What do you mean? LO does boost my moves. O_o Though, Flame Plate is a choice, but then other move will lack power, and it doesn't raise the power of Flare Blitz as much as LO does. Leftovers is an okay option, but he actually needs the power to kill bulky waters and such. Oh, and I made a decent one that you can use, but I know how to counter if you do use it, lol.
Arcanine @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire / Intimidate
Nature: Naughty
EVs: 252 Atk / 100 SpA / 156 Spe
- Agility
- Fire Fang
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Solarbeam
Set Comments: This is a bit better. He has enough Speed to outspeed even max Speed (Timid) Scarf Gengar, and many other major Speed stat Pokemon that are Scarfed after an Agility. Fire Fang scores 2HKO on Bliss, as well as other special walls. It pretty much is a Flare Blitz without recoil in the sun. Hidden Power [Ground] is for the one and only: Heatran! He gets OHKOed by it (I wish he was never made so I could put Return here >:[), though this is kinda a waste of a slot since it is only meant for Heatran. D: Solarbeam is an awesome move for him since it OHKOs or 2HKOs every Water-type in the game (barring Ubers). There is actually two Pokemon that counter this set completely, Salamence and Dragonite, now if Dragonite has no Defense EVs or nature, then I might be able to knock him down with Fire Fang. Salamence is the ultimate counter, with Intimidate he makes Fire Fang useless, and he is double resistant to Solarbeam, and completely immune to HP... Now, Arcanine can 2HKO him with Flare Blitz, but that takes away HUGE hunks even with Lefties in account. BUT, this makes a VERY effective late-game cleaner once everything is weakened and statused, maybe even better than Empoleon or Lucario. Also, you can scout for Salamence with a team member. ;) Though, that would be better if the entire team was Sunny Day based with Chlorophyll sweepers. The best lead for this would definitely be: Jumpluff.
Jumpluff @ Heat Rock
Trait: Chlorophyll
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
- Sleep Powder
- Sunny Day
- U-turn
- Encore
Set Comments: This is the best lead to let Arcanine sweep. Put the foe to sleep the beginning, then set up SD, and U-turn out. Encore is for Sleep Clause if the opponent already has one sleeping Pokemon.
Arcanine would work well in a Sunny Day team, and I suggest this to be in UU. Where Heatran, Salamence, and Dragonite are never around. Except, I would have to do the EVs again for the calcs for the UU Pokemon.
