This week, our heroes escape the forest, only for Ash to see that Paul has no interest in being friends.
Besides taking Team Rocket out, I felt it would be a lot more effective if Ash was brushed off after an offer of a second round, instead of being thrashed again. As the episode was running long as it was, adding in a battle on top of just getting out of the forest seemed like padding, so I decided that less was more, and removed the second battle.
In addition, I had to account for the starter swap (Ash has Chimchar instead of Turtwig now), but this made for a nice little heart to heart between Ash and Diddy.
This also marks the first time Brock uses his bow in Shinou. He will also use it in the Fantasy Stage, shoot down enemy vehicles (not necessarily Team Rocket, as they are cut for the remix), and on rare occasions, combat.
Next time, the group arrives in Jubilife City, while Dawn gets a few pointers on appeals, and Brock gets a chance to practice his Fantasy Stage material, unknowingly completing his team early.
