It's hard to decide for me whether HP or LOTR for #1...They're basically the same thing, with LOTR being a bit bigger plot-wise. If it was the movies I'd say LOTR hands down but the LOTR books were a bit dry at times. HP was easier to read and even though it had ridiculously long books(760...
