Found a weird bug involving the Voltorb Machines from the Goldenrod and Celadon Game corners; if you interact with one while having no coins whatsoever, your following pokemon will remain frozen in place up until you either talk to one of the NPCs, talk to the pokemon, or just leave the area.

It's playable from start to finish, so I dare say yes.

Not sure if this has been reported before, but as a side effect of making Primo always gift you a Slugma Egg near the start of the game, it's currently impossible to obtain the special backgrounds for PC boxes and some of the other eggs. Is that intended, or a necessary drawback?

Absolutely nice hack man! I do have noticed most trainer teams seem to be relatively similar to the ones in vanilla Emerald (at the very least taking into account pre/evolutions when considering the level scaling). Are there any plans to spice them up later so they can use more pokemon variety?

Yeah, in that case any of the 2 tools should do the trick. About the second question, so far no one has ever done but it should technically be possible since there are specific areas in the original HGSS that disable the following pokemon feature (like Clair's gym iirc).
