This week, the gang arrives in Jubilife City, where Dawn gets a few tips on appeals for Contests, and Brock gets to practice for the Fantasy Stage.

This episode was majorly rewritten thanks to Team Rocket being cut. Rather than have them arrive in Jubilife City a few episodes down the line, I chose to have them arrive now, setting up for next week's episode, where they venture to the outskirts of the city for Dawn's first catch. I also moved Brock getting Croagunk to here, as the original episode would not make sense with Team Rocket gone. (so enjoy the jabs in the sensitive areas when they happen--the remixed Brock doesn't get them as often)

I brought in the Trainer's School from the games, and expanded it to include classes on Contests and the Fantasy Stage, in addition to general training and battling. Like the games, appeals do have types, but it is not as important as they are in the games.

Now that Brock has something to do (as the Fantasy Stage often runs concurrently with Contests), I figured here would be a good place for him to practice his material, since he will often be performing concurrently while Dawn is competing in the Contest. Dawn's imagined ID number in her daydream is the Japanese release date of D/P (her real Contest ID numbers will change for each Contest). She also wears the green costume from before in her daydream.

My imagined last name for Dawn, Solberg, means "sun mountain".

Next time, Dawn finally gets her first catch!
