SUSE Studio (http://susestudio.com/) has been released (article (http://blog.cornelius-schumacher.de/2009/07/suse-studio-launch.html); it is invite only right now, you can apply here (http://susestudio.com/account/login)). Essentially, it lets you create a completely customized Linux distribution based on OpenSUSE / SLE, where you select the included software and such. The result can be downloaded as a VMware image, a LiveCD or USB image, or a few other options. You can even test your distribution in a web browser, apparently (requires flash).

That looks great. I've been keen to try a KDE Distro for some time, and this would be a decent idea for cutting down the filesize for the download.

I supposed you're interested in cutting back on all the bloatware?

That's pretty cute; axshually. I'm somewhat under the impression that I've *heard* of the idea before; but it might have been in reference to SuSE. The option to download as a VMware Appliance is especially clever, imo.
