Well, I may not know a satisfying amount of Japanese, but I think I can wit my way through it. And I can't wait to buy the game in English when it comes out here in America. :'D Also, thank Arceus for blogs having drafts, whew.

So, I'll be doing my own little walk through on the game. If you'd like official coverage, there's another blog with this same goal, so I'd like to direct you to Erik's Platinum Coverage Blog. (Probably doing a better job than me) *shot* On the other hand, I'll be casually rambling on my journey through the newly frosted Sinnoh. Screenshots, mysteries, and enough commentary to make the text limit look too small. :D Do note, as with any Platinum filled post, this will contain some spoilers. It's your decision to keep reading, not mine. And if you do happen to read it all, leave some feedback. How am I doing, What do you want to hear, and so forth.

The starting screen cries out a ringing Giratina, the game is set, everything is ready... (After a long Rowan introduction) the television blares. No longer the mythical red Gyarados of the past. I walk over, Takao (My Rival's name, credit Clara for that XD) appears ranting about money and Pocket Monsters apparently. Patches of trees and grass dusted with snow, with excitement (& eager feet) we make our way to Rowan, and we received our first Pocket Monsters. Me and my water fetish selected Piplup, while Takao (and Dawn to a degree) selected Turtwig (Naetle) and Chimchar (Hikozaru) respectively. I must say the new sprites are fantastic, but Piplup does indeed look like it was knocked upside the head. ._.

We suddenly wind up in a "stompfest" battle. First off, obvious changes have been made. One, the battle lag is gone. (Woohoo!) Two, Rival gets animation, just like the Pocket Monsters. And more importantly, the AI (Artificial Intelligence) is indeed smarter & tougher. In previous generations, if it had the advantage, it may not take the chance. This time, it sets up fully (just like any competitive player would) and slowly, but surely drains me tackle by tackle. Knowing it would setup like no tomorrow, I had Piplup growl along, eventually severely destroying Turtwig's attacking ability. With his defense stages maxing out at six, and his attack the same, just negative... the stall war begins. It was pound on pound, tackle on tackle. Who ever gets the critical hit would get the win. Fortunately enough, luck didn't play a factor as the attacks exchanged back and forth, to win by a small two health points.

After the battle I'm getting dinner from mom and Takao and I head over to the lake, Cyrus appears in the distance, to suddenly leave the premises with the cry of Mespirit ringing about as we make our leave. Anyway, time to get this game under way, train Piplup some. Memories flood back as the screech of Starly's cry burns my ears. :D

Meeting up with Rowan and the gang, I name my Piplup Anti, and go out to explore the routes, tell my mom, learn how to catch Pocket Monsters from Dawn, and look for an intimidating Shinx. After about an hour, I find a male! :D Catching a Lv. 3 Shinx. (Male Shinx looks > Female, anyway) Again, the sprites continue to amaze me. Nicknaming the little guy, Deano. Trained it around level nine, and headed for Jubilife City!

Apparently the regular trainers don't have animation, which is a bit disappointing, but hey I'll take what they give me. XD After trading spots with Anti (Piplup) & Deano (Shinx) I shift Deano to lead and run through the trainers. (One even had a grass cloak Burmy) Finally get into the City with Dawn already there. We meet up and come to greet the detective, Handsome, who... well, first impression is pretty funny. He has his own music, and he's running around every corner to evade people's eyes. It's like a Brock loving Joy kinda funny? XD I don't know, gave me a laugh. Wish I knew what he said though.

After that I head into the school and him Takao his necessities, snatch a couple of battle. (Nerd had a Starly, School girl had a Bidoof) Hoped for something different, but ah well. An interesting dilemma appeared when I had to answer the voucher's questions. I don't remember them from Diamond, but going with the correct guess every time I soon received the PokéEtch. :D

I soon head over to the formerly known GTS. Not to enter, as that guard still blocks the path, but just to catch a glance. Even if I can't go inside, it just looks freaking sweet on the outside. XD So, yeah, I thought that was really cool, can't wait to go inside down the road.

So, with the miniature, newly designed watch, I take my way to Route 204 (North of Jubilife), where I find some battles with trainers, and some fresh items that I have clue what they are. :D Then train Shinx and Piplup to Lv 10 and 11 respectively and head over to Route 203. Takao shows up and the battle begins, he opens up with a Starly. Right off the bat, Shinx's intimidate does some favors. After a few tackles, Starly goes down. Only for his trusty Turtwig to show up. Knowing he's not going to mess around I switch to Piplup, he sets up with Withdraw. I use Growl while he continues to set up. After his attack was depleted by large amounts, I hit him on the other side of the spectrum with Bubble. Being a special attack, it negates his boosts, but at the same time not very effective. Surely enough I get his health close to panic again, but luckily I had Shinx in my back pocket as the Trump Card in case things went in the wrong direction. Anti finishes Turtwig off, and now 2 - 0 against Takao.

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And that's how far I've gotten, some noticeable changes, and welcome changes too. =D Hopefully someone liked it, oh well. :B You can see the attachments for more screenshots up to this point.

    Catch ya next time~
