a bit, which doesn't help with her klutziness. She doesn't really try to initiate interaction with others, but she is usually quite happy to interact with anyone willing to speak to her. Behind all of this, she is extremely intelligent when it comes to most things, although school work tends to stump her so her grades don't always reflect her intelligence.

Zorya loves Pokémon, although it can be a pain to come across them at times, so she tends to stick with her family's pet Persian. Zorya is a vegetarian, so she is an expert on what wild plants are edible or not, as she spends a lot of time going to the forest and harvesting plants to eat. In whatever spare time she can manage, Zorya loves to dance, and is rather good at it, and she can also play a few different instruments, which is really every instrument that she has ever come across, but that's still not all too many. She loves to hang out with her family and friends, and she is in love with love, so to speak. She loves romantic stories and really anything to do with romance. She tries to keep that a bit of a secret, though.

Zorya hates eating meat, the thought of killing animals or Pokémon, and those that abuse or kill these creatures. She isn't very fond of jocks or guys that are too into themselves and/or their looks, and she also isn't fond of popular, stuck up girls. She hates bullies, anybody that thinks their better than others, people who enjoy fighting as she is a bit of a pascifist and, in fact, hates hate itself, which is a bit ironic. And, of course, she hates Team Rocket.

4 days until Reaping Day

"Oh Zorya~!" yelled a female voice I knew all too well. It was Solissa Krescent, my best friend Luna's twin sister. Although they were twins, they didn't look too similar. They stood at about the same height, and they had the same features, for the most part, but Solissa had short, blonde hair while Luna had long, silver hair. Likewise, most of Solissa's clothing was yellow while Luna mostly wore gray.

"Hey," Luna waved as she and her twin walked up to me. One more thing: they were also quite the opposite personality-wise. Luna was shy and quiet, whereas Solissa was outgoing an rather loud. They were both fun to hang out with, regardless.

"Well, hello there you two." I greeted them as they stopped next to me.

"So, how'd it go with Daren last night?" Solissa asked, putting on a mock aura of romance, swooning with much exaggeration and making a number of kissy-faces.

"Oh, like usual. We hung out, talked, um . . . kissed a bit." I chuckled a bit nervously, blushing a bit.

"Oh, how romantic!" Solissa cheered, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Sounds sweet," Luna intervened, her tone a bit more on the serious side than her twin's. "Anyways . . . um," Luna looked away, suddenly becoming very quiet. I knew what she was thinking, so I gave her a reassuring smile.

"What, worried about Reaping Day? Don't be! You have nothing to worry about, trust me." I placed a hand on her shoulder, looking her in the eye's and giving her a sincere look of confidence.

"Uh, thanks. That's good to hear. But still . . . there's always a chance that one of us . . . ," she trailed off once more, avoiding my gaze.

"Come on sis, you know we won't get picked. Don't be a buffoon," Solissa assured Luna, still dancing around and teasing me about Daren. Luna managed a small smile, nodding slowly to show that she understood.

"I'm sure whomever gets picked will be some random buffoon that we've never heard of." Right, Solissa's favorite word as of late was buffoon, which I thought was a bit odd. Then again, Solissa was an odd person.

"Nothin' to worry about, 'kay?" I said once more to Luna, removing my hand from her shoulder. "Now let's get going, we have the rest of the day to goof off!"

2 days until Reaping Day

"You're so cute!" I exclaimed as I pet Jojo, whom was lying on the floor, purring.

"Why thank you," Daren said a bit sarcastically, knowing very well that I was talking to the cat.

"Aw, you're cute too, no doubt about that." I gave him a hug and a small kiss on the cheek as I stood up beside him.

"Cuter than the cat?" He asked as he out his arm around me.

I hesitated for a moment, in such a way to tease him. "Oh, no, but you're still cute." He laughed a bit as we took a seat at the table and began to go over our pickings for the day. We had just come back from Pinwheel Forest a little while ago, and we had gotten a fair amount of fruit today. There were a few other plants, but it was mostly fruit.

"It looks like today was a good day," Daren stated as I tossed an Oran Berry to Jojo, whom happily devoured it.

"Yep, we lucked out," I smiled as I popped an Oran Berry into my own mouth, handing one to Daren. "And these ones are especially delicious, try it!"

Daren placed the Oran Berry in his mouth and ate it in a single bite. "Yeah, they are." He smiled back at me, but then he glanced at the clock. "Shoot . . . guess it's time for me to go."

I turned and took a look at the time on the clock. "Aw, already?" I moaned. "Well then, see you tomorrow!" I gave him a kiss as he stood up to leave.

"Of course, can't wait 'til then." Daren replied before he turned and walked out the door.

After he was gone, I gathered up the fruit and put it all away. My parents didn't really like the fact that I risked going out to Pinwheel Forest to get the fruit, but it was extra food that was free, with no strings attached like the tesserae, so they didn't really complain. They worked most of the time, so I didn't see them all that often, and over the years I had learned to take care of myself when they weren't home, which was a skill that did come in handy. I could probably handle myself better than they could, not to toot my own horn or anything, but my dad had even told me that before, which was quite the compliment for me, being who I was and all.

I sighed as I found myself thinking about the Reaping Day. I never really worried about getting picked; the chances were highly unlikely compared to most others, but even so I couldn't help but think of the what ifs. I couldn't bear to have someone I knew get picked, and so far I had been pretty lucky in that department, although there was one time when Krystal Kollyns little brother, Kris Kollyns, had gotten picked on Reaping Day.

He was thirteen, and that was about two years ago. Of course Krystal and her family had been torn when Kris's name was picked, but at first the odds seemed to be in his favor. He was an incredible fighter, not something you'd really expect from a kid like him, and he managed to survive for a very long time. He very nearly one, coming in second actually. His family had been so happy, so full of hope that he was going to come back alive. But then . . . he just . . . he was killed. He was so close too, which only made it all the more heartbreaking for Krystal and her family. She was extremely depressed for a while, but somehow she managed to overcome it. I still got the feeling every now and then that it still affected her greatly, but she managed to hide it pretty well if it did.

I sighed as I stood up and walked to my room. I pushed the thoughts of Kris to the back of my mind. He had been a good kid, but there was no sense in making myself depressed right now. I didn't want to jynx myself or anything.

Reaping Day

"Remember, if you don't come back, I'm going to kill you myself." My mother was smiling, but there were tears in her eyes. She'd always been one to worry a little too much.

"Don't worry mom, dad, I'll be fine." I assured them, giving them both a hug.

"I've no doubt about that, but don't go making us worry about you now." My father said as he brushed a hand over my cheek.

"No need to worry, dad." I smiled, although it was a small smile as I w also a bit worried, before I turned and walked towards the crowd of kids. As usual, the boys and girls were separated, so I wouldn't be able to stand next to Daren, but I made sure I knew where he was so I could keep an eye on him.

Once I entered the crowd of girls, I stood next to Luna and Solissa. Down the row I could see Krystal Kollyns, Destiny Saviouer, Angel Boski, and a few other girls that I recognized. Solissa was smiling, although her smile was grim - I guess even she got nervous at times. Luna's face was full of worry, and I put my hand on her shoulder and gave her a smile. She gave a smile back, a weak one, but a smile nonetheless.

I looked at the crowd of boys and spotted Daren. I waved to him and he saw me, so he waved back. I blew him a kiss before I turned back to Luna. "Don't worry," I said. "You'll be fine."

"I certainly hope so . . . ," she mumbled. I was about to say something more, but the crowd suddenly turned silent as people began to move about on stage. They went through the normal routine, the regular speech, most of which I had memorized by now so I ignored it. The only thing I cared about was the Reaping itself.

"Now," the woman said. "For the names." She walked over to a bowl full of names, and I knew they were the names of all of the boys. It was always the boys that got picked first, and I was suddenly extremely nervous. What if Daren, or someone else I knew, was picked? I had no idea what I would do.

I had no reason to worry, though. The woman reached into the bowl, pulled out a name, and read it allowed. I crossed my fingers and prayed to Arceus that it wouldn't be Daren.

"Shun Sorukei," the woman stated. I turned and looked at the group of boys, and it only took a moment to find Shun. He went to school with me, but he was a total outcast. It wasn't because nobody liked him, but it was because he was an outcast by choice, for whatever reason. I sighed in relief that it wasn't Daren, but I also felt bad for Shun. I spied out his family, which was only his father and brother as his mother had died years ago. His father wore a tragically grim and pained expression, and his brother just looked shocked. His brother was a little over eighteen, so he was exempt from the Reaping from now on. Lucky for him.

I watched as Shun walked up onto the stage, and I had a feeling that he'd have no problem killing the other contestants. From what I knew, he was fast, perhaps even as fast as me, and I figured that he could care less whether the others lived or died.

A few moments later, the woman walked over to the bowl that contained the names of all of the girls. I felt Luna grip my hand with her own, and it would have hurt if I hadn't been nearly numb from anticipation. The woman reached into the bowl, fished around for a moment, and finally pulled out the name. I tensed up, hoping that it wasn't one of my friends.

But I had no reason to worry, right?

"Zorya Solistum," At that moment, I felt my world go cold. Time seemed to slow, all the warmth seemed to leave the world, sound became a small drone and all feeling left me. I knew that I would have collapsed had it not been for Luna and Solissa supporting me.

After a moment, I managed to look around. Luna's face was full of terror, Solissa's was full of sorrow, and I could see a few girls looking at me with pained, sympathetic expressions. I saw Krystal Kollyns staring at me, a grim look on her face. She mouthed the words "So sorry" to me, but I could barely even nod. I turned my head to see Daren, whose face looked as shocked as I felt. All he could do was stare, a look of utter shock and pain on his face, and I could tell that whatever he was thinking, whatever he was trying to say, if anything at all, was probably caught in his throat, lost in this moment of terror.

I glanced at my parents. My mother had her hands to her face, and I could see her sobbing. My father had his arms wrapped around her, and he had a terrified expression on his face. I had never seen my father scared, much less terrified. It scared me almost as much as the imminent threat of my impending fight to the death.

I forced myself to get it together, and I began to walk. The girls parted, all giving me sad looks, grim wishes of luck, and a few sad touches on my arm and shoulder. I stepped out of the crowd and walked towards the stage. My eyes met Shun's, but I couldn't read his expression, at all. He just stared at me, his face blank.

It was time for me to fight for my life.

I've seen many RP's were the RP sample is literally a paragraph or two from other RP's they've been in, written by them. Name: Archur Fitliano

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Region: Hoenn

History: Archur grew up in what could be called the middle class of Hoenn. Compared to others, his family was well off, but still was barely scraping by. His father owned one pokemon, a Swampert, and they ran one of the fishing stalls by the beach in the remains of Petalburg City and his mother weaves clothes for sale. It generated enough income for them to have an actual house to themselves, but barely enough to have heat in the winter or the coal needed to cook and much of what they ate was hunted and cooked in the sun on hot days so that coal could be saved for winter, or a bunch of berries were gathered and then eaten. Archur himself grew up with enough friends to be content and felt very lucky and was grateful for it. Archur has had minimal training, most of it being from playing games. He was the only person who could throw a spear-type steak right through a target each time and was skilled with a bow and arrow. He loved having play fights with sticks for swords when he was little and although never victorious, he was never the one sent home crying from a cut. 

Personality: Archur likes to think he is a kind person. He knows that his family is wealthy in some respects and doesn't rub it in the faces of the less fortunate. He helps out those that he can and absolutely hates the Games. He loves hanging out with his friends and is outgoing. Archur isn't one much for fighting in general, but isn't afraid to stand up to someone who is bullying someone else. Archur would rather have the crap beaten out of him than to be witness to someone lesser than he get hurt by someone lesser than the victim, or of any status for that matter. Archur had decided that if he was ever sent to the Games, he would fight to survive for the sake of his own family as well as for his friends in hopes of seeing them again.  

Appearance: Archur has enough clothes that he never is wearing thread bear stuff, but he tends to wear the same thing for weeks at a time before switching to something newer. His typical apparel is a grey t-shirt in the summer and a pair of rough, cloth pants and in the winter, he wears a heavy coat, some hand made gloves and similar, but thicker pants. Unless it's winter, Archur goes barefoot and his feet are very rough and calloused. He stands at about 6"2' with blonde hair and cold blue eyes. He weighs about 140 lbs and is very skinny, but not weak. He can take a beating and can dish one out if necessary. He has several scars on his arms from self defense and the ones he received while playing fake sword fights as a small child.

5 days before the Reaping
Archur was worried. He was walking down the street with his friend Dia at his side, resting her head on his shoulder. He wasn't so much worried for himself as for her. He had only needed to put one tessarae for each year he was able while Dia put in almost three extra each year. Of course he was worried for himself, but not nearly as much as for Dia. She seemed very non-chalant about it all though, as she was about everything. Dia had been Archurs child hood friend and he cared about her a lot. He knew she wouldn't survive but only the first night or two in the games and it would crush him if she died. He knew she felt the same way towards him, for she had voiced it before. There was an unusual silence between them as they walked by the stalls and booths.
"How's your mother doing?" she broke the silence.
"She's well. Why do you ask?" Archur tilted his head.
"This silence is killing me for one," she laughed. Archur couldn't help but smile when she did. He looked into the sky and saw the sun setting.
"I guess I'd better get you home," the boy sighed and taking Dia's arm in his, lead her the other way. He hugged her as they got to her family's home and then walked towards his own.
 
3 Days before the Reaping
"PEEERT!" Archurs fathers swampert, who was cleaning fish, greeted as Archur walked into the home, a basket of yarn for his mother in his arms.
"Hey, big guy." Archur replied. That was pretty much the Swampert's name. He was officially Napoleon, but every one just called him "big guy," "Napo," or something along those lines. Archur walked into the back yard of his home where his mother was waiting.
"Thank you. Go make sure your suit is ready. You're free for the rest of the day unless your father needs you." The suit was Archurs finest piece of clothing, used only on Reaping day. It was made of fine cloth and had water types embroidered into the sleeve cuffs and a single Typhlosion embroidered on left shoulder. The suit itself was blue and the pants white. The pokemon were all stitched with red. In Archurs opinion, it was his mothers' finest piece of work and could probably be sold for a great sum, but she wanted him to look nice on that day and each year prayed that he and Dia (Archurs mother had sewn her a fine dress) would not be chosen, because if they did, then those clothes would never be worn by anyone else. She told everyone it was because of how hard she worked on the clothes, mockingly, but she really didn't want them to be empty, for Dia and Archur were the only ones ever to wear them.
Archur went to a small field that had been set up for games such as soccer or fake battles where older kids could bet on which army of wily little kids would win. On this particular day, it was a battle. Archur really didn't like them all that much, but then again, the kids weren't forced into it either, so he stayed and watched, but didn't bet.

Day of the Reaping
Archur waited quietly next to Dia, he wearing his fine suit and she her dress. They had traveled along with everyone else in their area to the city of Slateport, as was mandatory to wait for the two unlucky winners to be chosen. There was some small introduction stuff, and then, the names started to get picked. He prayed to Arceus that Dia wouldn't be picked, and his prayer was answered. Instead of her name, it was his. Archur didn't fully understand the situation until he felt Dia sobbing on his shoulder. He almost asked her "what's wrong? You didn't get picked," but he realized it was him. He looked around him, and saw his mother crying into his fathers shirt. Napoleon was trying to keep a straight face, but couldn't keep a tear from rolling down his blue cheek. His father stood stone still, a very sad look on his face. Archur had heard a few sad gasps, mixed with sighs of relief, and though Dia grabbed at the back of his shirt, begging him to stay, Archur walked up to the stage and waited.

Hey there, everyone.

Name: Melvin Nuka

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Region: Kanto

History: Melvin was born in what was once Lavender Town. His parents owned and maintained the large cemetary surrounding the old Pokemon Tower. His father died shortly after Melvin was born, leaving him in the care of his mother, older sister, and adopted older brother. His brother became a Guard, moving to Saffron City. Melvin was too young to work, so his sister raised him while their mother worked. Unfortunately, when Melvin was 10 years old, she was chosen in the Reaping. She didn't come back. Melvin was forced to take care of himself, doing what he could to get by while his mother tended the cemetary and collected government money. Melvin entered his name in the lottery as expected, but no more than was required.

Things changed when he was 15. His mother had taken ill, and Melvin was forced to tend to the cemetary, collect Mother's pay, and go into town when needed. A passing stranger had moved into the cemetary, but he was stealing from Mother while she was sick in bed. Melvin put a stop to this, burying the man in an unmarked grave and taking his Pokemon, an Ekans that Melvin named Cornelius. Now that Mother had Cornelius for company, Melvin could work harder, and get the things they needed. He found himself putting his name in the lottery more often, as they needed the extra rations. Melvin decided to nip potential problems in the bud, and entered his name twenty times. Time would tell whether or not this was a good idea. (Spoiler: It wasn't.)

Personality: Growing up in a small family in the middle of a graveyard with no one else for company has shown Melvin that you don't need things or people to survive. He is extremely frugal and practical, weighing every choice based on what he has and what he needs. He is a little unhinged, and is fiercely protective of what is his, and extremely distrustful of other people. He has no concept of pain or insult, and finds humans hard to understand. He is polite and respectful to women, however, growing up without any male influence. He is a quiet, sneaky type, preferring to lay low, but has been known to have loud outbursts if he feels threatened.

Appearance: Melvin is short and rodent-like, last measured at 4' 2" and barely nudging over 100 lbs. He has black hair and green eyes. His hair is wild and messy, perpetually sticking out as though he were being shocked. If it were tamed, it would probably fall evenly around his head in a bowl-cut style. He has very tan skin, partially due to his genes and partially due to how much time he spends outside, despite living in a shack in a graveyard. His face is perpetually clean-shaven, with occasional nicks from shaving, due to his extreme dislike of beards. At some point, he got a tattoo of a tombstone on his right bicep.

Melvin wears an odd mix of clothes, either hand-made or second-hand, with a few nice items. He wears a black Rocket jacket with the arms cut off for a shirt, with black leather gloves on his hands. He wears a set of trousers made out of several brown burlap sacks, with cotton on the inside for comfort. He wears a red leather belt to keep them in place. His shoes are white "wheely" shoes, tennis shoes with retractable wheels on the bottom. These shoes allow him to move faster than normal by "wheely-ing" on smooth surfaces.

7 days before the Reaping

Melvin works in the cemetary, clearing moss off of gravestones and raking leaves. "Say what you will about Team Rocket, but they sure are a tidy group. Like the graves of their enemies to be kept neat. AS A REMINDER!" He ducks behind a tombstone, peeking over the top to see if anyone heard that. He checks the name on the headstone: Hank Nuka. "Oh, hello again Dad. Yes, I'm working hard. You always ask me that. I even got a picture of you on my arm, so you can nag at me wherever I go." He shows off his arm tattoo, a perfect match for the tombstone he is currently arguing with. "It's been fun, Dad. But I have to go now. It's time for lunch, and Mother still isn't feeling well."

1 Day before the Reaping

"Let's see... Going to need some more eggs, another bag of flour, and more rabbits. This is the last rabbit, Cornelius. "BOK ARBOK!" "Shh! Mother's sleeping! Here, have your rabbit and go play outside or something." He tosses the meat to Arbok, who slithers outside to eat. Melvin quietly walks past the couch, where Mother lays. He makes a sandwich for himself and a bowl of broth for Mother. He places the bowl down by the couch, heading outside.

"You know, Cornelius, Reaping Day is tomorrow. If they pick me, you're going to be the man of the house. I expect you to take good care of Mother." Arbok gives him a flat look, working his jaw back into place. "Hahaha! I'm joking. They haven't picked me in over five years. I even put my name in extra this time, just to taunt them. And we could use the extra supplies. Mother has been so tired lately, and I don't trust that bearded idiot of a doctor."

He finishes his lunch, rising. "Well, it's been fun talking to you, Cornelius. I have to go back to work. I want to finish cleaning the tower before Reaping Day." He heads off, Arbok watching him as he leaves. When Melvin is out of sight, Arbok heads inside to eat the bowl of broth by the couch, putting another blanket on top of Mother's body.

Day of the Reaping

Melvin walks calmly towards Saffron, Cornelius following behind him. He wears his finest suit, which is actually his regular clothes with a black hooded greatcoat over top. "I hope this doesn't take too long, Cornelius. I have so much shopping to do before we get back. I hope there's a sale today! Prices are usually way down on Reaping Day, on account of all the grief." At the ceremony, he stands off to the side, slowly heading closer to the store as the ceremony begins. With any luck he can get there first and get back home sooner. The announcer grabs a name, reading it out. "Melvin Nuka. You have been chosen as a tribute." "What? They actually chose me? But I have so much to do today! No!" Two men grab Melvin's arms, dragging him to the stage. "Wait! I'm not ready!" He fishes a piece of paper and a bag out of his jacket, the guards still dragging him. "Cornelius! Here's my list and some money! Take care of Mother for me!" He tosses the items to the ground. Arbok looks at the list, ignoring it as he grabs the bag of money. He smirks as Melvin is dragged on stage. Melvin holds back tears. The announcer grabs another name, reading it out. "Melvin Nuka. We already have him. Next name! Melv- how many times did you sign up?"

While writing that I realized how long it's been since I read The Hunger Games. I'm tempted to reread it now.
That was also a bit fun, albeit sad, to write. The RP Sample I mean. Heh, I even managed to mention a lot of my characters. (Oh em gee, I actually killed Kris. If you know me, you would probably realize how unlikely that is, now be surprised!)
