This is going to come off as super mean, but I came to a realization...

  • People who flaunt their disabilities, either mental or physical, don't deserve pity. I have friends who are disabled, and I have nothing against them because they make an honest attempt to live their lives without doing crap like announcing they have problems to make people feel sorry for them, or to use it to get their own way. I know not all people with problems fall under that category, but there are some attention lovers that are, and it's degrading to those with issues of their own that try to live honest lives.

And I get the feeling some people are going to misinterpret what I'm saying and blow it way out of proportion, but ah well. No point in having an opinion if I can't express it.

No, I agree with you there. Theres a tetraplegia sufferer who lives down the road from us and he makes it his job to try squeeze whatever money he can out of the residents of our street. Quite sad, actually.

  • It sickens me when people use their disabilities as a crutch or an excuse to do whatever or act however they want. Most people that I know with disabilities try to overcome them and try to live as normal of a life as possible around their disability, rather than constantly using it as a crutch.

David, by making this blog entry, you said a lot of things that a lot of other people were thinking, but never really said this publicly before, and for that, you've gotten a lot of respect coming from me.

You have real balls man, like Nick said, a lot of have thought it but very few would say it.

I try my best to ignore my disability, when I **** up on something I accept my part in it, instead of trying to pin it on my Dyspraxia. It really hacks me off when others play the disabled card.

  • I happen to have a very non-crippling disease, scoliosis, it is very painful a times but I wont deny the fact that no one can tell I have it unless I announce it or anything... I hate people who use it as an excuse ALL the time but you have to realize... For someone like me it's just turning your disabilities into an advantage.

(And by sever scoliosis I mean I have DOUBLE Scoliosis which is two seperate cases and the curvature is very very ...Bad... The only reason it isn't noticeable is because I'm so fat xD)
