  • 1. Night Maintenance. Outside of that, it's really how you play. If you play with all out and use every card as soon as you get it, obviously you're going to run out quickly (unless you end the battle before that happens). Play with a bit more caution.

Quick question, though- how long do your battles generally last?

    2. I dunno. Supporters? You don't really need to take out more than four energies.

  • What'll stop you from running out of cards? Quit drawing so much, use discretion, and if you're in the Red, work with what you've got.

It's all about knowing WHEN to use the cards. If there's no immediate threat to your team at the moment, you don't need to draw 20 cards this turn.

Amp figured me out.... oh well... my battles last less than ten turns before the school bell rings, my old deck gets school'd (5 turns or less), or I win (no losses since the original "Forest Fire" was created last saturday)....

List of my trainers (that aren't in use)
    • Armor Fossil
    • Claw Fossil
    • Double Full Heal
    • Dusk Ball
    • Energy Removal 2
    • Energy Search
    • Energy Switch
    • Fossil Excavator
    • Master Ball
    • Mysterious Fossil
    • Night Pokemon Center
    • Phoebe's Stadium
    • Pokedex Handy910is
    • Potion
    • Professor Birch
    • Professor Rowan
    • Quick Ball
    • Rival
    • Scott
    • Sidney's Stadium
    • Skull Fossil
    • Speed Stadium
    • Super Scoop Up
    • Switch
    • TV Reporter
    • Warp Point
    • Premier Ball
I can't decide, and you seem to be better at this than me... If I have to remove 4 energy, then I need to pick 6...

  • Wait, you can deck yourself out in five turns? Even my Hurricane, which tears through the draw pile like like an Uber-charged Heavy through the entire Blue Team doesn't move that fast. But I digress.

Ball engines (such as Dusk Ball, Quick Ball, or Master Ball) are very convenient for getting Pokemon- there's no downside to using them, as they're not supporters, so you can pack a few as backup. Energy Removal 2 is kinda nice for disuption, but not really necessary. TV Reporter works like Oak's Visit, so it's useful to have around. Warp Point is nice to have as a backup plan. Professor Birch is nice when you're low on cards, and Professor Rowan is nice to have as backup.

Lastly, how long have you been playing the TCG?

umm... no, in 10 turns, th 5 turn thing is because my old deck always got owned!!!

hmm... even in my old deck, my hand was gigantic, so no birch (especially now that my hand is always bigger than my deck).
... let's see if I've got this right:

    Pokemon (19)

    4 Chimchar (DP)
    3 Monferno (DP)
    1 Infernape (DP)
    1 Infernape Lv. X (Promo)
    2 Magmar (MT)
    2 Magmar (SW)
    1 Magmortar (SW)
    4 Skitty (PK)
    1 Delcatty (PK)

    Trainer / Supporter / Stadium (25)

    4 Bebe
    's Search
    3 Roseanne
    's Research
    2 Professor Oak's Visit
    2 Scott
    2 Team Galactic's Mars
    1 Time - Space Distortion
    2 Warp Point
    2 Professor Rowan

    1 Night Maintenance
    2 PlusPower
1 Master Ball (I think my bro took my other master ball)
    1 Dusk Ball
    1 Quick Ball
1 TV Reporter (The card that I dislike the most in here)

    Energy (16)

    16 Fire Energy

How's That? (This is MUCH better than my old Psychic/Fighting deck, and Fire/Grass deck that's for sure...)

I've played the TCG for 2-3 years (when I had my first chance to buy the cards), My collection almost had to be reset when I started entering tournaments...

  • Three years? Hmm... and in those three years, you've never been to a league? How did you fare in the tournaments you went to?

Before you continue with your deck, try reading some FAQs or tutorials on deck building, so you can grasp the basics of deck building and strategy. I know you may feel like you don't need it, but looking at the deck... you need it.

No, they still don't combo very well. Maggie puts Fire energies into the discard, but so does Nape- and Nape does so in a much more efficient manner. If they were to combo well, Maggie would have to do something that Nape couldn't.

I've read tons.... they're all useless unless you can find a better one specifically fo competetive play.... mortar lv x can damage spread while ape lv x can't :nervous: and sonicyellow's my little bro, I've been referring to him a bit:)....

So what if he can spread damage? Nape can already do 90- with that kind of power, who needs damage spreading? Yes, Mortar can do that job slightly better than Nape- but overall, he just gets in Nape's way.

you have a point there.... either way my deck seem to be almost at the best I can do at the moment... any further suggestions for the deck aside from buying those cards you recommended?
