I have made a huge mistake...

For years now I made it almost a tradition to watch one or two episodes of each anime in a given season, In the hope of finding a gem, a diamond in the rough if you will. Well this season, in an effort to find said diamonds, I ran into a couple of landmines that almost destroyed my whole week by how unbelievably irredeemably bad they are... holy **** my friends...

Hajimete no Gal and Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. are piles of absolute dog ****

-BREAK-

Let's start with the lesser of two evils shall we? Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni roughly translates as In Another World With My Smartphone, The show is a painfully (like rip your heart out painful) generic story about a guy transported to a magical world... with one catch, he brings his smart phone with him.

Most shows of this nature typically has three types of protagonists. The idiot who stupid yet crafty and unbelievably savvy, The helpless teen who knows nothing of the world and has to fight for survival. Or God's chosen Hero completely overpowered. Now the author chose the Completely overpowered hero, who is unbelievably and shamelessly OP... Holy crap... He's basically superman. Actually I think it's better to call him a Gary Stu really, he has all the qualifications of being one. Jesus...

Now OP characters like this can work (Or at least be bearable), if written well, Characters Like Momonga From Overlord, Blank from No game No Life and Saito from Zero no Tsukaima are overpowered characters yes, but they are endearing, like-able, they have flaws, weakness, and well defined character traits. Mochizuki, Touya has none of those, he's a good guy who can basically do anything he want's in the show, and people instantly love him for it. He basically forms a harem the instant he arrived, the girls just love him because of his completely OP nature, and his sickeningly dull good guy act. His OP-ness also removes any tension in any conflict he's in, as he can simply solve anything with his powers.

"He can't possibly that OP right? "

Well the character has access to every-single magic spell in the world... he just needs to know the ****ing name of the spell... and he can use it. No limitations, no after affects, no nothing. He's so broken that he breaks the anime he's in... All of the other characters in his party are all one note stereotypes, I can't believe how dull they are... sigh don't watch this show...

-BREAK-

Hajimete no Gal is a bad show, I-I can't believe this thing is even allowed to exist. This show is billed as an ecchi romantic-comedy, it only succeeds in one of those tags...

It's the season of love and our perverted hero Junichi believes its time to get himself a girlfriend. Goaded by his ass**** friends, he goes for a hot Gal... Yame Yukana... suprisingly she accepts his confession and romance and hilarity ensues. Right? My question is... why? why? does Yukana accept? Junichi our MC is disgustingly perverted, and trapped in his own dream-world, and clearly can't hold a conversation with other normal human beings. His friends (Who are supposed to be taken as funny) are just as perverted, and come off as one tip away from sexually assaulting a girl, with one of them just being a lolicon.

Now don't get me wrong, Perverted MC's/ Characters can be done well... Issie From DXD, Master Roshi, and heck Sanji, are all dirty minded individuals.

But our MC in this case, is just again disgustingly perverted. Even going out of his way to peek on Yukana's panties after he begged (Literally got on his knees) her to be his girlfriend... Does the girl have standards? or does she know him in the past, cause jesus he's not funny, not kind at all, all he wants is to get in her pants, and he has zero redeeming qualities.

All there scenes are also just fanservice pandering bull****, no character development, no scenes of interest. It feels like 50% of the show is just stuck in the protags mind, as he thinks of all the disgusting things he wants to do with Yukana. WTF?

Even To Love-ru a show built on the foundation of Rito's god luck where tripping nets him a one way ticked to boob city... isn't as unabashedly shameless as this show is.

AND THIS SHOW IS THE 5TH MOST POPULAR SHOW IN MAL GOD KILL ME NOW!!!

-BREAK-

After almost having an aneurysm after watching those two shows back to back, I figured I needed to detoxify. Luckily a throwaway joke from Isekai wa Smartphone, reminded me of someone.

"How old are you?"

"I'm Seventeen"

"Oi... oi"

If you are familiar with that gag... then you the perpetually seventeen VA Kikuko Inoue, The voice of Belldandy from the Show Ah! My Goddess, and Kazami Mizuho from Onegai Sensei.

So I spent the last week Watching those two shows to rid myself of the horribly **** like taste left by Hajimete no Gal and Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.

Don't watch those two shows... find something better to do with your time...
