This week, the group discovers the Old Chateau's bakery, but also find a cheeky Rotom!
Rather than just being an abandoned house, I decided to reframe the Old Chateau as a historic house that has long since opened up to private tours--but that doesn't mean it is free of ghostly shenanigans.
Thinking up the history of the house and the people who might have lived there was the best part of writing this episode. Having a real family that once lived there (and the Old Gateau once made by someone) now gave more meaning to the Old Gateau. Rather than Brock finding the kitchen and working by himself, in my imagined Pokeworld, it is one of the many things guests can do when they visit the Chateau.
One of the biggest changes was speeding up the shenanigans with Rotom (and foreshadowing the Rotom Pokedex down the road) Rather than needing an entire team to take Rotom down, it is Tarina's quick thinking that saves the day.
Next time, Dawn and Satomi bond together as Ash prepares for his match with Byron!
