  • Nakuzami: Accepted! Very nice SU, and I look forward to seeing you roleplay as Cornelius.

Alright, so here is the deal. Due to reserves, and then all the people that I have accepted, there are no longer any spots. However, if you are reading this, and are interested in the roleplay, then I encourage you to keep checking back to see if a spot opens up. Thanks to all of you in advance!

Also, Scarf Blade asked a good question about the battling style. The tournament will (at first) be separated into two, four trainer Round Robin groups. The Black Group, and The Yellow Group. Each trainer will battle one another once, with the trainers with the two-best records from both groups advancing to the the semifinals. The #1 seed from Yellow will play Blacks #2, and vice versa. I hope that makes enough sense!

  • I can't wait, either. I have two SU's that I am waiting on at the moment, but we shall see if they are submitted soon. I think they will be. If not, I might have to VM/PM the reservees.

Also, I submitted a OOC for review everyone, so please keep a look out for that. When it is approved please post your SU's there, as well as any OOC questions.

  • I wish you the best of luck, kagan2.

Now that he has dropped, his reservee spot is now open. However, MichaelaTheUchiha recently expressed interest in the spot, and it is now hers in reserve. Aquataris I read over your re-submitted SU and I'm sorry, but again it is denied.

Once all the SU' have been submitted and accepted, I will then develop a posting order for the roleplay, and we can then begin.

  • Alright, here is my SU right now; I'm posting it because I can get access and work on it on my laptop if I post it here, right now. XD And, yes, Nakuzami, THAT Nightmare. ;) You can ride and hide now. ^^

Oooh, my personality is not 3-6 sentences. o.O Unless those are REALLY REALLY REALLY long sentences. In which case, it would be a run-on sentence. Same with history, although I don't like it that much. D=

The only thing I need is my pokemon moves, which I will get back to later. Other than that, I'm done.

  • That is one of the best SU's I have ever seen. MichaelaTheUchiha, you are accepted. Congratulations!

Just one more SU needed for submittal and we can start. ^^

    Attention:

The OOC is now up, so those that have been accepted, go ahead and take your SU's and re-post them there. Also, as already said, any questions or concerns that you have can now be taken to the OOC.

    Thanks!
    oHV

Attention (Again): The last reserved spot is now OPEN. The person who reserved the spot had to drop out of the roleplay, so the last spot is now open.

  • And so it begins.

Bradyn was finally here. Despite all the challenges he had faced in his life, despite everything that he had quit... The one thing that he would never quit, was standing right there beside him. That was his loyal Vaporeon; starting as an Eevee, standing beside Bradyn through all of the challenges he faced, pushing him to keep going when he felt like he couldn't... How could he give up on a Pokemon that was so faithful? Simple, he couldn't. Although life had given him many challenges and had tried to break his faith in everything that he held dear... He still kept it going. At nineteen, he was surely one of the oldest trainers still out and about, pursuing titles that only the young seemed to be able to win. Kind of silly, right? You'd think with age, experience would come in these tournaments... That just wasn't the case, however. The younger seemed to have all the strategy; all the game.

Plus, as silly as it would sound, Bradyn felt that those younger than him had a better chance in big situations than he did. After all... When he was younger he "retired" for five years. From age fourteen to age nineteen... Five years was a big gap of learning that he'd robbed himself of. Sure, he had kept training with the pokemon that he had attained in the first two years of training.. And sure, he had traveled a good ways and caught a decent number of pokemon... Battled and such. His techniques never grew, though. He had the same strategies, the same aggressive approach... In this age? It was all about strategy; combinations. Not just that, but it was about having the smarts and the goods to teach your team survival. In this day and age... You could have all the strength in the word, be the most tactically sound... If your team didn't know how survive, though... Consider yourself as good as done.

He was now learning these things of course, but slowly... By his own hand, also. No one wanted to share their secrets, or how they had obtained their successes. Of course... He couldn't blame them, not with all the new and high-tech competitions that were popping up left and right. Every needed their own strategies, their own approaches to the battle that constantly faced them... You know, all that good stuff. So, eventually he did come up with his own. First perfecting his hand at single battles, then taking it to the levels of double battling... And eventually tackling triple battles. He felt like he really had what it took to become one of the "elite", late bloomer or no late bloomer... The confidence that the young Bradyn once had was now flooding back in an instant.

    Enter Stars of Sinnoh.

A new competition, Stars of Sinnoh was the perfect opportunity that Bradyn was looking for. Of course, he would have to earn his way in, being that he was... Less than well known at them moment. Only the best of the best were being accepted, with the eighth and final spot going to a "qualifier". Bradyn would be up against mostly Sunyshore native trainers, and some of the best at that. Of course, just like with any other comeback story, Bradyn would earn his spot. He took a few bumps and bruises, his pokemon took some hard hits... And sadly, he lost a few members of his qualifying team early on. Of course that wouldn't stop him, though... Not at this stage! It was never going to happen. The rules of the tournament were not strict at all, and so he would be easily able to replace the fallen Pokemon while the rest were able to rest up.

The title, though... Obtaining that was an entirely different story.

    ---

    The REAL Beginning

"Vappy... I think we are finally here. FINALLY..."

As Bradyn Kipsingh turned to face his close friend Vaporeon, he could feel the electric atmosphere already boiling in his veins. Although they had won in the qualifying tournament here, although they had already seen all that Sunyshore had to offer... They hadn't been able to tour the facility just yet. Now they were able to. Built like a dream, the Stars of Sinnoh Stadium looked like something pulled out of an architect's portfolio. Oh wait... It was!

It towered into the sky, but expanded across a good stretch of land, also painted carefully enough as to not offend the eyes. Soft blues, subtle pastel yellows, as well as "water-like" designs on the all the doors and the windows. Immediately to the stadium's left, was housing; Also skying high, and also stretching across a good stretch of land, it had more... Lively colors on the outside at least. There was also a training facility within sight, but Bradyn's brain (and eyes) could only wrap around so much at a time.

"Glaceon, Leafeon, Umbreon! Come on out..."

Just then, Bradyn tossed a flurry of Pokeballs into the air, releasing three very happy (but irritated) Eevee evolutions. Falling from his bag, were the pokeballs of his Gallade and Kingdra, although Kingdra decided NOT to come out and play. Kingdra had always been a bit of a... Stubborn pokemon. Gallade, though? No, no, no... Gallade looked at every chance to get out of his pokeball as a golden opportunity to explore. He couldn't explore just yet, though; it was time for registration. Approaching the registration table with his team of five, Bradyn couldn't help but feel excited as he passed a flurry of busy-body tourists. It had been a while since he felt like he belonged in a place with an atmosphere like this... And a while, it had been since had even stepped a toe in a place like this. It was a culture shock, really.

    "Name, please?"

Bradyn was interrupted from his thoughts by a polite, but young lady sitting at the registration desk. He smiled down to her, clearing his throat and trying to ignore the fact that Vaporeon was attempting to tackle a plate full of watermelon that sat next to the girls' right arm.

"Bradyn. Bradyn Kipsingh. Vap-- Stop it!"

Just as the girl had began to start searching her list, Vaporeon gained access to the top of the table and was now gobbling piece after piece of the girls' watermelon. She seemed not to be offended, however, and continued on about her business. Bradyn would still pry Vaporeon from the table, and usher him behind the others, the nerves and a certain tenseness beginning to build in the middle of his chest. Just as he thought he was about to hit the deck, she spoke again.

"Ah! There you are, Bradyn. Right near the top. You'd think with just eight entrants I'd be able to see things like this, but... I suppose not. Oh well! That's what I get for leaving my glasses at home."

She offered a quirky smile, handing him a yellow piece of paper with his name on it, and pointing towards a brightly lit board on the wall. Bradyn had enough common sense to guess what he was, but he decided that he would let the girl explain it, anyways. Besides... What if it wasn't what he thought it was? That was the least likely explanation, but... Maybe.

"Over there is the draw board. As you may be able to tell from your sheet of paper, you will be in the Yellow Group. Over there, you will find the names of the rest of the Yellow Group contestants, as well as the contestants from the Black Group. Now fret not... The talent has been equally divided among the groups. There is no one too strong, nor too weak in these groups... You are all equally capable."

Bradyn gave her a nervous smile, and started over. Again though, she would pull him back with more words.

"Oh! I almost forgot...", She reached underneath the table for a notebook, opening it to the first page. "You will be on the second floor of housing. It's real state of the art in there... Everyone from the fans, to event coordinators, to... Me! Are staying there. I'm sure that you and the rest of the contestants will enjoy your stay here. If not... Feel free to let someone know. Have a nice stay, Bradyn... And good luck with the rest of the stars!"

It seemed like a corny line, "good luck with the rest of the stars!", but it was very much valid. Not just valid, nice. As stated, it had been a while since Bradyn had felt the welcoming feeling you get when you compete, or the warm feeling you get when the people treat you nicely. It might be silly to put so much... Emphasis on the little things, but he couldn't help it. The little things made him smile... The little things, the little steps were what had him standing here today. Not about to get all sappy, but... Yeah. It's a pretty big deal, no?

"Nubia Sterling... Cornelius Young... Brandon Callahan."

Bradyn read the names out aloud, but stored the names quickly in his head. He felt as if he had seen or heard of all three of these trainers... Or at least seen one of them on television. Was it the Brandon guy? No... It was the Nubia girl! No... That didn't quite fit the bill, either. Cornelius? No... Definitely not! It had to be Brandon... Was he the young one that had choked on national television against the a champion? YES! Okay, so it was him...

"We're going to have to be careful not to underestimate our fellow competitors, guys. They are all here for a reason... And they are all of a higher status than us. Now, I'm not saying we can't beat them... We can. We can beat the all! Just... Don't underestimate them. We're all in this together, good and bad."

Bradyn gave a quick, dashing smile to all five of his pokemon. He could feel Kingdra's pokeball moving around in his pocket, so he knew that even she agreed. This team had got him through a lot... While not always the strongest fundamentally, the six pokemon he had with him now were his strongest emotionally. They knew winning, and they knew losing... They welcomed both. They knew, along with Bradyn, that you couldn't win each and every battle... Just the ones you earn. After all, nothing is deserved... No, it's earned.

    That's life lesson number one.

"Oh, hey! Mr. Kipsingh! I almost forg---"

"I know, I know... The PC is located on the ground floor of housing, right?"

She smiled, and nodded her head.

"I got it... Thank you. I got this."

And with that, he was on his way... To housing, at least.

    One step at a time

A lot of things were running through Seth's head as he gazed out at the wonder that was Sunnyshore. He decided to take the bus instead of any special ride or escort that the committee had apparently arranged for him; he was fine with the average bus ride down to the beach town. It wasn't too crowded, so Medicham, his first Pokemon, was allowed to be out and sitting in a seat next to him. No one seemed to recognize him at all from the tournament, but that was alright. Honestly, he didn't know what he'd do if he was approached by someone asking about the Stars of Sinnoh.

This was going to be his first ever competition, even though he had traveled the world, and yet he didn't feel so nervous. The entire preliminaries were easy; he guessed his block was full of inexperienced competitors. Lilium took on most of the trainers herself, but whenever she had trouble Skitter, his Galvantula, came in and dealt with the rest. It was disappointing that his first view of the competitive scene was so lackluster, but he had hopes for the other seven trainers that made it. They shouldn't be so easy. He'd be cross if his first ever tourney was.

As Lilium rested against him, he started to think about the woman that approached him at the end of the preliminaries:

"We didn't think that you'd be such an obstacle in Cell D. I suppose it was careless to ignore the dark horse," the woman's voice echoed in his head. It made him remember the scene perfectly. Seth was on his way to the Pokemon Center to have Lilium and Skitter checked on after the final match, and that woman confronted him in the middle of the darkened corridor leading out from the stadium. She seemed to be some kind of businesswoman, purple low-cut suit and her blonde hair up to fit the part, but she was wearing sunglasses in that darkness. Seth remembered that bad vibe he had, and his reply.

"Not that it's any of my business, but I don't personally care what you were hoping. I won fair and square and secured my place in the top eight," Seth's own voice echoed, him remembering himself taking a defensive stance after walking in front of Lilium.

"That's not a bad thing. In fact, I think this was for the best," the woman had said, a confident smile on her face, "Clearly you had more potential than anyone in that Cell. At first I was beginning to worry; Cell D seemed to be the loser block and I was cursing to myself over being forced into watching over it. But then your matches in the block became more noticeable. You may be my saving grace."

"I'm no angel, and I have no clue what you're talking about,"
Seth had retorted; Lilium starting to wake up in the actual time.

"That's good, you don't need to know," the woman answered, her smile becoming more sly, "Just continue doing your best, and there won't be any problems. I look forward to seeing your future here in Stars of Sinnoh, 'Gray Reaper.'"

"'Gray Reaper...' what was that supposed to mean?" Seth asked himself, slightly in a daze. He hadn't noticed that they arrived at his stop, and he had to be nudged by his Medicham to get the hint. Realizing that he was the only passenger left on the bus, he got up and bowed to the bus driver as he shooed him off. That kind of irked him. Usually it was common courtesy to reciprocate manners, but it seemed like, as beautiful as the town was, the people of Sunnyshore were still the arrogant jerks that tried to drive him out. Just like all the other towns...

    *** Registration ***

The stadium was twice as awe-inspiring as he remembered it. He had sneaked a quick peak at it the last time he had been in town, and he narrowly evaded getting caught. Good thing Muk was there to repel them; otherwise he might have been forced to give up his spot in the tournament. In any case, he walked right up to the registration desk with a smirk as he saw two guards that obviously remembered his face.

"Name?" the lady at the stand asked, looking up at him as if trying to remember if she had seen him before. It wouldn't have mattered because the two never met before.

"Seth, and this is Lilium," Seth stated, the Medicham chirping to herself once she was also addressed.

"Seth... Seth... Ah! Yes, here you are on the top of the list!" the lady said as she looked at his name. He could tell she was trying to remember things clearly. "That's right, you're a competitor, aren't you? I knew you sounded familiar. You really took the competition by storm. You're like the nameless hero who walks into town and becomes the new sheriff in western stories!" Seth didn't bother to respond at that moment; he could feel eyes on him. Looking out the side of his eyes, he saw two guys staring at him and trying to have a private conversation. Seth could hear it clearly, though. Apparently, they were friends of a girl that he obliterated in the preliminaries. He was being blamed for crushing her hopes. Not like one should prepare for the possibility of defeat in a tournament though, right? Seth thought, then realizing that the girl was talking to him again.

    "Sorry, what?"

"I said that you will be in the second floor of housing, and you can see the other members of Black Group, along with Yellow Group, over there," the lady stated over, directing his attention to a draw board off to the side, "I hope everything will be to your liking during the stay."

"Oh, right, thanks," Seth blurted clumsily as he looked over at the board.

"Have a nice day, Seth, and I wish you luck in the tournament!" the lady said as a good-bye as Seth walked away from the desk to examine the board. He returned the pleasantries, but he was more curious about the people he was grouped with. It seemed that he wouldn't be fighting all of the seven other competitors. Approaching the board, he saw the names of the people in Black Group.

"Nickolas... Leonard... Miharu... Seth," the boy said, frowning slightly as he read off the names. There he was at the very bottom. Literally. The Yellow Group posting was above Black Group, so he was technically competitor number eight. Someone had to, but it felt kind of depressing to be the one on the bottom. Then again, he was one of the nameless people, so having him at the top of the list over more commonly known people would be less appealing than seeing familiar names and then one that wasn't so popular... did he just put himself down? "Wonderful, I'm my own worst enemy here."

"Cham... Medi," Lilium spoke up, hugging Seth's arm as she looked at him with a concerned look on her face. She seemed to say that he shouldn't worry. And she was right. Based on general stats listed next to each competitor's name (though his was the least filled out), the whole Group would be able to challenge each other without a balance issue. He had just as good a chance to win as anyone.

"... Let's go see where we'll stay for the competition," Seth suggested, Lilium agreeing as the two walked off towards Housing together. Everything was slowly beginning.

  • ((OOC: If you see something like "<*text here*>" or <*text here*>, that is Nubia speaking/thinking in her native tongue. Most likely you'll see more of the latter than the former, but there will be times when she speaks her home's language aloud.))

    ---

Sunyshore. The solar panel walkways reminded Nubia of how high-tech Opelucid City was, but that was about it. She missed the technology Unova had, wishing her parents hadn't moved using the cash she had earned. With a sigh, Nubia examined her surroundings. As the city's name implied, everything was brightly colored. The bazaar-like place, the Pokemon Center... Even the lighthouse was a nice light shade. <None of the towns in Unova are like this...> she thought to herself. But now wasn't the time to be nostalgic! Nubia had somewhere to go as soon as possible!

...Did that guy just say they were selling "Seels" at the bazaar? Nubia had only seen a few in battle, but never thought that Pokemon could be bought or sold. How different Sinnoh was from Unova! <A small stop won't hurt...> She walked inside the building and approached a man who looked like a sailor.

"I would like Seel please," Nubia responded in not-so-perfect English. The sailor gave her an odd look.

"Missy, the one you're looking for is back there. I only sell fresh Magikarp meat." The sailor motioned to a table near the far end of the building. Nubia bowed and said a quick "Thanks you" and headed that way. When she approached the counter, she asked the same question she had asked the sailor.

"I just ran out of Seals a while ago, ma'am. But I should have some tomorrow!" Nubia smiled at him.

"Ah, I see. Thanks you! I be sure to come back!" She bowed again and left the man to ponder her accent and English. He had an expression on his face that read, "How strange", but, of course, Nubia couldn't see it.

No more stops. It was time for Nubia to head off to the location where the Stars of Sinnoh tournament was to take place. She needed to find out what group she was in and how everything would work. There was some nagging feeling that she'd only find out about her group, but that was all right, too. Regardless of the details, this tournament was much different than the ones back home. It didn't seem like it'd even be regular tournament style, where it'd go from eight people to four to two to one champion. No, Nubia had a feeling that it would be much more of a challenge to become champion than it had been back in Unova.

But honestly, that was just fine.

The stadium was in no way inconspicuous and rather awe-inspiring. Nubia noticed that it was much larger than most, if not all of the stadiums she had competed in. Now wasn't the time to stare at it with an open mouth and bugged eyes, though. Now was the time to enter and register and find out her group. But Nubia couldn't just walk in there by herself. No, she had to have Pokemon by her side.

"<Come on out, Jun and Qing!>" Two Poke Balls flew into the air and released two long, thin creatures. The grass snake, Jun, slithered over to Nubia's left while the eel, Qing, went to her right. Pokemon now at her side, Nubia entered the big stadium. The doors were wide enough to fit all three at once. Nubia proceeded to approach the counter, a rather cranky-looking lady sitting there. Nubia figured she had gotten called in because the previous receptionist was on a rather long break.

"Name. Now." The receptionist took no time to say "hello" or "how are you".

"Jin Yin. I mean, Nubia Sterling." Right, she had a new name now. One that no one knew. If only she could've kept her real name.

"Your group." A piece of yellow paper with Nubia's new name was forced into her fingers. "That all? Now go." Nubia frowned.

"Where I go?" she asked as polite as she could. The receptionist looked like she was about to blow a gasket or two.

"There." She motioned to a bulletin board. "Now leave me alone." Nubia glared at the woman, but she didn't seem to give a damn. <I wonder how someone like her could ever work such a social job. Now let's see what that bulletin board has to say...> Nubia headed over to the board and looked for her name. It was there with what looked like three boys' names.

"<Bradyn, Cornelius, and Brandon, huh?>" she muttered. "<Can't say I've heard of any of them. They probably aren't that strong, though.>" She looked at the clock. <Come to think of it, we get to stay someplace, right? Maybe we'll get an oriental-style room!> This thought made her enthusiastic, and so she headed straight for the housing, the grass snake and eel following close behind her.

The housing was...boring. It reminded Nubia of her home in Castelia, but while she missed Unova she did not miss the apartment she had to live in. Still, the place seemed to be much nicer, so that was a plus. Her two Pokemon now back in their balls, Nubia went inside the building with yet another receptionist. This time it was a male with a beard so long and big a Patrat could build its nest in it.

"Excuse me, but I like to know where I stay?" Nubia asked. The man took a few seconds to try and comprehend what she had just said.

"I'll need yer name, miss. Then I can tell ya where yeh'll be stayin'." He scratched his beard, and some food crumbs fell out. It was a little gross, but Nubia kept a straight face.

"Jin...Nubia Sterling." She was able to correct herself sooner this time.

"Nubia, eh? Ah yes, I b'lieve I got a place for yeh. Lessee..." He looked down at a poorly torn sheet of paper. "'Ere we go. Nubia Sterlin', firs' floor. Got any objections?" Nubia shook her head. "Good, 'cause if ya did, sucks t' be ya! Now take this 'ere key and go fin' yerself yer room!" The man took a small key from out of his pocket and handed it to Nubia. She wondered how the heck he knew it was hers.

"First floor is good. Thanks you." She bowed for the third time that day (there was no way she'd ever bow for that hag who gave her the yellow slip of paper) and headed to the place she was staying. <Soon as I get there, I'm gonna start planning out my team! Can't let myself get behind!>

    Battle for revenge; failure

    -----

"Finish it with Ice Fang!" Zel leaped into the air and wrapped both of his jaws around the Unfezant. A double dose of Ice Fang can really hurt a flying type like Unfezant so, of course, the Unfezant fell out of the sky, unconscious. "I win. Come on Zel." I turned away from the boy, probably around fourteen, that was tending to his Unfezant. I began walking towards the registration area.

"Name, please." The receptionist asked as I approached the table.

"Cornelius Young." The receptionist quickly scanned the list of eight names that was laid out in front of her.

"Yes, Cornelius, here you are." The woman handed me a yellow sheet of paper and pointed to a lit up board. "On that board is the list of all eight contestants. There you may see the names of the other three Yellow Group contestants, and also the four Black Group contestants." I walked over to the board and quickly scanned the names.

Bradyn Kipsingh... Nubia Sterling... Brandon Callahan... and in the Black Group was Nickolas Hertz... Adam LeRoux... Miharu Mizushima... Seth Windsong. I didn't recognize some of the names, but some I knew I had heard before. I walked away from the board and to the living quarters, where I would apparently find my room on the second floor. When I arrived, I accessed the PC and arranged my Pokemon team. I switched Psypig, my Grumpig, out for Ptera, my Aerodactyl. It wouldn't do to have two pure Psychic-types on my team.

I thought of all of the Pokemon I saw the other contestants use. I figured I could do well. Or at least, I hoped I could do well. I pushed my glasses back up onto my face and then continued to my room.

"Hey, you!" I turned to see a girl, around sixteen, walking up to me. "I demand that you battle me!" A demand, huh? I didn't do too well with demands.

"And why do you demand this battle?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.

"Because you humiliated my brother in town earlier!" Oh, Unfezant boy. Well, I guess my team could go for some more training. Plus, it would be kind of funny to see this girl's demand blow up in her face.

"Fine, let's go outside." I started the opposite way of which I had originally been headed, and once I was outside, I turned on the girl. "Call out your first Pokemon."

"You won't win, just to let you know! Come on out, Pelipper!" Seriously? Had this girl seen her brother battle me? A Pelipper wasn't going to cut it.

"Zel," The Zweilous walked out in front of me. "Thunder Fang." Both of Zel's heads opened their mouths, which sparked with electricity. The heads then proceeded to bite both of Pelipper's wings, then they both bit its body. The Pelipper was down in no time at all.

"P-Pelipper!" The girl raised her Pokeball and recalled the pelican Pokemon, a shocked look on her face. She then proceeded to growl. "Abomasnow! Use Blizzard!" An Abomasnow materialized from the girl's next Pokeball, it raised its hand and summoned a huge blast of frigid wind.

"Dodge, and then use Fire Fang." Zel seemed to disappear, but I knew he was up in the air, high above the Blizzard. He could jump very high, with the assistance of his undeveloped wings. They couldn't keep him airborne for long though, so he started to plummet to earth. His fangs were bared and aflame, before one head bit Abomasnow's head and the other bit its shoulder. Another one shot.

"Ah! Abomasnow, return! Go... Altaria?" Oh, come on.

"Y'know what, no. If my Zweilous knows both Fire and Thunder Fang, you can assume that he knows Ice Fang as well, especially since I used it on your brother. Not only do you not want to send out a Pokemon with a double weakness to these moves, but you definately don't want to do it three times in a row. I'll let you rethink your third and final Pokemon."

The girl hesitated for a moment, before she returned Altaria's Pokeball to her belt and took out another one. "Come on out, Torterra!" Well, that was a bit better.

"Razor Leaf!" Torterra summoned a flurry of leaves that it shot straight at Zel.

"Outrage!" Suddenly, the leaves had caught fire and Zel was on Torterra's back, attacking it viciously.

"Shake it off!" The Torterra tried to force Zel off of its back, but failed. That was when the sun started shining, very brightly. "Solarbeam!"

That couldn't be good. "Zel, get off its back!" Too late. A huge beam emanated from Torterra's body, creating a beacon that lit of the sky even more. Zel was somewhere inside that beacon, and I had no idea where.

That is until his limp body landed in front of me. He laid there for a second, before he started to stand. He was trembling as he did so, and ended up falling back down. I took the few steps over to him and pet him for a second. "You did good, now come on." I took Zel back with me to my original spot and sat him next to me. He stayed there wo watch the rest of the battle.

"Not bad. Many people don't defeat Zel. Then again, you would not have if I hadn't given you that advice," The girl made a face, "So, come on out, Ptera!" A giant pteradactyl-like Pokemon materialized before me. My Aerodactyl, Ptera, was in flight and ready to fight. "Fire Fang!"

Ptera dropped down towards the Torterra, "Frenzy Plant!" Instantly several giant vines burst forth from the ground. Ptera maneuvered around them and bit Torterra with his flaming jaw.

"Sky Drop!" Ptera wrapped his claws around Torterra and slowly lifted it into the air. After getting about three stories high, Ptera dropped the Torterra. The Torterra landed, sending up a cloud of dust and debris. When the cloud disappeared, the Torterra was unconscious.

"NO!" The girl ran over to her Torterra, distraught about her loss.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go." I turned and headed back to my room.

  • "Nightmare, put it down. Now."

A shiny gengar pouted, setting down the shiny object in the lobby of the hall. "But whhhhhyyy..." he whined.

"If I get kicked out because you did something idiotic, I am coming after you," stated Miharu.

Nightmare sighed, pouting. "You never let me have any fun."

Miharu raised an eyebrow. Nightmare seemed to think for a few seconds. "That didn't come out right," he said.

    "No duh."

Miharu walked up the receptionist and put on a bright smile. "Hello, how are you?"

The receptionist smiled back, albeit a bit strained. "Good, yourself?"

"Fine. My name is Miz-er, Mizushima Miharu."

The receptionist nodded, typing down Miharu's name into the computer. "You may see the other seven contestants on the board over there and you are currently in the black group."

    Nightmare grinned. "Awesome!"

"Nightmare, heel," Miharu said. She smiled politely at the receptionest again. "Thank you and have a nice day."

    "You're welcome and you too."

    Miharu walked off. "Nightmare, follow."

"What am I, your dog?" Nightmare complained as he floated behind Miharu.

    "Exactly," she stated.

Nightmare growled and one of his hands started to glow purple. Miharu mock gasped. "Oooh, I am so scared! My gengar is going to Poison jab me!"

Nightmare waved the Poison Jab threatenly at Miharu. "Try. Me."

Miharu put her hands to her cheeks. "Oh no, whatever shall I do?"

Nightmare lunged at Miharu, but Miharu sidestepped and Nightmare stopped his poision jab in time to go through the wall. He noticed a Torterra and an Aerodactyl fighting. "Oooh, a pokemon battle. Man, that girl got served!"

"Nightmare!" Miharu exclaimed. It was obvious that she walked out the door to catch up with Nightmare who had phased through the wall. "Do not make me send you back into your pokeball." Miharu threatening raised up Nightmare's masterball.

Nightmare mock screamed. "NOOOOOOO, NOT THE MASTER BALL!"

Miharu raised an eyebrow. Nightmare pouted. "It's not my fault that you can mock scream better!" he shouted.

"It could be because I am a girl and it comes with the territory," Miharu stated sarcastically.

Nightmare nodded in agreement, although he did catch the sarcasm. "Must be."

Miharu rolled her eyes. "I know you caught the sarcasm, you can stop being an idiot now."

"I am never an idiot!" Nightmare exclaimed. "I am the great and all-powerful NIGHTMARE! I-"

"Yes, yes, you beat a Mew. Yes, you drink alcohol. Yes, you curse a lot. Yes, you are violent; I have heard this a million times before," Miharu cut Nightmare off while rolling her eyes.

Nightmare pouted. "Cutting off my fun two times in a day? Man, you're becoming a real stickler for the rules."

"I do not know, perhaps it could be because I do not want to get kicked out of the tournament," Miharu said. "Maybe it is because a like torturing you." Miharu paused. "Maybe it is a bit of both."

Nightmare raised his hand. "I choose the third option."

Miharu clapped her hands sarcastically. "Ding ding ding, you are correct! Your prize? Nothing!"

"At least let me have a beer," Nightmare complained.

Miharu raised an eyebrow. "You were going to ask permission first?"

Nightmare nodded. "Good point." He reached into his stomach and pulled out a beer, popped the cap, and drank about half. "Ah, now that's the stuff."

Miharu rolled her eyes. Really, the things she had to put up with.

((I guess I'm the comedic relief with Nightmare on my team. LOL.))

  • (OOC: First RP Post in OMFG how long?)

Brandon adjusted his position inside the Limo. He looked around to see the CEO of Poketech Inc., his Vice President and a Bodyguard for the CEO. The CEO took a sip of his drink and began to speak,

" Brandon, you know what you are here for. It is not for a good time, or for you to get back into Pokemon Training. You are here to win, and nothing else is acceptable."

Brandon nodded, tapping his left pointer finger on his knee. The CEO continued to speak about the importance of Brandon winning.

" You know I have a lot of money banking on you. If you win and become the hit thing, our sponsorship deal comes into play," he preached.

The Limo came to a halt, and Brandon was handed his baggage from the Body guard. The Limo driver opened the door and Brandon stepped out. Before the Limo left, the window rolled down and he heard,

" Remember, winning is what is required."

Brandon shook his shoulders and walked into the Stadium. Brandon walked up to the front desk, where he was greeted by a receptionist.

"Hello, are you participating in the Stars of Sinnoh Tournament," she asked.

Brandon tossed his I.D. card on the counter and the receptionist picked it up and read it.

" Ah, yes Brandon Callahan. Follow me please," the Receptionist invited. Brandon followed her as she walked over to the main lobby.

" There is the list of entrants," the Receptionist pointed, referring to the large board. Brandon gazed at it, looking at the group he was in.

" Braydn Kipsingh,Nubia Sterling, Cornelius Young, hmm...," Brandon muttered under his breath, trying to recall who these people were. No connections of those names came to Brandon, who followed the Receptionist to the Housing quarters. The Receptionist walked over to the Housing quarters, looked at Brandon and said,

" Your room is on the third floor, if you need anything, come by the front desk."

Brandon nodded and strolled over to the elevator, pressing the elevator button. Within a short time, the doors opened up and Brandon walked in. Brandon pressed the 3rd floor button and waited for the door to close. He waited in the elevator, thinking about strategies against the trainers. Brandon let his Omastar out, watching the Pokemon trek around the floor. The door opened, and Brandon, along with Omastar, left the elevator and looked for his room. Brandon found his room, and unlocked the door. The room looked great, and Brandon had a clear view of the Ocean from his deck. Brandon put his baggage down in the bedroom and looked at Omastar, who was looking out towards the beach.

" You wanna hang out at the beach don't ya buddy," Brandon acknowledged to his Omastar.

  • OOC: Meh :x It gets the job done.

A small and heavily decorated boat, adorned with the most flashy ribbons of glitter, docked on the shores of Sunnyshore, Sinnoh. A Wingull perched quietly on its bow and not a creature stirred within the vicinity of the boat. Suddenly a loud crash shook the boat and a bold and cranky Snorlax bursted through a sparkly wall of the boat, crushing the Wingull as it made its way into town. A tall man in blue, wearing a long blue cape, chased after the ravenous Pokemon while leaving the ship and its few crew members to perish.

Sunnyshore itself was a nice city. Nick had been here a few times while training his Pokemon, but he never really got to enjoy the market. However, today the market was the first place he would have to visit. His boat, sponsored by the citizens of Sootopolis City, had landed just a tad before noon. Normally Nick would have fed his precious Snorlax before pressing on, but his crew insisted on tying the boat to the dock before he did anything. And so Munch, who was quite irritable about missing his appropriate lunch time, gladly darted off into Sunnyshore in order to look for food. There was no doubt in Nick's mind. His Pokemon was headed off to the market place and the trail of dazed and angry victims only backed up his theory.

As Nick got closer and closer to the heart of Sunnyshore, the damage worsened. At first there were only a few dazed citizens, some of which were bruised by Munch's elbow, but, eventually there were damages being done to park benches and trash cans. Munch was looting for anything that could be eaten. Yet, Nick still took his time. Sunnyshore was really quite an amazing place. He pulled out a camera and took a few pictures of the many billboards and posters. Munch can't get into to much trouble. He's a softy.

And a bit further down, Nick found him pitched against the side of a hotdog truck and sleeping soundly. Munch had just barely entered the market place, so it was fairly untouched. The tubby Pokemon had problem made a beeline for the hotdog stand when he had taken a whiff of it and then passed out. Nick sighed deeply, having anticipated something like this, and reached for the poke ball that he had brought with him. "Return," Nick muttered with a sigh. A sucking sound rang from the ball, but it did not remove the large sleeping Pokemon. Nick had grabbed the wrong ball. Instead his Froslass made an appearance. She immediately hugged onto his legs. Sher was the affectionate one. Nick quickly returned his Pokemon and glanced around. By now a mob had formed.

"Are you this Pokemon's trainer?" one woman asked with a threat lingering in her voice. "Did you cause this mess?" a certain bald man in a cap asked next. Nick attempted to reply. Thoughts raced in his head and he looked down at a teary-eyed girl who had half a hotdog bun in her hand. Crap. He desperately needed an escape route. "Niiiiiiiiiiick!" a voice shouted angrily behind him. He curled his lips into a smile. Perfect.

"You wrecked the ship and brought the wrong poke ball and…" Nick tuned her out. What Jennifer, his chief coordinator, said was of no importance to him. "This woman!" Nick shouted out in to the crowd. "Is the Snorlax's owner." He pulled the poke ball out of Jennifer's hand and returned Munch to his poke ball. "See, he poke ball works." The crowd amassed around Jennifer and Nick was free. Of course it was a sneaky tactic, but Jennifer was better at those types of things anyways. Nick promptly headed for his main stop, tournament registration.

Nick completely ignored the decorations surrounding the battle area. He had no need for decorating that was inferior, at least in his opinion, to his idol's. Nick promptly went up to the counter. "My name is Nick and I'd like to register." The woman at the counter was an older woman with crooked glasses that moved towards the bridge of her nose as she scanned the list for a "Nick." "Nickolas Hertz?" she answered back quizzically as if that might not be correct. "It's Nick, m'am," he corrected her. "Oh?" She scratched her forehead. "There's no Nick on the list…" Nick rolled his eyes. "Yes, my name is Nickolas. Nick is short for Nickolas." "Oh!" she seemed to had finally gotten things. "My name is Kathy with a K. It's short for Catherine with a C." She giggled to herself. "Well aren't you smart?" Nick added in sarcastically. "Really?" Kathy smiled widely, not having gotten the insult. "Well, Mr. Gentleman..." She winked at him, of which Nick found repulsing. "You'll be staying on the second floor of that lovely place." She leaned in and rolled her tongue as she said the word lovely. "And… oh! You can find your group over there." She pointed at the draw board. "Good luck handsome!" Nick wanted to gag, but he successfully managed to locate his opponents and waltz away without losing his lunch.

  • "So, this is Sinnoh. Can't say I am too impressed. Kanto has just as much to offer."

Leon's uneducated opinion notwithstanding, he entered the city limits of Sunnyshore city with some level of anticipation. Not only was it his first time in Sinnoh, the next location on his world tour but he was a competitor in the "Stars of Sinnoh" tournament. He had no idea what it was, what is was about, nothing at all for that matter. Nonetheless, he graciously accepted. Leon thought he accepted some invitation to some minor competition where he would crush a bunch of 10 years old dreams like a mother handing out broccoli on Halloween. Short, simple, sweet and then proceed to travel Sinnoh in order to enter the Pokemon League and finally win a real tournament. He already had to drop out of Unovian League because of some unnecessary drama clouding his judgement. His team was more than powerful enough, but alas one cannot change the past so there is no point on dwelling on it. Leon toured Sunnyshore for a period of time. He guessed it was a vacation spot of sorts, with a few resorts and an absolutely gorgeous beach. If he had a significant other, he figured he would take her here for the honeymoon. Then again, he hated the idea of commitment, at least for now.

He stopped at a small local restaurant on the door, picking up some food as the journey from Unova to Sinnoh was quite daunting and tiring. It was a fine burger, probably made from some Johto cattle. It was perfect in every way with enough extra toppings that half the burger crashed onto his plate, narrowly missing his expensive pants. Fortunately in his bag, he carried a few extra pairs for just such an occasion. Having recovered some of his strength, Leon continued to scour the streets. It seemed his fame had not reached Sinnoh as few people begged for his autograph as if selling it would obtain riches beyond wildest imaginations. He did get two requests which he obliged to accept.

"Hey kids. I am looking for Stars of Sinnoh thing. Any idea where its at?" He asked as he finished signing a picture of his in his signature thumbs up pose.

"How do you not know?" The older one jeered. "Aren't you in it?"

"Well, yeah. But I really didn't pay much attention. And don't tell anyone, but Unova is a bit slow to get the news sometimes."

The kids laughed at his joke, before answering his question: "It's over there!" They said it in unison, pointing in the distance. There was a large stadium, stabbing the sky with a cool blue blade. It was a spectacle to be sure, even at the distance Leon was at.

"You've got to be kidding me…that's the stadium? What did I get myself into?"

"What do you mean, Mr. Leon?" The younger child asked innocently.

"Ha! Nevermind. Don't worry. Be sure to watch me alright? Then again, I might win this thing so quickly, you'll miss it!" Leon roared with laughter. Suddenly this detour from his Champion aspirations became far more interesting. A tournament in that monstrosity of a stadium had to be big news. And the fame that winner would get would be immense. Leon had to win. Anything other fate would not be accepted.

Leon bolted over towards the stadium, using it as a compass to navigate the city streets. His hobby of parkour aided him greatly, blazing through the obstacles with ease. In due time and several damaged stands later, Leon reached the stadium courtyard. A sea of people stood in his way. Young, old, ugly and beautiful. The only thing Leon had seen in comparison was the crowds at Pokemon League championships he entered. Leon squeezed his way through the crowds, ducking his head down to avoid attention. He had this gut feeling he was late and couldn't afford many more delays. The registration desk was in sight and Leon perched himself there.

"Name, please," the young women requested.

    "Leonard. Leonard Radcliff."

The woman nodded and scanned the sheet: "Ah, there you are. You are late, Mr. Radcliff."

"And you are beautiful and married, but you don't see me complaining," He replied in a coy manner.

    "How did you…?"

"Intuition, my dear. And the ring on your finger is hard to miss. Now where am I going?"

"Oh..right. You are in Black group. You can look at the draw board there if you are curious about the rest of the competition. Housing is provided for you. Just check out the housing center when you have the time."

"Ah, good. Won't have to crash in the Pokemon Center then. Is there a PC nearby?"

"There should be a PC on the first floor where you are staying."

"Great. Thank you. Well, see ya then."

"Good luck with the rest of the stars!"

Heh, I won't need it, Leon thought to himself. He stuck his hands in his pockets as he looked at the other competitors. None of the names really stood out, though a few from Yellow group bore some resemblance to people he may have known. Especially Brandon. Can't be the Brandon I am thinking of, could it?

Leon shrugged his shoulders and moved on. "Free housing, eh? Let's check it out."
