To get you started, you should just hop in. Grab a Firered rom and experiment with things in Advance map. There is no "Unified Teachings" most people learn at there own pace, on there own time.

Easier solution is to decompile the mew event in FR/LG, and check for the flags that allow it to obey.

Just my 2 cents. Spending Hours on something will produce no results, hacking takes days to learn, years to master. If your making a rom, and have no idea what your doing, don't bother with a name yet, or anything else like storyline. "Learn how to build a house, before you pick out curtians."
