  • CONTINUED YEAH ALL RIGHT.

After that, went to the Radio Tower to fight the bad song choices played in today's music industry the cool TR music now blazing across every channel demanding Giovanni come back. They changed it up a touch - to get in first you have to go in disguise as a TR grunt after talking to someone in the underground. Interestingly you can see rockets blocking off Whitney from getting out of the gym this time around. Once you go in disguise into the tower you're let in... but Silver shows up and recognises you. D= He then leaves you to battle your way out of the mess. How nice of him. -_- (But it just re-enforces his character all the more). =D

The tower acts as the same more or less after that... I quite like the admin who is disguised as the Director and his Koffing Army which seemed to get an awful lot of Posion hax but was otherwise easy. (Particularly when I had enough of getting poisoned and switched to Scizor). As a side note, yet again I applaud the attention to detail - if you talk to your Pokemon on some of the levels, they show angry faces. They don't like TR.

The underground also runs the same - Amulet coin still there, same trainers, etc. The infamous puzzle there though is...kinda dumbed down. =/ Colour coded, and only took me 3 switch changes to solve it and get all of the items to get as well (middle, right, left from memory). Maybe I got lucky though? Anyways, after getting the card from the Director, I went and saved the world while spending time listening to the Awesome Rocket themed musics. The top of the Radio Tower looks neat (was that picture of a lookout-like place and a TR guy we saw a week from the release if anyone's interested). Houndoom went down to Surf-a-plenty. After they left, the Director came and talked a lot. A LOT. Turned to leave twice before talking again and all. I think he was making up excuses, saying how despite my actions in saving him, his staff, Goldenrod and even the world from the Radio waves, and being the head of the only Radio tower in the land with people like Oak on the shows, etc, he only could afford to give me a feather.

Sure, it was a Rainbow Wing Feather, and it's shiny and pretty and all... but where's my money!?

After Ice Beaming him in the face healing my Pokemon I went towards Ice Path, finally evolving my Bayleef into Meganium as well, I might add. (It looks cool and Petal Dance FTW). Before entering as well I encountered Entei but didn't catch it like Raikou. Amusingly though, I encountered it while surfing. XD I knew it was odd to hear cool different music when the encounter started...

It's all too clear how much I remember about the games. Didn't even think about the old puzzles - just went in and did them and came out of the Ice Path 5 minutes later. There's a guy there who probably stops you if you miss the HM Waterfall this time around, and a Kimono girl as well who you have to push out of a puzzle.

Went to the move relearner, and gave a Heart Scale to get Crobat to learn Cross Posion. Woot. Moved straight onto the gym - the puzzle is neat and the lava looks great. Trainers harder than usual, but certainly manageable. Clair's Gyarados met a newly-learnt Discharge from Amphoros, and the Dragonairs were managed by my reliable Lapras. Kingdra was brought down more slowly (Clair liked healing it) and took out one of my Pokemon with a critical hit Hydro Pump. It saw its demise soon after though, and Clair rewarded me with a badge- no, wait, no badge for you, it appears. Whee, repeat of Crystal.

Went to Dragon's Den. The music...took some time to get used too, but now I like it, actually, after being unsure about parts. Still trainers about, and Whirlpool required. (They look neat, but using Whirlpool on it doesn't kill it off... oh well). Went and did the quiz, and the badge once Clair showed up - her reactions involved shouting in LARGE TEXT and running real fast out - most amusing. Went out and got a TM for her and then got my my ExtremeSpeed Dratini (note - you HAVE to talk to Clair first to get it).

Now that I had beaten all of the gyms, I went and did some battles first. Responded to some phone calls and rebattled people, who already had levels close to mine (in the 30's), which was good to see. Some people now give you stuff like Proteins after you beat them - huzzah! Also had a phone call from Youngster Joey who proceeded to talk about RATTATA. He sure liked talking about RATTATA. Kept mentioning RATTATA, he did. Probably because he had a RATTATA. In fact i'd say he talked about RATTATA about 7-8 times in that RATTATA-themed conversation.

I then went and explored RATTATA Dark cave, battled people south of Blackthorn, and bothered doing the routes west of Cianwood now I had Waterfall. Looks neat, music is ok I suppose there. Sounds some Miltank as well (they hold MooMooMilk, yay). Tried the Safari zone as well - it's nice looking, and has Pokemon like Magnemite and Murkrow, yay. Couldn't customise the place yet, but I had to catch a Geodude apparently to show to the guy in the reception area, and he called me sometime later, so I guess I can now! There's no walk/step limit either - just if you run out of Safari Balls.

Then I flew to New Bark Town. You're absolutely not allowed to surf east - your mother stops you, and if you talk to Elm and get a Master Ball, your pseudo-rival stops you. How nice of her - and did she stalk me so much she knows I should get Ho-oh? Eh. AND SO I WENT to Ecruteak and talked to the Kimono girls in the Dance Theatre - not before the rival appeared though and kicked me out of the way again. (Now made more amusing if you happen to be riding a bike at the time!)

The Kimono girls put up a decent fight, actually - decently levelled Eeveelutions and its 5 fights in a row. Beat them easily enough but they proved more challenging than Clair discounting hax, IMO. Once I won they gave me the Clear Bell. Then some girl came it, and they hurried out suddenly. Went to the Tin Tower, now allowed to go in. The path to it with the red leaves and trees and all - AWESOME. No music - just the sounds of your footsteps on the leaves/pathway. Nice effect there, IMO.

The Tower was basically the same as well before - music I quite liked, and with you showing the Rainbow feather tot he guy blocking the stairs. (It levitates and shines!) The puzzle was the same, so did it quickly again thanks to the fact I CAN'T FORGET ABOUT THIS STUFF ARRGH.

The top of the Tower again looks great like the Lighthouse. And it got better. The Kimono girls are already there (what?), and began dancing as the Clear Bell levitated began ringing, causing other bells hanging off the side to ring. This summoned Ho-oh who flew down. Really good cut-scene. As for ho-oh, bar the fact that it liked hitting with Sacred Fire and Fire Blast, paralysis and some whittling down meant several Dusk Balls later, I caught myself a Ho-oh. Huzzah.

First thing I did after that was go running about with a Ho-oh behind me. XD It doesn't appear in buildings though because it's so darn big, but the overworld is good enough. XD

AND THAT'S ENOUGH FOR NOW maybe tomorrow I'll write about how I did at the Elite Four. Whee.

  • I don't recall any Zelda-like 'item get' music - probably because he's just presenting it rather than getting it at that point. It's pretty nice though.

And yep, Koffing Army is still in. =D
