Heya, we've never talked before but I saw your post on Red's profile so I decided to come by.
THB I understand how you feel because I did feel that way several months back. But first, I've got to tell you and let you comprehend what I'm about to say. Do you like RPing? I need no answer, only the one from your heart. Many others, just like you, have gone through this phase before. Actually I know a couple of people who is/were exactly in this situation like you. Why are you roleplaying for? You have to ask yourself that question. Why? Is it for fame or for improvement? If your answer is the first, let me tell you now and right this moment that you shouldn't be roleplaying.
Now, before you think I'm trying to walk all over you, well of course you are wrong. xD But I'm telling and informing you for your own good. At times I can be sadistic and watch people such as you destroy yourselves over things that in actual reality don't mean much to you. But seeing that you have potential, I'm not. Matter of fact, I'm in a good mood because I can open someone's mindset. Out with the old and in with the new~!
Let's consider the case if you're only in it for glory and fame. Roleplaying is an art, it's a form of leisure to distress one's self. Roleplaying is not, I repeat, is not a competition. Yes, we have RPAs but they're like achievements to acknowledge hard workers and they motivated one to do better. But, here's the catch. If you're only RPing for your name to be known forum-wide, I tell you no matter what you do, you don't deserve that award. Roleplaying is a game, yes. But not to be taken so seriously as if it's life and death. You see those people who won many awards, Supervegeta and RHCP? Do they see RPing as a job? I bet you 100% it's a no. I know for a fact that they're in school, they may or may not have a part-time job. Why do they roleplay?? Simple, DISTRESSING. To be away from school, away from crazy schedules and say bye to memorising formulas and concepts of science. Like many of us, they've turned to writing as an expressive platform. I can actually inform you that none of them really bother if they won or not. I know them personally, they weren't in it for fame excess, they simply took it as a hobby. Just like most of us~ You got to realize that there's more to roleplaying than emblems or overrated magnificent "King of RPing" titles.
So before I can really help you, your heart must answer this. Why are you roleplaying? :3 If you really wish to be good not for the sake of fame and honor, you'd reply this question. If not, I don't deal with people who desire for the wrong things. Have a nice day~
