  • I'm starting my Platinum Steel-type run with Piplup.
I'm going to use also Skarmory, Magnemite, Steelix, Scizor and Lucario.
I'd rather use Aron than Steelix and Matagross than Scizor, but swarming is available after E4 :/

  • Heres how my Electric Type Ultimate Mono Type Challenge is going,

I'm in kanto, just finished the second gym leader with nought but a single lvl 25 Pikachu, I'm on my way to the S.S.Anne and Vermillion city, i figure it will be one of the toughest gyms there yet, considering their lvl and me only having my 1 LVL25 unevolved Pikachu by my side, but i know i can do it.
also i would like to ask something, would you mind if i slightly cheated by adding an elekid lvl1 to my team?

P.S. I cheated a Mew to be a HM slave, is that ok?

Edit: Pikachu evolves to raichu on my way to celadon gym, got eevee wich evolved to jolteon.

  • First little update.
I chose bulbasaur as a starter, but dumped him in the box as soon as I caught a rattata and a pidgey. I got through the Veridian Forest and I am currently grinding them like crazy before I take on Brock.

    Gust
    Sand-Attack

  • Started Crystal portion of Ultimate Flying Monochallenge.

    • Named self Fargo, rival is Hal.
    • Picked Chikorita (fail).
    • Did the Mystery Egg stuff.
    • Caught a Pidgey at L4, named him Skylar.
    • Fought my way to Violet City.
    • Massacred Sprout Tower with Gust. Taught Flash to Chikorita.
    • Beat Faulkner easily.

      ultflyfaulkner.png

That damage is from all three fights in the gym lol.

    • Made my way south to Union Cave.
    • In Union Cave, caught a L8 Zubat. Skylar evolved into Pidgeotto.
    • Reached Azelea Town.
    • Talked to Kurt, then beat TR in the Well.
    • Challenged the Gym.

      ultflybugsy.png

Flying is good here. Gust against Scyther, and Zubat took care of Metapod and Kakuna.

    • Then Hal showed up for our first real fight. Actually lost once because Ember burned Skylar and he was sunk. Used Sand Attack 5 times, but Quilava hit Ember twice in a row to kill Zubat. Second time around, no burn = win. Forgot the screenshot.
    • Am about to go through Ilex Forest to Goldenrod, where I will name Zubat Venom (again) and Chikorita Green.

    Team Fargo:
    Spr_2c_017.gif

    Skylar (Pidgeotto, M) - L21
Moves: Quick Attack, Gust, Sand-Attack, Tackle
    Spr_2c_041.gif

    Zubat, F - L16
    Moves: Leech Life, Supersonic, Bite

    Chikorita, M - L5

    Ultimate Ground - Kanto - Update 2

    Celadon to Fuschia:
    - Got a silph scope
    - Caught a Cubone
    - Caught a Rhyhorn
    - Retired Graveler

    Koga:
    - Challenged at level 37. His Weezing was quite a contender but otherwise no real difficulty.

    Saffron:
    - Cleared out Silph HQ

    Sabrina:
    - Challenged at level 40. Her team is fairly powerful and with most of my pokes not having great special defense they took a lot of damage and KO's but I managed to beat her in the first battle anyways.

    Saffron to Cinnabar:
    - Skipped Seafoam Islands
    - Cleared Pokemon Mansion

    Blaine:
    - Challenged at level 43. Easy peasy with type advantage.

    Giovanni:
    - Challenged at level 44. The mirror match-up! A fun battle facing almost my entire team on the opposite side at par levels. Nidoking's Surf was a big help. After the battle we chilled for a bit, talking Ground pokes and about how much Water pokes stink.

    Rival Battle: (Outside Viridian)
    - Challenged at level 44-45.
    - Round 1: His L.53 Blastoise got off a Rain Dance and proceeded to destroy every single member of my team with Water Guns.
    - Round 2: Managed to take down his Blastoise after a few casualties and then was easily able to sweep the rest of his team.

This has been a clear lesson of the power of high level water pokes and how badly they are going to own me. I am not looking forward to Lorelei. :(

:t028: L.45 Razor the Jolly Sandslash
    Slash / Brick Break / Sand-Attack / Dig
:t034: L.45 Kapow the Docile Nidoking
Megahorn / Thunderbolt / Surf / Double Kick
:t031: L.44 Minxie the Bashful Nidoqueen
Bite / Body Slam / Shock Wave / Superpower
:t051: L.44 Duchess the Adamant Dugtrio
    Rock Slide / Mud-Slap / Magnitude / Dig
:t105: L.44 Cynthia the Lonely Marowak
Bonemerang / Bone Club / Headbutt / Hidden Power (Bug)
:t112: L.44 Aegis the Adamant Rhydon
Rock Blast / Stomp / Horn Drill / Thief

    Update

Waking up in the Pokemon Center in Slateport, in a continent where the sun never sets, I found myself going north towards Mauville.I met May again, and beat her, recieving an item finder when I won. Then,I finally reached the city after dealling with some buffon in a "Trick house". I found myself investigating a bike shop, and receiving my own bike.I did more training, Finding the way to Verdanturf town in the process, and then took on the gym in Mauville. I took out most of the trainers with ease. I didn't have too much trouble with the gym leader, but one of his pokemon finally managed to knockout Magic. But I soon paid him back with Staff. I received The TM and badge, and quickily used it on Staff, So we finally have a Anti-Dark measure. I went to Verdanturf, smashing the boulders so that the lovely couple were reunited. I visited Wally, who seemed a lot better.I guess I can sympathize with him a little, being a little frail and all. But still. Finding and Catching that Ralts without even hardly trying!Lucky!I went back to Mauville, Heading north and getting interviewed along the way. of course, I beat the snot out of them. Perhaps now all those random trainers will leave me alone, now That I'm on TV...or so I thought. I smashed the rocks blocking my way and headed north. Now he's where the day got really weird.(If you can even call it a day. Accursed Sun!) Now, you see,I think Spending so much time with only psychic type pokemon is starting to affect me. On route 11, I got the feeling something was calling me. I followed my gut, Going toward the desert, but found I couldn't proceed. I tried to ignore it, making my way away from the desert and onto the Bottom of Mount chimney. I reviewed my map, thinking that going in the Firey path would help me get to the Next gym.So I Trudged on, enduring the heat in the Firey path. I Walked past the desert, Getting that same feeling again.Continuing north, I ended up into a valley filled with ASHES ((Little Champion wannabes.)Pun intended.) I continued, sneezing the whole way to a flute maker, and then to Fallarbor town. It was there that someone told me that the next gym was in LAVARIDGE! You could not imagine my Frustation when I found out. I kept going, begining to sense that 'calling' again as I got closer and closer to Meteor Falls. I walked in and found some guy being robbed by guys in Red. They called themselves Team Magma, claiming to expand the landmass for the good of all.Great, another Set of Insane Idiots trying to be intimdating. I still Say The Rockets could kick their butts. They were REAL villians. And Giovanni...Don't even get me started on him.Anyway, they ran off, after being chased by Team Aqua. I search around, ignoring the Teams for now. I eventually found A Solrock, whom I captured and named PsychoRock. The weird feeling dissapeared as I exited south towards Rustboro. I made my way through the RustTurf tunnel, eventusly ending up back where I started. I head northward to the base of Mt. Chimney, Then saw a Sign that said "For Mt. Chimney Summit and Lavaridge town, take the cable car." Wish I had seen that the first time! I took said cable car, heading south for the Jagged pass, Only to discover that It was blocked by Team Aqua and Magma Goons fighting. I went straight up to the leader to asked what the deal was, but he just rambled on And on about his plan. I finally just decided To beat him to show him who's boss and to shut him up. However, he just dissappeared and left behind the Meteorite, Which I took. Then after everyone was gone, I finally went down to The Jagged pass, Where I felt more of the weird feeling. I, following my instinct, Searched the area and found a Spoink, Another Psychic pokemon. I captured it and named it BouncyPig. The feeling dissolved once again as I headed for the gym in Lavaridge. I didn't have much trouble with the local Gym trainers, But Flannery herself was a bit...Odd. She was really shy, and apparently Was a new to being a gym leader. She attacked me when I talked to her and she couldn't come up with anything intimidating to say. I think her cheecks were red through out the entire battle, but that could've been because the gym felt like a Sauna. Or she could've Thought I was cute...Or I could be deluding myself. Anyway, I beat her promptly, then started to leave. Saying nothing, she took my Pokenav and registered herself and mine on hers. I said nothing either, not rembering that Every gym Leader had also done the same, but took my pokenav, blushing slightly before I left. Or could've been the sauna Again. I mean, It was REALLY hot in there. As soon as I got out, I was bothered by May again, giving me the Go-Goggles. I still think she's a little arrogant. "I see. You are defeating gym leaders because you don't want to be beat by me!" HA! As if she could ever beat me... Any way, I called my dad up, telling him I had gotten stronger and four bagdes, and he told me it was time to challenge him. Now I had choices; Try and Train up, challenge my dad, or try to find out what was calling me in the Desert, now that I could get through...
    I Chose to rest.Signing out.

  • I started a G/S/C Fire Monotype Challenge today on Gold, and thanks to the emulator's speed button, i got rather far.

    -Started with Cyndaquil
    -Ran through the early game
-Cyndaquil evolved in the Sprout Tower
    -OHKO'd all of Faulkner's Pokemon

-My over leveled Quilava made short work of my rival and Bugsy
-Caught a Sandshrew for an HM Slave
    -Made it through the forest
-Battle with Whitney was kinda weird. Ember burned miltank, and i almost ko'd it before it ko'd quilava. i sent out sandshrew, planning to take the loss but it missed rollout and the burn ko'd miltank, i win
    -got the squirt bottle
-The egg hatched, im going to keep togepi for flash and fly once it evolves
    -caught sudowoodo
-Beat my rival in the burned tower, rollout for the win
    -Caught a Magmar
-Went back to Goldenrod and got the Eevee from Bill
    -Beat Morty
-Caught a Poliwag to Surf and other water HMs
-Quilava evolved on the way to Cianwood
    -Beat Chuck
    -Wentback, beat Jasmine
    -Headed to Mahogany
    -Beat the Rockets

I am not doing my electric anymore but I would like to do another one.
I am not sure whether to pick Ground, Fighting, Fire or Poison.
Could someone help me to choose?

Also I am at Silph. CO in my bug challenge.

I'm doing Ground right now. Ground has a lot of advantages over a lot of other pokemon types. They generally have big attack and defense values. The biggest challenge is that water-types will generally completely roll your entire team unless you come up with some good strategies or give in and over-level your pokes.

I thought about doing Fire-Types too but I don't like how in most of the games fire-types are hard to find in the first half of the game. I just like to keep a full roster of par leveled pokes than have 2-3 overkill ones.
