Welcome to The Manor, Children of the Dark

Here, members of the Pokecommunity can gather to discuss the paranormal, supernatural and just horror in general from Cryptid Sightings (Bigfoot, Mothman, etc.) to where the scariest haunts are. This club is open for those who want to dip their toes in the dark pool to those who have been hardend by the strange things they have seen. If you want to share an experience or just want to get spooked, you have come to the right place.

But first, there are some commandments that one must follow.

I. Thou Shalt follow already established rules (Nuff said)

II. Thou Shalt be helpful to other members (Help a member if they ask about something)

III. Thou Shalt Not act in a disrepectful manner

IV. Thou shalt Not post gruesome images (keep your gore to yourself)

V. Thou Shalt Not speak falsehoods about supernatural/paranormal activity

VI. Thou Shalt enjoy thyselves.

Hello does this also double as a horror genre club? Anyways I too have had some experiences (although questionable) with the paranormal.

I'd like to hear people's opinion on found footage films. Some are really good horror like REC and then there's the Paranormal activity series which are tolerable at best.

We could like assign a horror movie to watch each day in October until Halloween and post our thoughts on it here.

I'd like to join! I'm not much into the paranormal myself but I am a HUGE horror movie buff. Super excited about Blumhouse's Halloween. n_n

Horror is probably the genre that I watch the most. My top favorite horror film is probably The Thing. The dread that comes from not knowing who's infected is effective. The practical effects are gruesome. Great acting. Great monster. Very rewatchable for me.

I have such a weak spot for hokey, silly, obtusely grotesque, horror classics.

Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Child's Play, Scream, Halloween... I mean, I can go on forever. You all know what I'm talking about. :)

I have a huge passion for the makeup and practical effects used in creating believable (and sometimes very uncanny) horror movies. The work that goes into transforming actors and filming the scenes is so fascinating to me. One of the many jobs I have on my bucket list is to create my own movie monster.

I think for October I will watch a horror movie I haven't seen before every day and post my thoughts on it here. Hopefully I will find the time to do so.

Question for New Members

What is the creepiest thing you had experienced on the job, supernatural or otherwise? For me, it started on a summer day at a local boathouse. Things were slow and the boss and another girl I worked with just left, so it was just me and another coworker who I will refer to as Dani. Me and Dani were behind a desk where the calculator for bank stuff was when the landline rang. I had answered with the usual greeting I had, but to no reply other than silence on the other end. After I asked if who or whatever was on the other end was still there, I hung up after ten seconds of silence.

Same thing happened five mintutes later. I have no idea if a person had dialed by accident or what.

Thinking for National Ghost Hunting Day (Sept. 29), I might try to run some apps in my house and post the results.

Why would you want to attempt to find ghosts in your own home? I'd rather be blissfully ignorant of the ones in my house so I can sleep at night.

As for your mysterious phone call, I get that on my own phone a lot. It's most likely a silent call. Could be phone fraud as well. Luckily it happened on the landline and not your phone for you. I'm worried about people potentially stealing my personal info, that's way scarier than a ghost call.
