This Key Item increases the likelihood that you will encounter Shiny Pokémon. When you have the item in your bag, then the chances of encountering Shiny Pokémon in the wild is increased to 300% of normal, making it a 1 in 2,730.6 chance. If, however, you're using the Masuda Method to breed, it increased it from 1 in 1,365.3 down to 1 in 1024.
As of Pokémon X & Y, the rate increases from the standard 1 in 4096 to 1 in 1365.3

Also, the chance is not a huge one. I believe with the Masuda Method it cuts the chance in half, going from like 1/1800 to like 1/800 and then the shiny charm lowers that chance from 1/800 to 1/500. If that tells you anything.

Sounds good. I actually got REALLY lucky today with the Bulbasuars I was breeding and got a 6 IV one pretty quickly.

I won't be trading right away. I want to finish breeding the one I have right now.

That's very true. The berry possibilities are endless. Heck, even an Enigma Berry would be cool to use.

I know. It's just what I am thinking. Especially since Dedenne really finds it hard to do stuff against ground types.

I think that the charm version of dedenne might be a bit better since his SpA is higher and nothing is immune to charm
