I was all excited cause I have a cell phone upgrade coming up in two weeks. I went to Verizon today to take a look at the three phones I was choosing from (iPhone 5, Galaxy Nexus, & Galaxy S III). The Galaxy Nexus was the phone I ended up choosing in the end. The Verizon employee asked if I had any questions. I asked if I would lose my unlimited data plan if I upgraded to the phone, and he said yes.
Well this upset me a little bit, but I got on with it.
So he told me that at the same price I'm paying for unlimited data ($30) I could get 2GB of monthly data. I asked him to check my data usage for the last few months...and my average was 4.1GB...MORE THAN DOUBLE WHAT I WOULD BE ALLOTTED IF I UPGRADED. That means I would be paying $50 a month if had the same data usage.
So obviously I can't upgrade anytime soon otherwise my bill we be higher (which I don't want).
So if I buy a phone outright (without upgrade pricing) then I could keep it...but the phones are RIDICULOUSLY more expensive that way. The phone I want is $50 on contract (through Amazon's Wireless Store) or $600 FREAKING DOLLARS without a contract.
My iPhone 4 is already kind of beginning to not work like it used to (I'm pretty rough on my phones). And I've also had it for more than a year and half.
Ugh.
I'm just so upset.
