Yes that is Cyndaquil and its spriting as OW. Not bad as far as I can tell.

Updated arts are most certainly updated and evenly awesome. (is that a totodile with a trunk or a phanphy?)
i like what i'm seeing, but..... will i have to have a DSI to play this if there is a camera? maybe it's like to take pictures inside the game (sorta pokemon snap styled)

I like the look of the Pokegear, but i'm a bit concerned about the Girl following you around like Dawn from D/P/Pt. She's probably gonna do the whole "follow me and don't go anywhere until you know everything about pokemon basics, even if you've played the Pokemon games before."

Also I don't like the new Lanky, Skinny, Gold.

As for new girl, she could be Kris for all we know. Look at Red's design from Gen 1 and compare it to FR/LG. Barely any resemblence. Same with the art for the unused R/G/B heroine (Blue from the comic is based on the design) and her FR/LG art. Similar hair colour and that's it. Hey, it could be happening here, with the pigtails and all. Still, I miss the blue hair. =(

I thought Red's FR/LG design was pretty close to how he looked in the original games. It's not as close as Gold's, but you could certainly tell who he was.

The only similarity I can find with this girl is the pigtails. I can't see any other similarities at all.

I'll miss Kris, but the new female trainer is cute.

The screens look awesome, I really like the one with Slowpoke's Well. Now I know Team Rocket will be in there for sure.

I thought Red's FR/LG design was pretty close to how he looked in the original games. It's not as close as Gold's, but you could certainly tell who he was.

The only similarity I can find with this girl is the pigtails. I can't see any other similarities at all.

Maybe it's just me then. *shrugs*

Anyway, she'd look closer to the original if she had blue hair.

While I'm here, new PokéGear looks more like a mobile phone.

Oh, and it's great the other player will be in a supporting role. I was very annoyed they didn't do this in FR/LG. Plus, this will give them a chance to, you know, actually have a personality.

Team Rocket, I want more pics of them in this game. The tails are so important to keep, and I'm glad they did...or else they would simply be taking away some of that originality.

If they colored the new girl with blue hair, then some of her clothing would have to be changed in color as well, or else it wouldn't have looked to right.

My first reaction was "dsfiljsafsda!" Cause I really just got Krys to grow on me.. and now this. Dx But now, the new girl's starting to grow on me. I wanna see her over world sprite.

Miltank's new art is just excellent. Couldn't have got better for my favourite Pokemon. Well done Ken! The skateboard idea and new Pokegear seem cool, as does the new girl. I didn't expect a new one. She looks cool though.

Now I would be a little annoyed if Headbutt trees were removed. In a way, it's kind of like removing Whirlpool, it was a cool part of the game and an element to Johto not seen anywhere else. Not that I dislike Honey Trees, but I don't want them in Johto.

Btw, there was supposed to be a hint at Kanto in the Johto map. Where is this map?

I wish they had simply used a slightly altered version of Crystal, to be honest. The new female character looks butt-ugly. I'm not one of those people who hate anything that's changed, I'm being serious. I'd rather gauge my eyes out with a fork than even touch her.

Wasn't Crystal, Marina from the anime? It's kind of cool that there is a new girl. At least this time it really isn't based off of someone from the anime.

I like the new Pokégear design aswell as Larvitar's new bad*** art.
It's going to take some time to get used to the new ''Kris''
Plus I like the 3d art of the Sprout Tower.

Looking at the post before the one above mines, as I look at the following starter, it does resemble Croconaw. The more red spikes on the back bring it to appear so. The Team Rocket are back and I'm glad...now to see their sprite in battle, which will hopefully come in time, I'm sure.

Team Rocket is back, this is good.

That starter sprite, looking at it closely it does sort of look like Croconaw. Maybe your starter will still be by your side even when it evolves. I wish there was a more clearer picture of it though.

well, I have to say, I'm not too enthused about the new costume+new girl, I like his old costume, he used to look like a tough bad-ass. Now he looks like another lil kid. And the female character looks RETARDED! BUT, i can live with these changes as long as they don't mess with the story.

I agree that even if there is something added that I may not like in the future news, I still will be pleased as long as it keeps close to the original storyline. For now, I'm content with the latest news that I've heard about so far.
