Why does this seem like a really weird situation?

Hero: Look at my happy Pokemon!
Daisy: Oh YAY! Have my brother's phone number.
Hero:...What?

2)
Hero: Can I have your brother's phone number?
Daisy: No.
Hero: Please?
Daisy: If you show me some happy pokemon I will.

It's like he's some rock star and his manager won't give up the personal cell unless you pay them. With a happy pokemon?
