I am hoping to get an NDS for Christmas.

If I do, what games should I get?

    I want:
    Pokemon Pearl
    The World ends with You

    Diamond > Pearl.

TWEWY is a brilliant game, you should definately get that.

There is a large amount of Final Fantasy titles on DS, if you're a S-Enix fan.

Get Elite Beat Agents. Now. Easily the best game on the DS ever.

    Advance Wars: Dark Conflict
    Advance WarS: Days of Ruin
First is the EU & AU release, second the US release, so whatever region you live in.

I won't sing the game's praises, just tell you it's a good one worth having a look at.

Final Fantasy III and VI are two really good DS games. And if you're a Legend of Zelda fan, then you should also pick up LOZ: The Phantom Hourglass.

Mario Kart is a good classic which can bring some joy for a while.
But it really depends on your interests...
I heard the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon II is good, but I haven't played yet..
Also Animal Crossing, but that looks better on Wii.

    The World Ends With You
Pokémon Platinum (at this rate you should just wait for March)
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness
    Elite Beat Agents
    Mario Kart DS
    Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (+sequels, eventually)
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
    Tetris DS
    Wario Ware Touched!

That would be my list of suggestions. They're all great games that I thoroughly enjoyed and you can't really go wrong with any of them. :D

Guitar Hero is pretty neat and unique and Metroid Prime Hunters is still sexy.

    The World Ends With You
Pokémon Platinum (at this rate you should just wait for March)
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness
    Mario Kart DS
    Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
    Tetris DS
    Wario Ware Touched!

The above (cannot say much about EBA or Layton and while Phoenix Wright is fun it lacks considerably in the replay department IMO, making it a game to borrow at best) along with Final Fantasy IV and New Super Mario Bros would be good bets. Chrono Trigger DS might be worth a look, as well, depending on your tastes.

Phantom Hourglass is a little shallow...

Not that anyone here is going to take me seriously, but I suggest MegaMan: Star Force Leo/Pegasus/Dragon (?) anyways. If you've played the Battle Network series before, they're comparable (and in the same story continuity). Do not buy the second one until you finish the first one...now, the story is a little corny because the protagonist is sickeningly emo, but it's a fun game if you need stress relief.

Not enough said. Go for something new and snappy. Oh i know the newest unicorn game. Seriosuly though i believe every game was covered. Except pictocross ds. If you love puzzles you will love this.

As was said before, you should without a doubt get Chrono Trigger DS. Some of the games in the Castlevania series, if you're a fan, are none too shabby (Ecclesia, PoR). If you're into music, the Korg DS-10 is a neat little game. Other than that, there are just hundreds of titles to list...

OOH get guitar hero on tour if you like the stand out game. Its a bit awkward at first but fun as the time passes.
