Everyone's posting tips about new members of PC getting settled and stuff, and I feel guilty for not posting mine, especially that I'm a NU/W mod and I help new members. I'm sorta lost here. haha So, in this entry, I'm just gonna share my experiences as a *former* newbie myself, as well as mistakes I've learned in the past.

Here we gooooooo~

~Don't rush that 15-post count! - It's really, really understandable that you want to post that awesome image, or this cool link, or you really want to give away some Pokemon, etcetera...but it's not the end of the world if you can't show it. xD Try looking for discussions that may fit your interests, or...if you're super friendly, try welcoming a few members at my section. Those do count as well. ;)

~If you need help, don't fret! - Yeah, PC can be really overwhelming and a bit intimidating at times, especially since it's a really large community. You'll later learn that the staff, as well as the members here, are REALLY FRIENDLY... like FRIENDLY AWESOME. I ADORE helping out others. Don't be scared to leave me a PM. I'm always open for questions.

~When in doubt, read the rules - This was one thing I totally ignore every time. I'm the type of person that "jumps" into the action...THEN reads the rules. It's a bad habit and this also happened when I got modded. Worst mistake of my life. Anyways, give yourself time to read the rules. Don't rush yourself by just skipping sections. And, if you don't understand something, ask a staff member and they'll re-elaborate it for you. As a NU/W moderator, I hate to see new members get in trouble. So, it's highly encouraged to do this. Point is: don't be like me. :P

~Google The Search Feature is your best friend. - About 60% of topics get locked because there's already a similar thread open and active. Don't let your thread (or threads) be part of that 60%. PC has a pretty useful search feature, and honestly, I've used it numerous times just to be sure that my idea for a new thread...has already been made by someone else. lol. I'm not that much of a thread maker anyways, hahaha. Take advantage of the search feature. You'll love it.

Well, I guess that would be it It's kinda hard to reminisce other mistakes I've done, but they're so faintly in my mind.. Other lovely members may have posted other tips for you. Take those wisely as well, you'll probably need them as well. I, Megan, your friendly moderator, am here if you're confused with anything that goes on in this lovely community. I just wanted to say, have a FABULOUS time here.

no, seriously... I did this to join the bandwagon, and I'm bored. soooo yeah? xD

This is praiseworthy quality. None of that other drama inducing ichor here. At least you respected the intent of the original instead instead of riding the other wagon cart.

Yay.

Although I wouldn't say 60% of threads get locked from there already being one. At least not in the section I go to.
