Different people, different methods.

Sometimes it's hard doing that, especially before inserting. I normally insert then recolour the pallette.

Manually, kinda. I use Paints Eyedropper tool to find the pallette, then put the nearest possible thing in A-Map. Sometimes, like in the case of your fast water current, I do it manually and randomly and see what flows (lol pun).

Nearly everyone has. I did used to, but then I just shifted into tile inserting as my main focus, as I love it so.

Ohhhhh no charakter maker just tell me how much colours that tile uses!!!
and if not i have to index it through irfan view!!!!!!!
and than go again in charakter maker and than it shows me 16 colours wit the back ground!!!!
than i save the pal as an act!!!!
and than i go to amap and load that act tooo!!!!!!
and than i save the tileset and bring the tile there!!!!!!! and edit it!!!!!!!
and than i inserted it!!!!
and edit it on a map!!!!!
and than i ahve an super awesome map that beats yours!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

Well, I don't know how to say this without sounding rude... I don't know, I think it's because you have a vast majority of skills, so tile inserting stays at a middle level, whereas I don't really, I focus mostly on tile inserting.

Anyway, buildings.

Yep, all I need now. I've:
-Fixed the mountain thing
-The fast water pallette
-New tree, yet that can be easily replaced if everyone hates it
-New grass path
-Leaving the PC and Mart. They fit the style.

So yeah, just buildings. Not bad for half an hour.

i am doing that tooo and dont just to let the player cathch ghost pokemon or fight with zombie trainers!!!!!!!!

In the last 20 minutes, I've inserted a new small tree, and kinda redone the fast water pallette. It looks better, and I doubt I can do better.
