    I love the maps but those waterfalls are kind of an eyesore but everything else is A ok ;)

    Thanks for the compliments! I have been having a really hard time finding tiles for the waterfalls, but if I can find some that are premade, then I can definitely change them!

    Update - I am not disappearing or anything, but I am just going to be changing my update methods. I am going to be including vastly more screenshots for my game, both map and gameplay, and I will make sure to keep you all up to date on how some new changes are going! So, the next time I update will probably be in about 2 or so days. I will make sure that you all can look forward to the updates, as I reveal new and exciting features for my game! I am going to be frequently updating the main thread with cool new features, artwork, and information about my game and the characters! I will also be adding a section with information about catchable non-story oriented Pokemon, Mega Evolutions that will be available in-game and post-game. Also, I will be updating the main forum with new on GTS support (not the XYORAS GTS support, but trading and competitive play for my game). So, within the next couple of days, I will not be very active in my posts, and I will make sure to provide updates with a lot more content, and general aspects that you can look forward to!

    Things that you can expect for the next update: Earth Sanctuary a-finished! Megiddo Desert a-finished! And, I will be showing some progress on Shimmering Mountains elaborate cave system!

    Script Update: Essentials Version 15.1 has now come out, and I am having the awesome mej71 add in the new scripts for Encouragement and Character Abilities! Again, if you have not checked his tutorials out on Pokecommunity, make sure to see his Lava Surfing Tutorial asap!

    I have now added the Gen 6 Project to my game, with all of the benefits that it provides. Including, abilities, moves, Pokemon, items, etc. I also updated the moves file with my own attacks, and whatnot.

    I really like the idea that each character has different abilities, really helps increase replay-ability. And these characters have very elaborate backstories, which I rarely see from developing games or rom hacks. Keep up the good work, looking forward to future updates :D

    Hey, thank you for the compliments on the game! Yeah, I wanted to do something a little more unorthodox than what people normally do with a Pokemon Game, in that the majority of them are just traditional Pokemon, with no real "plot" or anything changed. My game is meant to feel like a story, like an actual story from an RPG. There are also multiple endings to help increase the amount of replay-ability, but which one will you aim for ;) However, I am not sure how people will like not being able to nuzlocke my game.

    I shall provide some of the updates that I have posted over on Relic Castle onto this post:

    Map Update: I made a few small updates to Megiddo Desert - Ocean Ridge, and I am hoping that the minor changes that I made are worth the effort. General critiques are always appreciated! Also, right at the center of the mountain where you see an awkward hole is where I put events as a cave entrance, so just in case it does look weird, there is actually something there.

    New Map Update: Here is a new update to one of my maps, I have been redoing a lot of Megiddo Desert, and so far this is the result. And, I am hoping that someone is good at recoloring, because I need a bit of help recoloring those pillars in the desert:

    This looks quite interesting, with quite the expansive character introductions. The game I'm currently working on actually also has multiple playable characters, but yours works differently judging from the YouTube videos. I'm curious to see it in the beta/final version (which ever is released first).

    One thing I was curious about; You mention arcs in the verdant tales and even a Pokémon horizon 2. What does this actually mean? Will there be 3 games?

    Tip: use spoiler tags to make your OP more readable, right now it looks like a massive chunk of text.

    The prequel game is separated into arc's to progress the story. Much like in any anime/manga/game, etc, there are arcs in my game. However, all my game's have Arc's to them in the plot, but Verdant Tales is focused around them for the stories progression. When I begin making Verdant Tales after Symphonic Horizon 2, it will be more readily explained, but at the moment, I am still in the writing process for Verdant Tales and Dawn of a New World, since I just finished Symphonic Horizon not too long ago.

    Thank you for the compliments, and what will be released first is actually going to be the final beta of the game. Mainly because, I need to set up for "Closed Beta's," where I assign people who I know are good at critiquing my game to tell me what can be improved, and what should be changed. I don't want to release a game that doesn't show for the amount of hard work that I put into it, so at the moment, all the beta's for my game are closed to the public and are only available to people I know can really critique my game. Also, I will provide to you a link to the updated forum of my game, because I no longer use this forum for updates, but I instead use it to answer any questions about my game.

    Update: Today marks something special! Today is the day that Allan Monochroma receives his official artwork! Now you all can now start voting for him on the character popularity poll, instead of just going off of his bio XD But, no seriously, this is Allan Monochroma's initial design, and so far, I think he is really awesome looking, and turned out exactly how I imagined.

    As usual, my artwork is watermarked, so that no one can steal it, and shame on you if you try to do it :L

This artwork features Vivian's REAL attire, and not her Dark Fang clothes that you see her in, in all the artwork of her Wink By the way... yes, she does like Allan. *cough* OTP.     Thank you for the compliments! I do think some things in relation to my game could be done better, but I am glad you like it! The game will have an expected release sometime around June or July, and that is after the Closed Beta happens.

    Thanks a lot for the compliments! I see my 3 years of creative writing courses have shown in that post a tad, and I hope it shows even more in the story for my game! Awesome, I look forward to hearing your impressions on the game, once the first version has been released!

    A drawing you say? I am interested in seeing what you may come up with ;) And, Vice will appear even more awesome to you, once you see the new Transformation for Eevee coming within the next few days, so look out for that!

    Greetings, from the world of tomorrow! As you may now notice from the title of the forum post, that I am now writing down specific people who will be chosen for the closed beta. There are some conditions to this, however.

    1. You are not allowed to record the game. Under no circumstances may you record it, until it is fully released. Now, I trust that the people that I am letting play the game, will follow this rule, mainly because I don't want unfinished content to be shown to the public.

    2. You cannot, and will not share it with someone who does not have the game. This is so that way no one can "cheat the system," in that if someone is not a beta tester, and you decide to give a copy of the game to them, this rule is in place.

    3. Don't take content from the game, and use it for yourself. I.E. Sprites, music, artwork that is used in certain scenes, etc.

    With those out of the way, let's get into some fun stuff, shall we? First off, the new Battle System:

    Also, I started to refine all of my events throughout the course of the game, and will be fixing some old maps up during my Easter Break. Lastly, within a week or two, I will be showcasing the new Anime animation for my game, and I think it is going to be sick! It should be, at least, since I sunk 1000+ dollars into making it :L

    Side Note: I just got a new SSD, because my current Hard Drive has been... very slow. As of right now, I am doing a chkdsk C: /r before I Clone my current Hard Drives Data onto it. So, unfortunately I cannot actually do any kind of work on my game, until this... really slow chkdsk and cloning is finished :L I have been desperately in the need for an SSD, since... 2010, because I have been using the same Hard Drive for 6 years now, and it feels like it is on its way out, and I would hate to lose all my data. BUT, there is going to be something cool that I will be showing off later today, once I am done with the Cloning process, so look forward to that!

    Actually... here is the new update

    Artwork Update: The art that I am going to be showing off is a new set of features for the final versions of my game. What you see below is Vice and Eevee's Verdant Transforamtion (Ascension for short). In the story, it is explained that one with a pure-heart, and understands how to control Dragon Force, will be able to ascend to a state where the bond between Pokemon and Human can bring forth a form even more powerful than Mega Evolution. This transformation is called Verdant Transformation. Telling the rest of what it is, would be a spoiler, so for now to summarize, Vice gets new clothing during the transformation, Eevee becomes Shiny and its Base Stats DOUBLE! All of them!

    OverLimit: This also ties into the OverLimit system for my game. Basically, there are new TM's introduced throughout my game, that are used to access a 5th attack! You can only have 1 OverLimit attack at any one time, so having access to each Characters Exclusive 2 OverLimit TM's found throughout the course of the game will have to be changed depending on what you want to use. How it works is based on the amount of damage you do, and the damage received. Once the gauge is filled you can use either a Character Ability, or an OverLimit Attack. The OverLimit gauge is only used, once you have either one of those two things, otherwise OverLimit doesn't do anything. Each character has 2 OverLimits, and they are hidden throughout the course of the game. Vice's Verdant Transformation is an example of a Character Ability, that is used to access Eevee's OverLimit attacks.

    I know some people will have mixed responses on the whole Verdant Transformation thing, but, being an Anime lover, and growing up with inspirations from Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Various Other Anime's and J-RPG's; I feel that this helps emphasize how much I really do want to show my interests as well as inspirations with this new addition to my game.

    Verdant Transformation as a Whole: Verdant Transformation is the sharing of Dragon Force through the bond of Trainer and Pokemon. Since Pokemon in the Lumia Region are immune to the effects of Dragon Force from such long exposure to it, the trainer gathers it and through the bond between them, it allows for both to ascend to a higher level of transformation. In the Manga Verdant Transformation allows for Eevee and Vice to have shared Vision, which is extremely useful in battle, but unfortunately this was cut from the game, due to not having really any use whatsover in battle. Also, aesthetically, Vice and Eevee don a silver aura with bio-electricity emitting from them. The power from the form is so intense that waves of water will ripple and crash violently, and rubble will begin to ascend around them. In game however, this is not present. In the manga, a lot of those features are very much present.

    Manga Update: The manga for my game has just began having work done on it, from one of my closest friends on dA, who is also a manga artist. You can expect maybe the first Chapter to be view able around the end of May or the beginning of June.

    I am very curious as to know how people feel about this new addition.

But, before I actually show them, I wanted to know if there are any spriters who would be more than willing to help me. Specifically to help me make BW Styled Sprites for my game. Extra spriting help at the moment, will help speed up the production of my game, and will allow whoever signs up, to be added to the list of people who get to play the Closed Beta of my game.      What I forgot to show off here, is that, in the beginning of the game, before you get Eevee, you are not allowed to save your game. That is right. "Can't save my game in the first 5 minutes of gameplay, 7.4/10." Yeah, spare me your complaints about you not being able to save those 5 minutes of gameplay. I had to do it for a reason. But, this is the menu for the game. As you progress through the game, you will gain access to the other main characters, who take place in their own slot on the screen.

  • A tutorial sounds really pointless and there isn't any reason to stop the player at that gap for one.
    Your maps have a lot of open space, and as justifiable as it might seem, there is no excuse for the amount of wasted space in that building.
    Finally, your pause menu has clashing graphics and the result is very ugly.

    Update: So, I have been hard at work on my game, for the past month or so, and so far I have made A LOT of progress, not only in mapping, but refining and editing old events, and including new ones into the mix. So far, from my playtesting of my game, I have obtained about 9 hours of gameplay, and that is taking into account grinding, but the grinding was very little, because of the early game Lucky Egg and New EXP Share to help with that. So, here are some in-game screenshots of some areas, as well as a little something new that I made for my game, and that is the new text box.

    So, that is your update for today. Again, sorry that I haven't said much as of lately, been really busy, and haven't really been in a very sociable mood on the internet as of lately, for many reasons that I do not want to go into. But, I will be Livestreaming later today at 2:00PM, and probably will be listening to music while I do it, but feel free to stop on by for some work on my game. Perhaps even gameplay ;)

    In other news, the Closed Beta has been delayed for maybe... a few weeks or so, depending on when these sprites get finished. I am currently waiting on some new sprites for my characters to be finished by my spriter, as well as waiting for my Title Screen Anime Animation to get finished by my Animator. So, until the Sprites are done, and the animation is finished (which... she is sick at the moment, so please respect that), the Closed Beta is held off. As for the Manga of my game, my manga artist is almost finished with school this year, as well as I myself, so you can expect maybe a couple of pages to be released sometime in June or July. This stuff takes awhile, so don't expect a lot in a short amount of time.

  • Why are the mega stones so expensive? 100k for an Ampharosite is ridiculous. Players never had to give close to that much even to buy the starter Mega Stones in OR/AS. I'd suggest lowering them to 10k. Otherwise, screenshots look pretty good. Some of your graphics are still clashing style-wise though.
