  • I meant the concept, it's story is that of the Ziz which is the hebrew counterpart of the Roc.

Actually it's Aztec...kind of wish people will not confuse the two. Yvetal's name also came from the same god btw...also Therian Thundurus' design like Rayquaza was based off it...Gf must really love the Aztec wind god...

Actually have you ever heard of the story of how the Aztecs thought the spaniards were gods? it was because their wind god was white and bearded...the Aztecs when being converted to Christianity noticed parallels between Jesus and him, like wise for a goddess (beleive it was a sun or Earth goddess) with the Virgin Mary.

I wish there were more info on Aztec mythology...it allows me to see what my ancestors beleived in...though it's more common than your area of knowledge...
Where did you heard of it from? Your contacts? Or your own research?
It's poison huh? The medieval version was more like Medusa with the eyes though instead of stone it was instant death...and it was weak against weasels...though after dying it's poison will kill the weasel as well. Same with anyone who dared to stab it. In a story of mine someone has basilisk powers...and another related to him...has Roc/griffin powers...there's a third too but I'm not/wasn't sure what they should be...

Ironic how Pokémon made the Roc (Rayquaza who's story is based off the Ziz who was the hebrew version of the Roc), Hydra (Hydreigon), and Giratina (basilisk) all dragons xD.
I see...well the romans are beleived to have adapted their religion from the Greeks during the Hellenistic era as well as their neighbors the Etruscan's...so maybe there's something to find there...

Btw is the Basillisk from Archacism? As most sources say it came about during medeival times.
    Maybe.
So you said that you don't know much about Hinduism right? Would you like to learn more? It's a very interesting religion and shares parallels with the Greek, Roman, and Norse myths of Europe.
