Hey hey - currently up to New Mauville and I am loving this hack! Using a team of Combusken, Azumarill, Roselia, Shedinja, Mightyena and Plusle/Magneton. The abilities mesh so well together to create interesting game play, and pokemon like Goldeen are so much more viable because of it. My only reservations are the lack of documentation (especially for changes in evolution - I caught a Magneton thinking it would evolve at New Mauv or with a stone, but it did not ; move and TM changes also catch me off guard, no physical fairy stab on Azu at Lv30), and my other reservation is the reduction of trainers causing less experience, which in turn have my Pokemon under-leveled at many times. I think with normal evolutions, this game would be perfect and the lower amount of trainers would not be as much of a problem.

Additionally, I would recommend making the heart scale tutor free, and adding Eviolite pre-Norman, but these are not necessary. Overall, great job and I would love to see a Fire Red version of this some day.

    Pokemon Energized Emerald V1.0.6

A bugfix that fixed an issue that was making bad eggs accidentally got reverted in an earlier version. This version puts it back in. I would strongly recommend that players switch to this version ASAP.

    patch download - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/188KKMivEsLLeIkT1ScSC5S-CtBy_U96A?usp=share_link

    Changelog
-Moved Water Stone item ball to an easier place to reach in the Abandoned Ship.
-Added a Dawn Stone item ball in Petalburg City.
    -Fixed collisions in Fiery Path.
-Put back in an important bugfix that was accidentally reverted in an earlier version.

Megas weren't originally going to be in it, they were the very last feature that got added in before release. I wanted players to experiment with new stuff, not go back to what they know is OP. I later decided that after beating the game's challenges there wasn't much reason to hold Megas back and give players a new toy.

Why not perhaps enable them around the time of the 8th gym? About the same time as when all the national dex-related features unlock in ORAS, just in time to at least make them usable for late game and even this brand new post-game but not too early enough to make the mid-game very easy. Better than locking them completely behind 100%'ing something that's extremely difficult and stress-inducing to do, plus I think the Battle Frontier isn't exactly known to be stable in most Emerald hacks. Just a suggestion is all.

Do love the idea of this hack overall though, kinda sounds like a more polished version of luuma's Altered Emerald with these type of features (cept without all the brand new extra areas before post-game). I'm gonna try it for sure once enough updates are released.

having a lot of fun with this hack :^) i just reached mauville and i'm starting to wonder if there's an easy way to grind money at any point? it'd be nice to be able to grab the good tms from the game corner but i'm garbo at gambling. if nothing else, i could always wander around with a pack of zigzagoons and sell pick up items.

also, @ the mega evolution discussion, personally i vastly prefer NOT having mega evolutions. most pokemon can't mega evolve, after all, and in rom hacks that do include it, every single major fight typically has a mega evolution in it. it's just a pain when none of the pokemon you want to use have a mega, or you do want to use a pokemon that has it but you have a strategy that involves using literally any held item (which was why i had a non-mega mawile as a crucial setup member in my inclement emerald team...)

granted, i'm not far enough in the game to see if there are megas in boss fights after all and it's just the player who doesn't have access. if that's the case, then it would be nice to be able to mega evolve before the elite four just to be on equal footing. maybe during the badge check before you're allowed to enter, they also give you a mega ring, and you can buy all the stones at the league mart.

Was playing an older version and got stuck from the Weather Institute bug. Updated and came back and still can't progress.

I've made a workaround for that which you can find in the Pokemon Energized Emerald Discord channel (there's a link to the channel in the README in the patch download link).

hello again, i have a bug to report....! for some reason, winona seems to have a bad egg on her team? the first time i fought her, she sent it out at full health after switching in from altaria because i had put it to sleep, and it had altaria's sprite but was lower than it should be. i didn't think to screenshot it until after i'd already killed it, so i made a separate save state and reloaded to see if i could get it to show up consistently, and it was on her team again. this time it came out with no sprite and already almost dead (probably because her altaria had about that much hp the turn before it died and she switched to the bad egg)
Pokemon Energized Emerald - Global release

worth noting that interacting with the bad egg didn't seem to produce any negative results, not even as minor as temporary graphical glitches. none of my party members were replaced with bad eggs during or after the fight and the game didn't freeze or anything on either attempt.

Which version of the game is this?

Could you give me a copy of the save file (just before you fight Winona) and the steps you did to reproduce the bug?

i apologize, once i got the bug to show up again, i then overwrote the save file... i did the battle completely differently both times, though. the first time, i was focused on winning or at least trying my best to feel out her team, so i used who i assumed would be my best lead and took as few risks through the fight as possible. the second time, i used a random lead and mostly just attacked indiscriminately to see if the bad egg was still on her team.

the one thing that was consistent between both fights was that i had sent out my swalot and used yawn on her altaria both times. the first time, i still had swalot out when she switched into the bad egg, but as you can see in the screenshot, i switched to my own altaria (i found a full odds shiny! :^)) right after putting it to sleep in the second fight.

in the first fight, she switched into the bad egg while altaria was asleep. in the second fight, altaria woke up, got paralyzed by secret power, fainted, and then was replaced again by the bad egg. the only consistent active factors were that i'd put her altaria to sleep via yawn both times, and both times the bad egg came in to replace altaria through different means. the fact that i was also carrying an altaria could have maybe been a factor as well?

Did the Swellow use U-turn at all during the battle?

Did the bad egg replace any of the members of her team? (Swellow, Tropius, Pelipper, Skarmory)

the swellow used u-turn in at least the first battle, assumedly because i led with mightyena. i definitely recall seeing skarmory because i had to remember swalot has corrosion (i don't have fire moves) and i believe she had her tropius as well (again, no fire moves, so i had to improvise). i don't recall if it was the same both times, because i thought i saw pelipper as well...

come to think of it, i don't remember if the swellow came back out after using u-turn, but i do vaguely recall seeing all the other members of flannery's team. it's possible it's that specific move's fault, since i hear those types of moves have a tendency to cause problems in rom hacks. it might be good to ask if anyone has reached winona and what happened when they did if you've been in contact with other people playing the game.
