Do you already have an idea how you want to design the region? depending on that you could focus on different type of pokemon. E.g. if you add a lot of snowy routes you'd need more ice types or if you add a big desert you might want to add more ground types and so on.

It might be helpful, if you shortly explain what pokemon they are, especially regarding to the basestats (e.g. starter, early bug, legendary, mega, etc.) ^^

You need to find a good balance between simple (it's your first route after all) and interesting. Maybe a Pokemon with an interesting type or one that might be useful in the game, e.g. in the first gym? I personally loved to see a regional bird with a different type in Gen 6.

Especially in the beginning you should focus on what most fun for you and try out everything you can imagine. Start small and make a small game just for yoursef before you think about publishing a howl 8-gym game with all Pokemon and everything. If you like what you are doing try out other...

You need to think about what demographic you aim for. If you want your game to be played only by adults you should go for it. Even though I personally think that nudity and Pokemon don't fit together it's still your game. And if you want a more adult game without nudity and that kind of stuff...

I personally wouldn't like it. Many people have different oppinions on Pokemon and therefore may like the pre-evolution just better. Others may like to use a capture a random wild Pokemon and use it as their main Pokemon and quit traing your Starter at all. It would pretty devastating to realise...

Having different events/gyms would be possible to do and not that hard to manage because the gender choice already is safed in a variable (or if not could easily be). But you should keep in mind that, if you choose to change the general design of howl towns or routes you basically create 2 games...
