  • It's time to plot for National Novel Writing Month! :D

I just decided on what to do today. I wasn't feeling as adventurous as I was last year, where I did something (somewhat) completely new. For a bit, I debated doing something with [ch] or [sa] since I did that two years ago, as opposed to last year, which was a different setting altogether. But, with those series done, with all the interesting side-stories started (it's against NaNoWriMo rules to continue something already started) and with nothing to really rewrite, I decided to stick in the same basic universe my last NaNo took place in, just on a different planet during a different timeframe.

So, I have a story which I shall call [p-r]nmn for the moment, as it doesn't actually have a title. It's not my NaNo last year; I originally started this waaaaay back in 8th grade. It's been through a lot of re-writes. Anyway, there's a journal that's mentioned in this story. So, I'm going to write it. Or, rather, the most interesting bits of it. At the moment, I've hit yet another roadblock in [p-r]nmn. I'm hoping this journal will help me figure out the direction of it. It's complicated why, but I just do.

I think the thing that excites me most is that, unlike my last two projects, I really really REALLY should have a coherent story done by November 30th. It'll probably need more tweaking, but on that date, it will have a beginning, middle, and end. My last two NaNo projects were much bigger than I had anticipated. This one, I know what happens at a very basic level, and I know where it needs to go. It's basically just jotting down these events. I could probably write it out-of-order and have it all work out in the end, unlike anything else I've written. And, although I know the major events, there's so much potential for new stuff at the same time. It's going to be different from the last two years, that's for sure.

If anything, the biggest challenge might be having 50k. On one hand, there's enough to fill 50k, but on the other, it seems so... short. Might be because the last two NaNo novels were epics compared to this journal, which doesn't span an enormous amount of time.

Already I'm looking forward to NaNo, and it's not even halfway through October. Now, to outwrite my sister! d("d)

  • NaNo, Triplestrisk, is National Novel Writing Month (usu. NaNoWriMo or just NaNo). And yes, Nica, you gotta sign up but it won't take you long.

I plan to do this when I leave school. :3

  • Evidently not.

On a completely unrelated note, Rin and Len's version of 恋は戦争 is undeniably awesome.
