I personally prefer to wait for the English version, seeing as I enjoy the (very limited) storylines in the games. That said, seeing as HGSS are remakes and I already know what's going on, I'm highly considering importing one version and waiting for the other to get the full experience.

There are plenty of Pokemon that don't have a "real life counterpart." Manaphy (and Phione) is an official legendary. An ugly legendary, at that.

This is what I personally believe -- that all of the leftover energy from the chaos that created Arceus eventually calmed down, and over many years, developed into what we know as Mew. This would make the fact that Mew shares the DNA of all Pokemon consistant, as Mew would share DNA with Arceus...
