I hope nobody minds that I started before I was officially put on the list, I was too bored and wanted to see if I could beat the game with just one type. :)
-Restarted my Diamond version
-Picked girl, named myself Sakura and my rival Li
-Picked Chimchar (to make this more challenging, since my rival will have Piplup - normal doesn't fair so well against steel!) which turned out to be female with a jolly nature, too bad I won't be using her!
-Nicknamed Chimchar PC rot
-Caught a Starly and nicknamed him Izzy
-Leveled up Starly with a little difficulty
-Starly evolved into Staravia
-Trained him up to level 16
-Caught a bidoof since I won't be able to beat Roark without him. x_x Nicknamed him Temporary
-Trained Bidoof to level 15. She evolved into Bibarel - Staravia also got to 17 in the process
-Battled Roark and won thanks to Bibarel
-Beat Team Galactic easily with Lucas
-Beat Galartic Grunt guarding the Valley Windworks... but oh noes, I'm locked out! Whatever shall I do?
-Beat the two Galactic Grunts to get the key
-Defeated Mars
-Caught a male Buneary and named him Pie
-Battled through Eterna Forest, training my three pokemon as I traveled to Eterna City
-Went back to check on my honey trees... unfortunately no Aipom appeared!
-Arrived in Eterna City
-Defeated Gardenia thanks to Staravia wiping out her entire team. Also went off to beat Team Galactic with little difficulty
-Made my way to Hearthome City, defeating my rival once I arrived there
-Saved and quit

I'll be searching for a Cleffa or Clefairy tonight. :D
February 7 Update:
-Finally caught a Cleffa with a decent nature, gave her EXP. share, nicknamed her Cupcake
-Began to search for a munchlax or aipom by checking all the honey trees
-Finally caught an aipom after a few hours or mindless searching and killing useless bugs
-Battled all the trainers to Solaceon Town, including the ones in the tower, and the ones in the Ruins
-Began the long trek to Veilstone City, eventually arriving only to find out I'm way too poor to get any decent TM's from the game corner
-After defeating all the trainers in the gym, I decided that I'd need to train my pokemon more before battling the Gym Leader. Only Staravia will have a decent chance, all of my other pokemon are way too squishy
-Trained Aipom to level 32, she evolved into Ambipom
-Caught a few Girafarig, put one in my party and gave her the EXP. share
-Used a rare candy on Cleffa, she finally evolved into Clefairy!
-Finally went to challenge Maylene, I hope I can beat her!
Clefairy proved herself useful in making the enemy pokemon fall asleep, for some reason they kept using non-fighting type attacks on her too, lol. Staraptor managed to beat all of Maylene's pokemon up with Aerial Ace and Close Combat - intimidate also made most of them quite harmless. After defeating Maylene I received the Cobble Badge and a TM for drain punch. Lucas was outside, explaining that he needed help since he let Team Galactic steal his pokedex. Oh noes, I guess I'll have to go and help him!
-Battled Team Galactic with Lucas; his Clefairy is completely useless, she used metronome which turned into earthquake, but since she has horrible attack it didn't really do anything at all. My Ambipom managed to wipe out Team Galactic's pokemon, and Lucas got his pokedex back, hurray.
-Took out HM Slave 2.0 from my PC (Starly) replaced Buneary with him, and taught him fly to fly to Pastoria City
-Battled all of the trainers in Pastoria City gym
-Trained Girafarig and Clefairy with the trainers between Pastoria and Hearthome
-Battled Crasher Wake, and won
-Followed Team Galactic grunt around just for fun
-Dumb rival interrupted me. -_- I defeated him and continued to pursue the grunt
-Gave the psyduck the secretpotion to get past them, also took the amulet from Cynthia
-Battled a few trainers and wild pokemon, then saved and quite

Update! February 8th:
-Battled my way to Celestic Town, defeating the grunt and all of the other trainers around there
-Flew back to Hearthome after giving the charm to Cynthia's hag-like grandma
-Defeated all of the trainers in the Hearthome Gym
-Finally got a moon stone; Clefairy evolved into Clefable!
-Buneary also evolved, but I realized he was useless for my team, so I deposited him into my PC
-Now I am about to challenge Fantina with Staraptor, Ambipom, Girafarig and Clefable.
The battle with the Frenchie, er, Fantina was fairly easy. I started out with Clefable, who knew Shadow Ball. I was a little surprised how my pokemon were only three levels above hers on average, but that didn't seem to make a big difference, luckily. Anyway, Drifblim was trying to be annoying and was using Minimize, but I got a lucky critical Shadow Ball off on him. Girafarig was sent in to battle Gengar - Gengar was powerful and Poison Jab did quite a bit of damage to my Girafarig, but Psybeam was superior. Of course Fantina used a hyper potion, but that made no difference. Last to come out was Mismagius, who was a level higher than Girafarig. I decided to keep her in, since she knew Assurance and also was immune to ghost moves. Unfortunately Mismagius used Confuse Ray on Girafarig, which eventually helped her faint. D: I still had three pokemon left, so there were no worries. I sent out Ambipom, hoping that she could outrun Mismagius and end this battle quickly. Ambipom finished off Mismagius, and I defeated Fantina! I got the badge and TM65 - Shadow Claw. While it's not the best move, Ambipom would make good use of it. As usual Cynthia popped out of nowhere and gave me orders as to what to do next - I suppose she's relatively helpful, at least. While Bibarel had proven herself to be useful in the past, I feel like my team would be better off using two HM slaves, Clefable, Girafarig, Staraptor and Ambipom - this way I don't have to constantly which pokemon, at least.
-Flew to Veilstone to get some more coins. Maybe in a few years I'll actually be able to afford the ice beam TM? -_-;
-Flew to Jubilife, then surfed and battled my way to Canalave City. I'm not looking forward to my next gym battle, so hopefully I can squeeze some training in beforehand
-Defeated Li. Sakura always beat Li in the anime so I figure it's pretty accurate here, too. >_>
-Took the boat to Iron Island for some training. It is filled with rock and steel types, but I hope I can still manage!
-Trained on the island until all four of my pokemon were level 42
-Challenged Byron
The battle was easy. I started off with Clefable, who kept using Shadow Ball on his Bronzor until it fainted. She then took on his Steelix, repeating Magical Leaf until he too fainted. Finally, Bastiodon. I switched in Staraptor who then used Close Combat on him, finishing him off with a single hit. The battle was quite easy, but I was thankful Bronzor didn't use hypnosis at all - that pokemon almost completely walls my team, only Clefable can take it down without much difficulty. I got the badge and the useless TM, then encountered my rival outside. I followed him to the building, and the story continues...
-Ran over to Lake Valor, battled the grunts and then entered the cave
-Defeated the gender and fashion challenged Saturn
-Flew to Lake Verity and beat up more grunts there
-Beat Mars without any difficulty or problems
-Flew to Celestic Town so I can travel to Lake Acuity and Snowpoint
-Got outside onto the snow path. Saved and quit

February 9th-13th Update (Since the website was down you get to see the rest of my game! :) )
-Battled my way to Snowpoint
-Had some intense training before I went to the gym
-Finally went to the gym, knocked out all the trainers there as well as the Gym Leader (sorry for the little details, I wasn't near a computer when I was playing so I can't remember much)
-Went to Lake Acuity to see my rival be a big baby, as usual
-Flew to Veilstone. Ran around the HQ, gathering all the items and battling the trainers
-Defeated Cyrus and whatever Lieutenant is after him - I cannot remember their names, they all look the same with their wigs from a bad drag shop
-Went into Mt. Coronet; this is my least favourite part of the game, since the pokemon in this case are annoying, especially Bronzong since it takes forever to knock out and walls half of my pokemon
-Got to the top, battled the team of grunts and got closer to the Galactic Lieutenants, and Cyrus
-My extremely weak rival arrived to help me with Jupiter and Mars; ugh, he's so useless I'd rather just defeat them both alone!
-Defeated them both, despite my rival being useless and them having those incredibly annoying Bronzor
-Li finally did something useful since he healed my pokemon
-Beat up Cyrus; it was easy without my annoying rival trying to help me with his useless pokemon -_-;; His munchlax was incredibly unhelpful
-2HKO'd Dialga and got only 1500 EXP? So much for defeating a so-called legendary D:
-Got out of Mt. Coronet and made my way to Sunyshore
-Trained in the grass outside of Sunyshore for a while. Floatzel and Gastrodon give lots of experience, despite both being annoying in their own special ways
-Defeated all the Gym Leaders, and challenged Volkner!
Okay, so this battle was quite easy. I'm not sure why, but even with the little training I did beforehand, my pokemon were way ahead of his. Ambipom OHKO'd his Raichu with Return, 2KHO'd his Ambipom with return, Clefable was doing pretty well with Luxray, but then a combination of his Sitrus Berry and Volkner using a hyper potion, as well as Clefable getting paralyzed made me impatient so I switched back to Ambipom. Why does this guy use like no electric pokemon, anyway? I'm so glad Platinum is going to fix this, since all of these Gym Leaders not using their designated type are bugging me - especially when they're not even close! Octillery shouldn't be used in an electric gym just because it has yellow spots on it and knows charge beam. XD Anyway, Ambipom made quick work of that useless Octillery, taking it out in two hits. Hurray! Well, Ambipom was definitely the star in this battle, but I'm sure even Staraptor could've taken down Volkner's entire team, lol.
-Took out my old Bibarel to teach her waterfall
-Surfed (sooooo sloooow) to the Pokemon League, battling trainers on the way
-Got through Victory Road, healed my pokemon, then went back to train a little bit
-Battled my rival, Li. Here's how it went:
I started out with Clefable. She took Staraptor down with two Shock Waves. Heracross was 2HKO'd by Flamethrower. She 2HKO'd Rapidash with Psychic. My Staraptor took down Snorlax with a single Close Combat. Roserade went down from an Aerial Ace, and Empoleon also fainted from Close Combat. All in all, a really easy battle, but only because my pokemon are like fifteen levels higher!
I'm off to the Elite 4 now! First up, Aaron:
Staraptor was the star of the show here. Aerial Ace made quick work of all of his pokemon, while Return took out his Drapion (which isn't even a bug pokemon, gr D: ). Sorry for the commentary being pretty boring, but it was a really uneventful battle except against Drapion since he didn't want to faint. I hate Full Restores. D:
Bertha:
I started the battle out with Girafarig. Grass Knot did a ton of damage to every single one of Bertha's pokemon, taking them out in one hits most of the time, or even two. Of course Bertha kept using Full Restores just to prolong her suffering, but it didn't bother me too much. I got unlucky with Hippowdon who knocked out Girafarig because of Sandstorm. Ambipom replaced her, knocking out Hippowdon. Unfortunately Golem's defenses were too high, and even a Brick Break from Ambipom wasn't sufficient. Clefable came in and used Psychic, but even then Golem did not go down. Another Psychic went, and Golem was barely alive. Of course Bertha used another Full Restore, so I had to start all over again. Finally Golem went down after three more Psychics. Bertha was down to her last Pokemon, Whiscash. More Psychics were fired at it, and Clefable beat Whiscash, barely hanging on. This was the battle I was most worried about, and considering I did not use any items, I think I did pretty well!
After using most of my revives and potions, I moved onto the next challenge. Flint:
Rapidash went down with two Returns, thankfully Flint didn't use a full restore because Rapidash was going to fire off Solarbeam the next turn! Infernape went down with two Aerial Aces. So far so good, but now I've got to deal with the rest of his pokemon which aren't fire types! Okay, next to come out is Lopunny. I used Brick Break which took off half of Lopunny's health, but Cute Charm got me stuck for FOUR TURNS in a row. I got sick of it and just switched pokemon, since Lopunny kept using Charm on Ambipom anyway. Out came Staraptor. One Close Combat took that stupid pokemon down, whew. Girafarig was sent in on Steelix, using Grass Knot on Steelix. Two hits took him down, thankfully. Girafarig used Crunch on Drifbloom, but the annoying pokemon burnt her. Ah well, Flint was defeated anyway. He was really annoying. >_>
Just using one Full Restore, Lucian is my next target. Hopefully this goes well!:
First up was Ambipom versus Mr. Mine. One critical Shadow Claw took him out, maybe this battle won't be as annoying as the last two? I sent in Staraptor on his Medicham, not wanting to risk having Ambipom take a psychic attack. Aerial Ace almost took Medicham out, but he hung on with a sliver of HP... then got a critical hit Drain Punch on me, gr. After I got rid of Medicham, next up was Alakazam - Ambipom used Shadow Claw on him, but he barely hung on, argh. Psychic almost knocked Ambipom out, and of course Lucian used a Full Restore. Alakazam went down. and next up was Girafarig. I sent out my own, and used two Crunches, which knocked him out. Last but certainly not least, my least favourite pokemon; Bronzong. Clefable came out, using Flamethrower. Of course I would've taken it out with just two Flamethrowers if he didn't have a Sitrus Berry and use a Full Restore. After a few more Flamethrowers, Bronzong FINALLY went down. My God, the Elite 4 is so cheap with all these potions!
Next up, Cynthia. I'm nervous. D:
Spiritomb came up, who I used Staraptor against. I hate Spiritomb, so I kept using Aerial Ace and hoped Cynthia didn't use a Full Restore... and of course she did, after making Spiritomb use Embargo. Finally after another three attacks, the damn thing died. She sent out Milotic next, and I sent out Girafarig. I used Grass Knot, which only did about 1/4 damage. : / It was the best attack I had for her, though, so I kept using it. Of course Milotic got a critical hit surf on Girafarig, what's up with these hacks? -_- Okay, next came out Clefable with Shock Wave, which did barely any damage. For once, she didn't use a Full Restore, and Milotic fainted. Next out was Lucario, who I used Staraptor against. I used Close Combat, which for once actually took him down with one hit! She sent out Gastrodon next, so I sent out my Starly so I could use Max Revive on Girafarig. I sent her out and used Grass Knot, two of them took down Gastrodon. Next out was Roserade, who I sent Strapaptor out against. I only had one Aerial Ace, but luckily it took her out in one hit. Finally, the last pokemon was sent out, Garchomp. I sent Girafarig out, and she was nearly knocked out by a single earthquake. Fortunately Garchomp used Giga Impact next - it did knock out Girafarig, but she'll have to recharge on the next turn. Next out was Staraptor, I used Return, although it didn't do very much. I used Close Combat since I knew Garchomp would knock me out if it didn't knock her out - it didn't unfortunately. : / But, it used Giga Impact and it missed! Of course Cynthia used a Full Restore, so I had to start all over again, bleh. Garchomp used Giga Impact, which knocked out Staraptor, but I was hopeful I could take it out while it recharged. Ambipom went out and used Return - thankfully, it knocked Garchomp out, and I beat the Elite 4! Pretty good for only using one item in battle and having four normal types, right? XD Okay, well here's my team:
