  • Introduction

Hello fellow makers. Once again, here I'm with yet, another BW-inspired resource (at this point, it's safe to say that I have a soft spot towards Gen V). This time, I've decided to make the Essentials Default Pokédex look like the BW Pokédex.

Thus was born this little side project that I'm very happy to share with you guys. I also wanted to thanks the user NettoHikari, for, without his help, I wouldn't be able to figure out how to properly set the whole script.

    Compatibility

Supports Pokémon Essentials v18.x and Pokémon Essentials v19.1. It also works with Generation 8 Project for Essentials v18 and v18.1 (Scripts, PBS and More) and ZUD Plugin.

    Spoiler:

    Version 19 Instructions

Download the file BW Pokédex.rar with the graphics and the plugin through the link below and extract the files and paste the folders Graphics and Plugins in your project main folder.

    Individual Download

    Older Versions
    Spoiler:

    Attention

    - Requires Scripting Utilities by Luka S.J. for the script to work correctly.

If your use this resource, please credit it as BW Pokédex.

    Modified by DeepBlue PacificWaves.

Special thanks to NettoHikari, that helped with the Ent Scene/Entry Page code.

  • This is a beautiful resource! Now I don't have to update my BW/B2W2 Pokedex Entry thread XD.

Jokes aside, this is wonderfully done.

P.S- It would be really great if you made a BW2 variant of this which can be turned off/on with a variable

    That's indeed odd.

When does exactly the error happens (ex: when open the Pokédex through the menu, when you open the Dex list, when you search a Pokémon, etc.)?
What version or build of the Essentials are you're using (ex: version 16, 17, 18, etc)?

But thanks, I'm very glad you liked it.

Now that you mentioned, I suppose I could do it, but I would certain need to study a way to do it (I'm not that good at scripting, at the least yet).

Just when I open it through the menu, and it's in version 18. Anytime it accesses the regions Pokédex.

  • Could you send me via Pastebin the script BW Pokedex Main, so I can compare it with mine? I want to see this version with the error more closely. Also, this issue happens in maps set to be in another region, cause I was having a similiar issue when I've opened the Pokédex, but the solution wasn't in the script itself (I've forgot to defined the second region in PBS townmap.txt)

Edit: I've realised a while ago that this request didn't made sense, but I've only been able to update this post now. I'm working to see where exactly this error happens and how could I fix it. In other words, expect a updated version of this resource in the future.

  • Gen 8/ZUD Compatibility Added!

Hello there guys. I've made some changes to BW Pokédex, mainly to add support to Gen 8/ZUD Plugin. I also took the opportunity to make some minor changes to some codes. If you already had the scripts installed, I would recommend you download this new updated version. Here some pictures and a Changelog

    Pokédex BW Style
    Pokédex BW Style

    02 - BW_PokedexMain

    - Minor changes the UI in the Pokémon Search List, in order to accommodate Pokémon with larger sprites.
    - Changed the X and Y position of the Pokémon Battler
    - Changed code of Dex Name, so it can remain the same, no matter the resolution

    03 - BW_PokedexEntry

    - Changed X and Y position of the Battler in Entry Page
    - Created many Dex Page Names, rather than use the UI
    - Created a Capture Bar sprite
    - Created capture text when Registering Pokémon
    - Deleted code that "push" Pokémon Back Sprites down. Now, all the back sprites have a set Y position
    - Aligned to the center the text of Pokémon Kind info, in order to accommodate new Pokémon Kinds.
    - Changed the Y position of Pokémon Inches and Pounds, if in the USA
    - Changed Y position of Pokémon Battlers in Forms Page
    - Changed Y position of Pokémon Icons in Forms Page

  • Do you will add Mouse module

I'm gonna be honest, I don't exactly have plans to implement it in the near future, but after I saw how well done it was made in B2W2 Trainer Card for Essentials v18.1, I'll definitely study more deep into it

    UPDATE:

People were commenting that I forgot to include BW_PokedexMain, and posted the like of BW_PokedexMenu twice instead. For that, I'm sorry and I wanted to say that the link was fixed.

  • Minor Update for Pokémon Essentials v19.1

Heya folks. How are doing today?

I'm just passing here to say that Pokédex BW Style was updated to Pokémon Essentials v19.1. The older version appears to work well with Pokémon Essentials v19.1, but I thought it was best to update it right away. Just a warning though. This new update won't work that well in Pokémon Essentials v19, so if you're not planning to use the new v19.1, I wouldn't recommend downloading this new update of the script.

With that said, I hope y'all are doing well. Peace

(It's been a while since the last time I went to this site, and I forgot the password of this account.)

Hello! I'm currently developing a Pokémon fangame using Pokémon Essentials v19.1 and will be around a region based on Central America. The thing is that I want to add this plugin into my game alongside other resources (with credit, of course), but when trying to add the plugin and start the game, the plugin seems to not start and then the Pokédex looks like this. (See image below)

    Pokédex BW Style

There's a way i can fix it, so it can work properly as normal? (Note that I'm using Luka S.J.'s Scripting Utilities for this as requiered.)

    Hey there. How's it going?

From the look of it, it appears that the compiler didn't quite compile the plugin. Did you tried to delete the PluginScripts file in the Data folder of your main project and then run the game again from RMXP?

I'm doing good these days. I tried to put another plugin of yours and then delete that file; then I playtest the project to see if works and surprise, it worked. I hope the other plugin works fine as well.
