Alternative's Ladder Tournament

This is a new tournament run by me, Aternative. It's a ladder tournament, that's meant to be a long running tournament that could get this place active again.

This is a wi-fi tournament only, no shoddy is allowed. But I guess you could use PBR if you wanted to.

If it doesn't make sense now, it will soon.

1. This is a wi-fi tournament, meaning you have to breed and train your team on your game.

2. There will be no hacks in this tournament. If you hack your Pokemon, you will be disqualified from it.

3. The tiers used for this tournament will be: OU, UU and NU.
3.1. The top four people will play the fast-paced OU, the middle four can play either UU or OU, and the bottom four can play any tier they want.

4. The following clauses will be in effect with this tournament: Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Species Clause, Evasion Clause, Self-destruct Clause, Soul Dew Clause. You can go here for what these clauses are.

5. This tournament will have 12 people in it.

6. You can only challenge someone directly above you, and you cannot challenge someone below you.
6.1. If the challenge falls on a tier clash, the challenger will choose the tier to battle with.
6.1.1. If you win a battle, you go up one step in the ladder, whereas if you lose a battle, you go down one step in the ladder.
6.1.2. If you're in spot no. 12, and you lose, you are booted out of the tournament, and someone else can join. You can join again in three days.

7. The longer you stay in the first spot of the ladder, you more prizes you can win. You can win a new prize for every four days you stay on top in the ladder.

8. This is first come first serve. The earlier you join, the higher you you will be on the ladder.

9. Have fun in this tournament.


This will be optional. If you can, please record the battle and give me the number for it.


Also another important rule: if it comes around prize distribution day and you haven't been on the site at all, or even organized any battles, you will be kicked from the tournament, as others have wanted to join and can't due to participants' inactivity.

Here's an example of what the ladder tournament would look like.

In this ladder example, the top four people (Gyarados - Quagsire) must play OU style, while the bottom four (Relicanth - Ke$ha) can play any tier. You can't challenge someone below you, because the idea is to work your way up the ladder to be the best one there. You can only challenge someone directly above you (EG: Relicanth can challenge Quagsire). If you win a match, you go up a spot in the ladder, and if you lose, you go down a spot in the ladder. If you're last and lose, you are out, and someone else can join.

Who doesn't like prizes? These will be the prizes you cn win if you stay on top of the ladder for four days. Anyone can feel free to donate prizes if they want.

There's no rule regarding whether you play singles or doubles, so you can play any, but both people should agree on it.
