    Name:

    Missouri Wright

    Gender:

    Female

    Age:

    15

    Personality:

Missouri was always a self-confident and head-strong girl. Her parents coached her into becoming a perfectionist, maybe even a bit too fanatically. Missouri never puts off her duties and sees things as they are which has caused people to consider her a little of a pessimist. Because she puts loads of effort in everything she does she also feels extremely accomplished when she finishes off things. It is one of the few things that really gives her satisfaction. She also finds great enjoyment in listening to music and singing, she always finds the perfect song for every mood.

She never really got along with others well but since she is aware of having Brain Rotting Syndrome she is trying her hardest to be a friendly and memorable person. This condition has also affected other facets of her personality instead of looking to the future like she usually did she now knows to cherish every minute she has and that she should just enjoy life a little more. Although her mentality has changed it isn't showing on the outside very well, she still has trouble not thinking about the outcome of things. It just isn't in her nature. Maybe it is because she used to despise reckless people who do not think things through well enough, but really she doesn't know herself.

    History:

Missouri was a very determined girl, everything she has ever vowed to do, she has done and she has accomplished the things she wanted in life that were possible for her to do at the time. One of her biggest desires was to learn how to play the violin, to become famous with her skills.

Because of her devotion she had always managed to stay of others her age, intelligence wise. Although her focus didn't come without a price, Missouri was left with very little 'spare' time. Anyone who had tried to sympathize with her she has always put off for things that seemed more important for the future. She couldn't deny the feeling of emptyness inside her chest sometime though but she didn't really know what to do about it.

At first she tried to push it away by working even harder on her violin practice but this only made the feeling grow worse. So one day she went outside, she went to the hill just out of town and she laid her body to rest. Without noticing she fell asleep and slept for a long period of time. Upon her awakening Missouri found herself surrounded by a troupe of Poochyena, not owning any Pokemon she was clueless as to what to do. She might have studied about all sorts of Pokemon but she was never taught what to do in such a situation.

Just as she was about to burst out in tears a Houndour jumped from the bushes, it was particularly trying to protect her, it seemed he was targeting the Poochyena for some reason. As the Houndour bravely fended off the Poochyena Missouri tryed to get closer to it. She stayed somewhat away from the Poochyena though. As the battle was over the Houndour briefly looked at her, as if expecting a thank you but then quickly dashed off back into the bushes.

Since that day she has developed a strong admiration for fire-type Pokemon and especially Houndour, it also resulted in her constantly playing with her parents' Pokemon; Eevee.

Upon first hearing she was diagnosed to have Brain Rotting Syndrome Missouri almost already died inside. Had she done all her efforts for nothing? She had done everything to make sure her future would be rose-colored but this was completely unaccounted for. There was no way she could die happily like this! When she explained her condition to her parents they told her about the rumor of the Elite Four. They told her they'd try to gather more information about it. And for the first time in her life Missouri decided on her own faith, in the midst of the night, she fled. She fled out of the hospital, into the world. She was not going to die here and now. She refused to die here and now.

    Appearance:

Missouri has chin-length black hair with a fringe that's a little too long so you don't see her light violet colored eyes most of the time. She refuses to get her hair cut though because she isn't very fond of her eyes. She isn't very fond of her height either; standing at 5'2'' she is quite small for her age. Wearing a white, frilly skirt with some ancient Unown writing patterns on it often gains her some odd looks alhough she doesn't really notice.

Her upper body is covered with a long, black, collared hoodie that she never zips up with a plain grey sleeveless top underneath it. She usually has her knee-length black boots on with either white or grey laces and always wears a necklace with a cross, even though she isn't a Christian. She just really likes the necklace and she's had it since she was little. You'll never encounter Missouri anywhere without her Ipod either, and she actually still wears classic headphones.

    Starter:

I really wanted Houndour, but if that isn't okay with you you can appoint me to someone else.

Hey I'd like to take part in this one with Torchic as a starter (if this is not ok with you, I'll take any other starter as well). I would do an SU then but I can't give an RP example, as this is my first Pokemon RP ever, I only did some Fantasy Wrestling RP's for two years, so I'm not a noob in RP things ;-)

    Name: Kim Clare McDonald

    Gender: Female

    Age: 15

Personality: Kim is a very talkative, happy-go lucky girl who loves nothing more then spending an afternoon with her friends and family, playing some sort of game. She loves company and is friendly to most everyone she meets. It's not that hard for her to make friends and she often finds herself making 'temporary' friends. However, tall of this has a bit of a back lash to it, since Kim has a very unreasonable feeling that she needs to be surrounded by people all the time. She can't stand being alone and can actually go into a bit of a panic attack if left for too long.

Kim is also fairly artistic and loves to paint. This lets her see the subtle shades of colors. Also, though she usually never realizes it, she can also see changes in a person's emotions and is very observant of their body language. However, she usually doesn't know what these signs mean and often ignores them. This also makes her quite naive and willing to believe much of what people tell her.

History: Kim was born and raised in Sunyshore City. Her father was the owner of the local PokeMart and her mom just stayed at home. For the first five years of her life, nothing remarkable happened. She just went to preschool, got some friends and learned all she needed to know about to live and be a good girl. It wasn't until she turned six that her life changed at all. One day, she went to the PokeMart to visit her father. They talked for a bit before Kim left. It wasn't too much after that a stranger offered her some candy.

What happened next, Kim has never really said, though the stranger did come to justice. Since then, Kim has been terrified of being alone. She keeps thinking that if she is alone, the stranger or someone like him will come again. Her parents have tried putting her in therapy, but since she wouldn't say anything about what happened, there was very little that the therapist could do.

However, time passed and Kim seemed to slowly get pass what happened to her. She started to talk again, though never about the incident. She also seemed to get into a real interest in art and soon found her passion for painting. She especially loved to paint Pokemon and their surroundings. For the next jump in her life, Kim seemed to be just like every other girl and enjoyed the company of others.

Of course, her life once again took a drastic change when she got the post card. At first, things seemed to be better. She was finally starting her Pokemon journey and was going to travel. But then she started to feel the weakness and soon passed out.

When she woke up next, she was in a hospital bed and the doctor told her about the sickness she had and how there was no cure. Kim was completely crushed. Just when her life was about to really begin, it was now going to end. Or so she thought.

A person in the bed next to Kim told her of a rumour that said that the Pokemon League had the cure for this disease. Awed by this new hope and knowing that she only had six months to do it, she ripped her cords off, put on some real clothes and headed out into the world.

Appearance: Kim is around five foot five with white skin and a slim build. She has small dark brown eyes and long hair that she dyed purple. Her face is some what pointed with a thin mouth and hawk like nose. She usually wears a black, long sleeved jacket with a red zipper and a short, ruffled skirt. Kim also has on a pair of knee high, brown boots, a black ribbon in her hair and a pair of fingerless gloves.

    Name: Jasper Jeremiah Lair

    Gender: Male

    Age: 15

Personality: Jasper used to be a very determined and stubborn boy, but happy nevertheless. He was even a bit arrogant, and definitely didn't lack any self confidence. He had an easy-going attitude that could always make people laugh, and he was well liked. That all took a blow when Jasper discovered that he had a time limit, and the limit was quickly ticking away.
Jasper holds himself strong for the sake of others, because if he's not strong than how can the people around him be? She he forces a smile, makes a joke, all while inside all he really wants to do is throw a childish tantrum, scream and lock himself up in his room.

Slowly but surely his actual personality is shining through the dark clouds that BRS has infected on it. His determination is one thing that never really went away. Jasper doesn't give up one things, he sees them through to the end. And this includes his life. While his charm might have temporarily washed away, the stubbornness stands.

Now, Jasper is a guy who doesn't really trust. He has this sense of self-pity gained with syndrome. He still has his charms, but he won't use them. He's afraid to get close to anyone, but at the same time his subconscious feels that he's lonely, it's a battle with himself. On one hand, he's afraid to get close to someone and then he'd die, on the other hand he years for socializing and friendship.
Little by little the boy is starting to get over it and accept his fate. Little by little his usual ways are shining through again and he's becoming who he used to be.

History: Jasper was a Floarama Case. He was born there and had always lived there, though his family did nothing with flowers or honey, which is what the town is so famous for. No, the Lair family had a B&B, which is how they earned their keep. You'd be surprised as to how many people would come through Floarama to see the flowers and the meadow, the Lairs made a right living from their 5 rooms. It was closer to a hotel, but they always called it Lair's B&B.

Jasper was always the little trouble-maker, and that never went away. But he was also the adorable one that never got into any actual trouble, because he would send out an adorable smile and apologize quite sincerely, and everything would be forgotten. This was how Jasper had always lived his life, he was the cute one, later the charming one, and he would always make people laugh and get them to like him.

Then a day came that he got his letter from Professor Oak, and naturally he got all excited. But before Jasper could even get to his parents to tell them the news, he suddenly felt completely dizzy and fell down. Next minute he wakes up in a hospital with a bunch of graveyard faces staring at him.

Brain Rotting Syndrome (Lovely name), no cure, no surgery, no medicine, not even radiation can stop it. Jasper was written down as dead. Dead in 6 months. Naturally this news lead to a few days of extreme desperation and inner depression, until Jasper caught whiff of a rumor going around.

The League had a cure. The Elite 4 had a cure…

Now all Jasper wanted was to go and get that cure. It was his only hope, but no doctor would let him out. So Jasper thought of the only sensible solution to this problem. He jumped out the window.

Appearance: Jasper is quite handsome indeed, one of the reasons that he has been able to get away with so many things. He has slightly tanned skin, warm brown eyes, a little dip-nose and dimples in his cheeks. His hair is a golden blonde, slightly curly and cut in a half-long fashion, just about chin-length. Jasper tall-ish too, being about 178 cm tall, but he won't win the tallest awards anytime soon. He's a bit muscled, though most of it comes is only visible when he flexes, but he's not the insane muscly kind of guy. He has his strength, but he doesn't show it off.

Clothing-wise Jasper likes to make it a bit simple. He often wears a simple white tank or t-shirt with an unbuttoned darker striped shirt overtop. His favourite combo consists of a light grey tank underneath an open shirt with blue and turquoise and grey stripes on it, vertical. Jasper hates having his sleeves down, he always pushes them up to his elbow unless it's below 0. He also carries a while full-sleeve tee with him for the colder parts, and an orange and black jacket for the real cold.

Underneath the shirts Jasper wears grey jeans, not too baggy but not tight either. They have quite a few pockets on them where Jasper hides things he needs to retrieve very quickly. To carry the rest of his stuff un, Jasper carries a brown duffel-bag with him. The shoes are usually either black loafers or grey sneakers with a bright green Nike logo on the side, depending on how far he has to travel.

    Name: Tsubaki Noir

    Gender: Female

    Age: 15

History: Tsubaki was born in Canalve city into a family of all boys, she was the youngest and also the only daughter of the infamous Noir family. The Noir family was famous for having so many sons being recruited into the military to fight wars and keep thing in check so even her youngest brother , 7 at the time, was training to be in the military. Tsubaki was no exception to this rule and as soon as she was able to walk she was put in to training for the military. She worked hard to try and keep up with her brothers in physical strength but often fell behind in the training courses often earning a harsh scolding from her strict father. When she was 10 years old she was given her first gun and learned target practice but such training did not go without mishaps, she often broke windows and once actually shot her father in the foot by accident. While her father was laid up she stopped training and began focusing her true interest in pokemon.

She bought books from the bookstore about dragon Pokemon. She always wanted a dragon pokemon to call her own because she thought dragons often represent power and elegance. Tsubaki always, secretly, wanted to be like a dragon pokemon, to have power and some kind of elegance, that was what she wanted to be like.

Eventually, Tsubaki's father's foot finally healed and his physical therapy was finished and he could FINALLY walk again. So once again she was forced to continue her harsh training as a soldier.

At the age of merely 13 she was already considered a full-fledged soldier. And she had achieved her dream of being like a dragon pokemon. She was known to take down her practice targets with a forceful elegance.

A few months after she turned 15 she was given a postcard that told her she qualified to get a Pokemon from Proffeser Rown. She happily accepted the invitation and hurried to finish packing. The next day whilest in the training room she collapsed was rushed to the hospital.

When she awoke she felt the solumn eyes of a doctor on her body and her mother weeping in the corner, her father meerly stoodback with that cold emotionless shell of his. She couldn't help but feel uncomterable with a big breathing tube and feeding tube shoved down her throat but she stopped thinking about it when she heard the doctors diagnosis.

Brain Rotting Syndrome? So even after all her training she wouldn't live to see the age of 16? That wasn't fair and in all her 12 years of training finally broke down and cried. She didn't want to die, she wanted to live... Then she heard the rumour of the cure possibly being in the elite four and then following her instict ripped all the tubes out of her body, gasping for breath, she left the hospital to find Professer Rowan in Twinleaf Town.

Personality: Tsubaki isn't neccessarily cold or emotionless, more like reserved about any situations because of her training as a soldier. She is also easily distrusting of people and will not trust people, she'd rather stick a gun in your face rather than give a friendly handshake. Tsubaki once realizing that your not there to hurt her will warm up to you and show that she can be kind and compasssionate. Due to her training she also has the formal matter of speaking such as "Yes Ma'am." or "No Ma'am." and also salutes you as a goodbye gesture. Another tidbit from her training is she can fluently speak English, French, and Japanese.

Appearance: Appearance wise she isn't musculer like one would think she'd be she is rather petite only standing at 5"3 and weighing 105 pounds she isn't what one would imagine if you were looking for a girl who had militia training but don't let looks fool you, if she's being threatened you'll be on the ground in a few seconds with a few broken bones. She has long blonde hair that reaches down to her mid back complimented with crystal blue eyes and peach-colored skin. Clothing wise if she isn't in her soldier uniform she comonly wears a A blue long sleeved shirt that could be considered almost to big for her and dark blue jeans with black converses.

Isokrates was really mad. He was mad at his doctor. He was mad at his parents. And, most of all, he was really mad at himself. The explanation of his anger could be summed up in two words: Mutuwar hauka, a.k.a. Brain Rotting Syndrome. Isokrates only had six months to live. He blamed this disease on his parents for not training him well to become successful, like the rest of the family. He was mad at the doctor for telling him about it. And, he was mad at himself. He was being a rebel, never studying, and rotting his brain with sports. He was mean and nasty. It was like a wake up call to him. I need to change my attitude. Laziness equals death at this time of my life. Normally, his attitude gave him detention or suspension. Now, if he was lazy, rebellious, and mean, he would lie on his deathbed in 6 months.

Isokrates got up, off his deathbed, having a fierce look in his eye. He stood tall, straight like a palm tree. Wearing a black suit, dress chinos and tie, he went out to Professor Rowans lab to recieve his Pokemon. He went accross the dark street. Stepping outside, Isokrates felt a strong wind. He saw gray clouds covering the stars and moon. He pulled out his cell phone and checked the time. 12:00 AM was the time shown. Good, I can sneak into Rowan's lab, Isokrates thought. He went through the window. But, the old, white haired professor discovered him. Crud, Isokrates thought, but Professor Rowan greeted Isokrates kindly. "Good, er, morning, young trainer. I assume you are here to retrieve your first Pokemon. What is your name, young man?" Rowan said. "Isokrates Theopatin. Now give me my Pokemon," the young boy said rudely. "Yes, sir." The scientist turned right and looked down at an assortment of Pokeballs. He selected the last in the row. "Here you are, Isokrates. This is a Gible," Rowan offered. "Good. Bye," Isokrates said, running out the door. "Wait!" Rowan commanded. Isokrates came to a stop and turned around. He walked forward. "What do you want?" Isokrates said with a tone of aggravation. "You need a Pokedex," Rowan explained, giving Isokrates the red electronic device, "and Pokeballs," he added, giving the annoyed teen his ball capsules.

As he sprinted out, Isokrates noticed a mysterious building. He went over to the building and tried to get in. Unfortunately it was locked...

    Chapter 1: The Start

Jade jumped out her hospital window and headed for the edge of town. Knowing this might be the last see would see her family she went stopped by her house to watch them through the window. After about 5 minute she headed for Twin leaf town which was south of where she lived. Jade ran as fast as her legs could take her and only made it to the forest on the other side of Jubilife City before she passed out against a tree.

When the sun came up she realized that she was almost to the lab. Jade got up and ran into Twinleaf Town and tried to hide in the forest so she could wash up at the sea south of the town and get ready to meet Professor Rowan. Jade took about 4 hours to get nice and clean and threw her bag on her back and headed into the town.

Jade walked by the Pokemart and the Pokemon Center which were sitting side by side in the northeast corner of the town and knew she was getting close. Jade saw a long building made of wood and thought it was the lab and headed for the front of it. She walked around and noticed the windows and door were boarded shut. Jade was disappointed that the lab was closed and started to head back to the forest when she looked up and saw a building that was taller and longer and looked as if people were coming out of it.

Jade's face perked up and she ran to the door in an excitement to get her pokemon. Jade entered the room and all she saw were books from wall to wall and people in lab coats running from one side of the building to the other. Jade was getting nervous and thought about back out and just accepting her fate. Suddenly a man with white hair walked up behind her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"You must be one of the young trainers here to pick up your pokemon?" The man said looking down at her smiling.

"Y-y-y-yes I am." Jade said shacking and putting her hand up to her mouth as she began to chew on her bottom lip.

"Don't be nervous my dear. This is a place where you can be worry free." The man said throwing his arms into the air and taking a deep breathe.

"O-okay." Jade said softly looking around the lab as it was a mess with books and papers scattered about.

"I have the perfect pokemon for you." The man said walking to the back of the lab and giving a little hand gesture to let Jade know to follow him. Jade kept looking up and down to ensure that she was not stepping on anything important and to be able to follow the man.

"Here it is." The man said pointing to a potted plant on his table.

"Isn't that just a plant sir?" Jade asked confused.

"No lass, this is a Bonsly."

"It looks sort of like a plant to me."

"Bonsly do look like that but believe me it is a great companion. Since you live I Floaroma Town I thought a tree like pokemon would suit you."

"Okay little guy we are now partners." Jade said smiling at the small pokemon. The Bonsly stood up and smiled back at its new trainer. "I will call you Oak since it is a type of tree."

"Now that you have your pokemon I am going to ask you to do task for me while on your journey." The man said turning around and grabbing a red electronic book. "This is a pokedex and I would like you to use it as you discover more pokemon. It would give you information about the pokemon and record it in your pokedex. When you complete it bring it back to me."

"Okay sir I will do it."

"Please call me Professor Rowan." The man said handing Jade the pokedex. "Now run along before it gets late."

"Thank you Professor Rowan." Jade said running out the front door and headed into the forest north of the town with her new Pokemon.

(OOC: Here we go! Let's start this show!)

Chapter 1: The Cursed Person! Meet Christopher Evans!

Chris sighed as he got off the ship. He had made it to Sinnoh successfully, and he was happy to be there. "Heh, this looks to be the beginning of something. Hopefully it's good, but... I doubt it." Said Chris as he looked around. The town was pretty small, only a few houses, a Pokemon Center, a Pokemon Mart, and a laboratory. "Hmm... this is the smallest town I ever saw."

"Hey, kid. Move out of the way!" Exclaimed a tourist, surprising Chris, before knocking him to the ground. "Damn kids, always so disrespectful to their elders." The tourist moved to go, when he was blocked by Chris.

"Hey, that's not a fair thing to say. There's space around me, just go around!" Exclaimed Chris, now pissed off. The tourist simply snorted before walking away. "Well, I'd better get going." Chris looked back at the tourist before walking away.

    (Tourist)

"Aurgh... that blasted kid! Talking like that to me! Drake Landis! I should have killed him right there!" Whispered the man to himself. "It doesn't matter though... I don't need to deal with him. Time to make my preparations."

    (Chris)

Chris looked around, somewhat nervous. Since he had calmed down, his nerves seemed to be going haywire, and he couldn't help but to think that someone was following him. "I'd better hurry to the laboratory before it gets dark. Every last second counts." Chris then began to run towards the laboratory.

Chris made it to the laboratory and opened the door to the lab. He saw Rowan standing in the middle of the room for no particular reason. "Umm... hello?"

"Ah, come in." Said Rowan, gesturing for Chris to come in. Said person came in and looked around, in case there was no one else in the room. "So, are you one of the trainers that came to pick up a pokemon?"

"Y-yeah." Said Chris, looking at Rowan. "I'm Christopher Evans, and I'm supposed to start my journey."

"Christopher Evans? Brother of the Suicide Champion?" Asked Rowan. Chris looked down, and Rowan sighed. "Sorry."

"It's okay." Said Chris, looking back up. "Just hand me what I need so I can get out of here." Rowan looked at Chris before nodding.

"Just give me a moment, I have it around here somewhere." Said Rowan as he walked to the table. There were a few pokeballs sitting there, each containing a starter pokemon. Rowan grabbed one before walking over to Chris. "In this pokeball is a pokemon known as Dratini. It is a Dragon type, of course, and I believe this is what you wanted."

"Yes, thank you." Said Chris as he took the pokeball. 'So, Fred... I'm going to be starting out the same as you. Let's hope the end result isn't the same.' This was his thoughts as he waited for Rowan to get the other things he needed.

"And here you go. A Pokedex and five pokeballs. Do you know how to use them?" Asked Rowan.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure." Said Christopher, opening the pokedex. He looked through it for a little bit before putting it in his pocket. The pokeballs, too, were put in one of his pockets, again for easy storage. "Thank you, Professor." Chris nodded his head before walking towards the door.

"Good luck, Chris. You're going to need it." Said Professor Rowan before turning away. "I've been getting a lot of new trainers today. More so then usual. I wonder what's going on."

    (Chris)

Chris took out his map, after seeing that no one was there, and looked at it. "Let's see... the next stop is Jubilife. The next route is pretty short, hopefully I can get through it in a good time." Said Chris before putting the map away. "Today will either be the start of a great journey, or it will lead me down the path to my own end. Either way, I'm going with all of the strength I can." Suddenly a door slammed shut, causing Chris to snap to attention. "I'd better go now." Chris then walked into the forested route in front of him.

(OOC: I know I should have allowed Chris to see Dratini, but I'm going to have him do that next time. Hope this was good, I fail at first posts.)

    Story of My Life

    "Woah, girl, we're here."

It hadn't been an easy trip. Veil was tired, and Tyson's crotch ached. It was a bumpy road from Rancho Ontiveiros to Twinleaf. Many logs and rocks had to be leapt over, and a number of small lakes had to be skipped through, all while the young man bounced against the Ponyta's bare back and rigid spine. It wasn't like Ty wasn't used to it, though; one could say he barely felt anything. In fact, despite the stiffness of the path they had to follow, it was always refreshing to smell the plethora of flowers, plants and Pokémon they saw on their way. The blue sky and the weather were very pleasing, too. For once, Ty had felt relaxed. I mean, if it wasn't for the fact that he had passed out for some unknown reason not so long ago, this could be labeled as a perfect day. It seemed like nothing else could go wrong. Nothing else should go wrong.

TwinLeaf was a small town. Not many people lived in it, and the buildings could probably be counted with two hands. Tyson liked this kind of spaces. They were warm and greeting; which tagged along perfectly with Ty's calmness. The lack of people rushing in and out of places and across streets really allowed you to listen and look around for the nature, thing Ty enjoyed doing thoroughly. The people that actually walked close to the male mounted in the equine Pokémon were even smiling at him, feeling Ty feel like he was in home.

"Good morning." A certain elderly man said as he walked by with his cane, about to finish his morning stroll.

Tyson looked down and smiled, returning the gesture and nodding.

    "Good morning, sir."

Tyson dismounted Veil, and they both walked to the middle of the town.

"Now where could Rowan's lab be…"

The question had an obvious answer. The laboratory was probably that enormous structure that was bigger than most of the houses in the town put together and that had a sign that said 'Professor Rowan's Laboratory'. Tyson laughed at his own stupidity.

The sight of the laboratory was overwhelming, to say the least. This was the place where dreams were born. Crushed too, maybe; but he'd rather not think about that. The grandeur and magnificence of the place were probably not the same in Ty's eyes as they were to the rest of the world. After all, it was just a big building made out of wood and automated sliding glass. But what it represented was unbelievable. Ty sighed as his eyes sparkled, then began a careful walk to the lab. He was pretty much just in time for his appointment, and that probably was because Veil had given her legs an extra push. Passing out was unplanned, after all. Many people around Ty's age were coming out of the lab, but none seemed to glance at each other. Veil was told to stay outside, and she did as instructed. She was faintly tired, so she walked over to a shadow and lied down.

    —"Hey, old man!"
    —"Huh? Oh, good morning Tyson!"

Ty walked in and moved closer to the insides of the lab, surprised at all the technology and machines that were found inside. The scientists seemed stressed as they sat in front of their machines, but they seemed to enjoy their job. Eventually, Tyson met up with Professor Rowan, and the two exchanged a tight hand shake before engaging in conversation. Truth was, Rowan and Tyson already knew each other. The renowned professor had been in contact with the Ontiveiros family for many years now. Whenever he had an egg that needed to be hatched or a young Pokémon that needed to be cared for or raised, Tyson's Ranch was his place of choice. It was even sometimes used as the stay for the Pokémon trainers deposited via PC. Rowan knew the whole family, and Ty wasn't the exception.

"I had been expecting you." Rowan said as he smiled at Tyson.
"I know professor, I was really looking towards this day." Ty said with a happy beam. He couldn't help but to straighten his brown hat and crack his fingers and knuckles out of anxiousness.

"I'm imagining you brought Veil with you." Rowan said as he headed over to a desk and grabbed a couple of devices which were put inside his lab coat before the other male could see them.

"That's right," Ty said with a nod, "I wasn't leavin' mah girl behind."

"You won't be needing any Pokémon then. You make my job easy." Rowan said with a laugh. "Take this, Tyson. It's a PokéDex and some PokéBalls, you'll be needing them for your adventure. The PokéDex registers data on Pokémon you will encounter on your adventure, and the PokéBalls are used to capture Pokémon. It's not like you don't know, though… Actually, Tyson, what is your goal?"

Tyson received the objects with a wide grin, feeling powerful as he placed them in his own belt and pockets. There was no turning back now; he was set to do something and he was not giving up. It was like these pieces of machinery were the key to the door of life. It was actually a literal thing, but Tyson didn't know. Snapping back to reality, he looked inside his mind to find out what to answer Rowan's question with. Now that he thought about it, he didn't really have a goal or something. He just… Wanted an adventure.

"Wow, professor… That… That is a good question, actually." Tyson said with a shy laugh. "I actually… Just want something to entertain myself with, you know? You know I'll take on the family business, so I think it's time for an adventure. I'm also sure I'll see more Pokémon now than I ever will do at the Ranch. Preparation on the outdoors for my future and all. And who knows, I might even get to be the Pokémon League Champion!"

Tyson stuttered when talking, but he let out a quiet laugh and a playful fist bump as he finished his last remark. It probably wasn't the best answer to give, but he was being honest.

—"That's a sincere answer, I can tell. It's a tough world, though; remember that, Ty. I've been receiving a lot of young trainers today, all hoping for the same thing. Just… Always remember to be yourself, and stay safe. Love for one self and others is more important than any title or victory."

—"What are you some sort of motivational speaker now, old man?"

    —"I'm just trying to help."
—"I know, prof., I was foolin' around. I really appreciate your advice, and dun' ya worry; I'll take care out there. Thanks for everythin', won't let ya down."

With a gesture of farewell, the two men said goodbye to each other, and without further do he walked out. Veil, who was loyally waiting for him outside, stood up as soon as he was in sight, and Tyson told Veil about what had happened inside. Deciding to rest for a bit before actually doing anything, the two walked back to the middle of the town. There, there was a large sign, one that read the name of the town and directions and all of that stuff. Tyson sat on the sign, his legs blocking everything that the sign said, and pulled out his ocarina from his pocket. Taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, he began playing a soft, beautiful tune that deluged the whole tone, terminating the silence and echoing sonorously. Veil, which was often lullabied by Tyson's music, lied down again and waited for her trainer to give instructions to part.

((Listo :D Mmm, didn't achieve much, I guess; but I'll just hang around 'till there's an occurrence of interest xD And I know,
if Miranda was here it would be so very awesome D: I really do miss her.))

Kim looked at her toes as the bus she was on continued to drive it's way to Twinleaf Town. The girl looked around herself, trying to be sneaky about it but failing, if anyone had even been paying any attention to her in the first place anyways. Still, Kim had been on edge since leaving the hospital in Sunny Shore and hopping on the first bus she could find. Not only because she was afraid of being caught and seeing her heart broken parents again, but also because she was by herself...with strangers...

Kim shook her head and did the breathing exercise her therapist told her to do when she was panicking. It took a while and got more then a few people on the bus to look at her, the exercise did work and she found herself calm...for now. Kim could only hope that a Pokemon would take this unreasonable fear away. Or maybe it wasn't unreasonable...but there no evidence to say that it wasn't.

Finally, the bus rolled to a stop and the driver announced that they had finally reached Twinleaf Town. Kim was quick to exit the bus and take a step onto the dark streets of the town. Now, one would probably never find anything sinister about the streets of a small town, no matter what time of the day it was. Of course, Kim wasn't like most other people. After doing the exercise once more, and once again hoping this would change when she got her own Pokemon, and headed to the lab.

Luckily for the girl, she burst into the lab just when she thought that the panic was going to take over her. This startled the Sinnoh Pokemon Professor, but he quickly went back to being the impassive man he usually was.

"Ah, I take it that you are one of the new trainers who are getting their first Pokemon?" Rowan asked, though Kim could only nod as she once again did the breathing. "Very well, may I have you're name then?"

"Kim…Clare…McDonald…" Kim said in between her breathing.

Rowan nodded. "Ah yes, Kim. Lets see…" he turned to the Pokeballs behind him and seemed to look at them with a critical eye. Finally, he picked on up and gave it to the now calming down girl. "Here, I believe that this Pokemon is the best for you."

Kim looked up at Rowan before taking the ball into her own hand. She looked at it for a bit before opening it. In a bright flash of light, a small, fox-like Pokemon with brown fur and a white mane appeared. She slowly opened her large, black eyes and looked around herself. She then looked up at the girl in front of her and tilted her head.

    "Eev?" The Eevee asked.

Kim nearly gasped at the Pokemon she got, barely believing her luck. The girl let loose a wide smile and picked the Eevee up, hugging the fox against her. "Alright! Thank you so much Prof. Rowan! You have no idea how much I live these Pokemon," Kim said happily.

"Eevee!" The Evolution Pokemon said, nuzzling her new trainer back.

"Well, I'm glad you like her," Rowan said, smiling. "Now here is your Pokedex and five Pokeballs." When Kim took the balls and 'dex, he continued, "Now, do you want to nickname your starter?"

"Yes, I do," Kim said, holding the Eevee high into the air. "I'm going to call her, Clara!"

"Eevee!" The now named Clara said happily, liking the name.

"Very well, then I wish you all the luck with your Pokemon Journey," Rowan said. "May it go well."

"And quickly…" Kim muttered to herself, know that she had very little time on her hands. She then said good bye to the Professor and quickly made her way out the door. She wanted to get this journey done and over with so that she could get that cure and go back to her old life!

Chapter 1: Enter the overactive skitty girl!

Avalbane wandered from the woods slowly towards the lab. she was tired and covered in dirt and scratches. She had
wandered a long way from home, about two days of walking. She wished now she had chosen to stay at the hospital
because of its closeness to the lab, rather then spend her last months at home dieing in a familiar setting then surrounded by uncaring people just wanting payment for helping the sick.

She sighed and leaned against a tree to catch her breath and pulled the last cookie she had from her backpack. "I..really should have... thought this out better.." She muttered to herself between bites. "Too late now though, I might as well ask for something to eat and drink while at the lab." She dusted herself off and walked across the grass towards Twinleaf town.

The combee were buzzing and the blossom were singing, so Avalbane couldent help but smile to herself. The day was perfect, expecially when one is starting a new life for themselves, however short it may be. Avalbane shook the thought from her head and puffed her cheeks out like a stubborn child. "Damn it Avalbane! No negatives now! You have a pokemon to get!" She crossed her arms and nodded once to herself before walking towards the large wooden lab. Inside the lab was a aged man who stood staring at her quite curiously. Surely this was Proffeser Rowan., the man who would give her the pokemon she needed.

Rowan looked over at the young, dirty girl with one fuzzy white brow raised. "Well you certainly seem to have had a
journey," He stated to her in a somewhat curious tone. "Here for a pokemon?"

Avalbane bowed slightly."Yes Sir, and if it isn't too much trouble... May I have something to drink? I forgot to pack any
drinks so..." She trailed off suggestively.

Rowan simply laughed kindheartedly. "Of course dear, of course. Just wait right here. " He walked off for a few moments before returning with a tall cup of water which Avalbane quickly grabbed from him. "My you WERE thirsty! " Rowan chuckled as the girl finished the glass in a few seconds. "Well you can't travel like that, so I will give you a few spare bottles of water for the journey as well as the pokemon and supplies." He nodded to himself and turned to grab a pokedex and pokeballs.

"Now you need to choose a pa-" But before He could finish saying 'partner' Avalbane squeeled and pointed. "That one! "

Rowan looked over to see the sleeping shinx that the girl was pointing at. "Well, I really wasn't going to give her to any
trainers, but you seem to have been through a lot. Very well, she's yours now." He smiled and handed her the shinx's pokeball.

Avalbane squeeled in delight and hugged the small feline who stared at her with a "Who is this person and why is she so hyper?" face. With pokeballs and pokemon in her posession, she ran off yelling a thank-you to the old professor who waved with a sweatdrop trailing down his head before realizing. "Oh dear..she's forgotten the water.."

Avalbane stopped walking suddenly, facing the old broken-down looking building. " Well this is odd...Why's this place give me such a weird vibe?" She cocked her head to the side like a small confused child. "Doesn't matter now. More important things to do and we have ass to kick, right Fulgora? " She winked at the shinx who stared up at her." I'm naming you after a lightning goddess! " She giggled before walking from the building, Fulgora at her heals. "Well Fulgora, today, we stop this
brain rotting disease once and for all, or die trying! "

    Tatarigoroshi-hen Sono Ichi - Hajimari
Curse Killing Chapter One - The Beginning

Don't think. Just run. Run away from that place. Never turn back. Oh Arceus, don't let me return to that horrid place! They don't believe someone like me can live, so they just wait for my life to end. Everyone believes I'll die in the end. They're all in this together, they all wish to see me die without trying. I'll show them. I'll show them all what I can do. The words rushed through the exhausted girl's mind frantically as she ran at top speed away from the hospital she was expected to die in. Deadly disease or not, she wanted to start a journey of her own and see the rest of Sinnoh, not just live in Jubilife for the remainder of her time. Unfortunately, even though it was just a bit after midnight, the crowds were rather hectic and all going in the opposite direction the girl was going, so it was hard for her to push through them. Where was it that they all had to go at this hour? Why weren't they there already? And when she had finally gotten into a calmer area, she heard the large TV hanging from the Jubilife TV Studio, loud as it ever could be.

"Goooooooooood evening, Pokemon fans! Or, should I say, goooooooood morning! As you can tell, it is now half past midnight, so here are the lucky numbers for the midnight lottery!" the announcer boomed. Of course, there was no need to stay around any longer, and it seemed rather odd that all these citizens couldn't stay home to watch this on their own TV, so the girl just sped away from the crowds, and ran straight for the route that connected Jubilife and Sandgem.

I'm there. Finally. No more gruesome city life for me. I'll have to go back, I know I will, but things will be different. I'll have a Pokemon with me. I'll be able to protect myself. Nobody can stop me. I'm gonna be all right. The girl's pace slowed to just a casual walk, and she headed straight towards the small town that hardly anyone knew existed. Though then again, it was more well-known than the town even further down the road, the one known as "Twinleaf". While it may be on the way to Lake Verity, the town itself was hardly visited. That was the place the girl wished she could live in. But noooo, my parents INSISTED on going from a nice, peaceful atmosphere to a more bustling one. Perhaps that could be why I ended up in the hospital. With all that pollution, I'm surprised anyone still lives there at all. Her thoughts put aside, the girl entered Sandgem, and headed straight for the Pokemon lab, where she was SURE the Professor would be at.

Then it hit her. It's past midnight. What loon (with the exception of those money-loving crowds back in Jubilife) would be up at this hour? There was always the typical Pokemon Center nurse, and because she was a bit on the tired side, the girl felt that it'd be best to sleep until morning. She walked back in the direction she came from, and entered the fully lit building.

"Good heavens, miss, why might you be up at this hour?" the nurse asked the girl. Sighing, she replied in a somewhat tired voice.

"I'm on a journey. Thus, I'm tired and I need to rest," came the reply.

    "OK. Your name, miss?"

"Ariel Ursula Robert-Aera. But you can just put me down as 'Aura'."

"All right, then, Miss Aura. Please follow me to your room." The girl did as she was told, and ended up in a place that reminded her of the hospital. Well, it is a hospital for Pokemon, sort of, she told herself. The nurse then left her with what looked like a gown doctors would usually wear, and so Aura took the hint that she was to change into it. She did so, and lay her clothes on the nightstand that was next to her bed. She calmly laid herself down and closed her eyes, waiting for daylight to shine through.

    ---

At around 8 AM, Aura was up and out the door, not bothering to take advantage of the Pokemon Center's free breakfast. She headed for the lab once again, and knocked on the doors. No response came from inside, so she knocked again. Still no response. This went on for a few minutes, until finally one of the assistants opened up.

"May I help you?" he asked in a weary voice, indicating he had just gotten up.

"Is the Professor around?" Aura asked in a curious tone.

"Unfortunately, he went out to Twinleaf today. Something about giving Pokemon to some young trainers."

"Why can't he give them here?"

"I dunno. The Professor's actions can be rather...questionable at times." That said, the assistant shut the door in Aura's face. A few moments later, the faint sound of snoring could be heard. Geez, how can he sleep at this hour? A bit perturbed, she looked out at the route connecting Sandgem and Twinleaf. It wasn't too far a walk, but quite frankly, Aura would've preferred getting her Pokemon here. Nonetheless, she began heading towards the small, almost forgotten town, where the Professor would surely be.

Twinleaf Town was rather deserted, just as Aura had expected. With the exception of a few housewives getting the laundry hung up to dry, there really weren't many people around. There were only a few houses, but the one that caught Aura's attention was one that was boarded in. Huh, wonder if he's in there? She walked towards the house's closest window. Rats, doesn't seem to have a small opening I can peek through.

"And what do you think YOU'RE doing, missy?" a voice boomed from behind. Startled, Aura spun a complete 180 and made her infamous karate pose (which she had learned to do through TV). She dropped the pose when she realized it was just an old geezer in a lab coat. Wait... This couldn't be...

    "Professor Rowan?"

"Yes, now what do you want?"

"WHY THE HECK WEREN'T YOU IN YOUR LAB?! I DIDN'T WANT TO WALK HERE, YOU KNOW!"

"DON'T YOU YELL AT ME, MISSY! WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS?" This comment caused Aura to clam up. The Professor's voice got a bit calmer. "Where are your parents?"

"They're...far from here. I came to pick up a Pokemon." Aura flashed the letter in the Professor's face, then whipped it back into her bag.

"I...see. Well, then, Ariel, what Pokemon are you interested in?"

"One that isn't too shy, but one that isn't too aggressive. Oh, and it has to be female." The last sentence was emphasized, as Aura had always preferred female Pokemon over male ones. "And by the way, it's Aura, not Ariel." Rowan ignored her second statement.

    "Any other preferences?"

"Um... One that's not a typical choice for someone starting out! From what I've heard, the typical choices seem to be Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric types!"

"Ah, I see. Well, then, I think I know JUST the Pokemon for you!" The Professor pulled out an ordinary Poke Ball, pressed the button in the middle, and out came a small egg-like Pokemon.

"Toge toge?" the creature asked curiously. It looked at Aura, and then ran up to her and jumped into her arms. As cute as it was, Aura really couldn't take something innocent like this. You never know, Pokemon could soon catch our disease. This little guy's too good for that.

"I'm sorry, Professor," she said, handing back the Togepi, "but I just can't take him. I don't want to expose him to the evils of the world just yet. Is there another Pokemon I can have?" The Professor recalled the small Pokemon and began to think.

"Ah, I believe there is one more that might work." He pulled out another ordinary Poke Ball, and opened it up. A beautiful Ghost Pokemon, one that Aura knew could be found in both Johto and Sinnoh, appeared. It looked at its surroundings with a mischievous expression on its face, and as soon as it spotted the boarded up house, flew straight towards it. As soon as its body made contact with it, it went through the walls and into the building.

"...I think I'll take it. What gender is it, by the way?"

"Female. And you DO know what it's called, right?"

"Yeah, Misdreavus. BUT, I think I'll call her Fia. A lovely name, don't you think? Now, I guess I should go retrieve her. May I have her Poke Ball?" Rowan handed Aura the Poke Ball, and she headed straight towards the building. Hmm, those boards over there don't look like they're in the best shape. Wonder what'll happen if I knock 'em down? She gave the boards a good, hard kick, and sure enough, they cracked in two. Light from the sun illuminated the darkness of the building, and the Misdreavus peered out to see why it had suddenly grown so bright. She tilted her head, and Aura smiled.

"You'll be Fia, OK? And you're my new companion!" The Misdreavus bobbed up and down to acknowledge this statement, and went back to looking inside. Ya think there's anything decent in here? I have the time, not like I need to head back to that polluted dump anytime soon. Aura climbed through the window and looked around. It was rather dusty inside, so the chances of finding something seemed slim. Just then, Fia turned her attention to something sparkling in the ground. Aura walked up to where the sparkling thing was, and picked it up.

"A necklace of some sort? It's rather pretty..." she commented. "I suppose this would look nice on me..." She placed it in her bag for the time being, and continued searching for other stuff.

After a half hour or so of searching, Aura and Fia managed to find just a few berries. They must've fallen off of their respective trees and were carried here by the wind. How bizarre...

[OOC: Before anyone says anything, yes, the chapter title is based off of Higurashi's titles ("Tatarigoroshi-hen" being the main one; the second part ("Hajimari") being the title of the first episode of the Onikakusha-hen (sp?) arc, the first arc in the Higurashi anime/manga). Also, I went with Rowan being in Twinleaf, even though I'm fairly sure his lab is in Sandgem. Oh well, he must have some reason for being in Twinleaf XD

Finally, hopefully you don't mind Aura pilfering some stuff from the abandoned house. If there really is someone living there, they're probably gone, though I'd have to edit my post to make it sound more like a place someone is residing in.]

    Chapter 1: The military girl

Tsubaki sighed and looked down at the flowing water of the sea. Different types of water pokemon including the occasional milotic swam next to the ship enjoying the sun's rays. Tsubaki's thoughts were elsewhere though. She had just been recently diagnosed with a syndrome that kills anyone who has it.

"6 months, huh....." Tsubaki sighed again and looked down at the ocean. "But I've got to get the cure...no matter what." Tsubaki muttered to herself. Her thoughts were shattered when she heard the captain yell.

"Now arriving in Twinleaf town any and all passengers for Twinleaf town must get off at the next port!"

That was her stop and she gave another sigh and puffed out her chest. This was it she had to be strong! That's what she taught! Soldiers face awful things each day in war this was nothing! She mentally prepared herself and grabbed her bag, saluted to the man who was pointing which way the passengers had to go and stepped onto the fresh grass of Twinleaf Town.

"The air smells...weird here.." Tsubaki commented. Being from Canalve city she wasn't used to non-smoggy or air that hadn't smelt like sea salt. She also wasn't used to grass in town either so feeling grass on her feet while walking to the lab felt especially weird to her.

Several Starly tweeted in a few distant trees and a few bidoof hid in the bushes looking for any morsels of scrap they could find. She took a step forward in to the strange mysterious town. This was it, it started here. The journey that would either kill her or save her.. This was her only chance. She continued walking around the town looking for any sign of the proffeser but to no avail. The only thing she found was a boy being pushed down by a rude man who CLEARLY did it on purpose, but he was gone by the time she was there to go help him up.

Finally, after some effort she found the lab and looked at several kids who had already gotten their pokemon. What if she had come to late? Would she not be able to get the pokemon that coud possibly save her life? She mustered all her effort and went in.

    "Name please?" The receptionist asked.

"Tsubaki Noir, Ma'am." Tsubaki told the women who was clearly to old to be working here.

"Ah your part of the Noir family? Your family history has a ong line of soldiers. Never , once , have I seen a Noir come here looking for a Pokemon. What makes you different then the rest of your family?" Tsubaki looked to see if the women was sneering at her but she had a face that was questioning her.

    "Um, stuff happened..." Tsubaki replied.

"I see , well your names on the list go ahead in. oh and if the Proffeser looks scary don't mind him, he's actually got quite a good heart." She smiled at Tsubaki and returned to typing.

She sucked in a gulp of air and walked in as straight as can be and looked around the lab. It was strangely....homely. I mean sure the gadgets in the lab stood out a little bit, but other then that....it looks completely homey.

"Ah, you must be Tsubaki!" A voice came behind her and Tsubaki quickly turned and went into a battle stance, "Ah, it's no surprise your family would know defensive techniques. Anyway, now choose your partner."

"Hmm..." Tsubaki stopped to think for a moment..then it dawned on her..What if he had a dragon pokemon?! "Sir, do you have a dragon pokemon?!" She exclaimed and faced him. A twinkle of hope shining in her eyes.

"Well...The only ones I have have been taken..The only one that's left is this bagon..and it doesn't seem to be very good around trainers..She isn't stubborn she's just a little shy.." Rown told her but the only thing that went through Tsubaki's ears was the word "Bagon"

"Sir, I will take the bagon!" She smiled when Rowan placed the pokeball in her hand.

"I also want you to fill up this pokedex with lots of interesting things. Here's 5 pokeballs so you can catch Pokemon with."

"Yes, Sir!" She then ran out and looked at the sky. " Today I start...I will not die! So I swear!" She yelled.

    --------------------

    Tsubaki obtained :
    Lvl. 5 Bagon

Chapter 1: Where Bobby accepts his fate and chooses to do something about it.

"Caw, caw!" The Wingull cried. Its voice came in through the open window, which also brought in the smell of the sea, the sounds of the city, and the light of the sun. It was like the world was mocking the boy who was lying in the hospital bed. "Yeah, screw this." he said. The boy climbed out of bed and grabbed the pile of clothes that was lying next to his bed as well as the gray pack that was there. Looking out the window, the boy jumped down to the ground and set off at a brisk pace.

With a sad sigh, the boy looked up the golden sun in the sapphire sky and said "6 months.....huh." You see, this boy's name is Bobby and he has been dignosed with Mutuwar Hauka Syndrome. It is a deadly virus that is also known as the Brain Rotting Virus. The victim has only 6 months to live.

Bobby looked down at the postcard he had gotten. It said Congratulations, you've finally come of age to get your first Pokémon, why don't you go see Professor Rowan to get it? Your sure to have an exciting adventure!

When Bobby had first recieved it he was excited! He was going to be the best damn trainer the world had ever seen! Right after that though he had the feeling of getting weaker and weaker with his breathing getting heaver and heaver. Suddenly he had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where Bobby had been diagnosed with Mutuwar Hauka Syndrome. He had givin up on all hope, chased away most of his friends and family when he had heard something intresting. It seems that the Elite Four has discovered a cure of the disease. So now Bobby has 6 months to get to the Elite Four.

"No problem." Bobby said with a smirk. He continued to walk down the dirt brown road until he came apon Twinleaf Town. Smaller than Sandgem Town, it had a serene feeling with all the leafy trees around it. Quickly locating the lab of Prof. Rowen, Bobby walked inside.

"Hello?" Bobby called out uncertainly. It was rather dark in there and Bobby was feeling slighty creeped out.

"Can I help you young man?" a stern voice said from behind Bobby. Bobby gave a yelp of fright. He turned around and saw a rather tall man with a bristling moustache. "Well?" the man said again.

"Oh! Um...my name is Bobby Baker and I got this postcard that said I'm old enough to become a Trainer?"

"I see. Well your timing couldn't be better!" the man said with a twinkle in his eye. "You see I am Rowan and I've just caught a wonderful new Pokemon for you!" Rowan said excitedly as he opened his briefcase and took out a red and white Pokeball. "Here is your Partner Pokemon as well as a Pokedex." Rowan handed Bobby the ball as well as a red box. "It holds many useful information on the Pokemon you'll come across. Here take some Pokeballs as well." Rowan gave some empty balls to Bobby. Then he started edging him towards the door. "If thats all, have a good day!"

"But wait-!" Bobby began when he got outside, but Rowan slammed the door in his face. Sighing, Bobby muttered "Well lets see what you are..." He released the Pokemon with in the ball and out came a yellow mouse with a blue back and four red spots on his back. "Now what are you?" Bobby muttered as he reached down to pet it.

"Cynda!" the Pokemon cried as it stretched. Flames erupted out of the round spots on its back.

"Ah!" Bobby cried out in surprise as he landed on his butt. He opened his Pokedex which said in a mechanical voice "Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokemon. It has a timid nature. If it is startled, the flames on its back burn more vigorously"

"Timid huh?" Bobby said skeptical as the Cyndaquil in question was busy sniffing his shoe. "Well come on Cyndaquil!" Bobby said as he picked his partner up. Cyndaquil quickly raced to sit on Bobby's shoulder, who didn't dissaprove but wondered why a recently caught Pokemon would be so friendly. "Whatever!" Bobby said quietly but happily as he began to walk away from Rowans lab.

    Chapter One; Silent Beginnings.
Sleep, child, sleep. Let the waves of the night carry you to your destination.

The golden sun peaked upon the horizon, bringing a new day to Sandgem town. The light shone through the trees, reaching the ground, invigorating it with warmth and life. A gentle breeze flowed through the area, awakening the Pokemon in the area. The trees wafted in the breeze, swaying ever so slightly as the morning mist rolls in. The Starlys began to sing aloud, the Kricketots chirped to the morning dawn, even the Bidoofs seemed cheerful this morning.

    Everyone except Simon.

In the last day, his world had changed. The morning before, he had found out the disease he carried. The doctor had told him. Mutuwar Hauka, or Brain Rotting Syndrome. The name alone disgusted him. Mutism alone was a burden, but this just took the cake. It infuriated him. Why had this happened to him? He'd never done anything wrong? Stewing in a pool of self pity and anger, he barely noticed the breakfast his parents had left him. They always left some before they went to work. The toast was still luke-warm, covered in a layer of Peanut Butter and Jam. He smiled at how well his parents knew him. It would be hard to leave them.

Crunching down on his toast, he clicked the button on his Pokeball. Emerging from a blast of red light, Spyro shot from the ball. It whizzed around the room, before hovering next to Simon, nuzzling his shoulder. Scrawling a quick note and ripping it off, he placed it upon empty plate. He had already told his parents he was leaving, and he didn't want another reason for his mother to cry. Briskly getting dressed, he prepared for the day.

    ----

It was a brisk jog to Twinleaf town. The distance wasn't far, but Simon was still puffed.
'You really need to get fit' Spyro piped up, telepathically. Simon just shot him an angry look. He entered the small town, scanning the area. His eyes were instantly drawn to musician in the center of the town.

'You can check out the sights later, we need to go see Rowan', Spyro spoke/thought. Simon sighed, before walking over towards the lab. Knocking of the door, he entered quietly. The lab seemed to be populated by Rowan and his two assistants. The older professor turned around, smiling broadly. Simon greeted him with a brief wave, and Spyro hovered up beside him. The professor saw the Beldum, and began to gesture with his hands fast. Simon grinned, and pulled out his notepad, and began scrawling onto quickly a piece of paper. Spyro grabbed it and sped towards the Prof, as Simon walked towards him. Dropping the small note in front of Rowan, the Beldum sped back to it's trainer.

Rowan picked up the note, and read it aloud:

"Firstly, I don't speak sign language, and secondly, I'm mute not deaf." Rowan smirked. "Alright then. Simon, is it?" Simon nodded. "We've had a Pokedex put aside for you for a few years now, it was your sister's idea. She assumed you'd follow in the footsteps of the rest of your family. Here", Rowan removed a Pokedex and five Pokeballs from a glass case behind him, and handed them to Simon. "Take these, I'm assuming you know what they do already", Simon nodded again, "and do what you can before the time comes. Do your best Simon, I hope to see you again sometime in the distant future", Rowan said, his grandfather-like words sticking to Simon. He nodded and bowed in thanks, before turning and exiting the lab, followed closely by his steel Pokemon.

'Well, Simon, now what should we do? It's your call', the voice of Spyro penetrating his mind. Simon walked towards the music, quizzically looking at the instrument. There was a brief pause in the music as Simon got closer, so he waved at the teen.

Missouri knew that the professor's lab was in Twinleaf Town and she knew that Twinleaf town was situated in the Sinnoh region. In her head she had imprinted the full map of the region where she was born and raised. So then why was it that she kept getting the wrong turns? From night 'till morning she kept walking. She didn't feel the cold or the tiredness, at least in her mind. As long as she focused there was nothing that could stop her. She ocassionally stopped to ask directions but for the rest she kept walking.

The sun was shining faintly over the vivid landscape of Floaroma Town. The dew sparkling on the flower petals was a sight to behold but Missouri didn't bother looking. As she was past Floaroma Town she stopped to ask a friendly looking Bug Catcher what time it was and how long it'd take untill she would reach Twinleaf Town. Apparently it was 10 AM and it'd take her another two hours to reach her destination. She was a little late on her planned time scheme due to some wrong routes but she would still make it before a planned lunchbreak. Missouri started dashing off and wouldn't back down untill the professor's lab was in sight.

When she finally reached the town she had sit down and rest, she could pretend she didn't feel anything for as long as she wanted but she had to admit that the lack of sleep was taking its toll on her. Panting and breathing heavily Missouri looked around the town, it wasn't anything impressive. A few houses here and there, a PokeCenter and PokeMart, and of course the lab. In a corner of the town stood, a little secluded, an odd looking house. It had a sort of dark presence about it that she couldn't really explain. It'd probably be a good idea to stay away from it.

After regaining some of her vitality Missouri stood up and headed for the lab. It was a large building, especially in contrast with the little houses surrounding it. She walked in and noticed that it looked a lot less intimidating from the inside. Lots of books were piled on desks that had high-tech computers on it. Behind a few of the desks scientist were working, she didn't even try figuring out what they were doing but it sure looked complicated. She noticed a few Pokemon were also being examined and some were roaming the lab. Amongst them was also a Houndour, she smiled tenderly upon the sight of it. As she was still watching the Houndour professor Rowan caught her by surprise saying: "Are you here to start your journey?"

"Huh? Oh, uh, yes, I am. My name is Missouri Wright. Pleased to meet you!" Missouri tried sounding happy but judging from the look of the professor it wasn't going very well.

"Hmm, now where have I left that Pokeball?" The professor mumbled to himself.

"Wait! If you don't mind Professor would it be okay if I could have that Houndour as my partner? You see, I have always admired them and-"

"Hmm, are you sure? This Houndour has been quite troublesome. But if you insist. She's been very picky and if she doesn't like you I don't think it's very good idea to take her with you."

    "No problem!"

Missouri headed over towards the fire pokemon and petted her head softly. The Houndour let out a happy bark and licked her hand. The professor was in a flash of awe but quickly adjusted himself.

"I see then. Here, this is a Pokedex and these are your Pokeballs. May you be succesful in your journey!"

After quickly waving Professor Rowan goodbye Missouri exited the lab and looked at the pokemon wandering beside her. She kneeled next to it and said: "How would you like Skia for a name?"

The Houndour tilted it's head slightly but then barked excitedly.

    "Skia it is then!"

Okay, Jasper admitted it, jumping out of a window might not be the best thing to do in the situation, especially not with a deadly defective disease running through your system. Or more like a birth defect or something, one of those things that ran in your family? He hadn't really understood when the doctors were telling him all this medical mumbo-jumbo.

Bottom-line: He was going to die in 6 months.
Objective: Get to the Pokémon league and get the medicine.
Time to do so: 6 Months.

That didn't look too promising. But Jasper wasn't Jasper without at least trying. He was running now, barefoot through the dirty ground all the way from Jubilife City to Twinleaf. Strange thing: he felt great, absolutely great. Like he could conquer the world!

Jasper had jumped out of the window from the Hospital, which was 3 stories up. He'd slid down the drain pipe in-between windows praying that no one would look out one, in some scrubs he had found, all the way down to the floor. Then he had ran into a big clothing store, stolen a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, hopped on the train to Floarama, ran home, grabbed his bag that had been ready to go, put on his own clothes and dashed out to take the train back to Sandgem. From there on he had run through the route like a crazed psycho to Twinleaf, without shoes for they were giving him blisters.

    And he still felt great.

Jasper was panting by the time he got the Laboratory. Just before coming in he put on his trainers, wincing as they brushed the blisters on the back of his foot and proceeded to enter the building. He was still panting, and one of the assistants looked at him curiously, but he didn't care. "P-Professor?" He said with difficulty, lungs still screaming for oxygen and BPM way up there.

The man turned around with a warm smile. "Hello there young man, you look like you've had a rough journey."

"More like a rough week," commented Jasper, but he was smiling as he did so. "Sir, I'm here for m-my Pokémon. I-I got the letter."

"Ah, you sure are, aren't you. Hm, let's see," he rummaged through some Pokéball that were stored in a walk-in storage room. "Perfect, she should do!" He turned toward Jasper again, still smiling kindly while Jasper had proceeded to put his hands on his knees and try to get his breathing under control.

Once it was, more or less, under control, Jasper straightened out again, forcing to smile at the Professor once more. "Thank you," as he took the PokéBall. "Well, I'll be off then?" He asked uncertainly.

"Not so fast young man! I still need to make you a trainer card, I'll need your name for that."

"Jasper, sir. Jasper Jeremiah Lair." The Professor entered the info in the computer. He typed in something and suddenly a screen came up mirroring Jasper. The Professor explained it was a camera and Jasper let the thing take a picture of him.

The he turned back to Jasper. "Minty or Cobalt?" He asked, and Jasper told him he preferred Minty. Then a few seconds later a brand new shiny card spewed out of the machine. It was, in fact, a light minty card with a picture, his name and trainer code and handed it to him. "There you go, and here's a Pokédex. There. now you're all set to go out and have fun! I suppose I shall see you soon, and hopfully next year for some evaluating?"

    "Yeah," Jasper mumbled. "Next year."

I hadn't yet finished yet. I was going to extend the post and make it longer. Sorry, anyways... Now, Chapter 2...
(And please don't call me hon)

After retrieving his Pokemon, Isokrates had only one thing on his mind: the Pokemon league. He wanted to get there in a short time. He figured he could do it with his swiftness on the athletic field and his rebel sucess. Well, boy, he was in for some huge surprises along his journey. So, off he sprinted toward victory.

    Route 1-12:15 PM

What does Isokrates see as he first looked at the Route? A lot of green grass, glistening because of the moonlight. He also saw many trees, dark and mysterious. Starly flew in the cold sky. I should nab one of these chicks. I'll definetely need one to win the league, he said. So, Isokrates pulled out his cellphone, which was a black tracfone. He turned it on, pressed a few buttons, and played a really loud ringtone to get one of the Starly out of the sky. It worked. A black and white bird flew out of the sky. It aimed right for Isokrates' face. I like this guy! Isokrates' mind chimed in delight. Isokrates did not move out of the way in time, and got hit right in the nose. Great, a disease and a bloody nose. Two bad events in one night, Isokrates thought. "All right, kid, let's battle," he said to the small, fierce creature. The fracas started when Isokrates called out, "Go, GIble," in a deep voice. A white flash transformed into a light blue, open mouthed, calm Gible. "Gible, tackle," said Isokrates. The small dragon launched forward at Starly. Starly went into the air, out of the way. Gible tried to stop his rush, and did not scucceed. Much harm was caused to Gible when he ran into the tree. "Shake it off! Go again. Hard!" Isokrates yelled. Gible went even swifter. But, Gible was forced back by a Tackle. "Come on, Gible! Sand Attack! Go!" he said. Gible fired a lot of sand at Starly. For once, Gible didn't miss. Starly got confused in the fog. Its vision was blurred. "This is your chance, Gible! Tackle!" Isokrates commanded. Gible went really fast, and knocked down Starly with a massive tackle. Starly was weakened, but would not give up. It still had a fierce look on it's face. "Star-ly!" it called. "DO WHAT YOU JUST DID AGAIN!" Gible did another sand attack and went full force with tackle. Starly was weakening. Yes! I've got him! Isokrates thought as he grabbed his Pokeball. "Go, Pokeball," Isokrates yelled. The Pokeball landed on the ground, shook around a bit, and...

Chapter 2: This kitten has claws.

Avalbane twirled down the path happily, Fulgora following behind with a "Why does my trainer have to be so perky?" face. The blond girl suddenly stopped, a loud growling filled the air. Fulgora hissed and looked at her trainer, slightly confused as to what the sound was. Avalbane simply turned to face Fulgora with a strange face. " So...hungry.."

Fulgora let out a small sigh and sniffed around. the shinx couldn't deny the fact she was also hungry. " We may as well find some plants or berries to eat! " Avalbane grinned and helped the small blue feline to search the area. It wasn't long until they had a small pile of berries, mushrooms, and other plants. "Good thing I went to camp as a kid right Fulgora?" She grinned to the shinx, who was already munching an oran berry.

The shinx and her trainer were laying in the grass relaxing after their meal when a loud cry of "STAAAAARLEY!!!!" broke the silence of the afternoon. Avalbane sat up so quickly that Fulgora jumped up, hissing in surprise.
"A Starley..This means we can have our first challenge as partners Fulgora! Let's try and catch it!" The shinx let out a small grumbling noise and let its star tipped tail sway. The golden haired trainer pulled on a pair of black leather, fingerless gloves and smirked. "Showtime."

A small grey and black starley sat pecking at the ground for a few seeds or insects to eat when the sudden yell of "Tackle! " caused it to lift its head just in time to see a black and blue form charging towards it.

"STAAARLEY!! " It flapped its wings frantically to get out of the way, but Fulgoras pounce was faster and the small bird went down. Fulgora leapt back, a stern look on its cute kitty face when the starly got itself back up and prepared to counter attack. The starly flew at the small shinx in its own tackle attack, a look of pure anger in its eyes.

" Fulgora! Dodge it and use leer! " Avalbane shouted and the small shinx leapt to the side before the starly made contact. Fulgoras eyes glowed a faint red as it glared at the starly who shuddered nervously. The starly let out a loud
"STAAAAAR!" and the shinx shook its head to try and break the effects of the birds growl attack. " Okay Fulgora! Tackle and pin it down! " The shinx nodded once and ran at the starly who flew into the air above it.

Avalbane pulled out a poke ball and expanded it. "This is for luck.." She muttered and kissed the top of the ball. "Hurry Fulgora!" The shinx nodded and ran up the side of a tree, feline claws digging into the bark. From a high branch the small cat Pokemon lunged from a branch onto the starly's back. Both Pokemon tumbled into the tall grass, which cushioned the fall. "All right! Poke ball GO!" Avalbane shouted and threw the ball, hitting the starly on its wing. In a flash of red the bird was gone, and the ball trembled.

Avalbane stood in silence, Fulgora just watched the ball as the pokemon inside struggled. Soon however the ball let out a small ' boop' and went still. "Fulgora...We.." Avalbanes eyes grew wide and sparkled brightly "We have our first new partner!!"

The shinx let out a happy "Shiiiinx!" and jumped onto her trainers head as she bent down to pick up the ball. Both were laughing happily but went quiet at the sudden sound of someone clapping. Avalbane stood up, Fulgora clinging to her hat, and turned to face a tall man wearing a strange outfit showing a large N on the chest.

"Not bad, not bad at all.." The man said, a smirk in his voice. "Pity for you it's your final capture."He was walking closer now, and Avalbane stepped back. Fulgora hissed atop her trainers head, causing the man to laugh darkly. "That kitten won't do anything to me, now, come here girl! " He reached for her but suddenly yelled in pain from a Bagon bite to the leg.
"Hey! The girl does not seem to want you, besides, you're kind of old. You a pedophile or something?" A sudden voice came from a little down the path.

Both Avalbane and the strange man turned to face a small girl with long blond hair. The man cursed under his breath then smirked slightly. "You're sick too, right girly?" The man had a slightly insane look in his eyes.
"Sir, that is none of your business. Now back off or you WILL be waking up in a hospital bed." The man laughed and grabbed at Avalbanes wrist, hard enough to make her wince, and pulled her to him. "Sorry girls, but your both my quarry tonight."
Avalbane and Fulgora both growled at the man, however Fulgora jumped down and stood beside the bagon who looked nervously back at its trainer for a command. To the mans surprise, Avalbane pulled herself free and grabbed the man from behind, by the arms. " I've worked with machoke before man! So you've messed with the wrong girl! " She looked back at the newcomer and smiled. "Thanks for the help! " The new girl walked up, her long blue shirt flapping in the sudden wind.
"It was nothing. Now we should turn this man in."

The man growled and expanded a pokeball he had attached to a wristband. "Go Stunky! Smokescreen!" The small purple skunk appeared from the ball and released a cloud of foul smelling smoke, both trainers and pokemon began coughing and Avalbane lost her grip on the man. When the smoke cleared the stranger and stunky was gone.

"Well Damn! " Avalbane pouted and shook her head to Fulgora. " We lost the guy.."

The new girl sighed silently to herself. " Bagon, return. " The small dragon vanished back into its ball through a flash of light. " I see you may have been able to fend for yourself.. " She let a very small smile play on her face, and Avalbane shrugged. "Maybe, maybe not, I owe you and your bagon though. The names Avalbane, Avalbane Celtrose! And this is Fulgora!" The shinx mewed slightly, and the girl held out a gloved hand. " ...Tsubaki, it's a pleasure to meet you Avalbane." She took the others hand firmly and shook it.

"So.." Avalbane started. " You and me..How bout we kinda, partner up? I kinda need to get to the Pokemon league in less than half a year..." Tsubaki blinked, staring at the girl. " You too? Well, I guess we can help each other for a while. But if it comes to it, it will be every girl for herself. " Avalbane nodded, grinning widely and they both walked off, Tsubaki wondering what she had gotten herself into with this new girl.

Little did both know, the stranger was still in the area, waiting for easier targets to walk by.
