    The Vassa Region
    Rated PG-15/16

    History/Plot Information:
Welcome, young Pokemon trainers, to the Vassa Region. It was the region that many have migrated to in hopes to make this region as popular as the other four. Even some of the gym leaders have migrated, but that's not important currently. This region was discovered only a few years after Sinnoh was, and slowly began to develop and grow. Now it is ready to become a full region, complete with gyms and Pokemon. The cities are fairly advanced now, with new technologies and gadgets. Though this region may seem like the perfect luxury, the geography makes it seem like a lesser region.

The first part of the region, starting at Amber Town, is a rather grassy and plain-like area. It stays that way until you get up to about Route 306, just after Carnelian City, where it turns rocky. By the fourth town, it grows much hotter and almost unbearable because of the nearby volcano to its east. Moving just a ways away from Topaz Town (the fourth town with a gym), is Jade Forest. The ground is frosty here, and the snow and ice only gets worse as you move further on to the west of the region. As anyone could tell, it's a very dramatic region, where only the bravest people chose to go. So many were reluctant at first, which is why it took about twenty years before the region was ready to go.

The hardest part was getting the gym leaders. None of the gym leader applicants of the region seemed to know what they were doing, so that put things off about two years. Finally they had some former gym leaders from other regions agree to come over. Some of the gym leaders have downgraded on positions (though they do not mind because they see it as a good thing, helping a starting region out) and some have risen. They all have Pokemon that can accommodate to their positions, so it truly made no difference. They all have new gym badges as well. Though the first through seventh gym leaders are well known, the eighth hides in secret. None have seen who this gym leader is, and many strive to know. That, supposedly, is a mystery that the new trainers of the Vassa Region will have to find out.

If you were wondering, yes, that IS where you will come in. The announcement has been made by the migrated Professor Elm and it was broadcasted over all of the regions. There will be six new Pokemon trainers for this region, simply because of the vastness. Several starters have been chosen, though they are not what you would expect. Some people have recently moved to Amber Town in hopes that they will be one of those lucky six. Others moved a long time ago, back when the Vassa Region was just getting started. Or perhaps they arrived in the middle. The scientists are interested to learn where you stand in Vassa's history, or if you do at all. This information will help provide research for further training years to come, so you are very important to the entire region. If you're going to participate, be very serious about your decision. It could effect the Vassa Region in many different ways.

  • A wild SU appears!!

    Name
    : Carol Hayward
    Gender: Female
    Age: 13
Appearance: Carol is 5'2", of average build, and though she's hit puberty (just), she's not particularly curvy and has often still been mistaken for a boy. To counteract that, she's grown her straight, light brown hair a little longer, and has two short braids that curl out from the back of her head. She did that because she definitely IS a girl, thanks, but she didn't want to stop wearing "boys'" clothing, and, aside from the hairstyle, persists in wearing baggy shirts and sweatshirts and cargo pants or shorts. Because of Carol's tendency for being rough on her clothing, combined with her family's tight income, her stuff is almost all used or hand-me-downs from her older stepbrothers. Threadbare spots and fraying hems show up on most of her wardrobe. Carol has a fondness for old things, though, and likes keeping stuff usable. She's handy with a needle, so patches appear over time as her clothing wears down. She's most commonly seen in her faded navy-blue hoodie sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off, and brown cargo shorts. If her arms and legs aren't bruised or scratched at least a little, it's been a slow day.

Carol has blue eyes and an uneven complexion, freckles cover her round face and her arms thickly, and her face gets blotchy red when she's embarrassed or agitated. She's got a scattering of minor scars mixed in with the freckles—a spot on her arm where she burned it against the stove, a line on her forehead, just below the hairline, where she smacked into a low branch and needed four stitches, a mottled patch of lighter skin on her knee where she scraped it badly wiping out on her stepbrother's bike, and so on and so forth. Her oldest brother likes to tell her she matches her patched-up clothes.
Carol's favourite colours are green, silver and yellow, and because her clothing is generally grey, blue or brown, courtesy of her brothers, she's collected little extras for herself. Her one feminine touch is ribbons on her braids, usually yellow or green (but sometimes pink), and she has a collection of silver (or at least metal) and green-coloured buttons that she sews on whatever she thinks might look better with one or two or five buttons on it, such as her backpack, or the pocket flaps of her pants.

Personality: Carol is what many at first glance would call a tomboy, though they might have trouble reconciling that with the ribbons and the enjoyment of sewing. Her primary hobby is exploring, new places or old, whether it's going another few hundred meters down an unfamiliar road or seeing if she can get onto the roof to look down the chimney (she could, but then she dropped the big emergency flashlight down the shaft and it broke, and she was grounded). When it's light out she is almost always to be found outside, and if there's nothing much to do, she'll find something, which is why her stepfather's herb garden has a little stone wall built around it, and why the admittedly rocky backyard lawn was dug up to find the stones (she was grounded for that too, but the little wall has proved to be quite sturdy).

Carol's an independent sort, not finding other people's company either needed or desired most of the time. She's not rude, exactly, at least not on purpose, she's just rather minimalist in her interactions, and is happiest when she's not being told what to do, or being stuck in stiflingly polite social situations. Carol is the type, for example, who hates being on the phone—she uses it to convey or get information, and then wants to hang up. She's not very confrontational--at least not on purpose, again. She never intends casual cruelty, but she tends to be plainspoken and blunt, and she does get irritated with flowery speech or stuff like fishing for compliments.

She loves her family, definitely including her stepfather and brothers, and finds great comfort in the concept of home, even if it's not so much the interaction as the simple presence of them nearby. She fully expects that someday she'll have her own partner and probably kids, but she hasn't quite worked out that she might need to work on her people skills to help that along, nor does she yet care.

Her curiousity about if she can go there or do that or climb that thing get her periodically grounded when something breaks or she makes too much of a mess. This is essentially a matter of course now, and Carol usually understands why, it's just that she gets carried away when she thinks of new things to do, that's all!

History: Carol's family used to be just her and her mom, who was a manager at the Safari Zone in Fuschia city, keeping the office side of it running smoothly. Carol's real father was what her mom first always called "a lucky one-night stand", and neither Carol nor her mom actually know who he is. Carol grew up used to penny-pinching to get by at home, though things got better over time as her mom was promoted a few times at the Safari Zone. Meanwhile, Carol learned a great deal about making her own fun, and though she always obeyed one of her mother's few hard-and-fast rules to never, ever sneak into the Safari Zone, Carol /did/ find out how to scale some of the buildings around it, sheds and storage buildings, and saw a great deal from a distance. Each time she looked out over the open terrain, sometimes seeing glimpses of the pokemon there, she wanted, so badly, to go out there and see it for herself.

Carol was abruptly unable to even watch from afar for a long while when she was nine, after she fell from a tree she was climbing (it wasn't even that high, which bothered her almost as much) and broke her left arm and collarbone. The hospital was unpleasant enough, but the sling, cast and ten weeks of comparative immobility, compared to her normal activities, felt like they would drive her nuts. They didn't--but she made some great strides in sewing skill.

It all turned into something quite unexpected. Carol's regular appointments in the aftermath of breaking her arm always coincided with those of a sixteen-year-old boy who'd broken a leg (falling from a rotted back balcony, Carol would later learn). Carol's mom and the boy's father, a chef, met there, and eighteen months later, Carol had three more people in her family. It took some more months of adjustment, but the eventual revelation that she had a father and two big brothers was just as striking as her deeply-rooted desire to explore. Going away didn't mean as much unless there was something to come back to, it seemed to her now.

Their move to Amber Town in Vassa came because Carol's stepfather had the opportunity to start a restaurant there with a cousin of his, and Carol's mom was thrilled with the idea of managing it. Carol herself embraced the move with eagerness. The rumors of the new league that was supposed to be finally coming together there only added to the draw for Carol. She took her share of shifts at the family restaurant, doing dishing and clearing tables, helping it come together, while saving up for herself at the same time. Carol had been in Amber Town for a year before Professor Elm's announcement.

  • Name: Jane Jasmine Chauncé
    Gender: Femme
    Age: 16
Appearance: Jane at first glance, a very small girl. She's skinny and small and everything about her just seems to be tiny. She has skinny arms and legs, near to no muscle strength, and even her hands and feet are small. The only thing that appears to not have gotten the memo was her mouth. She has a big mouth, though not in the literal sense.
Jane is a chocolate girl all the way. She has the smooth dark skin and black hair to match for it. Her eyes are almost black, with a trace of dark brown when there's enough light shining. Her black hair, however, is simply black. It's cut short, falling just above shoulder length, and completely straight with thick bangs across her forehead.

Clothing-wise Jane likes it simple. She wears a dark green shirt with sleeves coming up to her elbow. Underneath she wears a black tank-top, both shirts are rather close-fitted, showing the small chest that she has, and accentuating her thin form. She wears blue skinny jeans with the outfit and owns a pair of bright red flats to go with it. Jane wears a silver bracelet on her right wrist and silver earrings in her ears.
To carry all of her stuff in Jane owns a rather old and brown laptop bag, with a white laptop inside of it. The bag has pockets all over the front to put stuff in, and it has a second spot inside it where Jeans keeps her bright red coat. The coat is of a woolish material, with two big bittons on the very top, and it flows down almost to her knees from that part on. She also carries thick white socks for the colder parts of the region.

Personality: Jane is like the perfect combination of a girly girl and a tomboy, swinging straight in between. She's very outgoing, and sais what comes to mind, which has a tendency of getting her into trouble. She can be quite judgmental sometimes especially with the occasional vocalized brainwave that comes out of her mouth. Jane seems to have boundless energy of sorts, although this energy has not yet been tested on an actual journey.

Janeis also quite the sore loser with quite the short temper. She has a bad habit of snapping at people when they tell her things she doesn't really want to know. Generally, Jane just suffers from mood swings. Seriously though, one minute she's all happy, you say something wrong, and all hell breaks loose.

Jane likes to think that she's incredibly independent, but really, she's not. She's always had a rather protective stepbrother, and she's actually not entirely ready to go out on her own. That's what she has the laptop for, though. Ty made her promise that she'd email him every day, at least, and she's definitely planning on doing good to that promise.

Another small but notable thing is that Jean is obsessed with Steelix', and steel Pokémon in general. It's because of her middle name, Jasmine. She feels that it was a sign meaning that she's supposed to become this great steel type trainer. Crazy? Yes. Her main goal in life is to have at least one totally kick-ass Steelix.

History: Jane grew up in Lilycove City for the first years of her life. Her dad was in charge of the lighthouse there and her mom was a housewife. Things had always been shaky between her mom and her dad, and they really had it coming, divorce-wise. It was a miracle that they had lasted that long. You see, Jane's parents were high school sweethearts, and were really way too young to marry, and too young to have a baby. It put too much stress on their relationship. Jane's dad started to spend every waking moment in the lighthouse while her mom was all alone. The final straw was when her mom found out that the man hadn't actually been spending all of his precious time at the lighthouse. He had an affair, and the marriage was over.

Jane and her mom, Caren, moved away to Dewford, where her mother got a job at the port, taking tickets. It was a crappy job with crappy hours and crappy pay, but it was a job. Jane was 4 by this time. A year later, on a beautiful day, a ship from Vassa full of tourist came into Dewford, but something with the visas went wrong, causing a lot of passengers to be stranded inside the port before they were allowed into the city. Caren had to try and keep the peace between the obviously agitated passengers. Naturally, she was having no luck. At that moment a guy stepped up and commanded the attention of everyone. He calmed people down and made them all civil again. Caren couldn't thank him enough, and she ended up buying him lunch.

Several hours later, the whole mess got resolved and the passengers were allowed in the city. The guy, whose name was Dean, stayed to keep Caren company during her shift, and he escorted her home. The day after he came back to the port to talk to her. Caren invited him home for dinner and he charmed the six year old Jane into loving him. Dean and Caren pretty much spent the whole week together until it was time for Dean to get back home. Teary goodbye and a totally romantic kiss later, and Dean was on his way back to his own town.

In the mean time, Caren was miserable for the next year, missing the spontaneous man that had jumped into her life. A year later another ship arrived from the Vassa region. To Caren's surprise the same blonde-haired man emerged from the ship and literally lifted her off her feet in a hug. There was a little dark-haired boy with him, his son, Ty. Dean and Ty stayed at Caren't small apartment. Seven year old Jane was delighted with having someone to play with. Ty was one year older than she was, and immediately took to her as well. The two of them together raised a few eyebrows when they walked down the street. Jane was obviously black and Ty was completely white, but they both laughed about it.

Dean and Ty stayed in Dewford for a month. Dean and Caren got married. A lot of people weren't very happy with this, for even though Caren had known Dean for a year, they had only actually seen each other for a month and a week. But they wouldn't listen, convinced it was true love. Caren went back with Dean to his house in Amber Town. Dean worked as lab technician and therefore had quite a decent house. Much better than the crowded apartment that Jane had previously lived in.

The next years were all good years. Caren went back to being a stay-home mom. Ty loved her like she was his actual mother and Jane loved Dean like he was her father. And the both of them loved each other as if they were true siblings. Jane sometimes got picked on because she was so small, but Ty would always come up for her, even though he wasn't exactly buff either. They were closer than peanut butter and jelly.

Then came the time that the Vassa region was going to start handing out Pokémon. Dean got Jane a spot on the list, and she was way excited. Ty was happy for her, he himself wouldn't want to be a trainer. He was aspiring to help in the lab just like his father. But Ty made Jane promise she would email him twice a day, 'or else'. And that is where the story starts.

    Name: Kitora Minuzune

    Gender: Male

    Age: 14

Appearance: He's 5'5'' with medium length light brown hair with purple streaks. As for his build he's not buff but he is in shape. He has dark blue eyes that look purple in certain light. He has a scar on his left shoulder consisting of three claw marks that go in about the size of a clipped pinkie nail, witch the scar is normally barley visible. He has light skin but he gets quite a bit darker in the summer.

He always wears a purple hoodie with a darker purple half pokeball on his chest. He wears a long or short, depending on the weather, sleeve any colored t-shirt. on his neck he wears a necklace with a purple crystal pendant. He wears any pants his mom buys and are normally blue jeans. He puts a chain on his pants that ends in a pokeball charm, the size of a pokeball when not in use.

Personality: He is a the kind of person who seems to be happy no matter what. If he's not in a good mood then someone either made him mad or something completely horrible had just recently happened. He can cheer just about anyone up when they are in a sad, or mad. mood and is someone you can go to for advice, encouragement, and to talk to about serious matters. Yes, even though he seems like he could never have a serious moment in his life, he can be extremely serious. He is also WAY to over protective of people important to him, and if he is a good friend of yours you can bet your life on him and he wont let you down.

His negative behaviors are fewer than positive. When you put his friends at risk expect to get him mad. When he's mad he loses it, whether he is outmatched in skill or numbers he will take on whoever made him mad, and surprisingly will win, even if all odds are against him. A more subtle negative is that he is a total pack-rat and cannot part with the dumbest things. Lastly is he is very competitive and when he gets the advantage or takes the lead and he will get extremely cocky.

History: Kitora's mom and dad where some of the first to come to the new region and live in Amber Town. Then six years later his mom gave birth to Kitora. Growing up Kitora loved Pokemon and liked watching wild Pokemon and was able to watch a few battles over territory between wild Pokemon. His favorite thing to do was to stay up in bed and look out the window for ghost Pokemon, which where his favorite type, he only knew about them from books. Tough he loved them the only one he ever got to be around was his dads poochyena.

Then when Kitora was 10 there was a group of three kids picking on him and his friends and they had a Pokemon to back them up, a weavile belonging to one of their dads. Everyday as Kitora and his three friends would go to play in the woods the group would appear and bully them around and left. One day after the group had left and his friends did too a Pokemon appeared. It was a hitmonlee. The hitmonlee had been watching the bullies bully them and it wanted to help Kitora become strong to get them to back down. Somehow, and he didn't even know how, Kitora knew what hitmonlee meant when he spoke in his Pokemon language about him training Kitora. Then within the next week of playing being bullied and training Kitora was ready to take the group on, the only problem was that the kids had not brought the weavile in three days so Kitora forgot about it.

So when the bullies came back the next day, later than usual about the time everyone would go home, Kitora said to them, "Back off! or else!". the kids just laughed, and that's when Kitora sprinted over to the leader of the gang and kicked him in the gut. The leader stumbled backward holding his gut then shouted, "Weavile! Metal claw!". Kitora was frightened at that point and jumped back as the Pokemon swung, but it was pointless and Kitora was hit badly on his left shoulder and fell to the ground unconscious.

His dad noticed that they where out later than usual and went to the forest to find them. When he arrived he saw what was happening and scared away the group with his mightyena and rushed Kitora to a hospital. Although it its still sore to this day, he made a full recovery.

  • Name: Chuck Magro
    Gender: Neither Male
    Age: 17

Appearance: Chuck is approximately 5'10", and weighs in at about 140 pounds. He has long, straight strawberry-blonde hair, and his eyebrows are bushy of the same color. An unusual feature is his eyelashes, which are blonde at the root, but gradually change to the standard black. He has dirty blonde stubble growing in as both sideburns and a small beard, but no moustache. Chuck has deep brown eyes, to the point where it is hard to see a distinction between the iris and the pupil. Chuck is averagely built: There are muscles, but they aren't very visible. He has unusually long legs, and a rather small torso.

Chuck wears his favorite pair of faded jeans daily, no matter the occasion. He also wears a white undershirt, with a navy blue v-neck tee shirt on top of it. His sneakers are a combination of gray, white, and blue, with white shoelaces. If it is cold, Chuck will put on a zip-up black fleece to keep himself warm. He has both ears pierced with diamond studs. Chuck wears a black and blue sports watch on his left wrist at all times.

Personality: Currently, Chuck is expressing emotions for the entire spectrum, which truly affect his personality. Chuck has become a short-tempered, on-fuse person, where a single spark can set off feelings of rage and hate that will last what may seem a lifetime. His depression and loneliness lead to shyness and seclusion from other people, which lead to the fact that he has a hard time making friends. His anxiety emotions cause paranoia for himself and all of those around him.

But it isn't always a negative experience with Chuck's personality. Although making friends with Chuck isn't an easy proposition, it most certainly can be done, and once it is, a whole new side to Chuck is revealed (Which is usually reserved for his adoptive parents). With friends and family, Chuck is a kind and sincere person. His anxiety turns to actual concern out of caring for those people he chooses to trust. He opens up to his friends, and all of the negative emotions are put to rest, unless provoked by an outside circumstance.

History: Chuck lived a privileged childhood in the Johto Region: His family always had money, and he never ceased to get what his heart desired. After being put into private school in Goldenrod City, extraneous miles away from his home in Blackthorn City, his parents seemed to be home less and less. Every school break that the school celebrated, Chuck traveled home, but his parents seemed to be missing over seventy-five percent of the time. He chose to stay with his compassionate neighbors over the breaks where his parents were missing-in-action, which raised Chuck more than his parents seemed to.

This vicious cycle continued until Chuck was about twelve years old, where both of his parents dropped off of the map completely. The house in Blackthorn was deserted, left to rot and crumble under the forces of nature. His neighbors adopted Chuck into their family, and took him out of the school in Goldenrod and had him attend the local school in Blackthorn. It seemed that things went from good, to bad, back to good again: He had a nice childhood until his parents left, but his great neighbors adopted him and all was well. Or was it…?

Not quite. Chuck was suppressing feelings to his new adoptive parents, which were rather understandable for his situation: Rage, depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Enraged for thinking his parents ditched him, filling him with hate towards his parents. He gained depression, for he received no answers for why his parents left, and wondering if it was his fault. Chuck was anxious for the well being of his parents, and if they were truly gone. Loneliness: Although he now had a new family to care for him, he felt lonely from the loss of his biological family.

From that point on, Chuck bottled up his feelings, all the way up to age seventeen, where he finally released his emotions to his adoptive parents. They sympathized with him, and understood his position. They saw the advertisement for the new entry for Pokemon trainers to the Vassa Region, and they instantly had the same thought: What better way to start fresh and leave behind all bad feelings for his past than leaving his birthplace for a new journey? After presenting Chuck with this information, he quickly agreed with them. He looked up the Pokemon that the migrated Professor Elm was offering to the new trainers, and quickly saw the one he knew would be his: Gible. Gible would be a good match for him: Not only did he grow up in a town based upon Dragon Pokemon, but it was what the Dragon type represented that fit Chuck more: Unrelenting emotion, most commonly rage, giving great strength to those who could control it. Perhaps it would be a positive omen for Chuck, but only his journey will tell.

    Name: Nevada Wheeler
    Gender: Female
    Age: 15
Appearance: At the age of 15, Nevada Wheeler has gone through all her growth spurts and as for puberty, that came at the age of 12 for her. Nevada stands at 168cm, or 5 ft 6 and a half, of average build, weighing in at around 60 kilograms. At first glance, many people mistake her for being years older than she is, whether it be her hourglass figure or her bust size. She is not what people would call skinny yet she is not fat either.

As a child, Nevada had snow-white thick hair that used to curl perfectly into her face, but as time went on, her hair colour grew duller into a sandy blonde and her loose curls turned into a wavy thick mess. At the age of thirteen, Nevada discovered the glory of the straightener and has only been seen with wonderfully straight hair ever since. She has been known to have mild panic attacks if she walks out in public with even a slight kink in her golden locks. Her skin tone is pale and when she is embarrassed or angry, her face goes bright red. Thanks to her father, she has dark blue eyes and hardly any eyebrows and from her mother, Nevada inherited the plump pink lips and slightly big ears, which she hides well under her long hair. She has a front fringe that stops just above her eye lids, meaning she needs a hair cut every few weeks to keep it from getting in her eyes. Even though people have been known to call her 'pretty' or even 'beautiful', Nevada is no supermodel in the looks department, even if she wishes she was.

Nevada is known for her love of the colour red, yet with her skin being so pale, she mostly wears blacks and blues. Her most comfortable outfit consists of a long, tight dark blue top (which hugs her curves perfectly says her friends) and a pair of washed-out grey jeans. She believes that she can wear thongs (the ones that go on your feet) in pretty much any weather and to walk over any terrain, but if it calls for her to wear closed toe shoes, she adopts an old pair of runners. She also wears a silver diamond ring on her right hand, which was given to her boyfriend months before he died from cancer.

Personality: Nevada has always been known as the 'innocent' girl or the 'teacher's pet' and has a kind and friendly nature. Her friend's consider her to be a good listener and is always there to lend a helping hand, no matter what the situation, which sometimes can have its problems.

She can be extremely over-emotional when she likes, and loves to create an argument out of nothing if she feels in the mood to yell. Nevada is very stubborn and sticks to whatever she has said hours after she realizes she was wrong. If anything calls for immediate action, she stresses out easily but always pulls through as she does her best under pressure. She can be quite negative towards herself but when someone else is feeling down, she will be the first person on the scene to tell them the wonderful things about themselves.

Ever since she was little, Nevada loved watching movies about love and is now a hopeless romantic, craves affection and with her luck, is prone to heart break. She also has the habit to sing randomly and has a wonderful singing voice.

History: Nevada was the first of seven children and is also the only girl out of her siblings. She was born in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh and spent the first 3 years of her life there before her father was fired from his job at Snowpoint City Research Center. The family soon became poor after losing their source of income and one day, Nevada's father looked through the newspaper to find an opening at a new research building in the region of Vassa and the family quickly moved to the small Amber Town, with her father being given the job. She attended the local primary school and participated in ballet lessons in the town's hall before she decided that dancing was not her calling. When she was four, her brother, John, was born and every year after that, her mother popped out another boy, before her parents called it quits with having any more children, bring the score to six boys to one girl.

It was in high school when Nevada's life changed. One day when she was walking home from school, she spotted a boy riding his bike down her street. This boy seemed no older than her and had pale skin and blonde hair like her. She watched him gliding down the road and caught his eye as he looked her way. Not looking where he was going, the boy managed to stack his bike into a tree and quick as ever, Nevada was on the scene, making sure he wasn't hurt. This is when she met, Ben, the boy who would soon steal her heart.

They were inseparable, always at each other's side and everyone commented on how they made such a lovely couple. Her parents, who were weary at first with her being so close to a boy, came to know Ben as another one of their sons. On her 15th birthday, Ben even got down on one knee and asked Nevada to marry him, knowing he could never love anyone else as long as he lived. Too right he was, because 6 months later, Ben died in hospital, Nevada holding his hand after battling against cancer.

Lauren became depressed after Ben's death and sometimes wished herself dead so she could be with her beloved. When her parents found out about that the migrated Professor Elm was given out starter Pokemon to six lucky new trainers, they discussed this opportunity with her and she agreed to give it a chance. That night as she lay in bed, she closed her eyes and asked Ben to forgive her for what she was about to do; go away on a journey and try to forget about all the heartache for a little while, to forget about him, and somehow, she knew what his response was, and with the approval of her love, Nevada put her whole self into being picked as one of the six trainer to travel Vassa.

  • Oh my god you actually have my favourite Pokémon there (well its pre-evo anyway). You are awesome.

    ***

    Name: Tyron Oliver
    Gender: Male
    Age: 17

    Appearance:
Tyron has a muscly build. Most of the time his body is covered, however in hot conditions his arms and legs show and a disciplined work regime is obvious. He is of an average height, perhaps a tiny bit taller, but if he looks intimidating it's because of the work he has put in to make himself stronger. He has brown hair, though it's very short (probably about half a centimeter long) so it's hard to tell what shade it is. It's also hard to come to any conclusions about his hair at all when he wears a hooded jumper, as he almost always does. He has a mature face - not old enough to look like he's thirty but he definitely seems a lot older than he actually is.

Close your eyes for a second, and think of the guy you walk past when you go into the city who looks kinda shady, like he gets into street fights a lot and always wins. That's this guy. He wears pants or shorts depending on the weather, however they're usually a swampy green colour, similar to military cargo pants however not camouflaged. He doesn't have designer shoes but they do look pretty cool if I may say it. They're just plain and black, though they've got a lot of padding in them. You know the kind of shoes I'm talking about right? Yeah, those ones.

He wears a black singlet and unless the weather is hot, he'll be wearing a dark grey jumper with the hood up over the top of it. And black socks. Okay I shouldn't have made another paragraph I can't fill this up DX

    Personality:
Despite his appearance, Tyron isn't an idiot. He won't start speaking like "you messin wit me?" or listen to techno or rap music really loudly on the train. He's the opposite, really; he thinks much like the silent kid who always plans his next moves, the one who stands alone with a pale face and keeps to himself. The reason he is so built is because he worked for it. Tyson is involved in a constant pursuit of perfection, and he knows the only thing that he can change is himself. He cannot force other people to do things, nor would he want to - it goes against his morals. He works or trains non-stop in order to get better. Any display of emotion, any slight mistake is a sign of weakness.

Tyron is constantly training and pushing himself to the limits to become what he believes is a better person. He doesn't talk to people if he can avoid it, however if conversation is brought up he has no hesitation to answer any questions asked of him. He is cool and calculating. He always seems to know what to do, and if for some reason he doesn't he will fix it and eliminate the problem. He is quick witted and strong. Just about his entire life is put towards improving himself. However, even though he is strict with himself, he is the complete opposite with other people. He is tolerant and can understand why people would do the weirdest things. He doesn't abide by any religious or superstitious beliefs - his entire persona is governed by logic.

However, he does have his flaws. Because of the routine of his daily life, he has little to no social skills and only talks when spoken to. Despite figuring out so much about people from silent observation, he has no idea how to act himself and in all honesty he doesn't really want to. Without even realising it Tyron doesn't see his social skills as something that makes him weak. If it was brought to his attention, he would probably try and work on it, but he hasn't even peeked down that avenue yet. He is also obsessed with doing everything his own way and doesn't seek help with anything, meaning he could take a week to do something that should only take a day or two. He blames everything on himself, however guilty to him is a sign of weakness and so he works to correct these things so they do not happen again, even when they weren't his fault in the first place. Nobody has ever tried to understand this way of thinking so more likely than not he will continue like this for a long, long time.

    History:
Tyron was born seventeen years ago to parents who had vowed to love their child. They found that quite hard as time went on. For the first seven or eight years of his life he was a pretty normal kid, but after an incident with a bunch of other kids in which he was called weak and insulted for losing a sporting game he made it his goal to show everyone that he wasn't that. Over time he grew more and more obsessed with this and eventually he'd forgotten just what he was doing it for, or even that he was doing it for something other than improving himself in the first place. His parents grew worried with how he was acting. By the age of eleven he was a loner. Not that he cared. He had chosen that life in order to make himself better.

He broke one of the bones in his leg when he was twelve years old and refused to walk on crutches. Instead he remained in bed or at his desk studying. Even when he was restricted physically he was still dedicated to improving himself. When he was well enough to walk with a cane he began walking with one, even though he was advised to be on crutches. His parents couldn't understand his way of thinking. He had grown distant from them, distant from everyone and lost in his own world. He didn't have anybody to confide in but himself. Eventually his leg grew better. He trained himself often to reach certain goals, for example covering a certain distance running in a particular time frame. He was once awake for thirty-seven hours straight trying to achieve a certain physical goal, which caused him to fall into unconsciousness. As soon as he woke up he jumped out of bed and went straight back to where he was and continued.

At the age of fifteen, Tyron left his home in Fuschia and began working at the Pokémon Dojo in Saffron, where not only he could train himself further but he could take time to observe Pokémon in battle in reality and away from books. Even though the karate masters in the gym were all using fighting Pokémon, challengers always brought in new and exciting types and from this he learned how to fight better. He began to adopt the hooded jumper style of clothes after all of his grew too small and another person working at the Dojo gave him his old clothes. Eventually David grew out of these. He bought his own clothes with some of the money he had made (he had spent hardly any of it on leisure or for his own pleasure, that would be weak, remember). When he heard about the newly discovered Vassa Region, he figured that this was an opportunity that could not be passed up and left Saffron in order to pursuit a trainer's life.
