really old

i pick the old ones becuse i was there when they were made first so its only fair to say their where here first so they got my vote.

ps i have all 150 thax to the new its now its almost a pain hehehehe.

Really, I do like the pokemon in the old generations, but the new ones also have good pokemon, such as salamence, giratina, flygon, and others.

I think the argument of old vs. new is rather pointless, because every generation has it's own gems (
and steaming crap piles. I'm looking at you bidoof!).

I like pokemon from all the generations... My main team is comprised of pokemon from different Gens as well as pokemon with cross-generational ties...

original 150 is the way to go.

mewtwo... there will never be a better legend.

The only cool "new" pokemon that come to mind are Magmortar and Electevire.

legendary dogs, dialga and palkia r pretty cool too.

1st and 2nd Gen Pokemon are my favorites, due to the nostalgia factor. I will admit, however, that 3rd and 4th Gen Pokemon are slowly growing on me.

Ah, I just love it when these types of threads pop up >_>

My least favorite pokemon are from... gen 1. That's right people, my least favorite genereation is the first one. And, my favorite generation is the last one. Sure, R/B/Y were still good games, but I can actually see them as they were, rather than through nostalga-goggles. The reason most people seem to prefer gen one and two is that they grew up with them. I, for one, grew up with R/S/E, so I actually like the new pokemon. They aren't running out of ideas, or making them worse, it's just that most people aren't willing to get used to the new pokemon.

Something is making me agree with the bolded statement. I grew up with generation one, sure, but I don't like them better for that alone. I like all generations of Pokémon. In fact, there's only a handful of Pokémon I don't like, if any at all.

I can't vote because I like both old and new. There are some old pokemon that are good and some new ones that are good too. The only way to improve on pokemon is to make newer pokemon that are better than the old ones. That is why I like both and cannot vote.

I like both, but I'm going to have to go on the "new legendaries are becoming quite ridiculous" side of the line, namely from Gen. 4. We've already got a Pokemon that created the whole universe, so I'm going to have to wonder what new legendaries will pop up for Gen. 5.

Some of the newer ones have a bit of a wtf factor though. Tangrowth looks like a bloody sewer monster straight out of a bad horror movie. x____o On the flip side, however, some of the newer ones grew to be some of my favorites, like Rayquaza and even some gen. 4 ones.

I grew up with Atari and NES... Pokemon came out when I entered high school and I quit playing pokemon after Gen 2, and didn't return until I realized many con-goers played it and it gave me a way to interact with the normal con-goers without revealing myself and getting bugged or glomped by fans. Even though I do like a lot of the simple gameplay in games like Zelda, Mario, and Mega Man... I still believe that newer games are better... just because one is nostalgic abouet something doesn't mean they can't find the new stuff to be better. Personally I like the new innovations in the games, mostly the Wireless due to the fact that it aids in anonymity at conventions...

There about the same in my opinion some old and new are cool and some old and new were not that appealing to me.
