I haven't even gotten to the first gym yet, although there are noticeable differences. I'm actually trying to get Pokemon with a certain nature, and it's a bit frustrating. Anyways, I like it so far. But one thing I hate is the new graphics for the part that shows your health in battle. It was white, not it's black and it looks a bit odd. Other than that, Platinum's awesome!

I picked it up this morning at about 10:30... got it as a birthday present to myself. I played for an hour and then my friends threw me a surprise party so I'm JUST now starting to play it again. It's LOADS of fun though... I love all the slight differences, especially the back sprite animations!

An appearance by Cyrus before I even get the Pokédex? A random appearance by the Looker before I even get to the first gym? Awesome! I love the ongoing plots and recurring characters in Pokémon games, so the more that the overall plotline intrudes on the regular grind of getting badges, the better. Even if it's little cameo appearances of later characters.

Plus, as a fan of any and all villainous teams, I applaud Platinum for having the earliest appearance of a bad guy in a game to date.
And my Piplup is female. Is there a higher ratio of female-to-male starters in Platinum, or were the three of us that commented on it so far just lucky? (Or unlucky, depending on your preference. I'm thinking "easier breeding," so I consider it good luck.)

The OWs are better, too. The male sprite doesn't look like he's about to topple over from that monstrous hat when he's got heavier clothes on.

I really hope I don't know what you mean by that.. Please, lie to me if you have too haha, I don't like any form of spoilers @.@

I didn't get very far yet, but so far I like it. Return TM ftw. Of course very similar to the others but so far I like the new features. Can't wait to get further into the game!

I'm loving the speed, the sprites and other graphics are all very awesome and with all the excitement I'm loving the beginning of this new story that's unfolding.

I've finally got around to playing it.
I Love the new Wi-Fi enhancements. But the Plaza is always full of people. =P

I'm still in Jubilife but I could say my $35+ isn't wasted. XD

I'm going to take it slow in this game and try to immerse myself. I've already played Diamond...so no need to rush. ^_^

Anyone know where that Shaymin Flower is? I am in Floraroma town and can't find it...

Talk to the blond girl straight ahead from the entrance to Floaroma.

I like the Global Terminal better than the GTS (adds more suspense and excitement to it), still haven't traded anything though. Loving the new sprites and Gym Leader animations, even though some changes can't be noticed with a good look. :p Been to the WiFi Plaza twice and had fun while taking a break from the adventure. The new gyms are better than the old ones. (specially Fantina's, which in D/P could be done without fighting XD)

I'm lovin' the GUI enhancements, plus all the graphical enhancements, period. I like that the other characters have a lot more involvement, and the "rival dance" as someone put it is pretty funny. The battle animations seem faster/better, too, which is good. I'm still not too far along (just beat Gardenia, going to the Galactic building next) due to how fun it is just to take my time and enjoy it.

    Platinum FTW!

...also, on a side note, I just got Pokerus for the first time ever. It must be a lucky game! :3

Wayyy better than D/P. Battles are way faster and I love the new trainer and pokemon animations. I just wish the beginning wasn't so... slooww...

I'm not very far, just past the first gym. The beginning of the game took way too long. It was forever before you got the free poke'balls and I was beginning to think I couldn't nickname the starter. It was just weird.
I do like the graphic updates though, and the plot seems to be better developed, if only a little.

Well, so far, I am up to the Hearthome Gym...

I have noticed that Ralts is a common appearance on Route 208.
Among that, my Ralts just evolved and I like Kirlia's sprite very much.

I also love how Cynthia gives you a Togepi egg at Eterna City.
In my opinion, it's much better than having a Happiny.

Got quite a few items from and around the giant pile of sand in Oreburgh City.

    Got myself:
    - Dire Hit
    - Yellow Shard
around the pile in pokeballs, and in the pile I found:
    - Heart Scale
    - Pearl

How far is everyone, lol. Never had much of a chance to play that much since I got it yesterday.
