A Hack Idea

    • I may not have much experience when it comes to hacking, if at all, but I did have this one idea a few years back for a Pokemon Fire Red hack involving an old Creepypasta I read called Pokemon Strangled Red. The idea was to be able to battle S!3VeN (or whatever his name was) and his level 100 Miki. I imagine that making the Trainer sequence wouldn't be too much of a hassle compared to recreating the "house" on the West (or was it East?) side of Pallet Town. And maybe after the battle a chance to "catch" Miki itself. Perhaps one day when I get the fundamentals down for ROMhacking I'll be able to make that little idea of mine become reality.

    I think I sense a collaboration on the horizon. If it's sprites that you're looking for, I could be of some help. After all, I did put together a fan Fakedex/Cookbook for a fan-sequel to Pokemon Sweet version (albeit it's just that, a Fakedex and not a whole hack itself...). If you're willing to help me make this old idea of mine come to reality, that'd be amazing.

    • I just read through that copypasta. Not bad, but it would be nearly impossible to do. I would be unable to do it on Red, and Firered might take away some of the effect.

    The story itself, while it can be duplicated, really isn't worth it. I don't know if you've ROM hacked before, but it is quite a lot of effort, with very little reward.

    This would take months, possibly years to complete, wouldn't have the same effect as the story, and would require more then just a two man team. It would require ASM for the continue parts, and all in all, I, not to be rude, would probably give up on this one.

    I thought at first that it was a smaller copy pasta, you know, like one small town, but this would have to be a full fledged game.

    All I really wanted to do was create a battle sequence, really.

    I'd rather wait to have more experience in ROM hacking before I go through a full-fledged story.
