3rd Gen Contest

Hi, I am currently making PokéGen (thread is in thread number 108292 (since I can't link to it due to post count :\)), but I have not played the games beyond GSC. I was wondering if the Contest stats affect gameplay at all. From what I can see, they are just tacked onto the adventure part of the game and play no role in the strategy part, but I may be mistaken. I was planning on just having a rare item evolve Pokémon the way Feebas does, but I don't know how that would work. Thanks.

No, their only use are evolving Feebas. Apart from that, they are only used for contests.
