What kind of a non-gamer (or at least a person who isn't a hardcore gamer) gets onto Steam during a big sale and ends up spending around $70AU? What kind of ridiculous human being spends that much money on games when they still have a bunch of other Steam games they barely play or haven't touched and plenty of unfinished console games? The quick answer to that question is "me".

Yesterday, before spending hours watching the painful live coverage of the Australian federal election, I ventured onto the Steam store thinking that I'd get myself a treat or two to help deal with the stress of Elections and bring some amusement into my dull life. I thought maybe I'd be spending $20-$30. I have since learned a very important lesson (that I should already have learned): one does not buy Steam games in moderation. I have now added Limbo, The Stanley Parable, Don't Starve Together, two Higurashi VNs, Endless Legend, To the Moon, Transistor and Undertale all to my library and am barely resisting the temptation to go looking for more.

So far I've played eighty-six minutes of Limbo and Three Hours of Undertale. Both are really good. I don't think Undertale is nearly as good as the hype would lead you to believe, but since I got it once the insane hype died down it's been really fun... even if I did kill Toriel and end my chances of a pacifist run in the first fifteen minutes. Limbo wasn't on sale but I really wanted it for it's awesome atmosphere and excessive morbidity. I'm also thoroughly enjoying it, although those spiders are a right pain in the ass. Next on the to-do list is to try the first Higurashi VN. I'm a huge fan on he anime series so I'm expecting I'll thoroughly enjoy it.

I don't think I'll start any of the other new games until I finish one of these three, but we'll see. I'll keep you posted with anything interesting.
